If you're curious about biohacking or want a good overview of the latest studies and science behind metabolic health and wellness this is a really good book to start with. Drawing from some of the information already in Davinia's previous books, but also now updated with current studies and more of an overall look at global wellness and longevity whereas previous books focused more on Davinia's own experiences and at hormones specifically, this is a broader and more detailed look at certain hacks and topics such as strength training, movement, stress, etc that contribute to aging metabolically. I enjoy Davinia's honest and personable style of talking and this comes across on her writing and her audiobook. I find it's relatable and easy to follow without being judgemental or overbearing.
I like Davinia and was looking forward to this book, but unfortunately for me there was nothing original. There are lots of quotes to other books and doctors such as Mark Hyman, Dr Bickman and others, so if you have already read these or watched their podcasts there isn’t really anything new or different about this book. Would be good as an intro if you are really new on your wellness journey and would point you to some other good sources but there is better out there.
Having read Davinia's other books, I was looking forward to Futureproof and wasn't disappointed. Full of Davinia's no-nonsense style, there are lots of ideas of ways to live a healthier life. There are some overlaps with her other books, but it is useful to have it all in one book.
