it is 0 star...okay wait can I give negative rating??
was in reading slump from the last 20 25 days I guess i don't even remember lol. This book was all over insta and people were raving and crying over it and the book finished me was going on every reel so I decided to try it out . Within 40 pages I the book i understood that the author have published his first draft itself because there were countless spelling errors( non negotiable) and if that was not enough the sentences was poorly written. I didn't releated to characters at all which I do in almost all the romance books. I wasn't even feeling emotions while reading this cuz the same sentences were getting repeated and it became a headache . I am happy I got out of my slump but the book was just trash for me. Let's come to the characters in this book. I am quite annoyed by male lead of this book which was Aarav , he was always busy in cursing his destiny rather than doing something good to save his relationship and he just gave up before even asking his parents which shows his coward attitude and it irked me.. At the same time I just find Swati to be little immature if she didn't had the guts to fight her parents why this unnecessary drama??? Wtfff
And for Kalpeesh may god help him to rot in hell cuz he deserves it..
Rohan is an immature asshole( pardon my language)
Actually I didn't found any relationship to be true in story even the friendship of Ridhi with Swati seemed so surfaced . The love between our lead seemed so surfaced frrr..
I was not able to relate to any characters even after trying so hard..
The 0.5 star here was for the cute book cover and I loved it absolutely ..
That's all

btw I read it on 15 August 2025 .

"She Was Only Mine" by Abhinav Ojha just pulls you right into Aarav and Swati's story in Delhi. You're there for all the meet-cute stuff and watching them fall for each other – it feels super genuine. And because you get invested in their happiness, it hits you hard when Aarav suddenly disappears. You just feel for Swati as she tries to figure out what the heck happened.

Seriously, the way Ojha tells the story, you actually feel what these two are going through. Swati isn't just some damsel waiting to be rescued; her love and her strength really shine as she digs for answers. It's not just about solving a mystery, though; it's more about this deep dive into how love can really stick with you, even when life throws some seriously rough stuff your way and your heart's kind of broken. You end up totally rooting for her to find some peace.

We know the idea of a love story with a twist isn't exactly brand new but the way this one plays out and how real the emotions feel as you're reading? That's what makes it good. It makes you think about how love isn't always easy; sometimes it's messy, and people end up making choices you never saw coming. Ultimately, it leaves you wondering about how strong love can be and how fate can sometimes just mess with things. But will fate win here?

“Even if my heart beat keeps going, my soul will leave my body if it does not find her around me.”

Aarav, a software engineer from Bihar carving out a new life in Noida at HCL, found his world irrevocably changed by Swati. Their romance ignited quickly, culminating in a heartfelt proposal and a period of intense connection.
Little did they know, their happiness was a fragile thing.
However, their love story takes a dark turn when Aarav mysteriously disappears without a trace.
Where did he suddenly disappear ?? Will their relationship fall apart, or will they defeat all the challenges and reunite ?
One of the most striking aspects of the story is its honest take on how caste still plays an ugly role in relationships today.
Aarav and Swati’s romance is depicted with warmth and sincerity, making their relationship feel genuine and relatable.
There are many moments in the story where Aarav hums Bollywood songs, which adds a desi touch to the novel.
This emotional and heart-touching novel explores the complexities of love, loss, longing, friendship, betrayal and the consequences of our choices.
The author has beautifully captured the essence of true love and the sacrifices it demands.

Prepare for an emotional rollercoaster!
This isn’t just a romance; it’s a raw and honest portrayal of true love’s peaks and valleys. I was moved to tears by the end. This book will linger in your thoughts long after you have finished reading. If you crave a story that will truly touch your heart, look no further.

"She Was Only Mine" by Abhinav Ojha is a poignant story of love, sacrifice, and destiny set against the bustling streets of Delhi. It's one of those rare books that doesn’t just tell a story — it makes you feel every emotion deep in your gut.

The journey begins with Aarnav Tripathi, a young man standing at a heartbreaking crossroads — making the gut-wrenching decision to delete every memory of the one person who meant the world to him. From the very first chapter, you can sense the heaviness, the ache of letting go without closure.

