OKAY SO ORC PORKING ROUND 2 WAS MUCH BETTER THAN ROUND 1.

Whilst thin on plot, it was THICCCCCCCCCC for other reasons... 😏

I have never read one of these books where each book is a different author, so I guess after book 1, I set my expectations CRITICALLY LOW for this one, but I was in the mood for some gut-rearranging 'straight' himbo/orc goodness... And I felt this DELIVERED THE GOODS.👏👏👏

I feel even though it's insta-love/fated mates, there was enough sexy push and pull between our MC's in the beginning (one being all "hi your my mate" and the other being all "get away from me with your orc pork sausage, I am straight and won't fall for your orc cock magic") and enough interactions between our MC's to find their fated mate shit more believable or at the bare minimum, it was fun?

Also Mr Orc watching Mr Human just fit seamlessly into his village life was wholesome as hell.

Again, plot is THIN... So be prepared for that...

And just have a jolly old time with these two idiots.

I will add, I think it's fucking ridic that we got NO REAL plot-progression and that the Rainn/Kai reunion that we all came for, is APPARENTLY in a link at the end.... THAT I AIN'T FUCKING CLICKING. I liked this one more than the first one! (Different authors) Nash and Kai were unff steamy. Text book "stiff for size diff" romance. (ty Chelsea for that term!)

Just like the first book, this is a quick, spicy and fluffy read that is quite enjoyable. You get the orky-porky, some violence, and fated mates goodness in one easy to read package. Also the chibi artwork the author posts on IG? Adorable.

My big issues with this book? We don't get to see Kai and Rainn meet up at the end of the book?! I HAVE TO SUB TO YOUR NEWSLETTER!? You gotta be kiddddingggggg!! Not cool, man.

This is my honest and voluntary review.

Fated mates for the win! I love this lighter, fluffier writing by Lee McCormick. Kai enters a portal after going off to search for his friend, Rainn. He stumbles across the Orc Lord, Nash, and learns that there’s a specific set of rules that can keep him from returning to the human world. Even though Kai is a bit resistant at first, (because he considers himself straight), it’s amazing when he gives into the idea of fated mates.

After the initial push and pull, it is really satisfying to see Nash and Kai know in their bones that they are meant for one another. Their connection is strong, even when Kai doesn’t understand it. It’s off the charts once Nash and Kai mate. I am digging this pairing and this book in the multi-author series, Orc Mate Selection. I definitely want to read the other books in the series now!

The insta love/ insta lust in this story is appealing. I was here for the primal play, breeding kink, and knotting! I also appreciate the ties to magic in this story. This is a well-written and engaging read that will make you simultaneously smile and blush. Check it out!

Gah… where to start with this review…
Obviously you can tell by my rating that I absolutely loved it.
I did the audio version, and the narrator blew my mind! He nailed the characters in my opinion, and I was very invested from the start.

Kai is just the perfect cinnamon bun, I love him. He’s curious, fierce, sweet and funny! His inner train of thoughts had me laughing so many times. But he’s got layers, and can be productive and sensitive as well. He’ll be a forever favourite for me.

Nash is the Orc in the story, and I totally understand Kai and not being able to resist him 😏🫦
He’s possessive as f! But patient enough to let Kai figure out stuff on his own. He’s just so freaking hot! I mean… the mouth on this Orc Lord? Pantymelting!!!

The storyline and plot held my attention as well, and the pacing. I need more orc stories in my life!!!

I liked Axum in R.S McKenzie’s book but I love Nash there is just something about him. I don’t know if it’s his protectiveness or what but I loved him and Kai.

4.5 stars. I was immediately drawn into this story. Nash has looked for his mate for years and Kai's protests weren't going to make him give up on their bond. Kai may have been straight before but try as he did, denying their bond was harder by the second! I liked that Kai wasn't a pushover and was a unique and likeable character. I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a reunion between Rainn and Kai but maybe I'll get to read a bonus scene sometime!

I don’t usually like the Fated Mates trope. Far too often I see it in “these two characters actually hate each other, even if they’ve never met, and also they’re dating Other People! They have Zero charisma or desire for each other but! They’re Fated To Be Together and no matter how hard they Loath one another, They Will Be Together, They Match.”
Kai and Nash match not Despite their feelings for one another, but rather because of it. Nash has been waiting his whole life for his Fated Mate, endured teasing from his siblings for it, even, but has not given up. Kai’s from a world where Fated Mates aren’t a known thing, but he’s Still very much got the hots for Large and Green, and thinks Nash is way attractive right from the get-go. Nash actively keeps the whole Fated thing as lowdown as it can be to not scare his partner! (Nash tries really hard in general not to be scary. Props to him.)
A lot of books in this trope do sexual harassment to push the envelope. Nash actively refuses to do anything any more sexual than crashing in the same bed for a long while, and actively hunts for Kai’s enthusiastic consent to taking it up the next step. He lets Kai set the pace of their relationship despite is own aching need otherwise. The only thing his pretty human mate isn’t allowed to do is wander off on his own; there’s predators in the woods.
But Kai isn’t a wilting flower either. The two of them are fate-designed to be a matched set, and Kai’s allowed to figure out where he fits in Nash’s nomadic band on his own. It’s actually way nice to see; Kai doesn’t have much of a life in his native world (our world), but in Nash’s, he actually fits quite perfectly. Granted, being half-married to a chieftain means he gets to take his time and figure out how and where he fits, but none of Nash’s band is trying to tuck him into a suit, tie, and five-foot cubical like our society would be trying to do.
10/10, I’m going to read it again. Now I have to figure out how to get my hands on the other two books…

