An impenetrable forcefield encircles the planet Zuood. There is speculation, but nobody knows who created the field. The Galaxy Council knows a solution must be found to neutralize it before their world dies. Something within the Bootes Void is sending a signal that has taken over the Hive Mind. Through the Hive, someone is watching, waiting to strike. Commander Harlacker and his team need to travel to the Void and uncover the threat, but how do they get through the field? They learn that whoever has set up the forcefield around Zuood has the power to shut down every AI interface across the galaxy, which would result in billions of deaths. They commandeer an abandoned ship, break through the forcefield, and head for Bootes. What they find there can destroy the entire galaxy or save it, provided Henrik makes the right choice.

In the third and final installment of ‘Origin Andromeda’, the book ‘Shattered Peace’ by Christoffer Vuolo Junros, takes readers beyond anything previously experienced by man — an encounter with an irresistible entity that can prove to be a friend or a destroyer. Readers are advised to read the first two books in the trilogy to fully grasp the author’s complex world building. Without this background, getting into the story will take some time. Background aside, a persistent reader will be taken onto a wondrous journey where the impossible becomes possible. Christoffer Vuolo Junros crafted ‘Shattered Peace’ with consummate skill that is a pleasure to read, uncluttered with a lot of characterization. Finished with the book, lovers of hard science fiction will undoubtedly scramble to grab the first two volumes.
