Hold please I have to pick up my jaw before I can get into this review!… My brain has spazzed and I feel like I got factory rebooted the ups and downs highs and lows and the emotions I felt while reading this book are unbelievably strong!
After months of MANY and I mean MANY of us waiting for this book so to say I devoured this book in about 3 hours give or take within the day! I literally couldn’t put it down. I think this book has made me the most emotionally attached with the characters. I felt every pang of guilt, every tear, every smile, every fit of laughter. BJ put her SOUL into writing this it just felt and hit different than the other books I’ve read from her she’s one of my FAVORITE authors and to say that feels like I’m cheating on the rest of my babies by her but it’s the truth!

The spice was spicin Man!! The emotional spice the banter and the flat out HAWT scenes every last one of them builds a deeper connection that feels so intimate between the characters and myself. I was drooling, giggling, fearful of her brattiness, Azrael this dark devil himself kinda guy and his counter part Hevan you just know that those two HAVE to be together, the light and the dark both need the other to be the best of what they are!
The storyline- the DRAMA the plot twists the betrayals, the flat out evil of some people, you can so much as smell and taste everything from this book it’s soo in depth and just so AAAGHHH I can’t even put it into words it’s just amazing and if I could go back and re read this for the first time I’d do some CRAZY things to be able to do so!

The book overall is perfectly balanced you’re not lost in just plot but it’s not through and through smut and even in the smut you’re getting important plot details and little bits for later down into the book, the foreshadowing is amazing but not so much details that’s it’s spoiling anything for you, BUT THE END?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! Nothing I mean NOTHING could have prepared me for that ending! Now I am waiting (not so patiently may I add) for Czars book!!
If you’re contemplating reading anything by BJ Alpha just do it, it will be some of the best reads of your life. If I’m in a slump and need something I know is consistently great BJ is the first section of myself I turn to! Without a doubt always consistently amazing and continues to get better and better!

My brain is completely short-circuiting after finishing this book. I am having a full-blown emotional meltdown and genuinely don’t know how to function right now.
I’ve been waiting months for this release… and asking if it was good feels almost insulting. Good doesn’t even begin to touch what this book did to me. BJ’s writing has reached an entirely new level—deeper, darker, more powerful, and absolutely devastating in the best possible way.
I am not okay. I need time to breathe, cry, stare at the wall, and emotionally recover before I can even attempt a full review—because WOW. Just… WOW. LIKE WTF WTF WTF WOW!!!!
And Nonna… 😭😭😭 my heart is in pieces.

I didn’t just become a fan—I became a die-hard, obsessed fan. Watching her growth as an author has been incredible, and it truly feels special to be along for the ride.
BJ was already an exceptional writer when I first found her, but with every new release she continues to level up in ways that leave me in awe. And Azarael? That book is something entirely different. It’s on a whole new plane. “Amazing” doesn’t even come close to describing it.
This story shattered my heart and then slowly, beautifully pieced it back together. It’s raw, emotional, powerful—just… wow. I finished it and sat there in silence, still feeling everything it put me through.

I honestly can’t recommend this book highly enough. You know when you start a book and you just know it's going to be a doozie ~ I knew straight away.
First few pages in and I was hooked.
Azrael had the perfect mix that kept me gripped throughout. The drama, The $€x. The tension.. The angst. The secrets & suspense. And oh my God, the straight fire that are these two.

There was no easing out of it. No gentle closing of the cover and moving on with my day. Just me, sitting there, emotionally overloaded, trying to remember how breathing works. I waited *so long* for this release, and asking whether it was “good” feels laughably inadequate. That word doesn’t even exist on the same scale as what this story delivers.
BJ Alpha didn’t just raise the bar—she obliterated it. Her writing here is heavier, sharper, more intense, and unapologetically brutal in the most beautiful way. I needed space after finishing. Before reading this make sure to check do your trigger warning before hand! And if you haven’t read Stone yet I suggest you do that before diving into Azreal.
I’m not okay!! How can you be after this ride with such raw emotions, sometimes your heart is so full of love, the next you wan to cry your eyes out, and then it beats so fast with fear and excitement….. she doesn’t draw you into a story she draws you into a different world, a world you can’t escape from even if you wanted to… because YES! She is that good!
When all you know is the darkest darkness you need to find your brightest light in your world, and that’s what happens to Azreal the moment he lays his eyes on Heaven. From the moment their world collides I just felt that they were the perfect match together and while I loved Stones story I loved Azreals so much more.
Azreal is the typical mafia son with cold and with no emotions, dark and powerful and always get his way one way or another.. but is that really all that he is, is it more to the monster he has become? The character development from Azreal was just top notch to me. He looked just liked his father but he was nothing like him, he was more like his mother or his Nona if you look beyond the surface.
Haven suprised me all in good ways, I thought she would be this quiet, scared and shy girl. But she is a fighter.. she constantly fights for her freedom and talks back when she isn’t soupose to, totally bad ass but with a vulnerable side you get to se some glimpses to.

