Here's the book fans of Cooper and Sam have been waiting for. Their first book, RUINED, is book 6 in the McIntyre Security Bodyguard Series. But, their story began long before RUINED. And their story continues long after. In Wrecked, you'll find out how these two met and fell in love. You'll also find out what their future brings ( there are wedding bells). Fans have waited patiently a long time for this story to come out. The wait will soon be over.
I write about alpha protectors who fall in love hard and unconditionally, through the good and the bad. My characters are strong, sexy, and slightly damaged... because no one is perfect. All of my novels have happy-ever-after endings. What else would you expect from a die-hard romantic? I'm the author of the McIntyre Security Bodyguard Series of contemporary romance novels.
I live in Ohio with my daughter and more than a few dogs and cats. When I'm not writing, I'm reading romance novels and watching movies with happy endings. I'd love to hear from you! You can e-mail me at aprilwilsonwrites@outlook.com. Or, visit my website: aprilwilsonauthor.com.
This was a great book but honestly I found myself skipping most of it until I got to part 2. Up to that point it was all stuff that was in the other books. Even part 2 was so rushed that I felt left out. This would have been a better book if it just took over wher the other one ended. Was disappointed in this one.
Holy moly, hold onto your hearts people because you’re about to lose it to these beautiful characters as we delve into Cooper and Sam’s past, present and future. And trust me it’s a wild, unforgettable ride that will blow your mind!!
I love all April Wilson’s McIntyre books. They’re all so addictive and compelling. Each book pulls you in from the first word, giving you a perfect front row seat to the most wonderful stories.
I have loved Cooper and Sam since the beginning. I have to say that April Wilson is one of two authors I can honestly say write the best M/M romance. She absolutely nails all the emotions of the characters. Her scenes are flawless and the depth she brings to this and every other book is just amazing!!
Seeing how Cooper and Sam first crossed paths brought more clarity to their story. it gives us a starting point and the ability to really understand where they were both coming from.
I think April Wilson really nailed the way gay couples were treated in different eras. My heart bled for Cooper’s pain and suffering. He’s such a beautiful man, a true protector who deserves everything good life has to offer. I feel like I understand his mistakes with Sam more.
I also loved seeing Sam and Coopers start from Sam’s point of view. This man is such a beautifully open character. His light brings warmth to everyone in his path. You can see his heart is involved from the very beginning. I think his refreshing openness is something not many people have today, so it was refreshing and heartwarming to see Sam’s character engulf everyone in his warmth. He’s the perfect partner for Cooper.
I absolutely adored the ending, the sprinkles on top of an already perfect cake.
Absolutely amazing read!!! 5 stars just aren’t enough to do such a powerful and heartachingly beautiful read justice.
I've only read a handful of this author's books, one of which was "Ruined." Sam and Cooper became one of my very favorite couples in this genre. When I found out that their story would be continued, I jumped on preordering it.
When it dropped into my Kindle, I'm happily reading and reading when I suddenly hit a passage (one of many) that was so familiar, I knew I had to have read it before. And it turns out I did--In other words, this book reads like a rehash of Sam and Cooper's story from previous books where they've appeared. Apparently "Wrecked" is supposed to be a "prequel/sequel." Except it's not much of a sequel until you get to the end of the book and the epilogue.
A prequel works for me if it gives me information that I didn't already have and said information enhances the story and the characters. But not a regurgitation of what the reader has already read which, in my opinion, was what this story basically was. I'm familiar with Sam and Cooper, and what I read was not what I was anticipating. I thought "Wrecked" was going to have new Sam/Cooper adventures/trials/tribulations, until they eventually get to their much-deserved "happily ever after." Sorry, but I have to give this book a bronze raspberry. So disappointed.
Wrecked is the 18th (#18) book in the McIntyre Security series
This is Sam and Cooper’s story from the very beginning to their HEA, told through their eyes. Their connection is there from the very first time they meet but their path to a happy ever after doesn’t run smooth, but they are both determined to keep the ones they love safe no matter what it takes….

