When life gives you a second chance at being the villain, make sure you’re a damn good one. Getting stabbed by a prince wasn’t on my project management checklist. Neither was waking up as Lady Wren Lee, the infamous villainess of the wildly popular fantasy series A Kingdom of Infernal Flames. But at least I died knowing how the story ends, right?
Wrong.
After watching my adopted family murdered and being executed as a traitor, I’ve been granted a do-over—along with a cheat system sporting a snarky personality that would make any gamer jealous. Now I’m back five years before everything went to hell, armed with future knowledge, business acumen, and a very personal vendetta against a certain murderous prince.
This time around, I’m not playing by the novel’s rules. I’m building an empire, gathering powerful allies—including lethally devoted immortal beings with their own villainous reputations—and making sure my family survives, all while navigating the deadly politics of a fantasy world that thought it could write me off as just another disposable villain.
They say the villain never wins? Watch me rewrite that ending.
Rewriting the Fallen Villainess is a reverse harem fantasy romance featuring a modern woman reborn as a noble villainess, strategic kingdom-building, and morally ambiguous love interests with decidedly possessive tendencies. Follow our protagonist villainess as she flips the script on her own story while dealing with four powerful men who each have their own obsessive ways of showing affection.

I absolutely LOVE the premise... but the story itself meandered all over the place. Things that should have taken a paragraph to describe instead took PAGES, so much that it got repetitive. World building is great and all, but it hit a point where 'dangerous, untamed, feral' was in every other sentence.... there were CHAPTERS of her doing everyday stuff that didn't feel like it moved the plot forward and was confusing as to why it was there. So much could have been summarized in a few pages that would have let us get to the real plot of the story.
DNF @ 66% I really tried. Premise was good but the story telling was like reading off a novel translated from a manhwa if you get what I mean? It read off like those in lunar letters. The romance is not even there? And I’m at 66%? I read a RH romance for the “romance” but of course I want the building and the plot but this story reads off as ok this happens, that happens. It doesn’t show you how FMC see the MC? How she feels or act towards him? Where is the chemistry? Could it be after 66%???? 😳 Anyway, that’s it. I was hoping this would be good, I was waiting for a good transmigration RH like whimsy nimsy but this falls short.
I really enjoyed this book, and I’m definitely planning to read the second one.
There were several aspects I liked: - the reverse harem potential, especially with such a diverse cast of interesting male characters. - her close-knit family: the capable and supportive Duchess, as well as her brother and sister. - the plot, which feels very much like a light novel—particularly the twist involving . - the main character herself: intelligent, resourceful, and refreshingly unique.
All of that has me excited for the next installment. That said, there were also quite a few things that didn’t work for me:
- too many characters. At times, it felt overwhelming—pages dedicated to her analyzing a dozen people who ultimately weren’t that memorable.
- her former family
- a few scenes that stretched believability too far
- the modern elements clashed with the fantasy-medieval setting. I’m personally a big fan of classic fantasy worlds, so mixing in modern touches didn’t sit well with me.
And the most important drawback : the lack of romance. Despite the potential with multiple male leads, there were almost no meaningful one-on-one scenes. With so many characters, the romantic development felt neglected. I really hope this improves in the next book.
I loved this book! I read a lot of RH and LitRPG and I often thought about a book that combines those two genres. This is exactly that. I enjoyed the story line, although I have to say that it got repetitive in some parts. You could tell that the athor doesn't have that much experience or maybe she doesn't have a beta reader who corrects those errors. And one thing annoyed me: The system administrator (I forgot her name). She doesn't add anything to the plot with her "funny" and sarcastic remarks most of the time, the MC doesn't even acnowledge her most of the time, and when she does, she tells her 90% of the time that her commentary isn't appreciated, which I wholehartedly agree with. It was almost like I had a cricital friend or my mother complaining the whole time that the MC wasn't carefull enough or that explained to me very obvious parts of the plot. The first few times, it was funny and then, I almost quit because of that. I mean, the whole time she is with the wolf shifter, this annoying voice is in her head an critizises her for her action, that she isn't careful enough and how spicy it all is. And it doesn't add anything. In my oppinion, you could just delete almost every single line of her that isn't a conversation with the MC and that would fix everything. And the three dots (...) are way to overused in conversations. But still, I loved this book, the story was compelling and I read it front to back in one sitting and am waiting for the next book to read. So it is worth it, even with its shortcomings!
While it was maybe a little simile-heavy in that way that books written by somewhat new authors often are, this book was an incredibly captivating journey filled with fantastical powers, dry humour, and lots of machinations.
Very slow burn, but the world building is important, and you certainly don’t miss it at all with the pace of the story. In fact, we only truly meet one of the MMCs, and he’s got his own machinations that I’m not too happy with. But I digress.
Also incredibly tragic at times, this book kept me on tender hooks counting down the pages, devastated that I was getting closer to the end and knowing I’d have to wait a few months to immerse myself in this world again.
Thanks to both authors for crafting such a fantastically fantastical universe!
I was genuinely happy about this find. I wasn't sure I would like it, but I just could not put it down. Wren, the MFC, doesn’t know it yet, but being hit and left for dead is the least of her problems. To survive, she’ll have to outwit a dangerously stab-happy prince and (spoiler alert) another isekai, protect her adoptive family as they face exile with the help of her loyal golems, and tame Kaleb — a dangerously attractive wolf shifter with secrets of his own. Smart, determined, and with dark magic cursing her attempts at domestic life, the reader just symphatizes. Wren uses every ounce of her cunning to protect the people she loves. With enemies closing in and impossible choices ahead, one just need to sit back and enjoy one's favorite drink. Also, the next book needs to come out soon!
I really enjoyed this novel. What should be excessive transmigraters and time rewind effects actually works in this novel. My only complaints are that the system’s snarky responses don’t hit like they should—they either need to be funnier or sassier, and reading all the status windows gets tedious. I know we need the information but it gets boring when you get further into the novel.
The characters are delightful especially Wren, the main character. I am excited to see how they all develop in subsequent novels. I also love the reversal of the villainous heroine and the caring villainess. It’s an interesting flip. The plot is solid. It balances action with noble politics.
If you like transmigration fantasy love stories give this one a try it’s definitely worth your time.
I rarely write reviews, but this one needed one. It’s definitely the funniest book I’ve read in the past few years, and top three I’ve ever read. Not “smile to yourself” funny but “laugh until you cry” funny.
I would split it into three parts: prep (i.e world building that was serious but interesting), hilarity (dough men, fashionista thread, militant mint…), and primary story progression.
It’s very very slow burn, which I like, I just wish we had met the first ML sooner.
Very much looking forward to the next book.

