I lost my voice the night my brother tried to kill me. Eighteen months later, Silence is still my prison.
By day, I’m just the quiet girl serving lattes at a café. By night, I slip on a mask and become Vanta—untouchable, desired, safe behind the glass of a cam screen. No one knows who I am. No one can.
Except two men have found their way past every wall I built. Together, they unravel me piece by piece, until I don’t know if I’m more terrified of breaking…or finally being whole.
But they aren't the only ones watching me. I have a stalker who knows my secrets. He knows my real name. And he’s closer than I think.
When obsession turns deadly, the masks will fall. And I’ll have to decide if I can be strong enough to fight for a future—with the men who make me feel safe, seen, and wanted—before the monster who haunts me finally takes more than just my voice.

Maree Rose is a romance writer based on the East Coast of Australia. When she isn't writing she is reading or spending time with her family. She has dabbled in writing since she was a little girl but finally took the plunge to publish in 2023. She loves a good insta-lust/insta-love story and did experience this with her own marriage.
Well , well ,well let's get into it shall we sadle up and get in for a ride , because with this book its just the right splash of sugar and spice... all right maybe heavy on the spice 👀 but ain't that nice ;). As always do make sure to check your trigger warnings , after checking if all is good well , order up ! Because maree rose served and I devoured what she was dishing and you should to... seriously eat it up. This was so good !!!! And not only because I was ovulating alright. We start from the way on how The characters were written in a way that it does feel that they fit perfectly together , It felt natural reading and never once didn't make sense to me it just flew together nicely the relationship between them, and yes THEM indeed , this is a why choose ;) with our fmc who it was impossible to not like , she suffers from self mutism by as the result of trauma from her past , and has that need of wanting control in her life , and to just feel at peace her character development was truly beautiful and I felt glad for her and was honoured to of had read her story she is so very strong. Than we have our two mmc.... which these guys worship at her God damn feet ! They are so protective and supportive of her and of course accept and love their woman ....indeed they do ,her and her many identities ... now ladies if he can't love your multiple personalities just find you a male duo like jace and Theo alright ? Yeah it's easily 5 stars , what an honour it was to be able to be apart of the arc team for this.
"There's strength in vulnerability, in trust, in allowing myself to be completely seen and known by the people I love."
Well this had a bit of everything! Steamy MFM romance. Stalker included. A gruesome murder or two. A twist or three that I didn't see coming and spice that is off the charts spicy!!
I love an FMC who comes into her own throughout the story. Wren has multiple personalities that all revolve around silence but when she finds her voice...boy does she find it! The power dynamic between the three main characters was so good and those boys fell hard for her.
"I breathe them in - their heat, their tension, the sharp edge of something that feels like surrender and chaos all at once. I might’ve designed this fantasy. But I never expected getting caught would feel this good."
Even though there were some parts that felt a little unrealistic and there were some corny lines, overall it was such a good, spicy read that had me flipping pages as fast as I could!
"She's not the girl I thought she was. She's not just sweet, or shy, or silent. She's fire in disguise. Sharp edges under pink hair. She's three fantasies stitched together, and none of them are what I thought. But somehow, that just makes me want her more."

🎮 “you are my queen,” i whisper, the words spilling out unbidden.“ i will worship at your feet for the rest of my life…”
silence. vanta. wren. gamer. camgirl. barista.
a deeply traumatised fmc living a life full of pain and mystery, and silence. trauma took her voice and her life, she lives in darkness and disguise until she meets two guys who completely change her life.
with them, she regains control (dear lord those scenes 🥵) and remembers how to scream in the best way possible
this story takes us on a journey of blood, sweat and tears in every way you can imagine ;) his book had me kicking my feet giggling, squeezing my thighs, and shaking with anticipation about what’s coming next. very quickly became one of my favourite maree books. i’m in awe.
maree rose is the queen of mfm romance, spicey scenes and an incredible plot
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ five star read and cannot wait to get my hands on a physical copy
Obsessed. Push My Buttons brings a sexy thriller with MFM dynamics with a couple plot twists and multiple hidden identities. It was like a sexy game of clue and I couldn’t put it down.
