My sister gave me this lovely little book as a present, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Hannah Dale's beautiful watercolour illustrations in The Country Set: A Celebration of Britain's Best-Loved Wildlife capture the personalities of beloved mammals, birds and amphibians which live in the UK. A short description, the common name and the scientific name accompany each drawing, so the information is very clear and concise. I read this book in one sitting, as it only contains 120 pages and half of the pages are illustrations, so it is a good introduction to many fascinating species in the UK.

A lovely little, brief, but delightfully illustrated guide, to the wild animals and birds of Britain. My favourite fact from the book was that common toads have been found crawling along the bottom of Loch Ness at a depth of 99m.

It really is a celebration of wildlife in Britain with the most wonderful illustrations to accompany the descriptions.
