It was really great to see the guys and Lav again🙂 A perfect mix of spicy and sweet. I'd be lying if I said that seeing Lav *finally* say ily back to Sy, their sweet moments tg and a possibility of them becoming parents in the future didn't make me incredibly happy (it's no secret that Sy's my fave out of all the guys haha) Also, I fell in love with Nick all over again too in this one🫠

Seriously epic, amazing, wonderful, hilarious, hot, masterpiece. Too many amazing moments/snippets to pick a favorite, but one of my favorite quotes:

This is a fun little collection of like 5 very short Dukes novellas. It should be read after the last book in the Dukes trilogy, Dukes of Peril. There's also a few of these little stories that take place during the Princes trilogy, so unfortunately it would also make more sense to read it after Princes of Legacy (but fuck the Princes. So, if you skip Princes, it's fine, you'll just be a tad confused about the context for why Nick was injured, and context for some other stuff).
Anyone who liked the Dukes trilogy would like it. Sy, Remy, Nick, and Lavinia all get good moments, and yes, we get some stuff with the Archduke cat. It's basically just some good epilogue type content.
It's great to see Lavinia and the guys again, and get a taste of what their life is like, after the events of their trilogy. I'm of two minds about one part of it, though. . That always annoys me when authors of WhyChoose books play favorites among their own characters. Especially when they chose wrong, sine the Dukes are their best characters by miles.
We got some great Lavinia moments and Nick moments. We got this line from him: "I was born for a lot of things, but fucking this girl has been the only one on my mind since the first day I saw her." THIS was the energy that was missing from the flop Princes trilogy.
We also meet one of the upcoming heroes of Barons. I'll jot it down here in case I don't have time to re-read before Barons comes out: . At least his vibe is very different from the Princes. The Princes weren't "unhinged," they were just weird losers. Following their very bad trilogy, to get its mojo back, this series needs to bring back unhinged heroes. So, hopefully this is all a positive sign for the Barons trilogy.

It was sooo good to be back with our Dukes and their Queen. We got some sweet and spicy moments and it left me swooning.
ALSO, we learned more about one of our Barons. Some of my hopes and dreams for The Barons are panning out and I’m SO STOKED.
Also the Archduke is a precious little scoundrel. lol.

Yes, my rating is probably entirely based on how much I adore this universe, the Dukes and their Queen, and getting caught up in all the nostalgia of being back in their bubble and getting new content from them, but it's my rating, sooooo... *shrugs.*
All the little shorts that we were given before are always epically hilarious and delicious in their own right. If you can tell me that you read the scene with Mrs. Crane and the guys or Remy birdsitting Effie alongside Archie without at least laughing out loud a little or didn't get a little wiggly with all that BIG NICK ENERGY in Saint Nick, then... I'd give you, like, a dollar or something because I'm pretty broke these days. But that new bonus content is where it's at! I loved seeing some of these pivotal scenes from the Princes timeline through the Dukes POV and then watching our Queen Lavinia really own her title in all the ways she could. It was fucking epic! And then all the Baron-y teases we were fed along the way... I have a mighty mighty mighty need. Seriously, I'm pretty feral for it.
I'll always want more Samgel words.

I’ve missed this group so much!! The added bonus chapters were a great way to catch up with our favorite fighters. I loved seeing more into their life after their series. I also really enjoyed seeing some glimpses into the Barons, I’m so excited for their series!!

Suffice to say I was feral for this material. Things didn’t necessarily go the way I was thinking, but I really like the way we set this house and our Barons up for the future.

Duchess of Forsyth – Quick Thoughts
The Madame of Mayhem chapter had me cackling. Dolores never fails to crack me the hell up. Absolutely top tier content
Wings of Mayhem was another standout. Reading about Remi babysitting Effie was both hilarious and surprisingly heartwarming. The writing in that one was so sharp.
And that final chapter? Loved the image the female royals are setting for the new baroness. Strong, united, and a little bit wicked. Perfect way to close out the bonus book.

THE DUKES ARE MY FAVORITES, I've developed an attachment to them and I can say that I've read the three books (of their story) more than ten times in the last year, I like their relationship being extremely complicated and raw, but also energetic and real, I love how they grew throughout the books and the family they became.
This book with bonus, was a warm hug on a rainy day, it made me fall even more in love with the dukes and their queen, there's really no denying they are my favorites!!!!!
And Sy always manages to make me feel excited, and perhaps of all the ones I love in this universe (Sorry Lex) he is the ultimate winner and has a unique place in my heart.

Remy finds himself roped into bird sitting Pace's bird, Effie. It's an interesting day, especially when he lets Effie have free rein of the loft with the Archduke in toe.
This was so cute and hilarious. I love Effie, and seeing the dynamic between her and Remy is something I didn't know I needed in my life. lol So cute and fun.

After Remy loses his fight to Pace because Pace stabbed him, he is exiled from the tower for three days (per the rules if a Duke loses a fight). Thankfully Vinny comes along with him to keep him company. And they find a cozy place to stay at the abandoned Royal Gazette building, which they later decide to renovate as their new home.
This was okay. I love seeing Remy and Lavinia, of course. But they are pretty much just chilling and not much happens (not even smut). So it was a little boring and I definitely wouldn't have minded some Nicky in this one. Still, it was alright and good to see how they end up at their new place. I don't get why this one wasn't placed before Wings of Mayhem in the anthology though, since it takes place before it.