Wren is hidden in plain sight. Silently moving through life after a traumatic event changes the course of her life and world. She never expected to find Jace and Theo or finally learn the truth of what happened all those years ago, but when she does - it’s explosive.
Push My Buttons pulled me in right away and didn’t let go. The pacing is sharp, the twists keep you hooked, and the dark, steamy elements hit exactly where they should without holding back. The heroine feels strong and capable, and the layered relationships make the stakes even higher. It’s intense and not afraid to get heavy at times, but that’s part of what makes it so gripping. If you love dark romance with mystery and heat, this one definitely delivers.
We have gamers, camming, a mute FMC, nerdy and dorky MMC's (in a hot buff way) and a good ol sprinkle of trauma to add to the mystery of it all. Or should I say murder mystery.🙈 Honestly, the growth Wren goes through was just amazing to read. She's a badass. 🥰
Maree Rose is one of my favorite MFM authors. This was an absolute delight to read. Had some of my fav dark romance tropes (trauma, mystery, stalker drama that kept me guessing). Wren was so incredibly strong and I love seeing her character growth! This was a ride (and I loved every second of it!)
Wow, wow so many twists and turns. Wren is such an interesting person who has gone through a lot and found Jace & Theo. I like the stalker aspect it was very hard to pinpoint who it was. Love the plot and the characters were really great!
Maree Rose is the QUEEN of MFM Dark Romance!!! This dark romance has it all! A little trauma sprinkled with hot men and a stalking mystery to solve…sign me up! A strong FMC who shows so much growth throughout this book and how can you not love Jace and Theo!
The two scenes where she Wren gains her control back had my both fanning myself and screaming GET IT GIRL!!! One word…CRAWL!!
Had the privilege of being an ARC reader and can say Maree ATE AND LEFT NO CRUMBS with this one 😍😍!
The MMCs are so genuine with the FMC. They embrace and adapt to the FMC struggles with such patience, quiet strength and determination it’s beautiful.
I especially loved that the story revolves solely around the FMC even with dual POV, it’s never taking anything away from her story. And how selfless she is about the people around her despite what she is going through.
Maree your writing and the audience you entertain is a testament to you. Can not wait for the next book 🤗🤗
THIS BOOK WAS PHENOMENAL!! Dark, slightly damsel in distress like, trauma-induced muteness, gamers, cammers, stalkers, serial killers, secret identities, MFM, like, it LITERALLY has it all. I loved Jace and Theo... both with their own faults, open to making Wren happy no matter what she wants, protective, supportive, you name it, they got it! And Wren... so unbelievably strong as our FMC. Hiding her identity, running from her serial killer brother who tried to murder her a few years back. But... things aren't always what they seem. The way Maree weaved this web was incredible. Maree is a new-to-me author. This definitely won't be the last book I read from her!
Wren had lost her voice the night her brothers had tried to kill her. Even eighteen months later, silence remains her prison.
By day, Wren is just the quiet girl who serves lattes at a cafe. By night, she slips on a mask and becomes Vanta – untouchable, desired, safe behind the glass of a cam screen. No one knows who she is. No one ever can.
Except there are two men who have managed to find their way past every wall that Wren has built. Together, Jace and Theo unravel her piece by piece, until she doesn't know if she's more terrified of breaking...or finally being whole at last.
But Jace and Theo aren't the only ones who are watching her. Wren has a stalker who knows all her secrets. This stalker knows her real name. And he's closer than Wren thinks.
But, when obsessions turn deadly, all the masks will finally fall. And Wren is going to have to decide if she is strong enough to fight for a future – with the men who make her feel safe, seen, and wanted – hopefully before the monster who is hunting her finally takes more than just her voice.

There is some content and scenes in this book that are not suitable for all readers and could be triggering for others. Always remember that your mental health comes first at all times.
