I have got to say I enjoyed this a little more than i thought i would. The book is 19 chapters/short stories of Harley, and they are all fun and entertaining. Yes, I enjoyed a couple more than others, but I can't think of one I did not enjoy on some level.

I love the Black White and Red concept of the art. The stories range from Harley's origin, villain, henchwoman, break up, and even anti-hero days. They are not in chronology order, to be they were just fun as ot was a surprise of which Harley the story would be about. I especially liked that they included a story from the White Knight universe.

Usually, when I read a book of short stories (each be a different writer, artist, or creative team), I find usually prefer the teams closest to the way I see the character. With Harley's psychosis/multiple personalities, I can see every version being true to character.

This is a great fun book of Harley stories. Different visions, concepts, and even artwork, but everything in this book worked for me.

Some solid short tales featuring Harley Quinn in all her incarnations from some excellent creative teams. In addition to stories set in the DCU, there's stories from Batman: The Animated Series, Batman: The White Knight and Harleen which was my favorite of all of them.

It's a joy to look at the diverse styles of art presented in this volume. Each story has a different creative team, so even if you run across one you don't like, you'll be reading a different team in just a few pages. The stories that focus on Harley's relationships are quite strong, while the stories that focus on gags are not. There are just a few stories at the end of the collection that focus on the winter holidays that were really bad because they focus on gags that aren't that funny. Other than that, it's a great read.

So the goons/henchmen in the DC fictional work actually have a workers' union!!!!!

Rating: 3.5 stars.

The artwork is in fact very lovely for most part, especially this Dani person's artwork in Sunshine Getaway, it's very creative, as to the stories, the latter part isn't as great as the beginning part, I supposed.

As to the stories themselves, I enjoy the ones that I actually read with care, these stories are humorous with a few fresh ideas here and there e.g. Harley Quinn and Catwoman all dressed up pretty and become fashion icons (or do they really?), Harley as a working girl, having business meetings with the Legion of Doom and the henchmen actually has an workers' union? Great! I like the story with Harley battling her way through the Hip Hop street battle version of the Riddler, Huntress, Bane, Two Face and last but not least, Scarface and Joker! You know how much I love when Scarface shows up! Plus the Goth.I.Am... or should I say, the Hip Hop version of Bruce Wayne/Batman is great too. LOL

But by the end of this volume, I started skimming partly because too many words and my eye sight really isn't what it once used to be.

I'm not a huge Harley fan, but this was actually a fairly entertaining anthology of short stories until it got bogged down in several holiday-themed tales in the closing stretch. Christmas in June just wasn't working for me. It didn't help that some creators tossed in a lot of unnamed and unexplained supporting characters who will be unfamiliar to anyone who isn't reading Harley's ongoing comic series. The best tales focused on Harley or Harley and Poison Ivy.

Also, DC might as well have called this book Harley Quinn Black + White + Red + Gray Wash because they went way overboard on that effect.

"Real life is nothing compared to online validation"

A collection of short, mostly standalone Harley Quinn stories, some of which tie into specific runs such as White Knight and The Animated Universe

Most of the stories are pretty good, with only a few being slight let-downs. Purely by co-incidence, I would say that I enjoyed the stories from the first half more. The colour scheme is really nice throughout (I've always thought that red, black and white blend well together), but the art has a tendency to go from something I really enjoy looking at to something which I don't from story to story. If you're a fan of Harley Quinn, there's definitely going to be a story in here that you'll enjoy.

Harley Quinn Black + White + Red is a seventeen-issue digital-first issue limited series that centers on Harley Quinn in her many interpretations. Every issue is a standalone title in relation to each other penned and penciled by different artistic teams. Harley Quinn Black + White + RedL collects all seventeen issues of the 2020 limited series with two additional stories made specifically for the trade paperback.

For the most part, this collection of vignettes was written and constructed rather well. Each nineteen vignettes are a quarter the size of the typical comic book (about ten pages) and were created by different creative teams with a varied of stories to tell from serious, heartbreaking stories to more fun and silly stories. The art is done in black and white with splashes of shades of red for emphasis.

This limited series has something to offer for every Harley Quinn aficionado as it shows the many and varied aspects of the character and from many continuities. There are stories of the silly and kooky Harley Quinn from the core series and the psychotic madwoman found in Suicide Squad. It also goes beyond the core of the DC Universe and has stories from Batman: The Animated Series, Batman: The White Knight, Harleen, and Harley Quinn the animated series.

