I found this through a group on Facebook and I am so glad I did! The writing was great and I loved that the character was named Katherine Pierce, as she was my favorite character from Vampire Diaries. I loved that the book was super short (only 11 pages on Kindle). Recommend to anyone and everyone who wants a bit of a horror-Christmas themed read!
Short, dark, and fiercely polemic, all wrapped up in a neat Christmas bow. This is an excellent story with commentary about CEOs and wealth inequality, tapping into the frustrated discourse currently happening in the West. Jenn Osborn DELIVERED with this tiny slice of holiday horror.
As a writer i not only notice it but also really respect, love and admire damn good writing ! This short super fast read has let me know to bump Jennifers other book in my tbr up on my list because it was small but enough to show shes a great writer!
I’m going to have to think about the rating on this one but here’s my honest review…
The writing was exceptional. I think Jennifer is a fantastic author and does an excellent job with ensuring her writing isn’t fluffy or messy.
I enjoyed this story until the end. The ending killed me.
I don’t like abrupt endings; high build up and then a fade-to-black ending really grinds my gears. Give me the violence. Give me the ENDING.
So while I loved her writing, the ending really wasn’t what I was hoping for or wanted. I have questions, which I don’t think I should have at the end of ANY story.
