With the Hillfolk roleplaying game, you and your group weave an epic, ongoing saga of high-stakes interpersonal conflict that grows richer with every session. Its DramaSystem rules engine, from acclaimed designer Robin D. Laws, takes the basic structure of interpersonal conflict underlying fiction, movies and television and brings it to the world of roleplaying.
IMHO, there's no such thing as a bad Robin Laws roleplaying book, and this is no exception. The Dramasystem dramitic roleplaying rules are a beautiful thing, and I'm looking forward to using them more in the future. The procedural system, on the other hand, I found to be nearly unusable, at least until I read the advanced procedural rules in Blood on the Snow. That said, once a group gets used to the dramatic rules, the procedural rules should hardly ever be necessary.
This is really good, and I want to play it some day soon. That said, the layout is not great; I found it distracting on several occasions, which it should not be. Also, some of the weird little interjected quotes repeat within a few pages, which is fairly strange.