BJ always makes the men that you cannot help but fall in love with. I cannot say that there is a single one of her guys that I don't love in one way or another. They all have different personalities and have different dark past but they all have one thing in common. When they find the one that was meant to be their light in the darkness they fall hard and protect even harder. Azrael is no exception to the rule. She has a fantastic way of developing not only the story but also the characters. You always see the growth and you cannot help but root for them to finally get it right. At the beginning of the story I was a little skeptical of him due to things he was forced to do to be come the man his father wanted him to be. He needed to be ruthless to survive his father. His father is the definition of evil. The way he treated his sons is absolutely attrocious. Heavan is literally his savior. She brings light to his darkness. She is pure an innocent. She makes Azrael want to be a better man. They don't have a typical relationship at first. Azrael has to learn to be a better man because he wants to make her happy but he also has to keep his love and devotion for her secret. They go through a lot of ups and downs but through it all they will rise above it. I will say this the ending was a tear jerker. I was not expecting the big twist at the end of the book. I am so happy it ended the way it did. I cannot wait to see what happens next in Czar's book. It was great to see our guy Owen from the Storm Series in this book. If you are looking for a great mafia romance book full of spice then this is the book for you.

I couldn't put this down.
I never thought anything would top 'Veiled in Hate' - Luca was top of her books since the day I read it .. but my gosh Azrael just knocked him off.
After my prolonged break from mafia romance this superseded all my expectations and then some!
Azrael and haven's story is packed with emotion, I cried! TWICE! Never has Bj made me cry 😆
From the off Azrael drew me in. His life and position in his family is heartwrenching, with the decisions he has to make.
Poor unsuspecting Haven, finds herself in a situation, where she has to choose between becoming Azrael's Toy or somewhere much worse .. neither resulting in freedom.
despite his cruel, emotionless, dominating exterior Haven sees the man he is inside, the man he could be.
But love in the Mafia world is not sweet and tender, it's weakness and with so much at stake, Azrael cannot afford to show any weakness least of all to his father.
The plot is gripping, the spice is off the charts, the chemistry between Azrael and Haven is profound, but the emotions are raw.

I never thought anything would top 'Veiled in Hate' - Luca was top of her books since the day I read it .. but my gosh Azrael just knocked him off.
After my prolonged break from mafia romance this superseded all my expectations and then some!
Azrael and haven's story is packed with emotion, I cried! TWICE! Never has Bj made me cry 😆
From the off Azrael drew me in. His life and position in his family is heartwrenching, with the decisions he has to make.
Poor unsuspecting Haven, finds herself in a situation, where she has to choose between becoming Azrael's Toy or somewhere much worse .. neither resulting in freedom.
despite his cruel, emotionless, dominating exterior Haven sees the man he is inside, the man he could be.
But love in the Mafia world is not sweet and tender, it's weakness and with so much at stake, Azrael cannot afford to show any weakness least of all to his father.
The plot is gripping, the spice is off the charts, the chemistry between Azrael and Haven is profound, but the emotions are raw.

This series is phenomenal, and Stone (the first) was heartstopping and equally, this was amazing. **It is extremely dark and twisted so please read your trigger warnings going in.**
Azrael is the heir to the Carrera Family, and like his name, he has been bought up in a world of pain, darkness and abuse at the hands of his sadistic father. But inside this darkness is a light, a light his beloved Nonna saw in him, even when the unthinkable happened. He might be alot of things, but he believes in consent from the whores/women in general, and does not agree with the human trafficking and the abuse he sees is father and his father right hand man dish out. When it's his time, he wants to change that. What he keeps hidden from his father is who he truly is.
Hevan is thrust into the darkness where she meets Azrael amongst other women, and he sees her, and she him, and she's that light. Escaping the auction she is taken to his mansion where she becomes his 'Little Toy' and holy hell, Azrael is everything you could want in a dark, alpha arsehole which glimmers sporadically only for her. He is not meant to fall in love, he has to protect her. There are so many moments that transpire that for the last 35% I could NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN.
I can't even articulate, apart from the fact I am twisted up in this book, and loved it so much, that this was amazing and I loved it. Of course younger brother Czar is next, and like the excitement for Azrael was real, I am equally for Czar. Loved this.

