Dr. Juniper Thorton never imagined she’d move back to her small hometown of Greyson Gap, but when the opportunity to open her own family therapy practice presented itself, she decided it was time to return and get some answers about what happened to her birth mom. But Junie quickly gets distracted by the wacky townsfolk who seek her help and the sexy fire chief who reminds her of a boy she once knew.
Eddie Barker, Greyson Gap’s fire chief and most eligible bachelor, has been living a quiet life in the rural town where his grandfather lived. A furniture builder at heart, he prefers crafting wood into beautiful objects instead of looking for a potential love interest. But then Junie Thorton shows back up in town, and he feels a flicker of flame reignite in his heart after being dormant for so long. When Eddie’s past rolls in and mentally crushes him, he has to figure out if he can risk his heart for Junie and put his trauma finally to rest.
But once Junie discovers the answers she’s been so desperately seeking about her birth mom, it triggers fears in Eddie he’s kept long buried. Junie must decide whether her family, her new practice, and Eddie are worth hanging on to, or return to Atlanta and put Greyson Gap in her rearview mirror for good.
My my my, where do we begin with this story, its number two in the Greyson Gap series, and they are best read in order, but in all honesty if you didn’t realise it was the second in the series, its not the end of the world, as you would keep up, it includes a great bunch of friends, and the main couple from the first story are in this one, but they are secondary characters, and you would get nicely swept away by them. You will want to go to Greyson Gap and even dive into Junie’s practice, even if its for a bunion as well everyone else seems to want to. There are some amazing story lines to this story, that will pull you in and have your heart in your mouth, and some that will have your heart exploding with joy.
-Book 2 in the Greyson Gap series, set in the Blue Ridge Mountains
This is a very cute series that is character heavy with many supporting characters in the townspeople. While I enjoyed the humor from the supporting characters I wished there had been more emphasis on the romance throughout instead. But overall an enjoyable read and series so far that I’ll keep following. Thank you so much to Sophie, personally, for this arc! Definitely check out this series if you like small town romances- and ABSOLUTELY check out my favorite from her: Lost In Tuscany.
It was good to be back in Greyson Gap! I just adore these characters. From the main characters, Junie and Eddie, to all the side ones, they all bring so much to the story. I love the strong friendships- both male and female. Junie and Eddie’s story was sweet and tender. If you enjoyed the first book in this series, don’t miss this one.
3.5 ⭐️ I had higher hopes for this. It felt more like a book about the townspeople than Junie and Eddie- their relationship was secondary to everything else and I never felt any build up or chemistry between them.
How I love the tales Sophie spins with her characters! I feel a connection to the characters and town. I can’t wait to turn each page and fall deeper into Greyson Gap!
If you’ve been around my page for a while, you know my love for Sophie’s books. They are feel-good love stories where the characters will leave a lasting impression on you. You’ll laugh, you’ll swoon, and you’ll want to jump into the pages and be friends with them.
Where the River Begins is the 2nd book in the Greyson Gap series, and Juniper has moved back home to her small town. She is trying to uncover the mystery of who her birth mother is, all while trying to open her on practice (she is a doctor of everything 🤣 iykyk…), and figure out how she fits in.
Throw in the sexy fire chief, Eddie (with some trauma that will tug at your heartstrings), and you’ve got a movie worthy romance! I loved Eddie and how selfless he was to help others.
Sophie is extraordinary at writing secondary characters that bring so much humor and wisdom to the stories. I am always laughing at the shenanigans she comes up with, and this one is no different. The small town played a huge roll in this story, and I loved everything about it! Paula Faye the psychic is my favorite 🤣🤣. She is a hoot!!
If you have not read a Sophie Sinclair book YOU MUST!! I highly recommend you start with either Coffee Girl (still the only book I’ve ever read in one sitting), or the first book in this Greyson Gap series, Where the River Takes You!
I was so happy to see that this series got a second book, but unfortunately I don't think it reached the first one.
I found part of the book confusing, with mentions of many names I had no idea who they were. And more importantly the romance was missing something, it felt like an afterthought in the plot and I could really use more scenes between the main characters.
Absolubtely loved this book and being back in Greyson Gap. Junie and Eddie are such great characters and so happy that they got their happily ever after. Junie got the answers she was looking for and was able to move on. Eddie struggled with his past and, seeing it play out again, crushed him. But he quickly learns that in order to move on, he needs to face it.
I loved the silly and awkward moments in the story. They had me laughing out loud.