Aarnav, a newly graduated software engineer, moves from Patna to Delhi after landing his dream job. Delhi feels like a new beginning for him — new city, new dreams, and unknowingly, a new heartbreak waiting. It’s in a random café back in Patna where he first lays eyes on Swati — a girl so beautiful and radiant that she immediately becomes the center of his universe. Their story begins with innocent glances and small talks, slowly blossoming into something real and tender. The cute, awkward conversations between Aarnav and Swati are so well-written, they honestly made me blush at times.

But, as life often reminds us, not all love stories are meant to have happy endings. Through twists of jealousy, competition, and painful misunderstandings — mostly fueled by the very friendships Aarnav trusted — their relationship slowly unravels. It's heartbreaking because the story makes you root for them, only to watch fate and choices tear them apart.

One thing I loved about the book is how real everything felt. The struggles of a boy in his early twenties — adjusting to a new city, chasing dreams, experiencing first love, and feeling the sting of betrayal — are captured with honesty and simplicity. It doesn't feel like fiction; it feels like you’re reading a real person’s diary. And knowing that the story is inspired by true events makes it hit even harder.

The ending doesn’t offer a perfect wrap-up. Instead, it leaves you with a bittersweet taste — questioning love, destiny, and whether happy endings truly exist, or if it's the journey that matters more than the destination.

Abhinav’s writing is simple, direct, and very emotional. It’s easy to follow, but the depth of emotions stays with you long after you finish. If you’re someone navigating your early twenties, experiencing your own firsts in life, love, or friendships — this book will feel like a mirror to your heart.

उसने देखा ही नहीं अपनी हथेली को
कभी उसमें हल्की सी लकीर मेरी भी थी…!!

♥️Love can be a beautiful, Rhyming verse, a poem that utters directly to the Heart♥️.
For Aarav and Swati, their love was a masterpiece, written in the language of their Hearts♥️ a language that only they could understand.

Nothing beats that beautiful feeling of being in a loving relationship or even a new relationship that has lots of potential. And while those feelings are somewhat indescribable, “She Was Only Mine” captures some of that magical feeling of love in this amazing Novel.

This emotional and heart-touching novel explores the complexities of love, loss, longing, friendship, betrayal and the consequences of our choices.

“She Was Only Mine” delves into the fineness of relationships through a simple yet emphatic interaction between the Protagonists Aarav and Swati who fall deeply in love with each other.

Talking about the beginning of the novel, which focuses on Aarav's family, is a beautiful and emotional portrayal of the intricacies of family life.
It's a reminder that family is not just a group of people related by blood, but a complex web of relationships, emotions, and experiences that shape us into who we are.

Aarav recently moves to the vibrant city of Delhi for his Job in HCL, his romance blossoms in the unlikeliest of places - a charming cafe, Aarav, is smitten by Swati’s beauty and Charm, and soon finds himself hanging out the cafe, just to snag a glimpse of Her🫧

As the story proceeds, Aarav and Swati becomes inseparable, their hearts start beating as one. But, like all good things, their happiness is short-lived. Aarav’s single mistake effects the relationship between Swati and Aarav.

Had Aarav really been hiding secrets from her all along?

Will Swati be able to find Her true love, or Aarav’s one mistake ruins Swati life ?

In my opinion, this story comes with a roller coaster of sentiments that will make you laugh, cry and be proud of and feel all the emotions that you thought you had missing somewhere in your life.♥️
I would highly recommend this book to my fellow bookworms to read this beautiful heart touching novel by Author Abhinav Ojha.

Some tales don't simply happen — they take hold within your heart, sewing themselves into your feelings. She Was Only Mine was one such experience for me.

Against the colorful, vibrant background of Delhi, I was strolling with Aarav — a fresh recruit software engineer with a dream-filled heart — and Swati, the lovely and lively daughter of a café owner. From Aarav's fumbling initial "hi" on Instagram to the innocent stares shared over coffee tables, I experienced every heartbeat, every flutter, every wait in anxiety for a response. Theirs wasn't a bond on paper; it flowered — delicate, lovely, true.

