Dark forces are circling the wonky inn. Landowners are baying for blood, the bulldozers are poised to attack, road planners threaten the existence of Speckled Wood and every ancient tree and sacred clearing is marked for eradication. But that's not all ... Someone wants Alfhild Daemonne dead and the Daemonne family name scratched from history. Once labelled the wonkiest witch of all time, Alf has come a long way. She's not one to blink in the face of adversity. However, there are other factors in play and perhaps Alf will need to trade her land and her beloved inn and ghosts to save her own skin. Why? It's time for the final showdown.
Alf is not exactly pleased that the Wonky Inn is hosting the Verdancy Festival at Wizard Shadowmancer’s request, but at least it’s Charity’s responsibility. Unfortunately, Alf is not left in peace as the wonkiness increases and magick runs wild. Inanimate objects come to life, the compost heap starts eating hats, baked goods wreak havoc, and poltergeists throw tantrums. Something seems to be watching Alf and the inn, but what for. Wizard Shadowmancer and Grandma Gwen know more than they’re saying, leaving Alf uneasy. Even Mr. Hoo is out of sorts. What exactly is the real purpose of the festival and what is Alf’s part to play?
A delightfully off kilter adventure for our favorite wonky witch and her lovable ghosts. The sense of foreboding throughout gives some nice chills as we try to figure out what it all means. There are also some genuine laughs at the objects run amok throughout the festival. The surprising ending for both Alf and Mr. Hoo tied the whole thing up perfectly. Ms. Wycherley never fails to entertain with her wonderfully imaginative storytelling.

This story is charming and exciting. It has such unique and quirky characters. Alf is a spunky young witch. She owns and runs the Whittle Inn. A Quirky Inn that is staffed by mostly ghosts. It is a hot spot for unique paranormals. The Inn sets on a huge parcel of land including a mysterious woods behind it. As she fears the festival is very wacky with magic going hay wire. Alf ends up with her hands full. She also learns fate throws her a huge curve. You will love this quirky, wacky, funny, and exciting paranormal romance.
Alfhild is in a spot of bother no doubt ,someone is baying not only for her heritage to be wiped out but her too! Yes you read this correctly so something needs to been done swift and directly . The Wonky Inn is in bother too and Alf isn’t too happy as you can tell. Lose the Inn as well ! Oh no! There’s lots of happenings in this tale and she cannot afford to fail . This wonky witch has come a long way . She’s not going to end up this way . The inn is her mainstay and he she will remain but best not say until her dying day hey? Don’t want to jinx her …. Brilliantly immersive and never cursive are these Wonky Inn tales by Jeannie Wycherley. Excellently penned and the characters are like an old friend you’ve come to know . It’s got some great descriptions too to further immerse you in.
I don’t even know where to begin! There was so much happening, it was crazy. Things that shouldn’t be talking or acting alive, were. Spirits were becoming more abundant. Like I said, things were crazy! And this was supposed to be a fun festival. But you just had no idea what was gonna happen next. Alf’s big reveal at the end was a wonderful surprise. I had a feeling it was going to happen, but then when it did, it was even better. I just hope this doesn’t mean the end of the series, but it sure did sound like it could be. Please, please say it’s not. I love this series.

Somewhat darker than her usual cozy-style mystery, By All That's Green by Jeannie Wycherley embroils witch Alf in slightly sinister goings-on in the woods near her Whittle ('Wonky') Inn. Prevailed upon to hold a Verdancy Festival, she has spooky encounters with trees, Mummers and animated food amongst other events. Mr Hoo, Alf's owl familiar is behaving very strangely - as are Wizard Shadowmender and her ghostly Grandmama, Gwyn...what's going on? You're sure to love By All That's Green this magical Halloween - so magick up a copy today!.

This is number 20 in the series, also the first one I have had a chance to read. It definitely peaked my interest, I do think I need to read more of the books in the series to get better background. This book is a great cozy and quick read. It does start out with anything and everything magical happening almost instantly. At times it could be overwhelming but definitely makes your imagination work overtime. I did enjoy the banter between the characters and the overall story line. I will be reading more of the series to gain more knowledge and background for my own personal understanding.

Alf is the owner of the "Wonky" Whittle Inn (where many of us have stayed throughout the series -- and still don't want to leave). When it is decided by Wizard Showdermender to hold the Verdancy Festival there, Alf wasn't enthusiastic with the idea. Things start to go... uh "wonky". Something odd is happening and omens abound. What's going on in the nearby woods? Even her familiar Mr Hoo is acting very oddly. Is everyone in danger? Will Alf need to step in to discover what is going on and how to unravel this craziness? And what is happening to the Heart Tree?
Alf really didn't want to host the Verdancy Festival at the Wonky Inn - but it was Charoty's project. Little did they all realise what the festival would awaken. Will Alf and Silvan be save? What's happening with Mr Hoo? Lots of fun. twists and turns - love the stroy line, and the characters. This series is always a good fun read!.

This book kind of threw me for a loop. I've been reading this series since the beginning and have loved all the ups and downs, the crazy people, the magic, basically everything. But, this as the ending of the series is very surprising to me. I guessed odds and ends throughout the book but it wasn't up to the author's normal ability. I still love the series and will definitely read it again one day.

A crazy festival mayhem, and in the midst of the festival chaos, something awakens: ominous, dreadful, ancient. I think that one of the creatures put a laughing spell on me, or there's some other magickal explanation for my continuous laughter while I'm reading this book and waiting for the horror to explode. Plus, tempting me with crazy pastries. I like Alf the sullen, sarcastic witch.

We have come to expect things to never go to plan when hosting at the Wonky Inn but I really do think that the annual Verdancy magical festival has taken the cake for mayhem. The characters we meet and the spooky feelings we get made this a great read and Alf has a surprise at the end.
Entertaining and well plotted cozy fantasy: good world building, likeable characters, a lot of fun. Want to read the rest of the series Highly recommended. Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine.

Wow! Utter absolute chaos. On steroids. With a side of mayhem. And havoc. Not to mention bedlam, madness, and pandemonium. Poor Alf, nobody will give her a straight answer as to what is happening or what is expected of her. It was an absolutely hilarious book and I LOVED it!
Ms. Wycherley's writing style is conversational and casual. Her likeable and interesting characters develop at a good rate and gain more depth as the series continues. Her fast paced, funny and intriguing story lines do a good job setting the foundations from which all her series are build with seamless blendings of the old with the new. There's plenty of intrigue and suspense with twists you just don't see coming sometimes. The original reviews can be found under the individual books.
