With revelations unfolding, Harper’s true identity set a wildfire raging out of control. Mistakes and fractured memories rewound precious connections, endangering everything Tiris ever wanted. When Tyl the Farsighted opened everyone’s hearts and minds to love, it was done with the understanding that loving another came with great risk. Cynergian foxes, in particular, were predisposed to a type of grief so crippling it extinguished their Ember at the cost of their life. Nothing good in this universe ever comes easy, and the greater the love...the greater the agony. Cursed by love, Tiris still desperately pursued it. Mounting pressure from all sides weighed heavily on the ailing Prime. The second family’s followers want him off the throne and will use anything to their advantage. This was the worst time for any weakness to show, especially now when a powerful new player to the game had stepped in his way, blocking his path to Harper for their own amusement, hellbent on watching his demise.
Dusting herself off and picking up the pieces was just what Harper did, but aside from losing her livelihood, there was something else, something she just couldn’t seem to recall, no matter how hard she tried. Adjusting to her new lifestyle took some work and a lot of soul-searching. She got through the rough spots by staying busy and attempting not to dwell on the past—or what she could remember of it. She had plenty of work, wild new friends, and some pissy old pals vying for her attention. Even her time as a murder suspect looked to be behind her, and things had started to settle. Life wasn’t all drama—until she met her new boss.
And I am hooked on this series. Another book that made me stupidly happy and had me fall more in love with all these characters (except you, James, and some other characters that deserve hating). So sad what is happening to Tiris and Harper in this one.
Tenko's tails are so cute, and I'm so very happy we get to have a ride in Tenko's mind and see what he thinks.
Harper is just such a good soul and character. Every time she falls, she gets up even stronger and never gives up.
Tiris has a very hard time in this book, struggling with Harper's stolen memories and everything they had together. Very sad for him, but at the same time, Tiris, you need a smack in the head for how you act. Please get your act together.
So sad everyone is starting to remember bits of younger Harper, and they can't share them with her. We see how Harper was when she was young and her happy family. I love every time I see a flashback of her.
Mara is having so much fun with everything she does to Harper and Tiris; she likes to torment them. Well, not surprising there, and she even dropped him some hints and flashbacks about them.
I have to says the ending was so good, and I simply love it. 😂😂😂 I need to run and read the next book fast. I need to know what is happening next with that ending. 😂

I will start by saying that The Scribemaster Chronicles: Spectres far exceeded my expectations!! The loooong wait was soooo worth it!!! Tenko is the BESTEST ❤️ The Tenko Tails additions have made not only my day but my month!!! They are just brilliant!! Thank you so much for them 🤗❤️ Tenko is just so cute 🤗🤗 I can’t help but melt when I read his thoughts! I love that he calls Harper his puppy and it was so adorable to see that she always gave him carrots as treats even when she was a kid and she was blackmailing her dad to show her the puppy 🤣. I love how he plots savaging everyone else. What he did to the twins’ desk killed me from laughter 😂 and I’m sorry to say but Kino definitely deserves to be savaged by Tenko (yes poor Kino but Tenko has superior intelligence 😤). Harper is definitely my favorite FMC. I just adore her. I really appreciate how her pain and her road to healing, with the setbacks and all, are depicted. If there’s one thing that can be said about the author’s writing is that they really delve into these issues and don’t use them just to give the books a bit of drama. I appreciate so much that such subjects are treated in a realistic and thoughtful way. Definitely one of the reasons I love this series so much. I’m so looking forward to Harper’s further character development ❤️ I also absolutely love all her childhood flashbacks 🤗❤️ she’s just so adorable! But also they highlight how much pain she’s gone through in comparison 🥲 As for Tiris, I have been under Red’s spell since book 1 when he appeared at the bike crash scene. Also, anyone who manages to get Tenko’s love is a keeper! That being said, Red is just my favorite book boyfriend so far. If you know you know 😉 I can go on and on about all the characters, I have so much to say 🤣, but I won’t spoil the book more than I already have 😆 But I will say that the depicted fighting/combat scenes are so detailed it was a movie in my head! And the plot is getting so intriguing: Who is the Scribemaster? Who is Karthanian? And what is an Arcana? I need so much more background about some characters especially Callon, Coal and Tyll. And that cliffhanger??!! Thank everything that book 3 has also been published and that I can read it immediately 🥹🤣🤗
