A hilarious tale of a vampire and his castle. A story of moving house, having your own space, and a DUCK!
Colin is a vampire who is very excited to be moving into his own castle—great views, plenty of space, and lots of storage. Colin is very happy! But in all his dreams of his new home—there is NEVER EVER a duck involved! This castle comes complete with a duck. Colin is desperate to be left in peace and tries all sorts of tricks to evict the unwanted house guest, but to no avail! In the end, Colin must adjust to his new castle, his new life, and a DUCK!
This is a hilariously funny tale of resilience and is full of warmth and character.
Colin is a vampire who has just purchased a new castle. Every vampire dreams of having their own castle. But wait - what is that Duck doing? In Colin's castle? Well - it appears that Duck is pretty sure this is THEIR castle. So no matter how well Colin thinks he has gotten rid of Duck, Duck reappears! In the kitchen, when Colin is in the bathroom... Duck is everywhere. And soon, Duck isn't alone! What can Colin do?
Well, we don't really know what Colin does because this book is a bit open ended. I did a bit of digging and discovered that the author is British and this book definitely employs British humor. Also - it's a Colin and Duck book which means -- there is going to be another story about Colin and Duck! And in the second book, it looks like they've agreed to get along. But Colin's grandmother is coming for a visit?
Either way - this is a good reminder that ducks can be persistent! And that British humor is quite lovely. I think kids will "get it" and find it funny.
I think I thought this was going to be funnier than it really was, so it was a little bit disappointing. But there are some moments of humor as Colin moves into his castle, but a duck also decides that he lives at the castle.
A hilarious story about a vampire who buys a new castle and is ready to settle down to domestic life until he discovers he has a serious pest problem...
