It's an ok method but the exercises are mostly just repeating the text, which can be worthwhile depending on how you use them but... it can also be really boring.
If you do those exercises differently than I did, or not at all, or just a few, maybe you will find it less boring. Basically you need to know why you want to do them, which aspect of the language you want to work on and do them (or not) based on this. Maybe read one chapter, do one or two exercises, move on to the next chapter, do one of two exercises, etc. and only later do more exercises from the previous chapters.
You can also just read and not do anything. Or use the texts as a resource for versión exercises by translating them to your first language(s) (or to another language you know better than Spanish...) (Yeah, I have no idea what the English term for this is... I only know the French terms! Thèmes et versions!)
Based on my own boredom alone I'd have given two stars, but I see how someone could use it differently and enjoy it (and actually finish it, oops!)
