One lonely villager One boyband obsessed farmer And one epically accidental kidnap
Laurie Hamilton loves nineties boybands, almost as much as she loves her family farm. She’s barely ventured outside of the quiet Scottish town she calls home. So, when she’s asked to deliver this year’s Christmas trees, she has no choice but to hit the open road and turn the sound system up.
But almost running the hottest resident of Christmas Common off the road during his daily run, was not part of her schedule. In any other lifetime this would be the perfect meet-cute, but they live five-hundred miles apart, seeing him again is not an option.
Simon Anderson knows he’ll never find love unless he makes a drastic change. Being accidentally kidnapped in the back of the van used to deliver the church’s Christmas tree, isn’t quite the adventure he was looking for.
Stranded miles from home, he has two choices, go home to an empty cottage or spend the run up to Christmas helping Laurie and her family bring their famous sleigh rides back to life… as their Santa.
As the snow clears, returning to normality proves harder than they both imagined. Christmas is fast approaching and now they’re closer than ever. Unwilling and unable to give each other up, the only solution is for Simon to stay one more day.
Louise Hudson adores all things romance, from musicals, to films and most importantly books. Her kindle is permanently by her side so she can steal every spare opportunity to catch up on reading. Having discovered her love of storytelling at a young age, she decided it was now time to start sharing her characters with the world.
Her stories are full of heat and heart and will make you laugh, cry and fall in love.
Simon is looking for love and Laurie has given up. When she runs him off the road sparks and gravel fly. The attraction is immediate and thanks to some meddling these two are forced to spend the lead up to Christmas together.
There are some laugh out loud funny moments in this book and when you are not laughing you are going to be smiling. As Simon and Laurie start to come together they start to heal past hurts. Their chemistry is off the charts . You are going to fall in love with these two.
When you start to read this book and you start to think that Simon is quite - I would like you to remember it is always the quite ones you need to watch. He is hot as hell.
This is actually book three of three and the last book in a series called The Nativity Series. Each book can very easily be read as a stand alone but of course are always much better when enjoyed as part of the whole series.
I was pulled into this books pages right from the very first page and it did not let me go again until i had read every last page and devoured it all in a couple of sittings - perfect!!
I absolutely loved Simon and Laurie, they were just perfect for each other, Simon was so lost and just didn’t know where he fit in and Laurie soon found out that he was just what she needed on the farm. I loved the way that they met, it was absolutely wonderful and such a good story for them to tell. Simon may not have had any family but he definitely had found family…
This Christmas novella was super sweet, swoonworthy and romantic, it was very very funny - in parts i was absolutely crying with laughter!! It was feel-good, heartwarming and had a gorgeous sprinkling of spiciness too and i loved everything about it…
I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed reading Sleigh Another Day. As soon as I started reading, I knew I wouldn’t be able to put it down.
The chemistry between Laurie and Simon is one to be reckoned with and I can only dream of finding a love like they have. Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes a bit of romance as well as a fun Christmassy story.
If I could rate it more than 5 stars I would but I will settle for 5 stars for the time being.
Happy to have received this ARC. A sweet and spicy holiday novella you don’t wanna miss. I loved the playfulness and sweetness of the characters, just a tad bit of conflict and miscommunication which was quickly resolved. Quick fun holiday read that I definitely recommend!
Tropes: Strangers to lovers Insta love Spicy Christmas Forced proximity
Let me start by saying it’s a cute and funny novella. Loved that we got to meet the characters from the previous novellas as well, while still getting introduced to new people.
The thing I had a hard time with while reading was that I couldn’t really feel the chemistry between the main characters like I normally do with Louise Hudson’s novellas. Maybe that’s because of how Simon’s personality is and how he talks about dating and love, but I don’t know.
It was still a great holiday treat and I will recommend it to my friends who read.
Prepare to Sleigh Another Day (how puntastic!) with this gem from @LouiseHudsonAuthor
✦Series: The Nativity, 3 Standalone MF holiday novella, it’s the last of the series. You can enjoy this without reading the previous novellas, but more so with the context.
✦POV: Dual, first-person I like how Louise often mixes POV in a chapter- clearly marked though, so it’s not confusing, I like that we get to see how each MC experiences the scene.
