Burn
Book 3 in the Blood & Roses series. Please be aware that this is a Dark Romance novel and deals with serious themes, including violence and murder. This story is the third part in a series, each approx. 30-40k words in length. Please note * this is the re-edited version of the book. The novel sold on release day contained minor errors, all of which have now been resolved. Sloane I’m not safe. I haven’t been safe for a while now. I ran to Zeth for protection, but Zeth is in danger himself. With Julio on one side, and the leader of the Widow Makers MC on the other, the smartest thing to do would be to run. I’ve been running long enough, though. This is the closest I’ve come to finding my sister in two years. I can’t back down now. Zeth My right hand man’s being tortured in the basement. The guy who tried to buy Sloane’s virginity is burning rubber in our direction. My psychotic boss is on a mission to find me, and the girl I’m supposed to be keeping safe has landed herself right in the middle of all of this. This. Fucking. Series. I can't even right now. I just can't. Can we just talk about that ending for a second? Because for the love of fucking FUCK, I need Rebel's book like yesterday! Gah!
What a twisted and fucked up ride this continues to be. And I just can't get enough of it.
Just when I think that I figured something out and I know where it's headed....BAM! Cliffhanger. I'm convinced Callie Hart is just toying with us while she sits back in her writers chair devising even more madness while practicing her evil laugh.
But I suppose you want to know more about the actual book than my sleep deprived ramblings, right? Fine then.
When Sloane ran to Zeth for protection when Charlie's men broke into her house for Lacey in the middle of the night, she didn't know she'd be running straight into another devil. Now stuck in Julio's mansion, with Zeth's man, Michael, being interrogated, more and more suspicion continues to fall on Zeth. And Sloane is now stuck in the middle. With no choice but to attempt and pass her off as his latest piece of ass, Zeth is doing his best to protect her. But Sloane's backbone sometimes lets her mouth run ahead of her brain.
Of course it wouldn't be a book with these two if they weren't still going at it like bunnies at every turn. But hey, you won't find this bitch complaining because it's always just that perfect spice to the mix. Zeth is an animal and I don't think I'll ever have enough of him. The man is just utterly delicious.
In the midst of trying to figure out the web of lies around Charlie, Zeth also has to focus on protecting Sloane. And while Sloane fights what they seem to be developing between each other, Zeth is beginning to understand that he may be getting more than he bargained her and feelings are starting to get the best of him. Not that he's willing to let Sloane in on that
All of Sloane's searching for her missing sister leads up to the big reveal in this book when she finally comes face to face with Alexis. But she's in for the shock of a lifetime when she discovers just where she's been all this time...and with who.
I'm seriously in lust with this series. I don't know if I ever want it to end. Callie Hart takes a dark & sexy romance and weaves it together seamlessly with non stop action and so many twists and turns, it'll make your head spin. I know I said this in my review for Fracture but I’m saying it again, WOW!
The beginning started out a bit slow for me and then WHAM! The action took off and I was GLUED to my Kindle. There were SO many things I did NOT see coming and the twists and turns blew me away.
In this installment Sloane and Zeth finally find Alexis. The way they find her was not what I was expecting AT ALL! Alexis herself was not what I was expecting either. Sloane sure got a huge smack in the face, that’s for sure. I can hardly wait to read just how this whole Sloane/Alexis thing works out.
What I LOVED SO MUCH about this installment was that Zeth REALLY pulled through with helping Sloane deal with what was going on. He was her rock and that for me brought Burn to a whole other level for me.
With each new installment I read of this series the more I am completely captivated in the story and these characters.
I want to just jump right into Fallen but I’m going to do a buddy read and then I’ll be jumping right back into this series.

