⭐️ 5.0 ⭐️

Thank you so much to Author K. L. Blake for sending me the ARC of this amazing, wonderful new obsession of a book!

Alrighty—first things first: I’m a huge fan of romantasy books! Some of the things I love more than anything in the genre are short chapters, character and worldbuilding over action, and multiple POVs—and this book has all of them!

“Who are you? I am Princess Arysalia Beck Creighton! You will obey!”

Arysalia gives off the best vibes ever! She’s our main character and the perspective we follow in this book. Not only is she the princess of a locked kingdom, but she also has the coolest powers ever! I won’t spoil what they are, but they’re explained so well and have such a great backstory. She’s also the kind of girl you’d want backing you up in a fight—loyal to almost a fault.

“We can speak without words and understand without sound; she is my twin flame, and I hers.”

Arysalia and Samarra have such an amazing relationship. They’re best friends and “twin flames,” and I love them! Their bond grows so much in this book, and I was here for every moment.

“Care to join me, Princess?” he asks, now that he has settled into the tub, facing me, seeing me staring. I have been caught.

—Finox

Silly princess, she has been staring at me unabashedly.

Finox is our main male character—and he’s perfect. He’s strong, has cool powers, and is also caring and funny. I loved his banter with everyone, especially Arysalia!

There were so many fun perspectives in this book—it felt like being in a movie or TV show! You don’t just get our main characters’ POVs, but also get a glimpse into the villain’s mind too!!!

And finally, the spice? Perfection. It fit the plot so well and never felt forced.

One final thing I want to mention is the world and character development. The pacing was perfect for me, and I really enjoyed it! I loved not only getting our main characters’ perspectives but also those of side characters, villains, and more. I loved the ending and cannot wait to read the next one in the series!

The fantasy within the story was unbelievably amazing! I enjoyed having the physical copy of the book to follow along as I listened to the audiobook (recommended). I can't express enough, how this story transported me to a different time and place. I couldn't stop reading and I became so invested in all of the characters as they were all so close and connected. The book was well written (there is a noticeable improvement in the author's writing) and it made you care for the 4 main characters deeply, what I enjoyed the most was Arysalia's sassiness and confidence, and how her character and relationship with Finox developed. I am so invested in seeing how their relationship will develop but also what adventure awaits them in the next book...

Amazing from start to finish!!!

I absolutely loved The Kingdom Rescue. The story pulled me in right away and kept me hooked the whole time. The world building was rich and the characters felt alive.

The narration of the audiobook was fantastic. Every character had personality, and the performance really brought the story to life. It felt like I was right there in the middle of the action.

My favorite character is Umbra but I loved the banter between all of them.

Kingdom Rescue is a fast paced romantacy told from multiple POVs which follows Arysa on her epic quest across the continent to free her Kingdom and save her people with the help of her best friend and two very unlikely companions.

Yet again Kate managed to knock it out of the park with her debut Romantasy. It has a little bit of everything you could wish for. From Animal companions, a grumpy Princess, a cheeky King, unwavering friendships, banter that will have you squealing, back stories to break your heart and a slow burn that will have you screaming into your pillow... literally!!

This is a reverse grumpy sunshine and my first, so it took a little longer than usual for me to warm to the FMC Arysa, that being said, she's fierce, takes no sh*t and isn't afraid to stand her ground and knows her own moral compass and I'm glad that I was able to warm to her as the story developed. The MMC Finox was a breath of fresh air and had me melting at first wink 😉 IYKYK. I loved his cheekiness and his ability to rile Arsya up the wrong way... I LIVED FOR IT, but in a good slow burn tension sort of way.

Part of the world building involves a back story which was so well written to the point that my heart was breaking, it's the back story that sets up the main plot for this book and rest assured if there is ever a prequel for Kingdom Rescue I will be knocking down the door to read it. Kate has an ability to make you care for characters that most would cast aside and I can't wait to read more.

💬 ARC Review | The Kingdom Rescue by K.L. Blake

If you’re looking for a book that will have you cackling, kicking your feet, and whispering “what the hell did I just read—in the BEST way,” look no further.