✦Spice: Open door This wasn’t quite as spicy as the previous novellas in the series, but it still has Louise’s creative use of ‘objects’ to deliver steam with great effect. Simon and Laurie have immediate chemistry and good banter.
» This was a very easy read; I blew through it in a couple hours. It’s fast paced, the scenes blend into each other well, and it’s funny. A great way to pass a couple hours!
» Simon was a bit of a villain in the previous books, and it was nice to see him get some depth. The focus on his faith sat weirdly with me, though. It’s present only in him saying he has a strong faith, in Laurie’s brothers calling him “church boy” (how did that even become a thing?) and in his sudden insistence to say grace during their only family meal. Just seemed like a bit of a plot hole. He flirts with another woman in front of Laurie as an act, playing ‘Bad Santa’ which I didn’t love.
» As far as meet-cutes go, this was brilliant. She almost runs him over while delivering Christmas trees and then Adam and Gabriel lock him in the back of her van with his dog before she heads back to Scotland: a 300-mile journey she makes without stopping. The premise is gold. 👏
✩ Hoping like heck that while this is the end of The Nativity series, we might get a new series featuring Laurie’s brothers..? Just throwing it out there…👀🙏
♡ This is great for fans of spicy, small town, grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, holiday novellas!
✨ ARC gratefully received from Louise Hudson in exchange for an honest review.
Sleigh Another Day is a cute Christmas Novella and the second of the Spicy Hallmark style books I've read this festive season. The story follows protagonists Laurie and Simon who are comically thrown together when Simon is locked in the back of Laurie's Scotland bound van. Fate keeps them together as well as a plan to help Laurie and her brothers keep the farm running whilst their dad is in hospital and as with all good hallmark stories our protagonists slowly start to fall for one another.
This was a well written novella with good pacing and a great balance of spicy to story. The characters were well developed and perfectly suited for this style of book and the side characters played their parts well. As a 31 year old I really appreciated there being a main character who was my age and similar in temperament and interests to me and I appreciated how the author didn't make age a "thing" other than the odd mention. The length of the book was perfect and nothing felt like it dragged or was rushed which is often a pitfall of novellas so was very pleased at this.
My only gripe, and this is nit picky, is that if you set characters in a particular area I really feel you must give them the correct accenting and iterations. At no point did I believe any of the characters were Scottish because the dialect was not used in any manner. This is fine if you're going for generic American or generic English, but Scotland has very particular ways of speaking that wasn't reflected. This did not, however, detract heavily from the book at all.
If you want a cozy but medium spiced Christmas romance novella, definitely give this one a try!
Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC of Sleigh Another Day in exchange for an honest review.
Sleigh Another Day delivers exactly what I was hoping for: a cozy holiday romance with heart, humor, and just enough twists to keep things interesting. The story truly gives story — it’s not just vibes and mistletoe. There are meaningful layers, emotional beats, and a few fun plot turns that caught me pleasantly off guard.
Simon and Laurie were a joy to read. Their banter is flirty without feeling forced, and their connection develops in a way that feels genuine and earned. I especially appreciated how their relationship balanced lighthearted moments with deeper conversations, giving the romance real substance.
I’m not a religious reader, so some of those elements initially threw me off. That said, I appreciated that the focus leaned more toward values, community, and personal growth rather than church or religion itself. Once I reframed it that way, it fit the story much more naturally.
Overall, this was a warm, engaging holiday read with emotional depth, charming characters, and a strong romantic core. I’d absolutely recommend it to readers who enjoy festive romances with meaningful themes and character-driven storytelling.
The way this book had me kicking my feet and cackling one second and then swooning the next!!!
Simon really wants to find the right woman to settle down with and start a family but it’s hard to meet new women in his very small village. Laurie has all but given up on love for the same reason! Laurie arrived in Simon’s village to deliver a Christmas tree to the town church and almost runs Simon and his dog down with her van and his dog runs off in the scuffle. While Laurie and two church members unload the tree Simon sets off the find his dog and he finds her in the back of Laurie’s van. In a twist of mischief he gets trapped in the back of Laurie’s van and he ends up 300 miles away from his home back at Laurie’s Christmas tree farm!! Then a blizzard hits and he ends up trapped there!! Simon soon learns that Laurie’s dad is in the hospital and she and her brothers could use help on the farm. They definitely don’t expect sparks to fly!!!