This is a lovely accumulation of Sam and Cooper’s story from beginning to current day, giving their view of events that take place during their courtship, covered in book1 onwards.
I’ve always had a soft spot for Sam but do find Cooper a bit hypocritical at times. Ms Wilson writes easy to read, enjoyable books and this one was no exception.
I read a paperback edition of this book and at around 371 pages it was a good meaty read. The cover was in the same style as previous books in the series with a great picture depicting Cooper in all his despair. There were a few editing issues but they didn’t interfere with my enjoyment of this story.
OMG I loved Sam & Cooper before but if possible I love them even more.
If you have read Fearless (bk 2) Shattered (bk 4) & Ruined (bk 6) you’ll know about their rocky start but this amazing book, Wrecked, gives you all the insight into their struggles they’ve had. Can be read as a standalone but you’ll enjoy Wrecked even more with a backstory
A very hot sexy steamy heartwarming and perfect story for a wonderful couple to get their very very happy ending.
Side note: Tissues at the ready advisable
I rate this book 10/5. I cannot recommend this more and if you haven’t read any of this brilliant series, McIntyre Security Bodyguard Series, where have you been. Go grab book 1 Vulnerable right now!
This was another fantastic story, and a great addition to the series. The only thing that I wish was different would be the parts of the story where they were involved in certain situations in the previous books. Most of them were glossed over. I would have liked it more if those situations were at least briefly described, as I think that it would have made more of an impact. It would've also been easier for those who have already read the previous books to remember what happened numerous stories before ,and it wouldn't have given away spoilers to those who haven't. JMO! I'm looking forward to reading more stories from this series. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
This is the 18th book in this fabulous series, and in this one April Wilson Surpasses herself. It is a prequel/sequel telling the story of how Sam and Cooper first met, how they fell in love, broke each others hearts and reconciled. Set before and after Ruined, We then have an up to date with them letting us know how they are and what they’re currently up to. Funny, sad, heartbreaking, and I defy anyone not to have tears rolling down their face reading the epilogue, which sets up further stories beautifully.
I re read this series on a regular basis, and Wrecked will be re read many times.
All of the Cooper and Sam goodness. Both have been favorites since they first entered the series and now I love them even more. Getting their POV to the different events and hurdles was fascinating and the emotions were full bodied. I loved seeing how they reacted to the McIntyre family and support. Getting to see Sam’s interview and his response to things was a treat and made him even more lovable. The epilogue was so good and introduced a new couple that I am here for! It also presented a beautiful gesture that I loved for them, but I also would stress about. So happy for Sam and Cooper! A beautiful addition to a great world and series.
I was waiting for this book, and it didn't disappoint at all I love the relationship between Sam and Dan as well as the others. It told the story of two different generations and the freedoms one has and the consequences when one doesn't and the ripples that cause. It was fantastic to see the whole of the characters we all love and a surprise at the end not a dry eye in the house. April Wilson has a nack of pulling you into all of her characters' lives and makes you feel you're part of the family living the highs and lows with each character. Ready for the next one now.
I enjoyed this entry in the series. I love Cooper and Sam and Ruined was one of my favorite books in the series. The first part of the book is about things we already know but from Sam & Cooper's point of view. I think this added depth to what we know about them and their past together. The second half was very well done and gave this reader everything she wanted from the book. I would recommend this book. but I strongly recommend reading at least Ruined prior to reading Wrecked.
2.5 stars. I read this because I’ve read all the books in this and the connected series and I feel invested. This authors very step by step writing style isn’t for me as it doesn’t feel smooth. I don’t get why this book was 2/3 a recap of the past and 1/3 the new stuff. The recap was nice, but it’s hard to root for Cooper after reading that. He did Sam dirty in so many ways that you wondered why Sam even wanted Cooper.
