The holidays are behind us, but we’ve got more (cursed and dangerous) gifts to Two stories from two wickedly comedic teams! M.O.D.O.K.’s Patton Oswalt and Jordan Blum explore Gotham City’s dark side, and The Flop House podcast’s Brendan Hay and Steven Kostanski spin a Matter-Eater Lad tale that’ll have your stomach churning. This, our deadly final issue, is not one to miss!
The art was good in the first story. And that's all the positives I have to say about this. My original review is filled with expletives and so many F-Bombs, that I would be banned from leaving reviews. I have never seen so little effort put in a comic in such a long long time. This was beyond pathetic. Whoever put this series on the market, needs to be fired. The cover art made it seem cooler than what was inside. Such a blatant lie. I can see why this was 4 issues long. Save your money and go buy a Vault comic for horror.
Worst issue of a mediocre bunch. The Catwoman story was cool but should've ended one page earlier. That last page ruined the aha! moment. Matter Eater Lad was just stupid and gross, and not in a cool or clever way whatsoever.
Catwoman’s story with the demon diamond influencing villains to go from old school campy to modern day grotesque is probably my favorite out of these bunches of spoopy stories.
Matter-Eater-Man has to be up there with one of the worst things I’ve read in comics though.
Honestly, the first issue was the best one. Some of the stories were alright but they mostly got wacky and lacked any horror element. The Dollmaker was the best one. The Catwoman storyline was alright. I found the Joker ending to be a bit interesting but overall just eh. And I didn’t like the Matter-Eater story tbh.

I really enjoy these short horror stories, they give me Goosebumps vibes. I didn't have a hard time picking a favourite, the Catwoman story was waaaayyy better than the Matter Eater Lad one, although it was gross.
