Magic Reborn finishes up the Warriors of Magic trilogy and is the concluding book of the three trilogies that make up Kennedy’s Bond of Magic Series. The MCs from all nine books have POV chapters in this denouement installment, so I suggest reading the entire series in order. If you’re here, you probably already have.

I’ve LOVED this series! But I’m DISAPPOINTED in the ending.

Everything that was set up, going way back to the first book, Dark Wizard, has led to this moment: uncovering the hidden revelation of why Familiars cannot use magic, and the conspiracy behind their subjugation in the social system of the world building. Yes, this is what we’ve been waiting for! And the ending was… Botched.

It was like the producers of a popular long-running TV show being told that their series is being canceled, so wrap up all the dangling plot lines in the last episode, please.

Back to the book review… The whole Team Phel gang are present and accounted for at the big climax, but then some of the most important resolutions and mystery reveals happen offscreen so Kennedy can focus on the Showdown in the Hallway between Alise and her father, Lord Elal, who finally gets some screen time as the big baddie of the series.

The romance of this concluding trilogy between Alise and Cillian was a fizzle. They were not my favorite pairing, so hanging the series ending around their love affair didn’t work for me. Maybe Kennedy could have written a tenth book that expanded everything that she condensed into the final third of this book?

Anyway, the series’ overarching storyline ends as expected with a few minor unexciting twists. Tie the pretty bow and lets go ice skating with Alise and Cillian.

Everything I needed

This trilogy of trilogies has been an obsession of mine for years. The backstory has gotten a little bit tangled up over the series but this book does an excellent job of providing satisfaction and enough wiggle room to deal with the "but what about...?" Which have accumulated over 8 previous books. The chemistry between couples continues to be top notch. And Jadren is so Jadren and it's great

Alise Elal manages to escape her egocentric father with her beloved, Cillian Harahel’s help. They race to reunite with their friends and family at the academy, so they can unlock the secrets buried within a concealed archive. There are enemies who wish for those secrets to remain locked away and hidden… And allies who want the information exposed. Will Cillian’s library magic help find the key to unlock the cypher on the archives? Will Alise be strong enough to confront her father for good? And will the secrets within the archives change the wizard and familiar dynamic forever?

Alise and Cillian have come into their own. They each have their own strengths, weaknesses, and gifts. Both came into the other’s life when they needed them the most. I like how Cillian knows when to be firm and patient with Alise. He does not let her wallow in self-pity, self-doubt, or guilt. And Alise knows she can depend on Cillian.

MAGIC REBORN is the final book in Jeffe Kennedy’s dark fantasy romance trilogy, WARRIORS OF MAGIC – a continuation of her two series, BONDS OF MAGIC and RENEGADES OF MAGIC. It also completes the entire saga. I strongly recommend reading the prior trilogies before this one. The couples from those books play important roles in this story. There were some parts at the end that felt a tad rushed. Overall, I am happy with the way things have ended. And I’m a little sad to see this series finished.

I am happy that Jadren and Seliah play pivotal parts in this book (Nic and Gabriel do too). Jadren has always been my favorite since his introduction in BONDS OF MAGIC. I love his twisted, snarky, and sardonic personality. And I also like how well Jadren and Cillian get along. They seem the unlikeliest of friends. I will miss Jadren the most.

Unpleasant and Unexpected disrespect

Is always tricky to be respectful. I find it distasteful when people try to covertly or blatantly impose their political views on me. "If everyone has the right to live as they want, everyone who works to take away that right is evil". Powerful words, childlike too, none of us have the right to live as we want, do we have the right to live? Certainly. As we want is a philosophical and unending question which I find is a topic that doesn't concern the material offered, missrepresented perhaps? Are we reading Dark FANTASY or a political and philosophical propaganda disguised as light reading? If the work had less leftist propaganda and had adhere to it original purpose I would have loved this books, as it is I will hesitate to read from this author in future and certainly will abstain from any economical support.

I am enjoying this world of wizards and familiars and the quest of the Phel family to regain their magical status. This particular book was a bit slow and I feel like these three books focusing on Alise and Cillian could have been condensed somewhat.

Must be me, but I found this a little slow with each issue teased out, even when it was obvious. Loved previous books/series so maybe I wasn't in the right mood. Still enjoyed this series very much.

🖤💙 Magic Reborn ARC Review 💙🖤

Thank you so much to Jeffe Kennedy for the opportunity to read and review this book!

Magic Reborn is a fantasy romance and book three in the Warriors of Magic series. As always this will be as spoiler free as possible, so if this review feels a little vague - that’s why. After the events at the end of the first book, Alise is on the run and determined to escape from her father’s pursuit. Can she work with Cillian to save those she cares for most and uncover secrets that could destroy the political system of their world?

I loved this series so much! Alise and Cillian are wonderful characters and I really enjoyed the ending to their journey. This is such a great magical world and I love that it intertwines with other series in the same universe - the Easter Eggs and cameos were so good. The magic system is so unique and I enjoyed the different perspectives of this magic throughout this trilogy

Overall this was a fun five star read!! I really enjoyed these characters and the finale of their story! This book does have some darker elements so please check triggers if you’re sensitive. This book was a bit of a slow burn but had some detailed spice later in the book, so overall two flames for spice

If you’re a fan of fantasy romance with beautiful world building, engaging characters and interesting magical lore, then absolutely pick this series up! As this is a continuation of the story started in the first two books, I absolutely recommend reading them in order.

Not only a satisfying end of Cillian and Alise's trilogy, but the nine-book arc in this Convocation/wizard-familiar world. Fittingly, we had chapters from all three pairs of lovers with point of view handed smoothly back and forth.