Like most anthologies there are weaker contributions and Harley Quinn Black + White + Red is not an exception. There were a rare few stories that didn't resonate well with me, but those seem like outliers and didn't really dilute my reading experiences. However, there is a wildly wide range of talent in the penciling area as there were pencilers that were superb and other not worth the paper it was scratched onto.

All in all, Harley Quinn Black + White + Red is a wonderful tribute and celebrations that is Harley Quinn.

Harley Quinn: Black + White + Red collects chapters 1-17 of the online DC Comics series written by various authors such as Stjepan Šejić, Tim Seely,, Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti, Sean Murphy, and Paul Dino and various artists including Stjepan Šejić, Adam Hughes, Chad Hardin, Otto Schmidt, and Matteo Collins.

A collection of Harley Quinn short stories where the only colors of the book are shades of Black, white, and red.

Most of the stories contained are forgettable or pretty bad. There are a handful of good stories including shorts set in Šejič’s Harleen series and Murphy’s White Knight series (which was my personal favorite in the collection). Since each story is by a different creative team, each story has its own unique look and feel. Unfortunate, I felt most artists were not very creative with the color palette. I would only recommend this to big time Harley fans - casual fans can easily skip.

Harley Quinn is a character that I learned about in recent years, always full of surprises and with an unpredictable character.

The book is made up of 19 chapters, each one a story created by a different team, all with Harley as the main protagonist. The stories are fun and enjoyable, often focusing on Harley's relationships with Joker or Ivy, with plots characterized by strong tones. In other cases, Harley is in the company of her own gang of wacky characters and they are generally sillier. I must admit that I wasn't able to follow all the gags, the slang is quite strong, but all the stories are fun to read.

The underlying theme in the artwork of the volume is black and white, the only color used is red, with a strong visual impact. In addition to the stories, some better, others a little less (this depends on taste), it is nice to observe the various graphic styles presented in this volume, each with different characteristic traits, some more sketchy, others much more fluid. For example, I really like the style of Stjepan Šejić, whose other comics I have read, including something about Harley.

Definitively, it is a great reading and it allows you to learn about the different aspects of this character.

Collection of Harley-centric short stories. Like any short story collection, some are hits and some are misses. Unsurprisingly, god-king Stjepan Šejić's story is one of the best. I'm still upset he isn't doing more Harley and didn't get to do his planned Harlivy series.

*3 and a half stars* Some good stories mixed in. Honestly, a lot of good artwork as well. Just no "great" stories to me. I would definitely read more this. The black and white +Red art was interesting.

First off, great artwork, but art alone does not make a great comic. There were a few really good stories but most were cheesy comedic...or should I say trying to be funny Harley Quinn.

Overall it was... okay.

My favorite story was without a doubt the one from Stjepan. Harley and Ivy have so much potencial so I really hope he will make a Ivy's book with more of these two.

This collection was a TON of fun, and I'm sad to see it come to a close. There were highs and lows for the stories, but it was consistently good. I reviewed each of the chapters at letsgopodcast.com, so check them out if you're interested!

agh this was amazinggg. I think all the antics, different art styles, different paces and tones, how experimental it was, is so quintessentially Harley Quinn. It opened beautifully with HARLEYIVY content that tied into Harleen which is one of my faves, with such a beautiful monologue from harls on the colour red and how much she loves ivy. then it went on to be silly, sweet, hilarious and meaningful, with heists with catwoman, dates with ivy, recovering from the joker and plenty of Christmas and Chanukah content :) I think, if one was to read Harleen as an origin story and then this one, that would be a perfect introduction into the bubbly, smart but nonsensical, kind but prone to violence, morally grey character that is Harley Quinn. just such a fun collection, with so much harleyivy content (means a lot to me lol), and a hilarious Taylor Swift reference in the comic that was in the universe of the Harley Quinn TV show!

Eine Charakterstudie über die Clown-Queen

Inhalt: Im vorliegenden Sammelband "Harley Quinn.

Gesamt: 5/5

There are some bangers in here. Stjepan Sejic, Amanda/Jimmy, and Pat Schumacker put out three of the best issues. This collection is a fun time, so here are my personal highlights (by issue #):

#1 - Stjepan is my favorite artist in comics right now. We get to go back inside his brilliant, cerebral Harleen universe. I know he’s a busy man, but I hope to god maybe one day, we’ll get to see his Isley project completed. Harleen is probably the best Harley story ever, and I would die if he even came close to that level of quality in interpreting my other favorite character, who also happens to be severely underdeveloped by DC at large. Until then, at least we’re blessed with his fan art and other books.

