I’m still hungover from the bachelor party when I arrive in Oahu and ruin Ashley’s life. She was expecting to marry my best mate, but on the way to the airport, he confessed he didn’t want to marry her. They only knew each other three months, but Ashley is devastated.
Now we’re stuck with her family and the groom’s parents—who’ve always treated me like a son. I’d love to abandon ship, but Ashley needs a friend and that’s what I am. It’s the only thing I can be.
But as we spend the week together, and she realizes she was more in love with a wedding and moving to Sydney than she was with her groom, things change between us. Falling for my best friend’s bride will sink more than a friendship. We’re partners in a surf shop on the brink of expansion. Am I headed for a wipeout? Or the longest, most perfect ride of my life?
Beached Wedding is a slow burn, off-limits, friends-to-lovers romance with a solid HEA. It’s not a love triangle. You’ll ship Ashley and Fox all the way.

This is a fun, witty, sensual and slow burn romance when Ashley Barnes finds herself eagerly awaiting her soon to be husband, Shane at the airport in Hawaii but instead of Shane, his best friend and best man Fox arrives with a message that Shane no longer wants to get married, Ashley is devastated and so is Fox, how on earth is this all going to work out with both families here for the wedding Shane’s from Australia and Ashley’s from Canada, let the drama begin.
Fox feels very responsible for this disaster but he is a true friend to both Shane and Ashley and truly thought he was doing what was right and Ashley is so very mad at him, but he is determined to support Ashley because she truly is his friend but the more time they spend together doing the things that Shane and her would have been doing, sunset cruising, partner massages the more both are realising that maybe there is something between them and maybe Shane not coming was for the best, but is it, can they go there, off-limits relationship this will be if it goes anywhere?
I did thoroughly enjoy this one, so many smiles and dramas with Ashley’s family but the sensual romance that builds between Ashley and Felix is beautiful, steamy and wonderful this is one that I would highly recommend to any lover of a good romance and I loved my trip to Hawaii, MS Collins made me feel like I was there.
My thanks to the author for my digital copy to read and review.
The things I loved about this book, I loved so much that it made me super mad at the things I DIDN’T love because I feel like it had such potential!
What I love: Fox and Ashley. The way Fox loves Ashley even before he realizes it’s romantic is so beautiful. Their friendship feels very grounded and so the move to romance feels very earned. I loved their chemistry and their story. They were funny, sweet, and also really sad in ways that they only share with each other. Their relationship was a pleasure to watch build over the course of the book.
What I don’t love: a lot of the other characters. Shane is supposed to be the lovable loser, of course, but in kind of an unrepentant way that makes him the opposite of lovable to me. And Ashley’s sister and mom I HATED. They use Ashley, treat her like shit when her fiance pulls out of their wedding because they “told her so” and because it’s ruining their grand Hawaiian vacation, and they get mad at her for wanting to go have a life of her own instead of staying home tending to them and raising her sister‘s kid. The shit Whitney says at the end about Ashley ruining their family “again” is just absolutely cruel and unforgivable based on what we know about Ashley’s childhood, and she never apologizes, and neither she nor the mom ever really own up to being selfish wanks. So that made it a tough read at times.
And finally, THE TYPOS! Oh they made me so mad!! And not because I can’t handle typos. I read a lot of self-published fiction by fairly new writers, and I can hang with typos. But those books are usually hot messes all around. This book was SO well done that it made me mad to see those kinds of careless mistakes. Stupid stuff like consistently getting pronouns wrong because clearly this book was originally written in third person and then changed to first. So we get sentences where Ashley is saying “I” and “me” as the narrator but then is referred to as “she” in the same sentence. And like I said, I’m usually more forgiving, but it made it worse that this book was so strong in other ways. I really really enjoyed this, and I will read more books from this author, but I hope she gets a better editing team so her books can be as awesome as it feels like they can be!
Ashley was in Hawaii with her family for her wedding. When she went to pick him up at the airport, the only one who showed up was her fiance's best friend and business partner, Fox. Fox had to break the news to her that her fiance has called off the wedding. How will she handle it? Does she blame Fox for being the bearer of bad news? As time goes on, she realizes everything she thought she believed in wasn't true. Can she accept it? Will her fiance have a change of heart? Does her heart belong to someone else? Fox and Ashley have been friends forever. Can her heart heal? Sometimes you have to look what's right in front of you to see your soulmate. This is a great story of loving the thought of marriage and family, while choosing the wrong person. Worth the read. I received this book for my honest review. I give it voluntarily
I enjoyed this friends to lovers novel. Ashley appeared to want to marry for the sake of marrying. Her fiance was not clean to get married at all. So Fox was dispatched to inform Ashley that there was not going to be a wedding. After getting over the shock, Fox and Ashley spent time together and realised that their chemistry was the real thing and they wanted to build a good and lasting relationship moving forward.
I recently read Beached Wedding by Dani Collins, and it was such a delightful read! The storyline is charming and full of heart, with great chemistry between the characters.
The setting adds a perfect backdrop for the romance, making it a relaxing yet engaging book.
Dani Collins has a way of creating relatable characters and emotions, making it easy to get lost in the story. Overall, a fun and enjoyable romance that I highly recommend.
I enjoyed reading "Beached Wedding: A Friends to Lovers Slow Burn Romance" by Dani Collins. Ashley came to Hawaii to wed her fiance, but he decided he didn't want to marry. He told his friend Fox to go on and explain to her that there wouldn't be a wedding. Fox and Ashley were already friends, but they became closer as they muddled through the non-wedding.
3.5 Stars This was a decent book. I enjoyed the story but the pace was quite slow. So slow at times that it was hard to remain focused and stay involved.
The plot was such a rollercoaster of emotions to get through, and I was all for it. This was also very slow-burn and tension-filled, and it was all worth it in the end.
I loved the romance in this - very organic and cute, and obviously Fox and Ash fit so well together. I thought the development of their relationship was inevitable - with the way they interacted, you could tell they complemented each other’s personalities very well, and they would work out much better than Ash and Shane. Speaking of, those two were probably the only characters I really liked, and I didn’t really care for the found family in this - if there even was one.
I promised I would read this as soon as I finished my ARC for Dani’s new release, Afternoon Delight, and I’m so glad I had the extra time to get to it right away. I really did enjoy reading Fox and Ash’s story, and I hope to find more treasures in Dani’s works ❤️
