Not my favorite, but better than the last one ;)
It was a bit repetitive. Selena teared up or was stressed to all hell or snapped at people, Zirene was an idiot again, Kaede was even worse asshole than before, Circuli mates were sweet and caring. A lot of sex scenes that didn't feel unique enough to be repeated. I was happy with Ryzen's and Zyxel's presence, they both deserved their time. The alone time with Zyxel was cute, but Selena's acceptance of him was a bit weird and all over the place, first she said that she doesn't know if there was a place for him in her life, then she claimed him in the next moment. I liked the twist and that she did claim him after the reveal, it would be awful if she didn't. Ryzen should have already joined the clan, he was a sweet guy, and Kaede's anger that he dared to kiss Selena back was so annoying. She kissed the guy, the guy clearly liked her, so no wonder he enjoyed the kiss! Kaede got really unhinged and not an attractive kind of unhinged either.

Series is getting slow. Too much postulating among the men, introspective internal monolinguals, and hypothesizing about future.

Wish they were more in the present and the characters were all showing growth and development. Most are all the same as when they were first introduced. Selena swings wildly from damsel to anger. She easily snaps at people more saying or doing something impulsive when she consistently does the same.

Hoping the next one allows for more growth and plot.

Also stop naming so many characters with Z names its getting confusing 😂 throw an X or W in

Unfortunately, my least favorite of the series so far. Felt kind of drawn out and Kaede's attitude is very unattractive for this book! It's a little hard to understand Selena's.. "acceptance" of his behavior vs some of the other things that happen that upset her more so. However, very glad to learn more about the Circul princes and have mom and cubs reunited! <3 And the reveal at the end! *gasp*

This book was SO worth the wait. All Selena wanted to do was enjoy her clan and reunite with her children. But life for Selena has never been that easy. She has been through so much, but the Stars keep piling more and more on her. At least she has a strong support system to rely on. Her relationships with not only her mates but her friends and family strengthen and grow in this book. I LOVE how fleshed out this cast is. Every character is clear, unique, and easily identifiable from everyone else, even new characters we meet in this book. This book really shines when it comes to the characters.

I loved getting to see more Ryzen in this book! He’s one of my favorites and I want him to commit to Selena like yesterday! The progress in his and Selena’s relationship was great though.

Zyxel was great in this book and that revelation!!!! I saw parts of it coming but other parts definitely blind sided me! I can’t wait to see how it changes what everyone knows.

Kaede. Ohhhh Kaede. I love him so much but he really probably needs some help once Selena isn’t in constant danger because this level of alertness cannot be good for his mental faculties. His constant feeling of failure is hurting his relationship with Selena. At least he’s trying, but it’s unfortunate he can’t relax because threats keep piling up and that prophecy is still hanging over their heads.

Zirene was…Zirene. More groveling to be had. He’s such a “dimstar” sometimes but I love how willing he is to admit he’s wrong, at least to Selena, and doesn’t try to sweep his shortcomings under the rug.

The Circuli were great in this book. We don’t get as much of Xylo and Odelm, but I did love seeing Odelm start to grow more confident in his relationship with Selena and in general. It was great seeing more of Z’fir and V’dim now and seeing their personalities shine a bit more.

I can’t wait to see how Act 3 of this series plays out. This has genuinely been one of my favorite series and I’m so glad we still have 3 books before it’s over. That ending though. I can’t wait to find out what happens next!!

"Everything Selena Touches, She Changes."

Project: Adapt has always been a comfort read for me. I can re-read the whole series with a smile on my face. This series feels like home, and Selena and her mates feels like family. Oh my Stars, how I missed them.

After returning home, Selena wants nothing more then to surround herself with her clan, children, family and friends.... but is forced to meet her people and take part of some annual Aldawi politics.

I loved that we got to see the children interacting with Selena and the clan in this book, after they were sent away to be protected.

I enjoyed discovering answers to mysteries and questions left open... and Stars, was I surprised by a lot of them. Tera/Jade had put a lot of care and foreshadowing for a few of the things.

While some questions were answered, we are now given new ones that needs to be answered... including THAT ending!

I can't wait for Error! I just hope the wait isn't too long. <3

After returning home again from being kidnapped all Selena wants to do is relax with her family. Unfortunately politics get in the way and rather than spending her time with her mates and her children Selena is once again off planet to deal with some Aldawi traditions and meet her people. What else is a ruler to do but follow the intricate needs of her court and help to get her people settled. Despite all the calm life has its twists and much will happen that keeps Selena in her toes. This is a great if somewhat mellow book after the last one’s excitement of the kidnapping. A lot of unanswered questions get answered or but there is enough excitement to keep you reading and I loved how the relationships developed in this book. It was a great read and I'm excited for the next book.

Excited to continue

I love the characters and plot this series has taken on. I was excited about this continuation and look forward to what happens next. The only criticism I have is that this book felt drawn out and there was too much repetition with the same character and then again from another characters pov. For example Selena and the clan's concerns kept being repeated without adding anything new. It detracted from the momentum. Otherwise I love these characters and look forward for what comes next.

Plans are made to announce Selena as the Beacon, the female head of the Aldawi empire at the Harvest Festival. No one expects the third prince to show up but he does mid-way through the festival to take part in the mating games. Kaede and Zirene both exhibit their jealous traits with Zirene learning to grovel again. The relattionship between Royak and Vizkik is revealed. Then there is an enticement to read the next book.

Selena the surprises keep coming

This has made some things clearer in regards to Selena and her genetics. I also see that Zaede is in need of some help with sharing. I like that she is starting to involve herself in Aldawi politics because it makes her stronger. It also makes her look like she is in the same league as the Sovereign plus her consorts have a good edge as being in the loop of other dangers.

Another mate

Selena and Z attend the harvest festival on Mamsi's planet to announce Selena as the Beacon. Cubs have grown and they have much affection for their mom. Kaede continues to have jealousy issues. The cowardly third prince arrives before the mating game
