Reese and Verity . . .

Verity Vance, an explosives ordnance officer, core member of one of the country's most sought-after private military security firms, returned to her neighbor’s apartment after teaching a course on bomb threat management. Her neighbor Hendrix, a 75-year-old decorated Navy SEAL vet, had been taking care of her dog Delta while she was away. She opened a certified letter and saw her husband, Federal Air Marshal Reese Donovan, had filed for divorce, claiming her job made her totally unavailable to him and she might as well be living at Hightower’s headquarters. But Delta has a bone waiting at their apartment, so Verity will call Reese later when she is ready to talk about it.

She noticed the herbs Hendrix grows out on the balcony had fallen from the wall and were crushed, as if by a shoe. He told her two police officers had recently visited to discuss his nephew who is always in trouble, but why would they go out on his balcony? She felt the hairs on her neck stand up. Something is wrong, what did she miss? And Delta is scratching at her neck like something irritates her. The security panel has a green light flashing -- someone deactivated the system! She ordered Hendrix to take Delta with him and go down the street to a pay phone to call Silas Hightower who arranged the installation and tell him something is wrong. As he grabs Delta’s collar… one she hadn’t ever worn before even though it looked like her old one… Verity tells him to leave Delta with her and to hurry, being sure to tell Silas about the collar as well, knowing a detonation receiver will be hidden there. Delta senses Verity’s anxiety and wants to comfort her, so she steps out to the balcony forcing Verity to dive over the handrail and into the pool below, knowing there is no way to save her dog in the next few explosive seconds...

This story is amazing, each page daring the reader to turn to the next and continue with the tense, realistic picture the author is creating for us. You will not be able to put this one down, unless it’s just for a momentary deep breath or a sip of water. This is very well-written with excellent character development, making it all even more realistic. Grab your copy and don’t miss this one. There is so much going on and characters you will care about that push you to keep reading. And there is much more that you need to discover!

WOW!! Collision Course, by author Jorgia Yates, was an inspiring thrill ride as it was packed with suspense, action, and emotionally charged chills. Verity Vance has been employed by Hightower Security since she left the Army. As she had been trained by the military, she was trained for deactivating bombs before disposing of them. Upon returning to her apartment complex, after being away for work, she lavished love on her dog Delta before noticing a bomb attached to her collar. From that point on, the Hightower Security Team rallies around Verity -- and even sets the stage for her estranged husband to be a part of her security detail. Throughout this thrilling book, I could hardly put it down!! With each clue that was sought, security always stayed close, yet the friendships she had made stayed closer yet. Verity's husband, Reese, realized that she had made friends with her colleagues and found a solid ground with her faith. As this book drew to a close, Verity and Reese were finding an almost perfect peace with who they were, even with trouble still a step ahead of them. As this book ends, the truth is laid before them: ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME. I loved this book and gave it 5 out of 5 stars!!

Fabulous:
I really enjoyed this Christian romantic suspense novel. It certainly kept me on my toes and I liked how unpredictable it was. The mystery and suspense aspects were well done and there was sufficient meaningful dialogue interspersed with full on action.
I was glad that Verity and Reese got a second chance at their relationship and I was rooting for them all the way. I also enjoyed meeting the rest of the team who were quirky and I am intrigued to hopefully find out more about them in upcoming books.

It takes you for quite the ride!

If you enjoy suspense, you can’t miss reading this book. The characters are so relatable that you begin to feel like you’re there with them.

How scary it must be to have amnesia. Verity wakes up to a world she knew earlier, but has no idea what was happening in her life in real time.

Reese is brought in to hopefully help Verity regain her missing memories. He despises Hightower Security but fights to manage his own feelings and fears, he stays to try to help Verity.

After the roller coaster of the book, you’ll be amazed to see what has occurred and how life has changed for both Verity and Reese.

Verity returns from a conference and starts off a chain reaction. Due to an explosion she gets a severe concussion and her soon to be ex husband is called in by her employer, a private security firm. What follows is a twisted mess where she leaves it up to Christ. A very fast iced and intriguing story.