This was such a perfect Christmas novella!! It was a quick read but it was so good!! It was full of funny moments, swoony moments and steamy moments!! Absolutely worth the read!!
**Thank you to the author for the opportunity to ARC read this book.**
You have Simon who loves his dog, his faith, and has tattoos. Then there's Laurie who's obsessed with 90s pop and helps run her family's farm. What's there not to love about them?!?
This is the definition of an epic story to the question.. so tell me how did you two meet? 😂 This was super cute! It is creative, fun, and original! The author did a great job with the banter and internal dialogue. It was hilarious! How they met was just an absolute wreck... But in the best way possible. Their chemistry and connection is strong from the start and it just gets sweeter and spicier from there! I loved how raw it was... Navigating through the whole awkward we don't know each other very well and their thought processes about situations that arose. The entire thing was well balanced and written! It's on the shorter side too so you can easily read this in one sitting ♥️
Tropes to love ✔️Small town ✔️Grumpy/sunshine ✔️Tattooed MMC ✔️Strangers to lovers ✔️Dog dad
Thank you for my ARC! I'm leaving this review voluntarily!
I had the pleasure of receiving this as an e-ARC and will voluntarily be giving my honest review. This is a cute Christmasy Romance with lots of laughs! This was well written it had me from the first page to the last page. Love all the 90’s music vibes!

I love a Christmas novella, and Louise always delivers the perfect mix of laughter, swoon, and festive chaos. When a story begins with an accidental kidnapping, you just know you’re in for something special.
Laurie completely stole my heart. Her 90s boy band obsession had me smiling the whole way through - It absolutely had me listening to my old favourite boy bad songs and just left me with such a lovely nostalgic feeling.
And then there’s Simon, a little lost, a little set in his ways, and absolutely not ready for Laurie’s whirlwind energy. Watching her turn his world upside down and bring a bit of sparkle back into his life was just wonderful.
Warm, funny, and the perfect story to curl up with and get lost in.
Thank you so much the author for allowing me to read this arc. I am so grateful, really excited to see what comes next💕
Laurie loves her family farm almost as much as her ‘90s boyband playlists but when she’s asked to deliver Christmas trees across the country, things take an unexpected turn. Nearly running Simon off the road (and accidentally kidnapping him in her van) definitely wasn’t part of the plan.
What follows is a lighthearted, festive story full of family, laughter, and unexpected connection. Simon was such an interesting character, and I really enjoyed Laurie’s family dynamic and the small-town feel. It’s not a deep story, but that’s what makes it perfect for the busy holiday season something fun and easy to enjoy with a cup of cocoa.
The faith and community aspects were woven in at times that felt a little unexpected, but they added to the charm in their own way. If you’re looking for a low-stress, feel-good Christmas read with cozy vibes and a few laughs, Sleigh Another Day is a great choice!
The third and final instalment of the Nativity Series and it was PERFECT! ❤️ it is a stand alone novel however it does reference characters from the previous two stories.
Simon (and his dog) gets bundled into the back of the Christmas tree delivery truck by Gabriel and Adam while Laurie is delivering the village’s Christmas tree after running him off the road and is then transported hundreds of miles away while Laurie is none the wiser. It’s the start of a ‘will they, won’t they decide to declare their love for each other’ story but it’s also heartwarming, funny and steamy. It also gives an insight into why Simon is the way he is and explains a lot.
Louise has made this story the perfect redemption for him and the ending is just 🥰🥰
I definitely recommend this to any romance lovers ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sleigh Another Day by Louise Hudson is a delightful holiday mystery that blends small-town charm, festive cheer, and just enough suspense to keep the pages turning. I really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere—Hudson paints the setting so clearly that you can almost feel the crunch of snow and smell the spiced cocoa.