Push My Buttons is a part of the Behind the Lens series an interconnected world with this book being written by Maree Rose.
Let's settle in, get comfortable, and get ready to talk about the ride that is Push My Buttons, a book that hits with all the right splashes of sugar and spice.
Right from the very beginning I have to say that the characters are all written in such a way that it feels as though they all fit perfectly together, reading about them all together just felt natural, made perfect sense to me, and they just flowed perfectly together as their relationships started to bloom between them, and I loved that this edition of Behind the Lens is a Why Choose.
Wren our FMC is just so impossible not to like. My heart breaks for what she's been through and her self-imposed mutism that is a result of her brother's attempting to kill her, the resulting trauma, and her desire to need to take control of her own life after all she's been through, you just feel as though there is a peace to her character development that was so beautiful. And I felt honoured and blessed that I had this opportunity to read her story and in a way be a part of it for a short period of time. Wren is truly so much stronger than anyone ever realized.
We have the opportunity to meet Jace and Theo our two protective MMCs and I have to say that my God do these guys ever worship at Wren's feet. I have to say that I just love how super protective but more than that super supportive of her they are and they are so accepting of this woman... and they not only accept Wren as she is, they accept her alter identity. And ladies, if your guy can't accept all your identities and your multiple personalities, then he's not worth it and you really need to find a duo like Jace and Theo. God, especially Jace.
I can't say how much I fell in love with all these characters. All these characters kept each and every chapter of this book so enthralling and had you wanting and needing to see what was going to happen to Wren, Jace, and Theo next. This is such a seriously addicting book and no matter how fast I read, I felt like I couldn't read fast enough to find out what was going to happen or to fulfill my addiction. That is how good this book is. And this book kept you in suspense the entire time trying to figure out how things were going to unfold. Remember, Wren has a stalker. This is just such a roller coaster of emotions that will punch you in the gut over and over again with surprise twists and turns.
If you love broken FMCs who eventually find their own voices, possessive MMCs who will not let go, a great story that blends danger perfectly with passion and hope then Push My Buttons is going to be your next must-read. I have to say that Maree Rose has given us a perfectly crafted emotional triumph that will live rent-free in your mind long after you have closed the book.
Another great read in the Behind the Lens series. Maree Rose knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat in this suspense filled romance. Filled with plenty of spice from the MFM dynamic as Wren, Theo and Jace all navigate the hidden threats on Wrens life. Being a Cam girl was a way for Wren to make money for bills. Working by day as a barista barely covered the rent. So Working for Lorna at Behind the Lens, known only as Vanta, was a great way to release her hidden sexy vixen. Hiding from her past and being mute due to an injury to her throat, she hides well, or so she thought, until HE finds her. Her stalker! A stalker who knows too much about her past. Knows her as Vanta in behind the lens, as Lillianna from her past and also as Wren! When she is invited to work on the calendar shoot for Behind the Lens, Wren accepts. She invites 2 of her subscribers to her channel not realising that she knows Theo and Jace through the coffee shop where she works and as Silence, the gamer! Jace and Theo have admired Vanta since she began her channel, so when an invite comes for them to join her in a photo shoot and video, they both eagerly accept! Chemistry ignites and their feelings take over, and they soon realise who the other is....all known to each other outside of the set! They become a triad, enjoying each others company and when Wren reveals her past, Jace and Theo step up to be her guardians. Protecting her as much as they can. But her stalker, obsessed with her, is never too far away. I was so overwhelmed when Wren found her voice again......such a pivotal moment in the book as she continued to fight to maintain her independence and not let her stalker dictate how she lived. Trying to stay safe is not so easy as Levi, her stalker is closer than anyone realises, and can easily get to her and steal her away from her guys!! How Wren rises above her trauma and her fear is challenging for them all as they try and cocoon her away from any threats. A well written story well worth a read 5 outstanding stars from me!