And just when I thought that I could finally breathe easy, fate dealt a wicked curve. Aarav's vanishing act tore through the tender thread of their love, leaving behind the empty pain of unsolved questions. I flipped each page with shaking fingers, praying and hoping and grieving with Swati, eager to know if love would triumph over destiny's cruel trials.

What lingered with me wasn't their romance alone — it was the nature of the love they had. A love so simple, so wildly unconditional, that distance, silence, and grief could not really destroy. Their romance wasn't all about laughter and snatched glances; it was about quiet fortitude, about clinging even while everything else recedes.

Not only was reading She Was Only Mine reading, but feeling — the thrill of giddy first love, the anguish of yearning, the melancholic acceptance of the cruelties of life, and most of all, the eternal hope that true love never truly withers away.

Even though I had closed the final page, Aarav and Swati remained with me — a gentle echo within my heart, whispering to me that sometimes the greatest loves are not the ones that have ideal conclusions, but instead, they remain an endless connection.

Love often begins with stolen glances, whispered conversations, and the warmth of shared moments. Aarav, a young software engineer in Delhi, finds himself drawn to Swati, the charming daughter of a café owner. His daily visits to the café turn into something more—something deeper. As their love blossoms, Aarav takes the leap and proposes to Swati, believing they are meant to be. Their love feels like poetry in motion, a rhythm only their hearts can understand. But love is never just about happiness; it’s also about the tests fate throws along the way.

Just when their story seems perfect, destiny plays its cruel hand. Aarav disappears—vanishing without a trace, leaving Swati lost in a maze of heartbreak and unanswered questions. Did he leave her willingly? Was there a secret he had been hiding? Or was something far more tragic at play? Swati’s heart refuses to accept that Aarav could abandon her, and with every passing moment, she drowns in an ocean of uncertainty.

As Swati searches for the truth, the story unfolds like a puzzle with missing pieces. The book takes readers on an emotional rollercoaster, where love and pain intertwine in the most haunting ways. It’s not just about the loss of love but also about hope, faith, and the struggle to uncover the truth. Can true love survive the test of time and fate, or will it fade into a distant memory? The answers lie in the pages of this heart-wrenching tale.

“She Was Only Mine” is more than just a love story—it’s a journey through the highs and lows of true love, sacrifice, and the unpredictable nature of destiny. Abhinav Ojha paints an emotionally rich picture of love’s resilience, making readers question: Is love ever truly lost, or does it live on in the depths of our hearts?

A good love story is when there is pain, longing, care and love infused in one. If there is no pain then there is no love that’s what we have heard till now about true love. This is not always true for every love story but its true in most of them.
Love which is claimed without any difficulty and quiet easier is not valued much in comparison to love received the hard way. Being in love is the most beautiful feeling in the world and if you’re lucky enough you will get the same amount of love in return.
This is the story of Aarav Tripathi who belongs to bihar and has come to Noida for job at HCL as software engineer. He is a simple boy with big dreams and expectations from his new phase of life. He starts his new life in PG but after a month moves in with his friends in an apartment and in search of tea and breakfast he reaches a café where he meets a girl who makes him mesmerized at first sight and he falls in love.
Swati is the daughter of the owner of the café and comes to the café to manage it in evening. Being the introvert that Aarav is he hesitates to even ask her name and it takes him 2 months to finally know her name and find her social media. They start talking slowly and after some time they both fall for each other deeply.
No love story is complete without some pain and when the pain comes from the most unexpected place we aren’t ready and it takes us by surprise. Same happens with them, there are things that they keep from each other which leads to misunderstanding or is the matter something else?
I liked the story but the writing part was a bit off for me and that’s the reason it took me a long time to finish the book. Many things were a bit over-explained by the narrator which irritated me at lots of places.

There are thousands of love stories around the world but only a few get written about to be remembered eternally, others just get lost with time. "She Was Only Mine " is one such romantic tale. Set against the backdrop of the capital of the country, the story features a fresher in HCL Tech, Aarav Tripathi, who falls in love with a cafe owner's daughter, Swati Agarwal on a random day and starts doing all those crazy stuff that the lovers in love usually do. Aarav never missed visiting Swati's cafe just to have a glance of her for months and throughout this he was unknowingly growing emotionally attached to her. However, the story takes an unexpected turn when after sharing a perfect relationship for almost three years, Aarav disappears leaving Swati perplexed. Did Aarav really love her? If he did what went wrong with their love story? Did Swati get her closure? Was Aarav actually at fault or it was just a trick of destiny?