I have thoroughly enjoyed Sam’s and Coopers book, it did not disappoint me. Coopers was from era that you were endanger, which is what happened to Cooper. What the boys did to him & Cody. I’m glad he was able to make sure the boys who threw them in the river. Please read the whole series to understand Coopers and Sam’s role in McIntyre Security Bodyguard series.
Swoon. I love seeing Cooper and Sam's story from beginning to end from their POV. I read Vulnerable so many years ago, this was like going back to the beginning and visiting old friends again. It was sweet, swoon, and fills in so many gaps in their story that I desperately wanted. Get your feels ready, IYKYK how rocky a start they had. It was a joy to experience it all over again.
This is Cooper and Sam’s story. We got part of their story in Ruined. This book goes deeper in both Sam’s POV and also Cooper’s POV. I loved the book. I don’t read many MM romances but Sam and Cooper are special people in my heart. I loved the ending where Cooper got his red haired child.
Sam and Cooper’s highly anticipated continued story is here! This iconic couple is due their HEA. Some “Wilsonites” were begging April for their origin story and some for their wedding and beyond. Nicely, April Wilson gave us both! My favorite parts were the prequel (to where Ruined starts) and the guys new POV throughout.
Always loved cooper and sam. So it was nice to revisit and reread the story of Sam and cooper over the beginning couple of books. Loved to finally get to see their happily ever after. They deserved a happy wedding and happy life. Loved the ending. I honestly hope we get a novella of Troy and Rachel. So good
Sam and Cooper have been one of my favorite couples since it became apparent that they would be a couple. I understood Cooper’s position and his fear, but I also understood how different Sam’s life was and why he was so frustrated. It was such a study in generational differences and how love truly can conquer anything. Awesome to get all the pieces and the happy ending!
This is such a good story for Cooper and Sam. Their story threads throughout the other books as well as their first but this is the icing on the cake and it's so beautifully written. I felt for them both as the story progressed to a fabulous ending. Beth and Shane play a lovely part too. No spoilers, just read and enjoy
April Wilson has outdone herself this time. I love Cooper and Sam already and now, I'm more in love with their story. Wrecked surpassed my expectations. There was an assortment of feels...anger, laughter, tears. This book is one of her best!!!
Fell in love with Sam & Cooper when reading the McIntrye series. Their story in Ruined and now in Wrecked was absolutely touching. April really brings the characters to life.
Lots of new background and reminiscing. In my second read I’d stop and reread the book that time was about just as a reminder. Such a great ending. Can’t wait for what is next in this fantastic series.
I love this book!! Love the series! I love this prequel and sequel of coopers and Sam’s story! I cried happy tears! They are one of my favorite characters and couples. Can’t wait for more from this series!
My lack of love for this book is my misunderstanding. I didn’t realize 86% of this book would just be repeating the same story from different perspectives. 13% was new. I would have skipped it had I paid attention.
What a great story. I thought they would never get their HEA. It took Cooper a long time to figure out what and who he wanted in his life. Sam was very patient through the whole progression of Cooper finding what he wanted.
Cooper & Sam had a rough start but they came together finally I loved their story because we saw them in Ruined and this finally brought their whole story together hopefully we’ll have a bonus into their future with new baby and family with Shane, Beth, Luke & Ava too
I'm in tears of happiness. Love is love no matter what anyone believes or thinks. These characters have always been real to me. I've cried tears of joy and pain for both Sam and Cooper. But I want to know what happened in Sweetwater.
Cooper and Sam . Total opposites but a perfect fit. They make it more interesting. I love these two characters and of course we've all been watching and waiting and hoping for their addition. Can't wait for the next story.
Cooper and Sam … from the beginning! Written with tenderness and love. A must read for all the Cooper and Sam fans out there. And if you aren’t yet, you will be after you read Ruined then come back for this one!
Cooper and Sam are one of my favourite couples. I could read their story over and over and still feel all the emotions every time. I can't get enough of them and I'm so glad April wrote more of their journey.
Well, that wasn't what I expected. I've only read a handful of books by this author and yet I knew exactly what was going to happen because it was told in previous books. Nothing new. What a waste.