If I could add a half of another star, I would. This book intrigued me from the time I read the description and it did not disappoint. I was pleasantly surprised when the book started in Pittsburgh because that instantly made it feel familiar. It didn't stay there which was fine after the pitiful event that took Verity's memories and brought her "husband" back to her side. From there, much like Reese, I felt like everyone had an agenda and it was the readers job to try to figure out that agenda as the book led us through the story.

There was action but it was a touch light for a part of the story. Perhaps because this book laid the groundwork for a series which should be good if this book can be used as an example. Reese and Verity's story was compelling. It was clear before their breakup that they simply led separate lives without time for the other. The accident was a second chance but Reese having to lie raised the emotional stakes in the story. We also looked inside Verity's nightmares as she struggled to but the pieces back together.

Silas and the rest of the team are definitely worth getting to know more in future books so I would recommend checking out this debut story.

What do I say about this book? Captivating, interesting, mysterious, funny, sad, emotional rollercoaster, religious base beliefs, heartbreaking, terrifying, and iuplifting. Reese and Verity were struggling with balancing their marriage and carriers before she started at Hightower, but that's where things really started giving way. When she's hurt, Reese is brought in to aide in her recovery, though he's not pleased about the plan of action - at all (and I can see why). The clock is working against Reese and the Hightower team as they struggle to determine who tried to hurt Verity and clear her name. Will they get the answers they need in time?

I voluntarily reviewed a gift copy of this book. Happy Reading Y'all 📚

May contain spoiler info-
IMO - Verity was presented as the 'wronged party' in many ways that I felt were inappropriate. Actions were taken (or not) on her part that drove Reese. Did he have his hand in things? Of course - but the weight that was placed on his shoulders was WAY more than was his to bare. Frankly, the NDA - in a marital situation - needed to have stipulations. From what I could glean, NONE if the members were married. Does that tell you anything?!

I just finished book 1 of the Hightower Security series and I can't wait for the next book in the series. the main characters Reese and Verity Donovan are very interesting . The opening the book is about Verity coming home and getting a legal letter regarding her husband wanting a divorce but before she can do anything about it she is involved with a bomb going off at her home and her dog being killed. When she comes around she has parcel amnesia and thinks that Reese and her are still married. But with her job as a explosives ordnance officer and Reese job as a US Marshall this put them both in very dangerous job. Someone has tried to kill Verity and is making it look like is her husband. Now they have to figure out who it could be and keep Verity safe. There are lots of twist and turns for everyone to wonder who it could be. If you enjoy a good mystery this the series to read.

I liked this Christian romantic suspense. The novel opens with instant action and suspense. The suspense is consistent and builds until the end. Yates provides a bit of a twist in the romance in that the couple is initially set to divorce. Temporary amnesia provides a basis for a rocky romance experience for both of them. There is a good balance of progress in the character relationships and action. The idea of a Christian based private security team is intriguing. (They still hack into systems.) The Christian faith message is clear and well done. The main characters are developed well and were quite likable. There were a few quirky support characters too.

The end of this novel suggests a sequel and I will be watching for it.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book through BookSirens. My comments are an independent and honest review.

This book is an action packed rollercoaster of suspense, mystery, diverse characters and a terrorism. This is the first book by a new author to me and i was totally amazed at the depth of the storyline. Keeping all of the aspects of this story controlled is something this author did well. I was enticed and read this in one sitting. Character development at all levels was spot on and you will enjoy, laugh, and get angry at them throughout the book. The main characters are both independent and strong msybe a little to strong to be in the same relationship. Verity's amnesia was handled well by everyone who cares for her. I totally enjoyed this Christian romance.

Collison Couse is a faith filled, action-packed, romantic suspense novel. Reese and Verity's story is unique in so many ways, and the team at Hightower is awesome! I can't wait to read their stories.

Jorgia pens this story with excellence, and despite this being her debut into Christian romantic suspense, Collison Course is on par with some of the best Christian fiction I've ever read.

I have no doubt that fans of Susan May Warren, Lynette Eason, and Dee Henderson will enjoy Collison Course.

Reese and Verity have been separated for a year now. He is an air Marshall and she's a explosive expert. An explosion has left her with selective amnesia and she still thinks they're married. There is a bomb that is set to detonate via remote access but they need her memory to come back so she can disable it. These two still loves the other but taking care of the threat is first priority. Healing old wounds and communicating is what it's going to take to get their HEA.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Anyone who enjoys crime scene shows like CSI, FBI , or SWAT will love this book.

