The CIA want the portal for their own means....

On returning from Xibalba, Tyler, Adrianna, Diego are captured and the CIA plan to use the portal themselves if they can only persuade one of them to tell them how to use it. Shaw gets his minion Montgomery to do whatever it takes to get the portal opened. One of the moth-like beings also came through and is hiding out. Their paths all intersect as the CIA attempt to control things and get to Xibalba.
There is the usual mix of scifi, alien life forms, "evil" agencies, friendships, betrayals, death and adventure in this tale. A satisfying finale to the series.

Portal 3

This was the best book yet of the series. I love hard Science Fiction. This is something new. I didn’t know there was such a thing as hard Science Fiction, but I’m hooked. Please continue to write more books like this.

It's been a mental health break for social media and cable news . Very refreshing.