Burn is the third installment in the Blood & Roses-series by Callie Hart and the continuation of Zeth and Sloane's action-packed, unpredictable, deliciously dark romance story. From start to finish, I was kept on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next in this incredible page-turner. Since I loved the previous two books in this series, my expectations were very high, and let me tell you, Callie Hart did not disappoint!
Zeth and Sloane are fast becoming my new favorite book couple and I'm pretty sure Zeth is already on the top of my favorite bad boy alpha male hotties. The ever-present sexual tension between the two of them and their hilarious banter made for a perfect combination that made the story all the more fun to read.
"Have you seen me, sweetheart? I look like a fucking Abercrombie and Fitch model."
"No you don't! You look like fucking criminal. And you are a fucking criminal."
"A criminal who models for Abercrombie and Fitch?"
"Urgh!"
Well, he does have a point... lol.
I don't want to spoil the story so if you want to know what happens, I'd suggest reading the blurb. Telling much more would give away too much for future readers so I'm not going to elaborate on the storyline. What I can say though is that in each installment of the series the main characters keep developing and they keep growing, both together and by themselves. Sloane has become much more apprehensive, demanding and determined to fight for what she wants while Zeth is slowly starting to realize he might be capable of having feelings for someone after all...although he's still trying to hide behind his tough guy persona most of the time.
"He can hide behind the violence of his past all he likes, but I'm beginning to see the truth of him. I'm beginning to see the good that he so desperately hides away at all costs."
From alternating POV's we follow both Zeth and Sloane as they're trying to stay ahead of the dangerous criminals that are lurking around every corner while simultaneously coming closer and closer to finding out what happened to Sloane's sister all those years ago.
Burn is once again a fast-paced, unputdownable installment in this thrilling and addicting series by Callie Hart. The story ends with a bit of a cliffhanger or at least a surprising revelation (to say the least) and I'm already anxiously looking forward to the next part!

Alright, I confess...the whole I-will-review-every-book-in-this-series pledge is becoming a bit difficult, but just go with it. ;D
Let me try and sum this up. There is a whole lot of this going on:
Top notch execution, btw. Both on the author's and Zeth's part.
Yeah...
So, when my thoughts didn't go that particular way I was mostly just...
Because to be honest, it's all a bit ridiculous and OTT, but in a good way.
And then there was that thing...the thing you can't talk about without spoiling everything, but damn...
Mind you, not complaining. Just one little clue...I was already excited to read Rebel, but now I'm freaking ecstatic!

Damn This Addictive Roller Coaster!!!
He promised me it would feel good. It feels better than good. Forget fireworks. This feels like a nuclear fucking bomb is going off inside my head. I try to bite the scream back, but I can’t keep it in check. Since my vocal chords are being depressed, it doesn’t really matter anyway; I barely make a sound.
Sweet Laaawwd. There is smoke coming off of this book!! Zeth and Sloane continue to find themselves in life or death situations. I think this makes them feel frisky because they are insatiable. I loved how action packed this book was. Talk about page turner.
I suddenly feel very, very dirty. I need a shower, and I’m kind of steaming mad at Zeth. He fucks me in a hallway in front of a complete stranger, doesn’t have the decency to notice the complete stranger, and then ditches me to go hang out with an old prison buddy? This sounds way too much like something out of White Trash Days of Our Lives.
Zeth is so close to locating Sloane's sister. But there is a bad guy they must con, by the name if Julio Perez. He's a thug, lady trafficking, killer. And he is very suspicious of Zeth and Sloane's relationship. He doesn't believe Sloane is one of Zeth's whores.
“I’m afraid you seem to be confusing the dynamic of the relationship I share with Zeth, Mr Perez. I’m not the one on my knees begging for snippets of his affection. It’s entirely the other way around.”
“Sloane!” My ears ring as my head whips around. Zeth slaps me so hard I see stars. The look on his face is grim and determined. “Sloane, she’s dying. You have to think. What do you need to do?” He shakes me hard.
This book is fast paced, action packed, and sensual as hell!!! Gah, I love this writer and I can't get enough of Sloane and Zeth. They are both total badasses!! This book series is a must read!!!