This book has it all:
✨ Magic.
🐆 A faithful companion
🦄 Was that a Harry Potter reference?? 😍
🩸 Blood oaths. *queue spooky music*
👑 A princess locked away for all the wrong reasons. (Freaking Rude)
💔 A young King who wants to protect her and free her kingdom… but has no clue how to show it without accidentally triggering the FMC or making it a very confusing love confession.

Beyond the chaos and laugh-out-loud moments, this story delivers an unexpected emotional gut-punch. You go on a deeply personal ride with the princess as she navigates the unknowns of freedom, her sense of loss, and the emotional whiplash of trusting someone again—especially someone as chaotic and sincere as the king.

Some gems from this feral masterpiece:

🗣️ “The Valadorian King is growing on me—like a stray cat or a fungus.”

💀 “Yes, Finox, I want you to drug me and tie me down… While we are near any large waterway, sea, river, etc.”
💅 (Said with a look that SCREAMS “I live for your discomfort.”) - Me too girl, me too!

😂 “Well, you smell too,” I release once I finish laughing; this seems to get her attention more than the laughter. She sits up straight, “Excuse me. I smell?” She has both eyes open, filled with fury—and fuck me I could kiss her right now.” - Bruh I just can’t with you here!

This book is unhinged, addictive, absolutely hilarious—and romantic in a way that works way too well. I adored every wild, chaotic second and would read 50 more books with this kind of energy.

No thoughts, just obsession.

Thank you again to K.L. Blake for allowing me to have this wonderful experience to ARC read for you!

Now if you’ll excuse me I’m gonna go read it again!!!

*I was given this book as an eArc but my review is based solely on my own thoughts and opinions*

It’s a back and forth story. So like one chapter is present time and another is from back in the day, where it all started. That was interesting. I don’t typically read books like that. And then some chapters, each one is from a different perspective/character, so multiple point of views. I’m not quite sure if I like it or not. Because of it, it felt very rushed and all over the place.

I think it’s an interesting and fun story. I’m not use to side characters having such a main role in the story. This book had a lot of things I’m not used to but is interesting and has me looking for more. I wish there was more time in the beginning to get a feel for each character, background of some sort, you’re kind of thrusted into a story. It feels as if the beginning of the book was the middle of it. It’s hard to get invested in characters when you’re slowly learning about them throughout the story.

Everything is cute, feels very Young Adult. I love a good animal companion. The author shows a lot of promise, I think flow and background could improve a bit but it was still a fun read and am happy to see so many people loving it!!!

Would you dare to say Powerless with elemental powers meets The Shepherd King? This powerful story of a fearless Princess who's been locked away and a lonesome, sneaky Kingling set out to break a curse before it can wreak havoc on their entire world. But can she keep her life from crumbling from beneath her while navigating a whole new world she knows nothing about? An enchanted story of love, bonds, oaths, magic, and love found.
This book was everything you could seek out in a fantasy world. Facing loss in many forms, hidden away from the world to be protected, Arysalia must brave a new world to save those she loves and trust blindly. Within these pages you will find unbreakable bonds, magic, power, terror among kingdoms, and creatures that you'd never want to face alone but more importantly you will find fear, loss, forced proximity, a grumpy Princess and a King that's only goal is to help her heal on her own time - but most importantly give her time to face the truth of what it means to let go and face a new fear, one she wasn't prepared for - LOVE.

Thank you for the opportunity to ARC read for you - fan for life! ❤️

Thank you so much K. Blake for this Arc!!

This is a fun action pact fantasy adventure! If you love epic quest, mythical creatures, and a seriously slow burn add this to your tbr!!
Premise:
A kingdom is under a dreadful curse where no one can ever escape, until a very mischievous king and his friend sneak inside this locked down kingdom and spot their futures, Arysaila the princess and her best friend Samarra.

Together they go on a dangerous quest to break the curse upon the kingdom. Along the way they come across many dangerous creatures, and trials.

This story is told in multiple POVs. They characters are endearing and will have you rooting for them the entire time! (Especially King Finox and his swoon worth winks 😉)

This was so good and had such a great time reading this!

The characters we A+

If you like fast paced action, adventure, a slow burn romance, and the best representation of true friendship, this is for you!

Not to mention all of the unique creatures and magical elements.

I loved Arysa and Sammara’s friendship soo much.

And the romance was just chef’s kiss!

Highly recommend!

Thank you so much K.L. Blake for the opportunity to read this!
