A biker Vice President. A sweet baker with a secret. And a one night stand that changed everything.
I didn’t know he was the VP of the Serpents of Chaos MC. No one knew I was the club president's daughter. And when the truth comes out, it changes everything. As a club princess, I should have been off limits to the men. But War has already claimed me as his. And now he’s going to have to fight to keep me. After all, all is fair in love and War.
Honestly? Reading this author's MC books is bit like throwing a dice and gambling to see if the odds will be in your favor. This read like a smuty MC soap opera. It's super shallow though. Which is the problem I have with this author. The characters are one dimensional. Super instalove. And it's completely unbelievable for a regular woman to walk into an MC and be just dandy with what she sees. Where's the fun in that? Even though she is the Prez's long lost daughter. The FMCs are always horny and always talking about how hot everyone is. It's boring. I don't like promiscuous FMCs and this author writes a lot of her heriones that way. Or they're spoiled brats. While the h Ora was ok she still annoyed me. War was your usual manhoe who just got out of prison and immediately went after Ora at a club. She thought it was a ONS which I hate. Sorry not a fan of them at all. While War wanted more after having her, but she slipped out in the morning. Fast forward a week and he went through all the club girls and then some. So you know the drill. Mean bitchy club girls vs the ol ladies. Entertaining yes, but very surface level. Next book comes out in June. Don't know how many books this author plans to write for this series, but I'll probably end up reading the next one.

I really enjoyed this book! There was tons of other woman drama and angst. The heroine was definitely not a pushover and I was totally here for it. I'm completely invested in these characters and can't wait to read all of their stories!
Absolutely loved the old school MC vibes with a possessive alpha VP and the sweet baker he becomes obsessed with after one night together. Add in a dash of angst, great chemistry and a cast of characters I definitely need stories for and I was a very happy reader. Definitely recommend.

A huge thank you to Chantal Fernando for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!
War is the explosive first book in the Serpents of Chaos series, and in true Chantal Fernando fashion, it delivers a gripping story, irresistibly dark and romantic main characters, and a cast of side characters you can’t help but love.
When Ora decides to throw caution to the wind for a one-night stand, she never expects it to turn her entire world upside down. War, the VP of the Serpents of Chaos, is a man with plenty of secrets—and the last thing he anticipates is meeting the woman who will change his life. But Ora has her own hidden truths, ones that won’t just alter War’s life but will shake the very foundation of the Serpents themselves.
This book is action-packed, filled with spice, and loaded with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. If you love morally gray bikers, high-stakes romance, and found family dynamics, War is a must-read!
Bikers? ✅ Forbidden love? ✅ Hot possessive biker who falls hard??? ✅✅✅✅✅
I had so much fun reading this book! Thank you Chantal Fernando for giving me an Arc! This book had it all! Action/humor/spice/ and an HEA! I was entertained the whole time. Cannot wait to see what happens next for the next characters!
I like this new series and I am a sucker for a Chantal Fernando book but… this felt a bit samey
It was like a cross between Dragon’s Lair & Chase - both good books that I finished but I just think it would be good to have something a bit different
Some examples: Secret wife Other MC members who are just obsessed with FML Slutty male best friend but loves FML (see Arrow and James) Pregnancy really early in relationship
I could mention the way the FML looks the same as in Chase, but honestly this bit I loved - it’s great to see some different representation of women and honestly she sounds 🔥🔥
I just think for a none KU book we deserve some freshness.
But maybe I’m being harsh. The epilogue was good with a sneak at the next book so I’m excited to see where it goes and hopefully get over my Deja-vu