Maree Rose is easily a go to author for me. Her use of the MFM dynamic is always superb in the execution. The MMCs are right on point with their devotion and obsession with the fmc in her books. The chemistry with the characters were smooth and seamless. The attraction is palpable between the three of them. And this book is no different, I enjoyed the mystery with Wrenn, running from her past and assuming new identities, in order to separate herself from her brother and the crimes he committed. She is a strong willed, independent woman who has made it this far and didn't need no man, let alone two take control of her life. She is more than capable of taking care of herself And who doesn't love a good Stalker.
Both Jace and Theo are equal parts techie/gamers and hot love interests.. They fell for all parts of her, unknowingly, and decide to go into it together and share. Maree creates these MMCs are most def a why choose, but also has a tag team mentality. They will share their FMC and do it with obsession and also devotion. The will help, but they will also step aside if needed, in order to give her the space she needs and be her support with out being a dominating force.
She def knows how to make the spice oh-sooo spicy. Def read the triggers cos if you are into dirty, very descriptive sexy times, where the fmc is the center of attention and the mmcs work together to ensure she is taken care of, this is for you ;)Why choose when you can have them both.
I loved the mystery, the not knowing until we needed to know. The twist at the ends was great, you knew who you were rooting for and was happy with how it came all together. I am so looking forward to Luciens story, which I know will be soooo good;)
I had the opportunity to be part of the advance reading of this book I am giving my honest review and say it is easily a 5 star read for me. As all of Maree Roses' books A true fan.
Back with ANOTHER Dark Romance but this time make it WHY CHOOSE 🥵 Eighteen months after surviving a trauma, her brother trying to killer her. She had no memories of the attack and forced mutism on her. So she ran from her past, changed her name and never looked back. Now a stalker is watching her and they know her secrets. 👀
I adored Wren! Her silence isn’t just physical, it’s symbolic. It represents her trauma, the suffocating weight of a violent event she barely survived, & the emotional prison she lives in. Barista & gamer by day. By night, Wren becomes Vanta, the enigmatic cam girl behind the screen, untouchable & in control! She doesn’t just endure her trauma, she fights to reclaim her identity and voice. Her strength and resilience make her story unforgettable!
Jace & Theo🥵 Two men who see past the masks she’s so carefully built. They couldnt be more different from eachother but are everything Wren was scared of letting in but found something she never would have imagined! With Theo, she learns to trust safety and stability again. With Jace, she rediscovers desire, playfulness, and courage. Both of them are a perfect balace. The way these men respected her boundaries, the slow trust that built between them, the genuine connection, it made my heart ache in the best way. The stalker aspect of the book, was an heart pounding! It kept me guessing the entire time & flipping the pages! The ending was definitely unexpected!
The spice was offfffff the charts are usual 🥵 It had me giddy & kicking my feet!! I truly adore this author! Her books are always layered and with characters written so well, its hard not to fall in love with them! This story was no different! It was spicy and tender but so messy and raw! I couldnt get enough of it and i cant wait to see what she has in store for us next!
🔥 Another spicy gem from Maree Rose 🔥 Hidden identities, a stalker in the shadows, and an FMC on the run—this book had me guessing the whole way through 👀 Maree’s pacing is chef’s kiss and, as always, I devoured this in a single binge-read session (okay… two at most 😅).
I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, and now I’m already desperate for the next installment, I need a certain characters book immediately.

Welcome back to the Behind the Lens shared world. Push My Buttons by Maree Rose is the latest release.
This book is deliciously dark in all the right ways. Trauma, stalkers, killers, mutness, secrets identities, and two hot gamer boys. The twists in the plot keep you on the edge and blow your mind niece.

Wren has had a rough past. Filled with trauma that has left her mute. She is the quiet, pink haired barista by day that everyone takes as shy but also fierce. ista by day that everyone takes as shy but also fierce. At night, she is the quiet gaming cam girl, looking for an outlet to help her move on.
Jace and Theo are two guys who decide to visit the coffee shop daily to catch glimpses of Wren and hopefully be able to get closer to her. At night, they stay up gaming with quiet cam girl having some fun.
