This is a well-celebrated, historical figure in California. I was not informed of this historical person until I moved to California, and wondered why we got a day off for him (mainly state workers). He truly fought for the rights and fairness of work equity for migrant workers, which he knew firsthand. I finally gained some insight about this Mexican-American leader. We do have to stand for something...and fight for the people.
