When Kendra comes home for the holidays, she is disgusted to find her brother's best friend Jack staying in her parents' house. Nothing could be worse.

I’m always a little weary when going into holiday books, but this one was so good! I found myself laughing and feeling sentimental as the characters went through all the shenanigans they went through. I like how most of the story was left open ended at the conclusion so that other books could be written about their lives! Shandra has a knack for telling a wonderful story and having it flow together really well. I am thoroughly impressed with this one and I recommend snagging this beauty for yourself.

Shandra writes her FMCs in such an endearing way, where as I read and learn more about them I can't help loving every single flawed inch of them. Kendra resonated with me a lot having also been a tomboy growing up. I wasn't happy having that freedom yanked away from me either, but it happened with puberty for me.
The friendship between Kendra and Gwen is the kind of ride-or-die that is rare I feel like. I was expecting things to go sideways between them, but they communicated and were both understand about each other's life choices, which was refreshing.
The way the author manages to have you hate Jack right with Kendra, and then shows you his depths and layers and the fact that what he did as a dumb kid wasn't who he was now. I loved Jack just as much as I loved Kendra by the end. The way their relationship developed felt so real and sweet. The teasing and banter between them was adorable and I never wanted it to end.
If you've never read anything by this author you should hop on the train now. Definitely a fun read for the holidays.

This is my favourite holiday book I’ve read this year. It had the right amount of Christmas activities. I really enjoyed the banter in this story and the progression of the relationship. Kendra never changed her stance and how she felt about her reality. She just learned it was more complicated. Jack was amazing. You can totally see why she hates him but he is also so endearing. You can’t help but love him by the end of the book. I do feel like everyone was assholish but I also liked that about this story. This is my first book by Shandra but certainly not my last.

A great enemies to lovers/hate to love book with just enough spice! The relationship between Jack and Kendra had me laughing and rooting for them to finally figure out they are so good for each other. Shandra David is a fabulous writer who does Love to Hate so well! Please pick this book up! Delicious tension at its best!