To know these answers, you need to read this beautiful book which narrates the saga of love, longing and heartbreak. The language of the book is easy to understand and the characters are well sketched. I particularly loved the character of Aarav, mostly because of the dialogues the author has assigned to the character. For instance, I had to pause and re-read the lines when Aarav said "She looked beautiful from all the geographical angles.."  and "She was my favorite habit." The book successfully intrigues the readers enough to keep them hooked till the end. It is a perfect pick for a random winter day. So if you like reading romance fictions, you shouldn't miss this one.

Their love story unfolds with a delicate touch, capturing the essence of first love – the stolen glances, the nervous conversations, and the intoxicating joy of shared moments.
Their idyllic romance, however, is abruptly shattered by Aarav's mysterious disappearance. Swati, left reeling from his sudden absence, is plunged into a whirlpool of uncertainty and despair. Did Aarav truly love her? Was there a hidden side to him that she never knew? Or was his disappearance a cruel twist of fate?
The author masterfully builds suspense, leaving the reader constantly guessing about Aarav's fate. The narrative skillfully interweaves moments of intense longing with poignant reflections on the nature of love and the enduring power of hope. When do you know relationship is real? Is it when a couple meets, walk through the road of flower and have happily ever after or is it when a couple face their own challenges and might or might not end up together.
The book is not a regular love story, where it offers a normal perspective on romance since it deviates from the standard storyline of male meeting a lady, they become romantically involved, confront a challenge & then get married. No, the book is far too real from it. Instead the book focuses on the difficulties and reality of relationships, emphasizing how they can be both compassionate and devastating.

The book is the celebration of early 20s with romance, new job, navigating the transition into adulthood, self discovery, living on our own, career exploration which we get to live through Aarav. A young gentleman who has started a new job who falls in love with beautiful Swati who is as attractive as a celebrity. The two explore young love together, cute moments, giggles and end up leaving you feeling excited more.

Shakespeare said, the journey ends when the lover meets? Is it really true? What if 'nazar' works and it happens and everything turns upside down. And, it leaves the lover heartbroken?.

The characters were developed nicely. The friends and family are well written and in a realistic manner. Though at one point the storyline feels quite common.
The book also gives many friendship reality checks. The author does a great job in describing the angst, attraction, and romance between Aarav and Swati.

All in all, a good story, epic love and amazing characters. Total thumps up!

"A love written in the language of hearts, tested by the hands of fate"

Set against the lively backdrop of Delhi, the love story begins when Aarav, a newly joined software engineer working in HCL, falls in love with the beautiful daughter to the owner of a well-known café in Delhi, Swati. As their beautiful bond unfolds, Aarav’s earnestness and Swati’s sweet innocence made their love story feel so pure. Their connection felt tender and real, making me root for them right from the start.

But just when everything seemed perfect, the story took an emotional, heartbreaking turn. Aarav's sudden disappearance left Swati with a deep sense of longing and unanswered questions. I found myself flipping pages with a racing heart, desperate to know if destiny was going to be cruel or kind to them.

What touched me the most was how the book beautifully captures the essence of true, unconditional love — a kind that remains steadfast even when the world stands against it. Aarav and Swati’s love isn’t just about happiness; it’s about the silent strength it takes to love someone even when fate pulls you apart.

"She Was Only Mine" isn’t just a story - it’s a deeply emotional journey. One that shows how sometimes, even the purest love isn’t enough to win against the harsh realities of life. It leaves you with a heavy heart, yet with a bittersweet sense of hope - that true love, no matter how separated by circumstances, never truly fades.

If you are someone who believes that true love isn’t always about happy endings but about lasting emotions and unforgettable connections, this book will touch your heart.

She Was Only Mine by Abhinav Ojha tells the quiet, slow building love story of Aarav, a young software engineer starting his life in Delhi, and Swati, the café owner’s daughter who slowly becomes a part of his everyday routine. Their connection grows through small, ordinary moments—tea breaks, easy conversations, evening walks and it all feels very real and very desi, especially knowing it’s drawn from true events.