When Verity's apartment is blown up causing her to experience amnesia the Hightower team is called in to investigate the crime and protect her. Even her husband Reese who has recently served her with divorce papers.

I thought the author did an amazing job of researching before writing this. I want to read more of this series.

Wow! Nonstop action throughout this story, with lots of suspense and intrigue! Did not see the end coming, I usually have an idea but not this time! Characters had lots of depth, there was a lot going on emotionally and spiritually with the two main characters. I loved the growth there, both individually and as a couple. A very well written book. I really enjoyed this story and definitely recommend it!! Looking forward to the next book :)

I really really enjoyed this book!

I have waited for a chance to read it ever since I read the prequel, Covert Risk.

It did NOT disappoint!

Reese and Verity's story is a good one. It kept me engaged and rooting for them the whole way.

Jorgia's writing is awesome.

The Christian aspects of the story are well written as are the technical and action/suspense parts.

Now I will be eagerly awaiting the next book in this series!

This is the first book in a long time that I stayed up late to finish. It was a real page-turner with lots to keep up with. As soon as I finished this book, I ordered and read the prequel story which was not as good but still held my interest. I am now reading the second book in the series and enjoying it too.
The plots are intriguing and more complex than most romantic or Christian suspense stories. I highly recommend this author.

The book showcased a couple, Reese Donovan, a federal air marshal/pilot, and Verity Vance, an ordnance disposal specialist, US Army, who put so much emphasis on their work that they prioritize it over their relationship as husband and wife. After a traumatic stint in Chad (Africa), Verity was disillusioned. Fortunately, she came across HIGHTOWER, a Christian organization whose main objectives included funding missionary work and offering protection and security details in less developed countries. Attracted by its Bible-centered core values, she joined the team to Reese's disappointment and chagrin. The narrative portrayed how her new assignment with HIGHTOWER, involving bringing down a terrorist disguised as an online romance scammer, paved the way for reconciling her differences with her hubby and healing her debilitating amnesia.

The story was well-conceptualized, and the fast-paced action scenes were on point. The reader was always on the edge of nail-biting scenarios. This thriller also stressed the importance of prayer and not to lean on or depend solely on human understanding, since God's mysterious plans in our lives are always the best. It conveyed a beautiful message of trusting divine power against testy situations that produce turbulence and confusion.

Collision Course is a fast-paced, intense suspense novel with a romance thrown in for good measure. You don’t want to miss this one! I love a good suspense novel. There is just nothing like a book that can get your heart racing and make you feel like you’re in the action, while actually letting you be safe and snug wrapped in a blanket and cozy in your favorite chair.

When do I read these books? Well, of course, I read them at night. When everyone else is asleep and my husband is away. Of course, I then jump at every creak and whine that I hear. It wouldn’t be an amazing suspense if I didn’t!

When I read the synopsis for this book, I figured it was the husband’s job that was demanding and made their marriage fall apart. Imagine my surprise as I’m reading the novel and it’s actually Verity! That’s right! You see, she is the one who is the bomb expert, and she is the one who works for the Hightower Security Firm. Vance is an air marshal. So yes, they both have demanding and dangerous jobs, but she’s the one who tries to get blown up, or rather tries not to, maybe.

This book starts off with a bang(literally) and does not stop until the very end, but really it shouldn’t stop there either, because I was not done with these characters and really need more. Thankfully, there is another Hightower book for me to read, but I’m pretty sure the author just needs to keep writing because I’m not done with these guys yet.

I don’t want to give away too much of the book.
But let’s just say Verity has an encounter with a bomb and loses part of her memory. She thinks she is still happily married. Does not remember the divorce papers that were just opened. And so Vance has to decide what to do. Is he going to come back and protect her before someone can finish the job they started, or is he going to keep doing his job and protect the country?

For me, that would be a no-brainer and should be his wife, but you’re going to have to read the book and see what happens!

Collision Course is a unique spin on a clean suspense that completely changes the game. As Verity slowly starts remembering fragments from the past, we also watch an investigation unfold that has the reader just as confused as she is.

