How to Catch a Horse: An evolutionary look at the animals who built our world & stole our hearts

Rate this book
Don’t be fooled by the title. This is not a training guide offering fool-proof techniques or a crash course in horse whispering. It’s way better than that.

How to Catch a Horse stands on the precipice of a new era in horsemanship. With humor, science, and unflinching honesty, it challenges everything you thought you knew about horses—and yourself.

It takes you beyond the surface of training and into the raw, unfiltered reality of how horses move through the world, the motivation behind their behaviors, and what they really need from us. Are you ready for an Evolution?

This is a must read book for anyone who wants to work with or connect with horses in the 21st century. We're at a place when we know so much more about how horses experience the world and when so many of us want to have true connection and non-coercive relationships with horses. This book is not only a guide to unraveling those complex questions but also provides practical, accessible approaches for applying this to our relationships with horses immediately. I wish I had this book as a new horse person, and it's also helpful for people like me who have had decades with horses. I deeply appreciate the way the author supports the vulnerability and uncertainty inherent in following this path and releases the reader from demands of perfection.

If you are a reader who is offended by the occasional typo of a self-published book, try letting that go in the spirit of love this book is written in. <3 I won't let that stop me from giving a 5 star review.

A lovely book about how to connect with horses. Highly recommend. Also check out her TikToks, they are informative. I’ve been using her methods with my horse and it’s made quite a difference.