I absolutely LOVE this book! I was already intrigued by the teaser, but honestly, the story just blew me away. I love how the role of villainess never prevents our FMC from finding her way, protecting her family and keeping true to her moral compass. The blend with video game commentary was the cherry on top. It’s passionate, funny and so thrilling, it keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting for what comes next. I’m anxious to read book two - why does it have to be so long ?! 🥺
This is one heck of a good read. Fantasy comes to life with a bit of humor and a snarky Providence (not AI yet not not real, think gaming narrator with special effect stats like from movie Jumanji with the Rock) I'm feeling the villainous is more noble by far than the scheming Prince and supposed heroine. Bravo to these new to me authors for such an entertaining read,I look forward to the next book.
Wow, what an amazing start to a series. Absolutely loved and am obsessed with our villainess and all of her adventures/schemes. I loved the world building, family orientation, and the love interests. Things are about to get heated/interesting. I cannot wait to see what happens next. Need and want more, please release the next books asap. Love that it is a reverse harem with many interesting, possessive, obsessive, loving, murderous men.
Simplesmente perfeito.

If you are looking to read something different from all the other fantasy/ paranormal / magic / realm travelling reverse harems. Then this book is for you. I normally prefer a little more spice to my books but the humour and plots within plots kept me reading. Can’t wait to see where book two takes us.
i liked the premise but everything happened quite smoothly, i didn’t feel any stakes. plus literally nothing happens in this book, we get pages and pages and pages of her explaining her plans but nothing comes to fruition! we barely get any interaction with the leading male characters too. also i didn’t like the twist with her family? just a little too perfect.
Good book promising actually but where’s the romance it’s all in our heads nothing actually manifests in their lives. It’s just too slow burn but promising love the FMC not cowering and learning from past experiences. I LOVE a character that learns. Then I don’t have to get irritated. Can’t wait for book two
Just wow, I could not put this book down. From start to finish the storyline and narrative sucks you in. I haven’t ever read anything quite like this and I’m so sad to have to wait for the second book. The writing is complete genius. Bravo!!!
Why is this not a bestseller? Awesome protagonist, a smart, sensible, capable woman doing everything to protect her family. Lots of humour around the RH trope and I love the cheats system! Can’t wait for bk 2. Seriously, should be a best seller. Also, impeccably edited.
- AI cover. Ew. - In the past year the author has published a new 400+ word book monthly (also writing gay romance under the name Zara Lee). Impressive speed for a human writer😐 - Look at the other books written by this author. Yeah, nothing else to say abt that
A dash of sass, a boon of nobility, a volume of snark and shade, all set off by a lady trying to protect her family..by rewriting their fate. A slew of characters and plot points, but not difficult to follow. A good start for a series.
i am such a sucker for stories with transmigration. i found this story in particular to be pretty entertaining, good building up of our “villainess’s” plans to rewrite her story. Had some creative commentary. IM READY FOR BOOK 2 NOW.
Really good. I love the premise, the characters, the plot. The only negative I have was the amount of snark/sass from Providence the customer service representative.