This is a very engaging read that has a great balance of mystery and suspense. The intensity builds the deeper you dive into the narrative, making it almost painful to put down. One thing that I believe heightened the suspense for me was the fact that I read this while hunkering down during tornadoes and severe weather in my area. Reading helped keep my anxiety down while also heightening my reading experience.

There are some truly intense scenes that could’ve easily come out of my nightmares and the characters are interesting and engaging. It was a joy getting to know the Hightower team and what they’re all about. I do feel like there is so much more to this team that is just simmering below the surface, and I can’t wait to gather more intel about them in future novels.

This is how you kick off a new series! We got to know the Hightower team in all their glory, and I can’t wait to see what cases and adventures they’ll take us on next.

This is my first book by Jorgia Yates, and I'm sorry to say that I was disappointed. Theclever plot and intense suspense were constantly interrupted by inconsistencies and details that were implausible if not factually wrong. On multiple occasions, there was a change of scene without any explanation, leaving me disoriented in time and space. If, like me, you are a reader who is attentive to the details of context and setting, this book isn't for you.

This book is fantastic and I am so glad that I had the chance to read it. This is the first of book that Jorgia Yates has written and I am sure glad that she did. If your future books are like this you have found a loyal fan. I highly recommend this book to you all.

If you are in the middle of getting a divorce and something happens to make you loose your memory, does this memory lapse give you a second chance at love. Well it did here...and I love the amnesia story. I will tell you a little of the story and then you have to find out the rest by reading this book.

Verity went on a business conference and when she got home she went to her neighbors to pick up her 80 pound lap dog (well that is what Delta thought she was) and then there was an explosion that almost killed her and her neighbor. Verity works for a private security team, the Hightower team. Her husband was Federal Air Marshall Reese Donovan. He is taken off of a plane ready to fly away when he is told of his wife needing him. She is asking for him because of the amnesia she does not remember the impending divorce. When he sees the shape that Verity is in and finds out that someone is trying to kill her he is torn between protecting his country or his wife.

Christian Romance Suspense is a favorite genre of mine. Collison Course by Jorgia Yates is the most recent book I have read. It is Book 1 in the Hightower Security series and it the Debut novel for the author.

I truly was captivated by the intrigue and mystery from this book as soon as I began reading it. The 2 main characters in this book are Federal Air Marshal Reese Donovan and his wife, Verity. Verity and Reese are in the middle of a separation and pending divorce. Verity is critically injured in an explosion and wakes up with Amnesia. Verity's employer, Hightower Security feels that Reese would be the person to help Verity with her recovery. Reese arrives to see how critical his wife is and decides to stay and help her with her recovery. Reese believes someone tried to kill Verity and though on the verge of divorce, he wants to figure out who has attacked Verity. Reese begins to realize that they both have some hurdles to overcome and he also realizes that he still loves Verity. The book is filled with Twists and Turns and really kept me on the edge of my seat. The book is one of Second Chances, Faith and Suspense. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Romance Suspense. AMAZING BOOK!

Wow this was awesome. Full of action and suspense and a whole host of new characters.

Hightower operative and bomb expert Verity is almost blown up and loses her memory, when her estranged husband, air Marshall Reece is called to protect her.

I honestly couldn't put this down. The story grabbed me from the first chapter and didn't let go, especially ramping up towards the end. Emotional and intriguing, with heart racing parts.

Best of all was the intriguing amnesia Verity suffers and the plan to drag Reece into lying to her, but as usual that backfires. Still until chemistry and their connection still resides strong and involving between them.

So well done, this author just keeps excelling in her books and this book sure stands out.
I really enjoyed Verity and Reece and the whole team of complex characters and I'll really look forward to learning more about them in future books.

Brilliant book and highly recommended!!

Awesome debut novel. I love security type suspense novels, and am looking forward to reading more in this series. There was so much to like about this book. Reese and Verity were great and likable main characters. The fact that they were had been separated for a year and were getting a divorce, and only he remembered that was a great part of the plot - I do like a good amnesia story.
I liked the Hightower team, and the author did a great job on the interactions between them, and the friction between Reese and the team because of him being so suspicious.

And the suspense was top notch. Especially the airplane scene towards the end of the book. That scene shows this author has the skills to write great suspense.

Ever since I ran across this author, I have been eagerly waiting to read this book. And I am impressed.
