This was a good plot, but it definitely needs some polishing. To me, it was like reading a list at times, for example, something would happen and the character would say, "Then I did this and then I did this." Which became pretty annoying.
Then there was some information I felt could have been taken out, for example, when something happens to Carter, James' mother calls him to tell him, while his dad calls his brother to tell them that the mom called to say the same thing. Also, there's some information we need, like we are told Carter's age, but you aren't told James' age.
Again, this had a great plot and I did enjoy reading it, but it just needs to be polished a bit.

Super cute love story. A little bit of spice. Wish there were more obstacles the couple had to endure. Other than that, super cute! Loved it overall!

I wanted to read this book because of the tropes. But this is one book I should have DNF'D but I kept on going because I liked the characters and the plot.
What I liked:
Characters
Plot
Short chapters
The little bit of suspense at the end
What I didn't like:
The repetitiveness.
The story reading like an instruction manual.
During text message conversations the author kept switching up the characters of who was saying what.
There was no content warnings for the kidnapping or hate crime that happened to one of the MMCs.
That we got Carter's age but not James age.
What I wish we got more of:
I wish we got more of Carters past.
I wish the relationship between Carter and James didn't feel forced, in a way.
I wish we had gotten James' age.
I wish we had gotten more of James' relationship with Emily (his ex).
I will eventually keep reading this series but for now it's not high on my priority list. I understand this is the authors debut novel and I hope that the rest of the series writing style gets better. And I understand that some mistakes are bound to happen. I hope the author will eventually take the time to go back through this book and re-release it.
Tropes: single dad/nanny, supposed age gap, M/M romance, cowboy romance.

This book could have been an easy 5 stars if editors did their job. My biggest irk is the timeline/ timeframe, James finds out he has a son when the baby is 5 weeks old (at the start of the book) hires, falls into a relationship, "falls into love", Thanksgiving, Carter's ex showing up, Kidnapping, Christmas - and the baby is still only 2 months old, theirs a proposal. I was going to also mention that the author has no concept of what baby's can do at what age because of the things written, i.e. smiling, reaching for things, not wanting to leave the cow (all at 2 months old) but her bio states she has a son so go figure. And some more angst would have been nice. ALSO, "I am excited that soon we will be husband and wife and that we will get to spend the rest of our lives together" How do you use the wrong gender on the fourth sentence into the epilogue. I hope the next book is better.

I went into reading this blind, with no knowledge other than the name of the book. This books is a M/M Romance Trope, Newly Single Dad, Romance between Single dad and Nanny. Along with an age gap between the two MMC’s. It takes you on a journey of James Who finds out he has a son who he didn’t know about. The two main male characters in this book identify as Bi-sexual, and find love together, when Carter Running away from his life to a small town ends up in James hometown.
The storyline of this book is super sweet, almost too sweet for me. I enjoy Banter, with the characters and in this book there is none. I would have like more detail and information on character development than we got in this book. The story line has great bones, and with some more character and world building and maybe some banter or tension this book has great potential.
James is an owner/Operator of his families Ranch along with his Parents and Brother. The close nit family is great especially when James find himself a father of a 5 week old baby and needing to jump into fatherhood. His family has open arms to all the changes and adjustments of daily life as the knew it.
Then Carter is brought into the picture, ending up in a small town after an emotional break from his family and physical trauma at the hands of his bf. He is taken in by this family as he had always been there.
I read this book on KU, and it could use some more editing and grammar as well as punctuation work, but nothing that stops you from reading and understanding the story the author has crafted.

not a huge fan
This is an MM cowboy romance and with some work can possibly be much better . However honestly the tone of the story was very flat . For the majority of the story it felt like I was reading instructions . Instead of the writing flowing between characters smoothly we got a lot of “James said this and did this “ like a step by step tutorial.
Overall the plot had great potential but the style of writing didn’t do it for me . We got a lot of good plot points that felt just glued together to fill gaps leaving me wanting more context . Not my cup of tea unfortunately

This book is beautifully written. I absolutely loved it ❤️ 😍. The fact that Carter reads Misty Walker book's is the greatest thing ever. I love Robertas writing because you feel like you are on the ranch with the guys and you are just going through their days with them....I love that ❤️ 💕 James gets a airport visit from someone that changes his life for ever. Then he meets Carter and he's the greatest guy he's ever met ❤️ Just read it 😁😁 it is MM Romance and has a little spice in it 🌶🌶 or 🌶🌶🌶 I think 🤔

A captivating start to a heartfelt series!
This book swept me away with its rugged charm, slow-burning romance, and beautifully written characters. The setting feels so real you can almost smell the fresh hay and feel the Texas sun. I fell in love with the Sinclair ranch and can’t wait to return for more. Roberta Timmons knows how to hook a reader from page one!

Sweet and spicy story
This is a lovely sorry. The only reason it’s 4 instead of 5 is because I wanted one of the scenes to be shown to me rather than told me. When Roberta writes from the heart, you can feel it and it’s lovely to read. Can’t wait for the next book in the series!

The writing was very rough. It could’ve been a good story but the writing needed some work
It read like:
“I did this..” “then I did this…” “and I did…”

Such a cute cute storyline. Maybe with some more editing this could totally be a reread and rerated book for me. For me as of now, I would rate it a 2⭐️. I wish I could rate it high but I just couldn't.
I went in blindly when reading this. I knew nothing about the story other than it was a cowboy romance.