Claimed by the Orc Lord by Lee McCormick is book two in the multi-author series, Orc Mate Selection. This is a completely different genre than we are used to seeing from this author. I was curious about how the author’s style of writing and someone who is largely known for dark romance with obsessive, possessive, and unhinged men, would translate into this genre/series which is much lighter than we are used to seeing from Lee. They have been an auto-buy author for me since I read their first book, Beyond Time, and they have never let me down since and still holds true with this story.

After Kai’s roommate and best friend, Rainn, doesn’t return from his hiking/camping trip, he sets out to try and find him. Instead, Kai stumbles into this new world and meets his fated mate, Nash. In the human world Kai is completely straight, so why does he feel so drawn to Nash and want him like no straight man does? This is where Kai has his bi-awakening moment, despite trying his his darndest to fight his attraction to Nash. I loved how Kai is a total himbo with golden retriever energy, but also has a fighting spirit and is no push over. Nash loves Kai’s strength and inner fire!

Even though Nash’s brother, Axum (from book 1), has never believed in fated mates, Nash has always been a believer and has been waiting his whole life for his “little mate” to show up ❤️.

This story has it all - It has spice, made me laugh, and has action and heart. For a story that is fairly short is not an easy feat. It was well paced and didn’t feel rushed, had strong character development and balanced plot and spice well. I only wish we could have seen the reunion between Nash and Rainn! I am looking forward to reading book 3 next, Claimed by the Orc Assassin by Jacey Davis.

Here we go y’all. When I tell you Lee nailed it with this book, SHE NAILED IT. She was worried about writing a oh so sweet book that doesn’t have a sweet summer unhinged child, she didn’t need to worry. I ate this book up. Every word and every scene was nothing but 👩🏻‍🍳 💋 for me.

Lee knows how to give us sweet and also unhinged 🤭. I can’t wait to see what other sweet stories she gives us. This book was what I needed at the time I picked it up. From the 🤏🏼 of Himbo that was Kai to the possessive orc Nash. These 2 had a chemistry that I was here for. I didn’t want this book to end that’s for sure.

We have Kai who was so worried about his friend Rainn that he decided to go and find him and hope he was ok. Along the way he came across Nash who right away knew Kai was his fated mate. Kai fought it a while lot but at the end you can’t run from fate. He sure did try though 🤭.

Then we have Nash who had been searching for his fated mate for so long. He just knew he had a fated mate even if everyone around him didn’t believe. He was determined to find him. Let me tell you the meet cute didn’t disappoint 🤭. The level of possessiveness that Nash has over Kai was EVERYTHING.

If you are wanting sweet with some 🥵 scenes along with a possessive Orc who will do anything to keep his mate, THIS IS THE BOOK TO JUMP INTO. Don’t 🚶🏻‍♀️ but 🏃🏻‍♀️ to your kindle and grab this gem ASAP.

I enjoyed this book so much, I adore the setting among the forest and Kai & Nash are stunning together. The push & pull between them, the tension is perfect and they have so much chemistry. I adored their introduction and their dynamic is so much fun once they start to get to know one another.

Kai had me charmed and I loved how he cared for Rainn, still seeking his friend throughout even with the realizations. It was sweet to see himself ettle among the orcs and supporting them with his skills, the building and fixing areas of the camp.

The romance here was great as Kai is reluctant to realise at first, but quickly swept away in the feels and chemistry with Nash. The 'collar', 'Bro', fruit, flowers and their swim together just so easily swept up in these two.

Nash is adoring from start to finish, even if he has to hold onto Kai to get him to see things at times. These two push each other perfectly, so fitting and compliment one another beautifully in their ways.

There is some action scenes and the threat of Koth, alongside those that betrayed Nash. I love that Kai wasn't a damsel in distress, he was able to put up a fight too and help out - the resolution was great. Allowing these two to finally share their love and able to move forward together.

Overall I was entertained and am loving this series more with each book, I'm excited to read the next one. Nash & Kai get their happy ending, with hinted at reunion for Rainn and Kai. I do hope there will be a short at some point or something for that scene though, as still left open with this book.

Claimed by the Orc Lord by Lee McCormick is a fun, spicy, and surprisingly sweet entry in the Orc Mate Selection series—and I adored every second. This is a lighter, fluffier vibe than we usually get from McCormick (known for darker, obsessive love stories), but it still packs heat, heart, and plenty of primal tension.

Kai, a sunshine-y himbo with golden retriever energy, stumbles into a magical portal while searching for his missing friend Rainn—and ends up face to face with Nash, the Orc Lord who’s been waiting for his fated mate. Kai might think he’s straight, but his body and soul have other plans. The bi-awakening is done so well, with just the right mix of confusion, longing, and inevitable surrender.