I binged read this series over the last few days. They were addicting, so much so, that I’d finish a book and I wouldn’t even take the time to mark it finished on goodreads. I’d just move on to the next book. Referring to my reading experience as me being a crazed person wouldn't be an understatement.
With that said, I apologize because I had no idea that I wouldn’t be able to set the books down to review each one individually. Now that I’m done with the series I'm trying to remember what happened in certain books is hard because, to me, it’s one big story split into six books. To avoid devulging any spoilers I will keep this review brief.
During the course of these installments the character growth was brilliantly done. I loved all the characters... well except for the bad guys. Besides our hero and heroine (Zeth & Sloane) who I couldn't get enough of, my heart was captured by Lacey and Michael! Oh my gosh!! That’s a man I would like to get to know better. His loyalty, charm and swagger had me swooning to the very end! The world could use some more Michaels in it.
Holy hot tamales! The sexy times were off the charts! No worries they were throughout the whole series. Every man needs an inner Zeth when it comes to bedroom antics. *fanning myself*
Callie Hart has a new fan with me! When a book(s) can occupy my every thoughts that’s a winner for me. I’m lucky because this series was complete when I picked it up to read otherwise I would have gone nuts waiting for the next book.

5 IT KEEPS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER STARS
This fourth novella in the Blood and Roses series really heats up the action as Sloane and Zeth come face to face with Alexis. Of course, things don't quite turn out as Sloane planned and there's a lot we don't know about Alexis and what happened to her.
While Sloane is as strong as a rock and solid throughout this whole thing, now face to face with her sister and the situation, her emotions are all over the place. It's Zeth that keeps her centered and focused on the task at hand.
We`re also introduced to a few more players...in addition to the dangerously sexy Michael, we have an appearance by Cade (a member of the Widow Maker MC and someone Zeth knows from his past) and finally, the infamous Rebel arrives on the scene. While Zeth`s got me on my knees and has my sole attention...
...all of these men and the potential for future stories is like heaven...
Zeth and Sloane are still like a live wire with their sexual escapades. Zeth takes any opportunity to get down to business...
“I feel like a kid in a playground, and her body is my own personal ride.”
And these two get so caught up in each other that there`s even a sizzling scene of public sex!
“A few moments ago, Zeth’s weight on me felt like a prison, and now…now I want him to smother me with himself, so that the only thing I can breathe and see and feel and smell is him.”
I'm really enjoying my binge on this fantastic series!! One thing that's got me on edge above all else is Zeth's hard boundary around no kissing (I get it -- what he's afraid of)...
BUT, let me tell you, when they do kiss, this girl is gonna be...

In Burn, the heat is rising between Zeth and Sloane. Sloane is still trying to find her sister. Zeth knows that he is feeling something for Sloane but he can't quite let go of the darkness long enough to process it.

Four suspenseful-yet-slightly-unrealistic Stars!
Having to step away from the Blood & Roses series to read a few arcs, I was excited to get back into it. I'd also read Rebel recently and I'd heard I would get to meet this badass biker President in Burn. I just didn't realize how much would happen in this book as far as plot line. It started out a bit slow but surged ahead the second half of the book. Devoured it.
I'm going to keep this short and sweet. This series is awesome. It's consistently delivering in all things rather dark, antihero, suspense, and major steam factor. We get a biker fix, a drug cartel fix, an erotic fix, a suspense fix. We get it all. The 'relationship' between the two main MCs- Sloane and Zeth- is a slow burn. Their chemistry is off the charts but Zeth is a man slow at letting his heart show- refusing to cross the line from lust to love. But we see his transformation...both their transformations where their walls are slowly coming down brick by brick.
Rebel and Alexis (aka Sophia)- well, it's nice to finally meet you, Rebel! After reading his book, I knew the true Rebel versus the reputation that precedes him in this series. Having said that, and now reading this installment, I kind of wish I'd read this particular book first. I guess it doesn't really matter though as Rebel takes place days after Alexis is abducted and this series timeline is 2-3 years after. So each way the reader goes, there's a bit of a spoiler (whether you read this book before Rebel or not). Confused?
The unrealistic part of the book is, once again, medical. The nurse in me cringes at scenes where surgeries take place upon a kitchen table, including organ harvesting...while the patient is hypovolemic and in shock. Nope. Doesn't happen. They don't live. Nada. Zilch. Goner. Splitsville. But this is fiction after all...I'll just look the other way (while gritting my teeth).
Anywho, this series just keeps getting better and better. Cannot wait for Zeth to fall in love. Lustful Zeth is awesome...but to see the man fall for Sloane will be epic (and it better happen dammit).