What happens when the two worlds collide? When someone from the past just won't let go and decides to come back for what is theirs?
The tension is just right in this book. The edge of your seat fear for the characters always being there. Also, there is the bond that grows between the tree of them that is 100 percent hands down incredible. The protectivness and slight possessiveness from the boys to Wren is just what she needs to feel safe, loved, and to move on.
This book was amazing. I feel like there are not a lot of books (or maybe I'm not looking in the right places) that show an physical side effect after a person experiences horrific trauma, but Push My Buttons does that and EXCELS!
I loved getting to follow Wren in this story. Having faced trauma in her childhood, she is left mute. Working at a cafe by day having left her old life behind, she isn't an outgoing individual, but does have a touch of ferocity behind her. By night though- despite the fact that she is mute, she has found her niche at Behind the Lens, gamming while camming as her alter ego, Vanta, all while attracting the likes of many, including Jace and Theo who I absolutely ADORED. Having both fell for her, they decided to share. I loved getting to watch them be this fierce, protective unit for Wren. They were able to roll with the punches and give her everything she needed all while being just possessive enough to not drive her away, especially given that danger still lurks with Wren and her stalker. The moment between these three were beyond hot, and let me just say, as someone who is not a video game girl in the least, I was left a little curious as to whether or not this is what gamer guys dreamed of at some point.
What I also loved about this story was the suspense of it all. A lot of these stories in this series have been sort of angsty romances that maybe had a touch of darker elements but this one truly has the dark, suspenseful vibe that kept me hooked from beginning to end. My only complaint was that it felt like the ending just happened, that there wasn't much of a lead in to it, but other than that this was a fantastic read and it is really making me sad that this series is almost over.
Wow, I absolutely loved this! I was hooked from the first chapter and enjoyed every page afterwards.
The characters were unassuming yet compelling, and I adored them on a whole new level, while their story unfolds so naturally and beautifully as everything falls into place. They are each a third of a whole in this relationship even though the men both focus on Wren.
Even though Wren is mute, she manages to express so much through her body language and her mannerisms while using sign language, and I can totally see why Jace and Theo are drawn to her. She’s hiding and healing from trauma, but she still manages to have this bright spark about her. Her pain is very real, and I felt it with my whole heart.
Despite the men making a silly decision to try and protect Wren, you can’t doubt their intentions or their feelings towards her. They are both deeply supportive and protective of Wren, and I adored how incredibly patient and encouraging they are without being pushy. Their unwavering acceptance gave me all the warm and fluffy feels. Theo learning sign language for Wren and Jace supporting her through her panic attack made me swoon so much!
We can’t forget the loyal best friend either! Maya’s a force to be reckoned with, but I love her spirit and she helps to bring Wren out of her shell.
And in terms of the stalker, I thought I’d literally suspected everybody but the MMCs; my mind was plotting out all these theories, but it was completely unexpected when the truth was revealed! I loved how it kept me guessing throughout while also making me feel creeped out by the stalker's actions.
I would highly recommend this book! Honestly, it's amazing!
I may be bias because I’m a huge Maree fan, and also as a gamer myself this was something I found easy to devour. She has knocked another out the park with this book.
Wren. Vanta. Silence The pink haired silent barista, the silent temptress cam girl, the deadly sniper in a Wasteland world, all three the same woman, all sides of the same mysterious coin.
But Theo and Jace don’t know that, or that all three people they interact with are actually all one woman; you see Theo and Jace are two very different but equally as delicious businessmen , who happen to work for the same company, happen to also be gaming partners, and unknowingly happen to both watch the same silent came girl. Both falling for the pink haired barista every morning as they order their coffee trying to get her attention, both in awe of their silent gaming partner and her precision, and both tipping big as they watch the sultry movements of Vanta, the masked adult entertainer online.