#2 - Catwoman/Harley fashion show!

#4 - Gotham’s underground rap scene. I like the urban, tatted Ivy look.

#8 - Holy 80s shoulder pads, Batman. Harley is out here breaking pirates’ faces while springing around in high heels and what looks like very heavy hair. Fantastic. Best quote: “You seem like the types to listen to logic and reason.” *Proceeds to knock the shit out of two guys using her fists, named Logic and Reason.*

#9 - Throwback to Batman the animated series. A fresh, but vintage look. Old-school villain Ivy is MEAN but hot as hell. This is the issue she looks her absolute best.

#11 - Harley schools basic thugs on how she would kill the Justice League, then outsmarts Batwoman in a foiled arrest. People can’t seem to help themselves when constantly undermining her intelligence, reducing her to a sex object, goofy lunatic, or pathetic victim. It is extremely satisfying whenever she proves these people wrong.

#12 - Nathan the wiener dog ❤️!!!! The scatupult returns!! Harley Crew sleepover!!! “Red Tool” just goes by “The Tool” now, lmao. Amanda Connor/Jimmy Palmiotti do NOT disappoint. Their run is legendary for a reason.

#13 - I laughed way too hard at “Wheat Privilege: A socially conscious bakery.” This issue is a nice treat for fans who have to wait for season 3 of the HQ animated series. Bane’s dialogue is pure gold. He apologizes for “Banesplaining” the legion of doom, and I cackled. Patrick Schumacker is a gift to the world, man.

There are some duds. Some issues that are pretty forgettable. I think the highs make up for the lows. The one thing that kind of bothered me is that the last issue is a huge downer. Overall: good fun, and cheap $1 issues. The digital format is sleek and enjoyable.

Another three-colour anthology, though this one has a lot more nuance to its reds; perhaps that's the difference between the ...& Red books and the ...& Blood ones? Truly, a distinction almost as pointless as 'filioque', though at least this one hasn't got quite so many people killed. A fair few of these stories seem to be opportunities for artists such as Riley Rossmo and Dani to write as well, giving themselves the opportunity to draw whatever floats their boat with a character who works in enough registers that she'll take it in her stride – though given Erica Henderson's work elsewhere, I was expecting hers to be considerably crazier. Still very pleasing to behold, mind. Elsewhere, you've got people already known as writer-artists, like Mirka Andolfo and Stjepan Sejic, or the traditional teams – though to my surprise, Conner & Palmiotti, normally my vote for the definitive Harley Quinn creators, turn in a fairly unremarkable short; maybe they're just burned out on the character? Settings include whatever passes for the current core DCU, as well as the White Knight timeline and the world of the Harley cartoon, but let's face it, even aside from the mess that is modern DC continuity, Harley was never a character who exactly had a rigid relationship with canon; I think my favourite story may be the one by Tim Seeley and Juan Ferreyra, where she enters an underground rap battle in a bid to win a legendary tape of her ex freestyling, planning to then release it mixed with fart noises.

Not known for following the rules, Harley's splash of red gives a signature style to the black and white comics. It made me realize the thing I hate most about Margot Robbie's costume is how much blue has been added.

Harley is written best when her moments of being a ditzy blonde come from her seeing the world through a different lens rather than being actually stupid. She's not stupid, she has a PhD. No amount of Joker venom changes that. Also love how much she clowns on the Clown Prince of Crime. Dude can eat shit and boy does he. Love Ivy of course, but it's her few run ins with Batman that have the most heart. In this collection he sees Harleen Quinzel for who she is.

a series of one off stories featuring harley. the series is art focused moreso used to showcase the artists talents, which is nice i love when comics allow their artists to have more control over the stories. this features a lineup of really good artists which was a visual treat. i also loved the monochromatic coloring it works really well with harley. the stories themselves vary in quality the best one is definitely stjepan šejić’s follow up story to harleen (one of my favorite comics ever).

I love reading about Harley Quinn, and this collection was no different. While there were a few that were forgettable or not the strongest, there were many more that caught my interest and had me laughing or wanting more. This was an enjoyable collection, and I'll be keeping my eye out for some of the other collections some of these were inspired by.

Most of the stories are entertaining, but the three-colour artwork works better with some artists’ style than others. The lighter, simpler styles look awesome, while the busier styles look a bit chaotic without different colours to make the elements stand out.