I’m literally left speechless. I have no words right now. I don’t want to give any spoilers away, so all I can say is Azrael blew me away. To say this was good, or great, or a must read, would be an understatement. From the very first page until the very last I was hooked & the roller coaster of emotions I felt were a wild ride.
There were times I was sad & my heart broke into pieces for Azrael & what he had to do. Other times I was holding my breath & hoping he wasn’t about to do what I was thinking. Then there were moments I felt the tears in my eyes for what Hevan went through. As much as I hated Azrael’s decision to do what he did towards the end to protect her, I understood it, but I wanted to cry for Hevan. And damn did I seriously hate Azrael’s dad & Vector. They both should’ve gotten the cattle prod.

Azrael is the epitome of roller coaster of emotions, it was pure perfection! I had moments where I wanted to throw my kindle away and others where I wanted to hug it while I cried!
I devoured Azrael’s story and you will too!
Azrael Carrera is the son of a Mafia Don that has been raised to be cruel, heartless, powerful and with no emotions. Although there is some light in him, he actively decided to go to the dark side and do as was expected of him, which are all the terrible things out there! Although he looks just like his dad, he is different in so many ways, the most important being, he likes his woman to willingly give themselves to him.
Haven ends up at their trafficking house and is handpicked by the devil himself, Azrael. She thinks he’s saved her from her fate, but did he really?
I honestly came went in with an open mind thinking there had to be more to Azrael than met the eye and boy was I surprised. My heart was instantly shattered, I cried, I got angry, I got happy and I cried again. This book kept me with my heart racing as I read it but it was a very enjoyable experience. Needless to say, I’m ready for Czar’s story. ❤️
As always BJ Alpha’s books are a guarantee to pull any one of a reading slump, so if you are after an intense read this is the book for you!

I finished this book but I have to say that this book finished me! I have to take a breather after reading this book cause I'm a bit emotional from the roller coaster of this book. BJ Alpha, what have you done to me. I love this book with all my heart.
I am addicted to BJ Alpha's book but this book took the number one spot for me. I connected to Azrael and Hevan from the first chapter. Even from the Prologue I was emotional. Azrael backstory really broke my heart. I really feel for Azrael. He is the way he is because of his stupid father. Oh I was so mad and surprise how evil his father was.
I love how possessive and obsessive Azrael was toward Hevan its diabolical. And Hevan was such a sweetheart. Azrael was only soft for Hevan and Hevan was so used to his temper which I find so cute! I really love them together. Oh and the spicy scene? Come on, BJ Alpha delivered those scenes!
Please go read this book once its out, I can guarantee you that you will fall for Azrael as hard as I'm falling for him. And you will also adore Hevan as much as I adore her. Azrael didn’t disappoint. I was completely hooked from the start and nearly finished it in one sitting—I just couldn’t put it down.

I really enjoy B.J. Alpha’s writing style—it’s direct, sharp, and straight to the point. Azrael felt more intense, more emotional, and heavier, deeper than her previous books. It had more depth and vulnerability from both characters, which made Azrael and Hevan’s story heartbreakingly beautiful. It felt different from her other work, and that’s what made it stand out.
The balance between plot and spice was perfect—neither overshadowed the other.

I am a life long BJ Alpha fan! Not only do her stories always have a plot with suspense, but there is also plenty of smut. I will say, though, that this book is much less smutty than her norm but the story was so good! This was the epitome of an MMC you hate to love. Azrael was born into the mafia and has had to endure a brutal upbringing by his evil father. They have their hands in many illegal activities and sex trafficking is one of them. Hevan is a college student who finds herself waking up in an auction house with no idea how she got there. Even though he considers himself shrouded in darkness and no better than the devil, something in her makes him take her for himself.
These two just are meant to be despite their environment. He struggles with being anything but harsh and cruel and she struggles with accepting a man the way he is and despite how he is. I really enjoyed this!
This is very dark and the themes and actions can be triggering.

Azrael-ARC Read
Wow! I don’t know where to start. I knew I was going to be obsessed with Azrael after reading Stone but I was prepared for how much I loved him so quickly. He was the ultimate book boyfriend. Protective. Possessive. Touch her and die vibes. He was misunderstood but so down for her very quickly. The pet name was very enjoyable all throughout.
Haven was submissive but down for Azrael very quickly. I love a FMC that realises very quickly that she is in trouble and that she shouldn’t want him but has to have him anyway.
I went through all the emotions whilst reading this book. The end I really thought was going to be different but I am glad and it really set the next book up.
Again BJ Alpha’s writing is perfection. The book flowed and there was no slow moments. The spice was 5/5. The little cameos of other characters as well is always something I enjoy. I cannot wait for the next book.