Until she as Vanta invites them both to a cam photo shoot where she recreates the wastelands of her favourite game to play the perfect cat and mouse game with her highest bidders. And soon they realise exactly who is behind each mask, as the connections all fall into place. Why choose when you can share…right fellas?
But the real mystery is WHY she is silent , why she hides, and why is her past now coming back to stalk her. With two men determined to protect her, will she find out who is following her every move? Well that I won’t spoil for you. Because it’s a thrilling ride you should experience for yourself. The spice is definitely there between the three, but the storyline is the real rollercoaster. Loved this read!
Maree rose great job as always! I honestly stopped reading the Behind the Lens series due to life conflicts but when I saw Maree Rose was the next in the standalone series I had to sign up.
Push My Buttons is about Wren who is silent in everything she does. Wren is the quiet barista who uses ASL to communicate, Vanta the mask wearing cam girl who doesn’t speak, and Silence in the gaming world. But Wren is also the girl who has been abused and hasn’t spoken about it for almost 18 months, literally! She is choosing to be mute because she doesn’t know what happened to here back at home. But she’s also the sister of the Reaper, a famous serial killer.
Wren grows so much through out this book it’s amazing. Overcomes all the obstacles in life all with the help of a few people! Jace and Theo are both opposites that attract. The banter between those two alone is hilarious in itself. The emotions they both show that you didn’t see coming is real. Maya is the best friend everyone needs. Always there for you no matter what. The spice was great in this book. Just the right amount. But I do have a question? How do you have fun when you know you have a head injury? I would pass out!!!! JUST SAYING!
This tells you everything you need to know about this book:
“Happiness can find you in the strangest of places. Sometimes it takes breaking apart completely to discover who you truly are—and who will love you, not despite your broken pieces, but because of how beautifully you’ve put yourself back together.” 🩵
I think I've just read my favourite book in the BtL series to date.
Rose has perfectly delivered a mix of spicy cam-girl content, romantic suspense, character development and a plot that hooks you from the very first page. The addition of video gaming into all of this was the icing on the cake for me - and ngl, kinda want to see the video the trio ended up making purely for how the set design sounded!
Wren was the perfect FMC. The right balance of spunky, strong, and focused, despite everything she's gone through. I love that we're as kept in the dark as she is about the events of the night she lost her voice, and her journey to recovery was beautiful to read. I love that she remained unapologetically her throughout everything, but gave herself the chance to fall in love with her men.
Theo and Jace were fantastic. Complete opposites of each other who complimented perfectly in their friendship, and even more in the relationship with Wren. I love that Jace had his own demons to battle, but he put that aside for Wren, and that Theo was able to show a stronger, grittier side, despite being the clear sunshine/golden retriever of the trio.
I can't say much more without giving the plot away - but if you love dark romantic suspense with a healthy side of spice, amazing character growth and a plot that has you on the edge of your seat until the very last page, this is the book for you - but do heed those TWs.
Thank you to the author and the Behind the Lens shared world team for the eARC opportunity. These are my honest thoughts that I have provided voluntarily.
From the very first page this book delivers punch that stays long after you close the book. Maree Rose has conjured a story that is equal parts raw emotion, scorching heat, and heart-wrenching tension — a romance that bends and breaks expectations just enough to leave you breathless, but never lost in the darkness.
Emotionally, Push My Buttons doesn’t shy away from the messy parts of being human fear, shame, desire, fragility all coexisting. The reclamation of voice (figuratively and literally) feels powerful.
The stakes are real not just for survival but finding wholeness. The question isn’t just who will she be with? but will she be able to be herself, fully free of fear and shame? Even though it’s part of the Behind the Lens shared world, it stands strong as a standalone. You don’t need to have read everything else to appreciate the depth, the twists, and the emotional core
The content is intense. Push My Buttons does not pull punches. If you are sensitive to dark romance tropes stalking, obsession, threats to safety this one asks you to lean in, but also warns you of its sharp edges.