The characters are fun and engaging, especially the lead, whose mix of determination and humor makes her easy to root for. The mystery itself is light but entertaining, with a few twists that kept me guessing. There were a couple of slower moments, which is why this lands at four stars instead of five, but overall it’s a warm, enjoyable read perfect for the season.
If you’re looking for a feel-good holiday whodunit that’s sprinkled with festive magic, Sleigh Another Day is worth curling up with.
Sleigh Another Day is a fun, festive cozy mystery that delivers exactly what it promises: holiday vibes, small-town charm, and a satisfying whodunit. The Christmas setting is wonderfully cozy, with plenty of seasonal details that make it easy to curl up and get lost in the story.
The mystery itself is engaging without being overly complicated, and the pacing keeps things moving at a steady, enjoyable clip. The characters are likable and quirky, adding warmth and humor to the story, even when things take a darker turn. While a few plot points are fairly predictable, the overall journey is entertaining and comforting—perfect for a winter read.
If you’re in the mood for a light, festive mystery with plenty of charm and cheer, Sleigh Another Day is a solid pick and a great addition to your holiday reading list.
First of all thank you to Louise Hudson for the ARC of this novella.
It was super cute. I was smiling, laughing out loud and just completely enjoyed this all the way through.
This is a forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine cute story (and the dog...love). I love stories with cute pets though.
The faith aspect fell a little flat for me on this one though. Simon is a tattooed grump, who loves only his dog and his faith. Laurie is an upbeat girly obsessed with her 90's music :) When she runs him off the road, gravel isn't the only thing flying (trigger the sparks).
So cute. Could we possibly have novella for her brothers next time?
Thank you so much to Louise for the ARC - I can't wait for more.
I absolutely loved the writing style in this—so easy to fall into and enjoy. This was such a lovely wee story, and while it definitely leans into insta-love, I was completely here for it.
Laurie and Simon are both in their 30s, both a bit lonely, and both watching life quietly pass them by… until they meet in a far-from-perfect (but very entertaining!) situation. Their chemistry felt sweet and warm, the kind that makes you root for them right from the start.
I also adored the family dynamics—especially the brotherly chaos. There were several moments that genuinely made me laugh. The whole book just had that wonderful feel-good, cosy vibe that sticks with you after reading.
A quick, easy, heartwarming read that left me smiling. ❤️
I loved this instalment of Christmas cheer, lust, banter and love.
Simon has been seen in the previous two nativity series books. He’s always been shot down and the love interest interested in someone else. That is until he gets run off the path/road by 90’s boyband obsessed Laurie. She is a smitten kitten with him.
I loved how Adam and Gabriel played a part in this story too. How they rooted for him to find love.
Simon finds himself locked in the back of her van 300 miles away and helping Laurie and her family on their Christmas tree farm and restarting their family sleigh rides.
Tension runs high and it gets too much for both of them, until Simon asks her to sit on his face.
“Sleigh Another Day” by Louise Hudson is a cute Christmas-themed novella with a little bit of spice for, uh, spice. It’s a quick read because you don’t want to put it down for too long. Laurie and Simon meet accidentally, and both are immediately attracted to each other. That sounds rather basic for a rom-com but there’s so much more in this HEA. They end up playing Santa and Mrs. Claus and giving sleigh rides around Laurie’s Christmas tree farm. Definitely not basic. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and laughed out loud at some of the twists and turns. The conclusion is unique and emotional as it should be.
Sleigh Another Day ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Thank you Louise Hudson for the ARC! I was so happy to read this wonderful story early.
Charming holiday romance novella. Set in Scotland. Lots of funny moments, including accidental kidnapping😂. Laurie runs a Christmas tree farm with her dad and brothers. Simon lives alone in a small village 300 miles away. While exploring their new relationship they help each other heal from past grief that was holding both of them back.
Sleigh Another Day is the third and final novella within The Nativity Series. It can be read as a standalone, but if you prefer to read in order then Away with a Stranger & Gold, Frankincense & Her, are available in Kindle Unlimited.
I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I love holiday novellas. This book was adorable.
I enjoyed reading a book set in Scotland! This had a lot of funny moments, it starts with an accidental kidnapping. I think that was such a brilliant start of a love story 😆🥹 I think Simon and Laurie are adorable!