But just when their relationship starts feeling steady and real, the story takes a sharp turn. Aarav suddenly disappears & that silence becomes the hardest part to read. You can clearly feel Swati’s hurt and all the questions she never gets answers to. The book also touches on caste, family expectations, and the pressure of choosing between love and tradition—things that make the story feel relatable and honest.

Even though the story has emotion, the writing feels a bit rough. There are grammar mistakes, missing punctuation, and some sentences that read oddly. Aarav also comes off immature at times; he chases Swati mostly because of attraction, pushes her into things she’s unsure about, and then disappears the moment things get tough, which honestly feels unfair. Swati, on the other hand, stays so quiet and hesitant that you keep wishing she would speak up for herself. The side characters don’t add much either & the friendships feel shallow. And the ending, with that sudden dramatic letter, feels rushed, almost like both of them stopped trying before the real fight even began.

I wish I can give this a negative rating because that's what this book deserves.

Immature writing
No character Arcs
Man child MMC(He seemed like a catcalling/eve teasing guy)
coward FMC
No build-up
All the Grammatical error(punctuation marks?)
weird sentence formations
Bunch of immature Men(their only goal was to get a girl)
3rd class(surface level) friendships
Unnecessary Drama at the end(they both shouldn't have started this if they couldn't fight for it, they didn't even try. He just talked to his parents once and then went MIA on her, like wtf was that?? God damn act like adults😃 First you purposely go after this girl (only based on looks) then you emotionally force her to go on a trip with you(She had to lie to her parents and all) and then you don't even have the guts to talk to your parents?? If you can leave your family and Isolate yourself in a completely different city then you should have the guts to tell swati the reasoning and end it properly. If you are writing a book based on full Indian society standards then make it believable too.
"This felt like the case of a guy having some fun with other girls for few years before he proceeds and get married to a girl chosen by his family"
That letter drama at the end???
like You knew even before trying that you are not getting married to swati then why would you lead her on for years???

This book felt like a Rage bait instead of Romance book😃

This book was the perfect example of that you shouldn't indulge in what you can never have ☺

Everything was problematic in this book everything, starting off with the stereotypical background of both the main characters. Another example of how india can never develop when people with this mindset reside here.

Nope not at all. Every red flag in one book for the first time ever I got to see something like this lol.

This book could've been better hear me out, it could have been better only if the writing style was a bit more mature.

Nonetheless I didn't like the book I will say this with an open heart, I did not like it. All it had, was the pain reflecting from the main characters who could never be together because of their families.

They both knew this yet they had the urge to use each other and then dump one another. It was a total sh!t show I kid you not.

Cherry on top was their true friends (tru(est)) who helped in breaking their relationship just for some misunderstanding which could've been cleared lol.

Both Aarav and Swati need some serious therapy and I will pay for it myself. Because where were your brains when you knew your families will never accept your other half yet you continue to date each other and use each other only to ghost each other at the end lmao.

They both did not have the balls to fight for their love. The non existent love because it did not seem real to me in any way. It was just an infatuation for a small amount of time and boom they both went their own ways. I don't know how people are even giving this a five star.

What I liked was the cover of the book
Thank you (not)

A love story that starts with coffee and ends with butterflies

Some stories don’t just entertain you—they make you feel young again. She Is Only Mine by Abhinav Ojha is exactly that kind of story. It's warm, it's whimsical, and it's got the kind of charm that sneaks up on you.

It all begins at Agarwal Cafe, where Aarav—new to Delhi, fresh into his first corporate job—spots Swati. That one glance changes everything. What starts as love at first sight slowly brews into something much deeper, wrapped in soft laughter, little moments, and the kind of innocence we often forget love can have.

Aarav’s journey isn’t just about falling in love; it’s about friendships, firsts, and finding beauty in the unexpected. His bond with his two new friends adds the perfect touch of reality and lightheartedness, making the story all the more relatable. And just when you think it’s all sunshine, the twist comes—gentle but powerful—adding depth without losing the warmth.