This one takes place after Nick was shot in the Prince books. We see a little bit of his recovery and Lavinia's emotions during this scary time.
I liked this mainly because it was Nick and he's my favorite. I hated when he was shot in the Prince books and was so worried for him. This was nice to see how he pulled through. And the bit of steam was nice too. ;)

Lavinia discovers an old tradition that says she can't technically be the DKS Queen unless she beats the DKS King in the ring of a special fight called the Queenmaker Fight. It hasn't been even done since the 1940's but she insists on gaining the respect of the frat by doing it. In the meantime Archie has knocked up a feral cat and they're all taking care of his new kittens.
Loved this one. I loved seeing them all together and seeing Lavinia be the badass she is. Archie's part of things was so cute too. And meeting one of the Barons was nice as well. Loved it all and looking forward to the Barons' books.

This was a perfect little Christmas gift, I wont lie I've never been the HUGEST dukes fan. But seeing them interact and that Effie and Archie scene with Remy had me bursting out laughing. There were also some sweet moments with Lav and her guys.
We also got a little more info about DK (Damon) Bro Damon's are always hot. The fact that DK is my actual type manifested is crazyy. We also know that he likes cats, which is cute although I will say I've been hoping in this trilogy we get to see a puppy. (Maybe a Rottweiler?) Okay at this point I'm projecting. But I honestly can't stop thinking about Barons like DK?? ARMAND?? HUNTER?? DADDY MADDY????!!!
They are all so fine like I cant-
Aria is so gorgeous and just has that aura about her.
I'm pretty sure she comes from a (Rich/Powerful family) I think she is our only FMC to really come from one. Not like Lav but Old Money wise. Plus she is the dean's Niece so that makes me even more curious.

I can say with absolute certainty that like the Lady of Forsyth book, I can not remember when any of these stories take place during any of the main books.

OMG getting to see Mrs. Crane was a HOOT! I loved her in the Lords series.
Wings of Mayhem
BWAHAHAHAH Remy with Effie was perfect. Remy was/is my favorite Duke. I also loved his interactions with anyone or any living thing.
Exile
This was a cute interaction between Vinny and Remy. I liked it enough.
Unstoppable
I think if they would have stopped at the ending of the sex scene it would have been a good short chapter. I didn’t understand why they continued it.

This was such a great after-read. It makes me hungry for the Barons that much more! I need more of the snippets of the Lords, Dukes & Princes.
I had not read The Archduke nor the Madam of Mayhem before, so to also be able to have them there was amazing! My only complaint is that I needed it to be longer! 🤣 I'm just kidding SamGel, bring on the Barons!!

The fight scene was EVERYTHING! I had tears in my eyes when Lav was noticing all the women in attendance. To those of us who may not have picked up on it, this series is all about women finding their power and the reality of some of the struggles we face (even if a bit far-fetched 😉). Of course, also all the delicious men 😘
I'm a little concerned for Lav's back side, but to the victor and all that 🫣😅

Forsyth University: My Obsession!
I've fallen head over heels for the world of Forsyth University! Lords, Dukes, Princes, and soon-to-be Barons—I can't get enough of these books and characters. It's not just the exciting plots, but also the writing itself. These stories draw you in and make you genuinely care about the characters and their lives. I'm completely hooked! I swear, the authors could write about these characters going to the grocery store, and I'd still devour every word. If you're looking to dive into a fictional world and become utterly obsessed, start reading these books. You won't regret it!

Such a delight!
I’ve put off reading this until the first release of the “Barons” drew closer, and after reading it, I must say that it reminded me of everything I love about the Dukes and their Duchess. It was such a treat to immerse myself in this world again.
As a massive Remy fan, I didn’t think anything could top “Wings of Mayhem” (which was extremely entertaining, btw), but “Queenmaker” was amazing. It reminded me of all the things I love about Lavinia and the Monarchs’ mission to BE the change. :’)
This is such an incredible series, and I look forward to seeing where it goes!

My Duchess and Dukes
This was an enjoyable short read that’s story fit right in between all of the other stories once the Dukes began their storyline.
I honestly loved Lavinia, Sy, Nick, (and especially) Remi out of everyone so far!
(At the time of writing I haven’t read the Baron’s yet) Of all three Dukes, I will be honest and say that Remi is my favorite…he is a character!
Great read but you do have to read through all series including the Prince trilogy otherwise there are spoilers in the book or you may just be lost wondering what is going on.
Love this series and am getting ready to dive into the Baron’s first book!!

If your a fan of Forsyth you will love this new bonus! I was happy it included the other bonus scenes and gave us three new ones.
Lav and her Dukes are just perfect together. The love they share and desire to make Forsyth better along with the added humor of their personalities.

Queenmaker was especially good, and Wings of Mayhem is hilarious.
Also I KNEW the BRN with the face metal and throat slit was too inconspicuous to not be one of our future Barons! Helll yesss DK is so fine... given his scar I was really hoping he’d be a mute MMC but alas, no visit from Saint Nick for me.