This book was awesome! It really kept me glued to the pages.
It has A LOT of action, suspence, some wonderful dialogues between Zeth and Sloane.
He was jealous (AT LAST!). She was still afraid to hope there was something more between them.
It was a very interesting read! It surprized me a lot! I don't really want to reveal too much, because THIS BOOK DESERVES TO BE READ!
I love the author's writing style!!! It gets addictive!!!

If you like your books full of action with a touch of dark and lots of sexy you better pick this series up and read it:))

Oh my, how I missed this man...I had some serious withdrawal! He was everything I wanted and was everything I thought he'd be: hot, dangerous, unpredictable, cocky, and definitely fine to look at,too.
The story takes off where book 2, Fracture, ended - Zeth and Sloane at Julio's villa, looking for her missing sister, pretending to be someone else.
It was not easy and both had to put on their poker faces but dang, what a ride it was. Sloane played a pretty tough chick and even Zeth had to think twice, figuring out what her plan was. Both knew they can't mess and completely trick Julio...and that, he has proven them at the end *sighs*
These two were toying with each other; giving away more and more clues about their messed up 'relationship'. Sloane sees glimpses of a Zeth she refused to see. She trusted him more and more and he was like a sponge, soaking it up, enjoying the feeling having Sloan around him -and on him ;)Somehow this brave but fragile looking doctor snaked herself into Zeth's mind...and heart.
He too, showed Sloane that there's more to him than what he gives himself credit for. She evokes stuff inside him that he kept under lock-down for years.
"How is it that a man like him, a man made to be a weapon of mass destruction and little else, has seen more in us than I have? ... Well Sloane, how about you stop denying yourself the one and only thing you truly want -HIM?!?!
Callie put some action in this little story and we see fists fly, weapons shoot, and people you love get hurt. Yeah the last 20 percent made me a bit nervous and I thought all hope is lost. But dang you, Callie. Your ending, smh, we've to talk about this LOL
This woman always leaves me hanging longing for more... more Zeth!
Burn is def a great ride and has also everything in it what made you fall in love with in book 1 and 2: action, suspense, and lots of steamy scenes so that your little mind has a fun field trip into Zeth-wonderland!

I LOVE these characters, Zeth and Sloane have quickly made their way onto of my favorites list!
With Burned, we begin to see our characters changing. Zeth is becoming more vulnerable, allowing Sloane to penetrate his walls and Sloane is becoming more sexually aware and we are seeing that she is becoming fierce.
Also, what I love about this serial (besides they are freaking hot) is it is funny! Whether it is the banter between the characters or their internal dialogue I find myself laughing between the grit, the steam and the suspense.
This serial has it all, it's funny, sexy and suspenseful. The characters are well developed and the writing is excellent. I am loving it!
I could keep writing and continuing to share my love for these books, but that would take me away from reading and well, sorry, but I want to keep reading. It is Fallen next for me!

In Burn zeth and Sloane are still in the Mexican house and Sloane is anxious to see her sister. In this book we see a little, tine-tiny emotion of zeth so he's not all that bad. Beneath all that sexiness ;) is a softy after all.
We also got to see a development in their relationship. Zeth and slone are perfect together and I want MORE! and I can't wait to read the rest.

In the third installment, Burn, the relations between Sloane and Zeth continue to escalate - in and out of the bedroom! Every time they are together, Zeth pushes Sloane’s boundaries and she is more than willing to accept what Zeth is offering.
“I need more than just his fingers. I want all of him, buried balls deep inside me, pounding into me until all I see is stars.”
With Zeth’s help, Sloane continues to search for her sister, but Sloane is not prepared for the truth. This new information is shocking to Sloane and it only begs for more questions about how and why. We are also introduced to the “dark and dangerous” Rebel - the president of a motorcycle club.
The friendship between Michael and Zeth is a refreshing element to Zeth’s dark world, as he is the perfect compliment to Zeth.
Lacey is still Lacey. What is her role? Can she be trusted?
Each novella continues to get better and the layers just keep getting stacked upon each other. I love Callie Hart’s writing style - she has a way of making the reader feel engaged with every character and feel the emotion in these books.
I highly recommend this series and author!!

