Declan Falco is determined to transform his father’s modest business into an empire—one that’s both lucrative and untouchable. Ambition drives him, but when he meets Vivian, his focus wavers.
Vivian Santos is unlike anyone he’s ever known—strong, guarded, and laser-focused on building a future far removed from the pain of her troubled childhood. Distractions don’t fit into her carefully planned life, and Declan is a distraction she can’t afford.
But Declan can’t stay away. Her resilience and fire captivate him, and he’s willing to do whatever it takes to earn her trust and love—even if it means keeping her in the dark about the dangers that lurk in his world.
When those secrets come to light, and the risks hit too close to home, Vivian must decide if she can forgive Declan’s lies. Can their love survive betrayal, or will the truth tear them apart forever?
This book is a good read. I would say this is mob/gang romance. The plot is good, you don’t lose focus in this book. It starts off slow, but it kinda has its own pace and I like that spices OK would like to see more. Declan is intense and loves hard Vivian. She surprised me. Can’t wait for the next book. I really hope Vivian and Declan is in that one a little bit too.
Wow! Declan is a very intense Dark Romance. Declan meets Vivian and their story goes through some crazy rollercoaster to dark times. Love and separation. This is a standalone book about the Falco brothers, I loved it but it definitely has a lot of twists.
Whirlwind is not enough ofcword for what this dark romance is. It is a tornado in the form of one man, Declan. He has a laser focus on his girl and nothing will deter him from her, Vivian. While things may not go as planned, they eventually get their HEA. Enjoy.
the execution just felt like a flopped. the author focus on the wrong thing throughout the book.
first of all, the indication of "enemies to lovers" was an overstatement because they totally wasn't enemies. the hero was just attracted to the heroine and have a tendency to stare at her etc.
secondly, the background history was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long. it just keeps on dragging, dragging and more dragging. and the "present" chapters were pathetic that i don't even know how the characters can get back together so fast. it totally doesn't make sense to be honest. additionally, with the background story extending to such an extent, i really don't feel any real connection between the characters. their relationship the entire time was just superficial.
in the last like 30-40%, i was like when is the "present" chapters coming but it wasn't and my interest was already at melting point that finishing this book felt like a waste of my time. i should have dropped it when i couldn't see an end to the "past" chapters.
"Then you are mine...and I take care of what is mine. Got it?" That line right there gave me those wonderful goosebumps you get when you read a good book. Kade Charest has a way of writing a morally gray character that you love and can't get enough of. She also does a great job with her character development and building her plot, making the pages turn effortlessly.
Declan, the MMC, has a family business that he needs to protect, and he has a perfect, hard-working woman that needs to be loved and protected too. But how can he do both? Vivian knows what's she getting in to but can she sacrifice everything she worked so hard for? This romance is both mysterious and sexy...very very sexy! A must read for those that love morally gray characters, strong family ties and second chance romances.
I loved this book truly. Kade has the ability to create a smooth story that flows easy and makes the characters relatable. Declan with his broody self will stop at nothing for Vivian which includes letting her go. Vivian, with her past trauma, struggles with the choice of the heart and the mind when they don’t align.
The SPICE in here blew me away. Digging in I thought it would be on the low side based on the story but then BAM there it is hot and steam. 😂
One of those stay up til all hours of the morning to finish. Yes, I did that and I will pay for it today.
This book will have you on the edge of your seat! The spiciness is on point! It is also funny, sarcastic, dangerous and passionate everything I’m looking for in a book!
3.5⭐️ Loved the spice, loved the excitement, always enjoy when it’s written in the area of my hometown so I can realistically picture locations. Can’t wait for the rest of the series!
