Harold Walker, a nerdy, 30-year old investment banker, still lives with his widowed mother in New York's Upper East Side. His desire for a new life is so powerful that his sleep is invaded by a recurring vision of him rescuing a mysteriously veiled bride who calls his name. Even though a dream, he knows this woman is real and waits for the day when fate will reveal her identity.

One night while riding the subway home, Harold is awakened to see a lovely girl in a wedding gown and veil bolt from the train after having been dumped at the altar. Determined to win her heart, he transforms himself into a handsome investigative reporter and gains her affections. But eventually the lie is revealed, and the true Harold is unmasked.

For the first time in his life, Harold is forced to face the truth about himself or risk losing the woman he loves. He finally breaks free form his mother's clutches and goes on a wild adventure that transforms him into the knight in shining armor of his dreams.
