The Haunting of Anna Stone was one of my most anticipated reads, and it did NOT disappoint.
Picking up after the chilling events of The Haunting of Chateau de Mornay, this sequel is darker, more sinister, and packed with even more horror, macabre deaths, and—let’s be real— there was a lot of steamy moments (absolutely perfect for SMUT readers).
Anna Stone, one of our main characters, is pushed further into the unknown, and I lived for it.
It was ABOUT TIME Anna turned BADASS! No more weakness as she fully embraced her power. The deep dive into witchcraft was everything.
I absolutely enjoyed the way Blake seamlessly weaved both historical and contemporary witch folklore. It absolutely fascinated and intrigued me...BUT, let’s be clear—this isn’t Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, or Charmed kinda witchcraft. This was dark, seductive, and terrifying.
Anna’s transformation into an immortal felt intense, yet it was exactly what I hoped for. Blake's writing style completely IMMERSED ME. The dark poetry fully evoked my emotions, but it was the added touch of the illustrations, which was the piece de resistance 🤌🏼 that added further gothic horror elements throughout.
I found the pacing lagged at times when the tension built up, and the shifting timelines could be disorienting that I had to backtrack a few times to fully grasp the story’s complexity, but as the story progressed i found that only added to the eerie, unsettling atmosphere, so i couldn't really find fault with it at all 🤷🏻♀️
A Spellbinding, Seductive & Haunting Sequel – Thank You, Blake! If you love horror-tinged witchcraft, supernatural seduction, and an atmospheric, haunting tale, this book is for you.
It was absolute perfection 👌