The best part? This story will give you the giggles. The kind you get when you're texting your crush, or when your heart skips a beat and you don’t know why. It’s the kind of book you read with a smile tugging at your lips and a soft sigh at the end.

If you’re looking for something sweet, sincere, and softly unforgettable—She Is Only Mine is calling your name.

I was first attracted to the story after reading the line "A True Love Story Adapted Into Fiction," and as a reader, we all crave it, right? And after finishing the story, I keep thinking, I need to know where the real characters are now." I can guarantee you would feel the same too if you read it.

In the story, we follow Aarav, who comes to Delhi as a newly appointed software engineer in HCL. He is happy starting a new life , with new friends and new goals in life. He also falls in love with a girl, Swati. They belong to different statuses, different casts, but their love is pure and, in time, becomes more for both of them. But they faced the biggest betrayal in their life, and that changed everything for them.

The story is another example of how casts, family obligations, and, most importantly, bad friendships can ruin your life. The story is so well written that you will feel the pain and betrayal yourself. As for the characters, Aarav is not an ideal character; he's with his flaws, but you will love him and sympathize with him. Swati is the best in the story; you're just simply going to love her.

Overall, the story is going to remind you of all the stories you have heard that were destroyed because of the circumstances. So if you're ready to read a real love story, full of happiness as well as pain, you should pick this up.

Whenever I get a new book and when it says it's based on a real story , my reaction is totally different. My excitement level goes to hundred when it comes to real life stories. I really feel happy to connect with other people's lives while reading the book and when it's based on the love life of someone it's cherry on the top.

So here I am talking about the book She was only mine , here the author Abhinav Ojha has clearly stated that it's based on a real life story. All emotions were poured in this book very wisely, it really felt that a proper film is going on my mind.

The book really is the most happening thing I have ever read. When I saw the book cover I was totally excited to read this masterpiece and when I completed it my reactions were totally different. I literally started crying after reading this story. By the title I had some idea that it may be a sad ending but it was worse than that. Sometimes destiny decides everything in our life and it can really make someone's life incomplete without their love.

Well , I really loved the work of the author and I give a five Star for the book. It was really a good read for me and I really suggest my friends to have this book in their collection.

"She Was Only Mine" is a deeply emotional and heartfelt adaptation of a true love story. It follows Aarav, a newly hired software engineer at HCL, and Swati, the beautiful and spirited daughter of a popular café owner in Delhi. The story gracefully captures the innocence and vulnerability of love. The author beautifully portrays Aarav’s journey from hesitation to confidence as he gathers the courage to confess his feelings to Swati. Their shared moments are warm, sincere, and deeply memorable, leaving a lasting impact on the reader.

But just when everything seems perfect, betrayal strikes from those Aarav trusted the most. The pain and turmoil that follow affect both him and Swati in heartbreaking ways. One of the most striking aspects of the story is its honest take on how caste still plays an ugly role in relationships today. It also emphasizes the importance of choosing friends wisely, as misplaced trust can lead to deep wounds.

This book is not just a love story—it is a moving portrayal of real-life struggles, the sting of betrayal, and the harsh truth that love alone cannot always conquer. The ending is emotional and thought-provoking, leaving a lasting impression on the reader.

She Was Only Mine is a soft, painful, and deeply rooted in the kind of love that grows quietly between two people, Aarav and Swati.
Aarav is the shy engineer trying to build a life in Noida, and Swati, who helps her brother run a tea stall, share a bond that feels simple & sincere. Their late-evening talks, the Varanasi drive and the little things like Aarav dropping her a few steps away from her house so no one sees; these details were genuinely beautiful. I liked how the book touches on casteism and societal pressure in a very real way. Knowing that the story is inspired by true events adds weight to the heartbreak and the sacrifices both characters make. But I also want to be honest about the drawbacks. The writing and editing kept pulling me out of the story. Missing apostrophes, inconsistent grammar , typos made certain sections harder to get through. Many sentences were a bit awkward too. Despite that, the sincerity of the author shines through. You can feel that this story meant something, that it came from a personal place. And that sincerity is what makes the book still worth giving a chance. So if you enjoy quick, emotional stories about love, loss and the harsh realities of societies you can give it a read.