There’s instant chemistry, plenty of knotting, breeding kink, possessive growling, and all the “mine” energy you could want—but also moments of humour, magic, and surprising emotional depth. Nash is strong but tender, and their connection just clicks. Watching Kai fight his feelings only to fall head over heels? Delicious.

This was my first “monster” peen and orc book. I probably would have never picked it up BUT @authorleemccormick wrote it and they are an instant buy for me, so here we are.

If you are familiar with Lee’s writing you know it tends to be emotionally intense and a bit stabby.

There is a tiny bit of stabby BUT it is mostly sweetness. It’s the desert after a fulfilling meal. A night cap after a long day. A breath of fresh air when you’ve been reading violent mafia books for weeks.

Kai and Nash are wonderful. Kai is clueless but not stupid. The spice is spicing. Nash is patient and considerate.

However, I am even more afraid of deep water than I was before.

What if something is in there that touches me in a spicy way? I just figured someone would try to eat me not that…

The cultural and language issues Kai had with Nash were adorable.

I really enjoyed myself reading this. I smiled a whole lot.

I don't know if I can accurately express just how much fun, how endearing, and how hot this story was but I'll sure try! Nash and Kai are now two of my favorite fantasy/paranormal characters - even though, technically, Kai is a human. The witty banter between them is perfection and the suppressed passion "chef's kiss"! I utterly adore Kai! He's such a sweet himbo, a heart of gold wrapped in muscles, that you just can't help but want to simultaneously pinch his cheeks and smack him up side the head for being so clueless. Thank goodness Nash has the patience of a saint- not to mention, his "little mate" amuses him to no end. That they are perfectly matched is an understatement and I couldn't put this down once I started.
Lee McCormick writes such wonderfully dark, gritty, morally grey characters with true talent that you can't imagine them writing something so fluffy and heartwarming - but they did! And it's even better than I had hoped for! The world building and character development are second to none and there are great secondary characters that make their way in. Add to that a riveting adventure plot and you have a totally winning combination.
Nash and Kai are definitely going on my re-read book list and I can't recommend this book enough. It's fun and campy and hot and just ... Perfect! 10/10*

This book was all sweet and insta lust and insta love. Kai is a human in the normal world, he’s straight. When his best friend and roommate is gone too long in the woods, he goes to his last pinged location, which is a cave, he follows the cave until he comes out the other side, in a whole new world, where there are orcs. He can’t get back to the human world because the only way in the orc world is if your fated mate is there, and then the magic prevents you from returning until you are claimed by said mate. That is when he meets Nash, the orc lord that is a bit of a nomad, leading his men and people, while his brother is the emperor and lives in the city. Kai clings to his straightness and tries to run. But eventually fate just works its magic. The little bit of angst is from Nash’s enemy, Koth, it adds some drama and suspense. And of course Kai wants to find his best friend. Lots of love and steamy scenes and knots and orc appendages. Lots of magic. Well written.

I’m absolutely in love with the Orc Mate Selection Series!

I had never read anything related to orcs before but was curious about it. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to ARC Claimed by the Orc Lord. Nash and Kai were so sweet and HOT!

Talk about finding your HEA when you least expect it and in a completely different world! It’s a good thing Kai has first hand experience with the supernatural world thanks to his writer friend Rainn😅

Though their encounter wasn’t exactly pretty, Nash and Kai connected the minute their eyes met much to Kai’s reluctance. Can’t blame the poor guy when he swore he was straight. Though that orc toy should have been a dead giveaway, lol.

Nash never doubted they were meant to be together and was somewhat patient with Kai. The way he cared for Kai from day one was just so adorable.

I enjoyed their story so much. Lee did a fantastic job continuing this story. Can’t wait to read what happens next.

I love anything Lee writes, and this one was another hit. I was laughing so hard with Nash and Kai. Their banter was pure gold. Kai was great. I loved how he kept getting in trouble for escaping, without even trying 😅

Kai's inner monologue was hilarious 😂 I was honestly hooked with his antics from page 1. He was silly and funny and brave. He tried to resist Nash but he couldn't and it was fantastic.

I loved their chemistry and Nash!!! He was awesome. He was so sweet and attentive and the mouth on that orc! 👌🥵😍

Looking forward to the other books. I wanna know more about these orcs!!

I enjoyed this story as Kai went through the barrier looking for his best friend Rainn and instead found an Orc mate. Lots of push and pull between them as Kai struggled with his change in sexual orientation and his need to find Rainn. Some danger and drama as they were in the middle of searching for rebels. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

LOVED this story! Plus the note at the start about writing fluffy fated mates fluff made me laugh - definitely a different style for Lee but I absolutely loved everything about it.

Kai has realised his friend is missing and goes in search of him - only to also stumble through a portal and meet an orc, his fated mate. Nash know instantly that they are fated but Kai, though he feels ‘something’ is adamant that he is straight (even after an incident with an orc shaped toy..) and takes some convincing. But he feels the pull just like Nash does.

Love how explosive these two are together, such fun characters and Kai figuring out his place in this new world and with Nash is very sweet.