I’ve been so excited for Azrael to get his time to shine and my god! I loved him, he is officially one of my favourite BJ Alpha MMCs. I read this in a day and I’d give it so many more stars if I could lol
Azrael Carrera, heir to the Carrera Mafia family, really lives up to his name “devil” he has a reputation to withhold and strikes fear in most people.
He definitely isn’t expecting Hevan to come along and make him actually feel things, things he wasn’t even sure he was capable of feeling anymore.
I don’t want to say too much because of spoilers but this book has everything you need, emotional scenes, heartfelt moments and of course some very spicy scenes. Plus we get some cameos of past characters which I always love.
I’m excited for Czar to get his book next.

He’s been told love is a weakness and can be used against him especially in the Mafia, but falling for Hevan showed him that loves makes you stronger and she’s becomes the best part of him. He knows her life will never be the same again once she has stepped into his world but Hevan is willing to risk it for him.
I absolutely loved Azrael and Hevan’s story the chemistry, his obsession with her, the lengths he takes to protect her. She’s innocent and pure and he is sin. If you love dark mafia romance I highly recommend this book.

What more can I say! BJ Alpha did it again! She wrote another non stop spicy, entertaining on the edge of your chair book! Azreal…..what a poor broken sole. Being bit into a Mafia family is not easy and being an Heir. No longer being a boy who knows what family, love and freedom is his dad raises his boys to be ruthless heartless men. But there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. Bring in Hevan, this poor girl is put where she’s at for the wrong reasons. Scared out of her mind kidnapped and drugged. She wakes up at an auction house. Azreal doesn’t realize it but she is the light to his heart, to break that cold heart, to teach him to love. What more can you ask in one of BJ Alphas books, is for her to bring back anyone from Storm enterprises a the O’connels. I practically screamed at my book when she brought back two of my favorite guys! 💜 I can not wait for Czar’s story!

This is easily one of my favorite BJ Alpha reads. The auction scene at the start sets a dark tone, but the story turns into a deep story of two people who shouldn’t work, but do.
What I loved (No Major Spoilers):
The Dynamic:
Watching Azrael struggle between his "duty" to his family and his undeniable need for Hevan. He tries to be the villain, but she becomes his only weakness.
The Cameos:
My heart was so full when familiar faces from the previous books showed up! It felt like a reward for long-time fans.
The Arc: Hevan’s growth from being "fragile" to being the literal reason for Azrael’s internal change is top-tier character writing.
It’s spicy, it’s emotional, and that ending has me desperate for the next book. 10/10 recommend!

What can I say each new book BJ Alpha writes, just gets better and better! The story was so well developed and the characters were wrote with so much emotion and depth I couldn’t help but love them. Books tend to not make me emotional but boy this book made me shed tears! I wont spoil it and say why but there are a number of places where the emotion was so raw and powerful it got to me. Azrael Carrera may be a devil but I would willingly walk into the fires of hell for him, everyone loves a man who would do anything for you and that's what Azrael grows to be for Hevan.
If you’re looking for a book which will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions and leave you wanting more this is for you!

This is the second book in the Carrera series and like Stone it pulls no punches. Please check your triggers on the authors website - there is a lot) .
No spoilers - This is dark, gritty and challenging at times but BJ has balanced this with the glimpses of emotion that you get as Azrael balances his life and what is expected of him. So no surprise as you go 180 with how you feel about Azrael. The spice is 5 🌶️’s which won’t surprise you.
This story is gripping and I read in 24 hours and I loved the end though would have like more on this. The bonus epilogue was a cracker though and I do look forward to Czars story.
Can be read standalone but interlinked so reading Stone first would be recommended

Azrael the man who is living in so much darkness it was great to see the light never left him, keeping his word to his Nonna, reading his story was tuff at time after seeing what his own father did to him and his brother Czar , I thought the monster only treat Stone like this but know his own sons were treat like pieces of meat to order around and abuse them for own sick ways.🥹
Haven she’s the light he needed watching him struggle with his feeling and navigate them was tough but watching there both worked through it was 💓
I love how BJ can write dark scenes but balance it with just enough light that you are hoked as see we’re the characters end up the heated scenes are hot as ever.