If you want a romance that pulses with danger, desire, and the fierce beauty of someone finding her voice again, Push My Buttons is it. Maree Rose has crafted a story that’s bold, unforgettable, and emotionally rich and one that stays with you, lingering in the mind and the heart. Highly recommended for those who love romance with grit, stakes, and unapologetic intensity
Push My Buttons is the latest installment in the Behind the Lens shared world. It is a fast paced Why Choose Romance with a decent amount of Suspense, Mystery and Spice.
So much happens, very quickly, in this book and I absolutely loved it. The plot hits the ground running from the very first page, and the twists and turns continue all the way through to the last chapter. I loved all the details and layers the author skillfully packed into this story. Never once was I confused or overwhelmed with all the information. By the end of the book I was not left with a ton of unanswered questions, the one or two questions I did have, were obviously intentional. Though this book does take place in the Behind The Lens realm, the shared world was more a prop to the overall story, instead of a major focus. I found this approach to be different than the other books I have read in this collection, and very refreshing. I appreciated the smooth flow and integration of the different aspects of the characters lives. I adored Wren, Silence, and Vanta, all personas strong and empowering in their own way. I was amazed at how well Jace and Theo's personalities complimented each other. Never did I question how right these characters were for each other, and yet remained captivated by their journey.
Overall I loved this book. It was a fairly quick read with a fast paced storyline. This suspenseful, spicy, why choose romance was captivating and entertaining.
This was my very first book of @mareeroseauthor — and I’m obsessed. Obsessed with the plot, the characters, the twists, and Maree’s writing style — I loved it so, so much❤️
“...And in this world of wolves and predators, sometimes you need a monster on your side.”
Push My Buttons isn’t just another dark, spicy romance — it’s a story about trauma, identity, and finding your voice again.
Our FMC, Wren (also known as Vanta, Silence), is such a strong girl. She hides behind different identities — gamer, camgirl, barista. She wanted to burn her past. Her life was one of shadows and distance... until two very different men walked in and turned her world upside down.
And the chemistry between the three of them? Explosive, raw, and unforgettable. The two MMCs are the fiery combination: “Jace with his quiet intensity, his careful consideration, his protective instincts. Theo with his playful charm, his persistent warmth, his determination to break through my walls.”
With them, she finds herself again. And honestly, I think with Wren they finally found themselves too.
Oh, and let’s not forget Lucien — because yes, there is another man 🫣 If you want to know who he is… you’ll just have to dive into this incredible story. I’m still not over it...
👑 5/5 stars — without hesitation 🌶️ 4/5
A huge thank you to Maree and her amazing team for the opportunity to read this ARC 💜
From the very first page, I was pulled into the haunting life of a heroine trapped by silence—both literally and emotionally. The trauma she carries is palpable, yet her resilience shines through as she builds a hidden world for herself. The duality of her life—quiet barista by day, masked cam girl by night—was so compelling, and Maree Rose balanced vulnerability with strength in a way that made me ache for her.
And then there are the men. Intensely protective yet dangerously tempting, they peel back her layers piece by piece, forcing her to confront everything she’s been running from. The chemistry was electric, the emotional tension heart-wrenching, and I couldn’t stop turning the pages to see how far they would push her toward healing—and desire.
But what truly elevated this story was the suspense. The stalker element had me on edge, second-guessing every interaction, every shadow, every quiet moment. It was dark romance perfectly laced with thriller vibes, making it impossible to put down.
If you love broken heroines finding their voice, possessive men who refuse to let go, and a story that blends danger, passion, and hope, Push My Buttons is a must-read. Maree Rose has crafted a raw, emotional masterpiece that lingers long after the last page
Ah this was amazing! exactly what I’ve been craving and my god it it quench my thirst. I wish I had more but I can’t wait to see where this series goes.
Jace and Theo, I love them, I love them so much. Those two loveable nerds, I really enjoyed getting to know their characters. The only thing I wish is that I knew more about them, I understand that a lot of centred around Wren for obvious reasons, but I just want to know more about their past and what their lives are like.