In amongst the tension and drama the budding relationship between Zeth and Sloane is not so straight forward but evolves as much as it can considering the circumstances they find themselves in. Their relationship was formed in less than traditional circumstances they still have the intimacy and chemistry that bonds them. The search for her sister continues, Zeth opens up more, pasts are revealed, more questions are raised and the heat between them burns every brightly.
I'm really enjoying this series so far and can't believe how invested I am in Zeth and Slone.
The plots keeps moving forward in such a fluid and exciting way without being too over dramatic or unrealistic. I have to say it's one of the only books I read lately that as a reader I find myself truly caring about the supporting characters and wanting to also know their stories too, Laceys for instance and now obviously Rebels.
As much as my heart can't take much more suspense, I'm looking forward to the next instalment.

The problem with reading and waiting for installment is that I have problem trying to remember what happened in the previous one. It took me a couple of pages to get back on track because I'm just too lazy to do a reread.
Last book ended with Sloane went to the Mexican brothel to look for Zeth. They were going to save her sister, Alexis who was suppose to reside in the brothel. It was a really short one, but there is enough hot scene to curb my appetite.
"I'm sure she has seen bigger. Alaska used to work in porn. The guys who work in that industry are normally freaks."
"Well, I'm sure you could work in porn, then."
"Oh, Sloane. Did you just compliment my cock?"
Finally, we see Zeth trying to open up and convey some of his feelings, which is totally rare. Both Sloane and me was surprised by some of his revelation. But we know he is a good guy at heart, or else why would he went through all this for her.
He can hide behind the violence of his past all he likes, but I'm beginning to see the truth of him. I'm beginning to see the good that he so desperately hides away at all costs.
I love the little surprised we got in regards on Alexis. Oh boy, another MC prez for me to pant after. Can't wait for the spin off, Rebel. I also need this series with Zeth and Sloane to end quick, all the waiting is just too frustrating.

This is book 3 of 6, and each ends bleeds into the next one.
I highlighted this bc it made me laugh but it won't show up as a note for this book since I am reading this series in the boxed set...
He fucks me in a hallway in front of a complete stranger, doesn't have the decency to notice the complete stranger, and then ditches me to go hang out with an old prison buddy? This sounds way too much like something out of White Trash Days of Our Lives.
At this point, I am starting to better understand the main characters and what motivates and drives them. I am still struggling to see how they would work together, but the nonstop action in these books makes the pages fly by.

~ Sloane’s parents seemed to be good for Lacey and it was nice to see her portrayed as a little happier
~ the missing sister is found. I will say there was a bit of a twist I wasn’t expecting.
~ Going in to this book my goals was just to see the conclusion of the sister’s rescue and then I would stop this series. It’s just been kind of ok for me. But the sister twist has made me interested in that aspect of the story. So, I’m going to continue on with book 4. But does this series really need to be six short books???
~ another short book. Took less than two hours to finish.

In this book we found out more things about our favourite characters a.k.a known as Zeth and Sloane !
Following their 'so called' adventures , found our more about their fantasies and stuggles...
In most of the book they were apart from each other but that doesn't bother me, not even A BIT !!! Because when they are together.. EVERYTHING IS OFF CHARTS!!!
And the good part OF COURSE is ZETH !!!
I fall inlove with him more and moooore! I can't get enough of this guy, really! His humour, his filthy mouth, dirty mind, protectiveness, ALPHA attitude .. this is all him and yet in this book we can see the good, soft side of him that he know how to hide very well! He is not really good with expressing his feeling via words BUT his actions talk A LOT more! I loved how he wants to shelter and protect Sloane , help her with everything he can. When she needed him, he was THERE .. always!
He wanted to show Sloane that he would never lie to her, that she can be herself when she is with him and that he would do whatever it has to be done in order to help her find her sister. He is protective not only over Sloane, but over Lacey too which is one of the most thoughtfull things he ever done and he doesn't even realize it!
Andddd well, I have girl crush on Sloane ! This girls keeps amazing me with her bravery and fierceness. She is an incredible badass doctor in a messed up world but she never complained. She didn't give a shit about consequences when the things go worng, she just did what it had to be done. She is an amazing fighter, with big heart and strong mind!
Their love is CLEAR to see! And the SEX scenes! OMG! THIS SHIT IS SO HOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTTTTT! . Zeth is madman we KNOW THAT! But, oh boy, he knows his way to pleasure his woman!!!