Christmas tree farm 🎄 Sleigh rides Family business Accidental kidnapping MMC who loves his dog & faith. Who’s suffered such loss. FMC who loves her family & holiday tradition & boy bands!
They both experienced grief and they help each other through the fears of entering a new relationship.
Absolutely adored this novella! ❄️🎄 It’s charming, funny, and just the right amount of spicy. Laurie is a boyband-obsessed farmer who rarely leaves her quiet Scottish town, and Simon is the sweetest lonely villager who never expected to get accidentally kidnapped during a Christmas tree delivery. Their chemistry is instant and adorable, and the holiday hijinks had me smiling the whole time.
From sleigh rides to snowstorms to Simon stepping in as Santa, their story is warm, tender, and full of heart. If you love Christmas romances with humor, coziness, and a little heat, this one will make your season extra bright. ✨
Sleigh Another Day is a delightful little festive escape. The kind of Christmas novella that’s perfect for a cozy afternoon with a blanket and hot chocolate.
Laurie and Simon are warm and likable, with just enough quirks to keep things fun. The romance is sweet without being overdone, and the wintry setting is vivid enough to put you right in the middle of a small-town Christmas.
If you’re looking for a short, feel-good holiday read with a dash of humor and a sprinkle of romance, this one absolutely delivers.
A perfect pick for anyone wanting a quick Christmas mood-booster. 🎄✨
When Laurie crashes her car into Simon, then accidentally kidnaps him and his doggo Joy, she couldn’t foresee that it would lead to a life changing experience.
Neither could Simon. All he wants is to play Wise Man Number 2 in the church nativity and not be so lonely at Christmas. Laurie throws a spanner in these plans. But no panic, tomorrow he will just travel the 300 odd miles back home.
Mother Nature has other ideas. Being snowed in scuppers those plans.
The more time they spend together, the more difficult it becomes to say goodbye. When you know you know. But 300 miles is a long way away.
This was a nice read. Funny, lovely pets and side characters. The spicy scenes were ok, and the end cute.
✨ARC Review of Sleigh Another Day by @louisehudsonauthor ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sleigh Another Day is a small town holiday romance featuring Laurie who works on the family farm and Simon who has nothing going on other than playing a wiseman for Christmas. 🎄
A chance meeting leads to the two of them playing Santa 🎅 and Mrs. Claus 🤶. Sparks fly and the chemistry is definitely there, but can they both let go enough to let what is happening blossom into something they both desire?
Let’s not forget about the underrated character in this story, the sleigh 🛷. This book gives you great banter, some zingers, and 🌶️🌶️. If you are looking for a book that will give you some holiday fun, this is the book.
Oh I loved this 🥹 it was adorable, a perfect cosy Christmas novella.
I loved both of the main characters. I mean, Simon is hot, a dog dad and has tattoos, what is there not to love 😂 Laurie was great too with her love of boy bands and the way she looks after all of her brothers on the Christmas tree farm.
This is full of banter, I actually laughed out loud, with plenty of chemistry and spice. Really bittersweet that this is the end of the series but keeping my fingers crossed for a connected series 👀
Thank you Louise for allowing me the opportunity to ARC read.
Sleigh Another Day involves one lonely villager, one boyband obsessed farmer and one epically accidental kidnapping and I’m not going to lie.. I inhaled it like a freshly baked Christmas cookie!
It had sugar. It had spice. It had a sleigh. It was Hart of Dixie meets Scotland meets Christmas and I love, love, loved it.
If you’re a fan of:
🎄Small town 🛷Grumpy x sunshine 🎄Tattooed MMC 🛷Only one sleigh (resourceful 😉) 🎄Strangers to lovers
Then Sleigh Another Day is definitely a book for you.
Adored this book! Simon and Laurie’s meet cute is hilarious and the accidental kidnapping? Genius! It was time for a change for Simon, he knew it, the nativity knew it, his friends Gabriel and Adam knew it and Joy absolutely knew it! He was perfect for Laurie, good solid support is exactly what she needed around the farm. Low on drama, high in spice… that pharmacy scene had me laughing out loud! The prefect holiday novella that brings us back to Christmas Common!