Wren is beautiful, I love her dearly. Her healing journey is so admirable, it was so inspiring to see her confidence bloom in so many areas. I’m desperate to learn more about Lucien.
I loved the line that Wren said “I understand why you did it. but understanding isn’t the same as forgetting.” - I feel like that is something that isn’t talked about a lot. Especially in books I find it’s either one, they either forgive and forget or they argue because they don’t understand. Even in real life, I’ve never been able to articulate that feeling into words and I’m so glad I’ve finally found it.
This was a great read, I enjoyed the authors writing style and the way the book was written. I will definitely be putting more of her books on my TBR.
Plot: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶 🌶 🌶 🌶 Review: Once again, Maree Rose does not disappoint & had me in an absolute ch0khold with this novel! Push My Buttons hooked me from the very beginning and kept me until the very end. I went through every emotion with this one — happy, sad, angry, confused, shocked, you name it.
Our FMC, Wren, is a total BA of a woman with a traumatic past that has left her mute. Wren is both a shy pink-haired barista ☕️ by day and a skilled gamer/hot cam girl 🎮 by night. Wren will literally capture your heart with every chapter. From her sassy attitude with her men to her character growth and personality, she shines. Speaking of men, Jace & Theo are absolute perfection for Wren. Each is unique, yet both fit her so well, and their love for her is undeniable. They show it in every way possible — not to mention their intimate moments were 🔥 (I’ll never look at VR the same again! 🥵) But what really kept me flipping the pages was the suspense woven throughout the story. The mystery of Wren’s stalker had me constantly guessing — and second-guessing — every character. The tension builds chapter after chapter, keeping you on the edge of your seat until the truth is finally revealed. That mix of romance, spice, and thriller-level suspense is what makes this book so addictive.
Overall, this was such a wonderful read, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for an MFM/Why Choose Dark Romance with gamer life, secrets, mystery, st@lking, and strong character development.🖤
I mean, I already knew I would love this book bc I ate up The Darling Games series. But the extent that I adored every aspect of this book??? It ticked Every box for me: AuDHD rep; voyeurism/ exhibitionism; female reclamation of power; crawling; gaming; primal play; why-choose/RH; coffee.
The scene in the changing room?!? Excuse me Maree Rose- how Dare you make Wren & [redacted] that hot??
Oh, speaking of hot- 'blindfolded' VR?? I'm stealing that idea for, uh... yeah. Exactly 😂 The journey Wren went on from start to finish was like a phoenix rising and burning her own ghosts to ashes and I am so damn proud of her.
The strength that these men gave her while allowing her to maintain her sovereignty, never pushing her for more than she could give, but accepting her for every aspect of her life... *chef's kiss*
And absolute mad props that they Never contemplated that she would stop camming. This is perfection.
And chapter 44??? I spilled my chai bc I gasped the Gasp at that scene!
I cannot wait to get more of this story with the next characters bc this was just plain, naughty, sexy, sensual fun.
I am so appreciative for being given an opportunity to read and review this ARC.
Theo & Jace are just that delicious topping to this story of mystery & romance. Insta-everything for these two! They’re quite different from each other, which I think makes for the perfect man sandwich for Wren. Bonus: they share similar interests-gaming, coffee, and of course, their FMC! Wren is living with some severe drama that has caused her to become mute. By day, she works as a barista, while her alter ego is a cam girl. And wow, what a history this poor girl has. I just wanted to put her in a panic room and keep her safe. The pacing of this story kept me hooked until the very last page. Not a dull moment between trauma, spicy times, and all the twists and turns. This book had it all! DAMN, Chapter 31. That bomb drop came out of nowhere, and the way it was written? Chef’s kiss. These characters were flawed, entertaining, and so devoted to her. I ate that all up. Chapter 35’s living room scene was hot! I also loved seeing Wren’s growth throughout the story, watching her go from being a shell of a person to taking charge and no longer wanting to be a victim but something more.
Grab some snacks and get ready to get caught up with these three!