I want to say thank you to Chantal Fernando for the ARC of War!
I first got into Chantal Fernando's books through the Wind Dragons MC and have been reading her other books off and on since finishing that series. I've been loving her fantasy series but it's been great to dive back into her MC books.
War is the first book in her new Serpents of Chaos MC world and in the first few pages it grips you and pulls you in. She delivers a gripping story, irresistibly dark and romantic main characters, and a cast of side characters that have you rooting for them to have more page time.
Ora decides to throw caution to the wind one night and have a one night stand- this ends up turning her life inside out. War- the VP of the Serpents of Chaos MC and a man with plenty of secrets. The last thing he expects after his sister's wedding is to meet the woman who will change his life forever and for the better.
War is a must read as it is action-packed, filled with spice, and loaded with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat. If you love morally gray bikers, high-stakes romance, and found family dynamics.
I devoured this book once I started reading it as I could not get enough. I'm eagerly waiting for her to write more in the series so that I can devour those books too!
As with all of this author's books, you can always count on being fully engaged and entertained. A HOTT MC and a strong FMC weather the chaos and peril of building a relationship amidst an MC life. This SPICY MC romance has it all, suspense, found family, and BEST OF ALL, a Winddragons crossover! If you haven't read this authors books, start NOW. She doesn't dissappoint!
I did my due diligence. I suspended as much disbelief as possible to read the story from beginning to end with minimal judgement. As it stands, the verdict remains: Not the worst out there, but also not good. The characters were naive and goofy, and not in the way that comes off as endearing and cute. No, the type of goofy and naivety involved in this story’s characters are quite irritating.
I’m no stranger to MC romance, so I get the deal with the Mt. Kilimanjaro level of body counts for these so-called “heroes.” It’s just that in a story where you’re trying to sell romance and chemistry, constantly reminding the reader of the hero’s promiscuity really ruins the illusion of “love.” Maybe a handful of mentions are enough to make that point, and yet, I’d say a good 60 percent of the chapters contained not only our hero’s previous (and very recent) conquests, but also the heroine’s own father as well as the rest of the MC members’. All of whom are probably getting their own stories from the looks of it. Go ahead and talk hero promiscuity, but do so tastefully or risk shattering the illusion the reader needs to believe in.
The baker turned MC caretaker/homemaker heroine is another point of contention. It’s okay to want love, but at the very least have some respect for yourself. Ora was so quick to accept everything thrown at her because she was so desperate to be loved. She was much too quick to apologize for things she shouldn’t be apologizing for and much too quick to forgive the transgressions that would have been deemed as a crossed boundary for many women in the real world. Sure she had moments where she spoke up and *sort of* stood up for herself, but for most of the story she just took everything that was thrown at her. For example, all of War’s clubgirl conquests continued to parade themselves in front of Ora even after disrespecting her. The club prez claims she’s the club princess and yet only give these women warnings allowing them chances to harass her later. Not to mention what he did to try and separate Ora and War.
Overall, this is your run of the mill MC story, but much less polished dialogue and much less complex characters. Not memorable.
War is the first book in the new Serpents of Chaos MC and is a fantastic start to this series❣️
Ora moves to town and starts working with Lu at her bakery. She needed a fresh start. One night she meets a man, with whom she has a one night stand. Only to discover a few weeks later, that he is the VP of the Serpents MC.
So many great new characters, with a cameo from an old favourite as well🙌 Loved it, and I can’t wait to dig my teeth into Haze next. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review😍
Some parts grumpy dude, hot bikers, a chick with backbone and some surprises along the way makes a good book. What kept the book on it toes was the OW drama, the other characters in the background, the clubs drama and the chemistry between the MMC and FMC. 🩷
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review…. I LOVED this book. It had many similarities with Dragon’s Lair from The Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club Series and I adored that. Since that book has thus far been the best I have read, I can’t imagine how much better the rest in the series will be. The main characters Ora and War(Levi) are a weird couple to me. He is a big buff crazy in love with her Alpha-male, while Ora is a plus size baker. I know that might seem like I used not enough words for describing her, but she is a tough FMC for me. I didn’t love her, not because she didn’t deserve to be liked, just that she watched a man for years and didn’t say anything. She was a “meek” character in the beginning and someone “blossomed” into a President’s old lady, at least in attitude. I LOVED WAR though. He was the quintessential alpha-hole who wasn’t going to listen to anyone except Ora. *Swoon.* The Thing I liked most about the book was the camo of Tracker and his Lady! OMG, BEST PART BY FAR! The one thing I didn’t like, may possibly just be a personal disagreement, but for some reason, “Good Girl” was used in a “bedroom setting” and for some reason, this particular instance made me think about how an alpha female would act in the setting of being given this particular praise. Then it made me think in the presence of an alpha male given the exact same phrasing to him, how would he act? I believe a H would say to his h that he was ALL MAN and no good boy phrase would ever be used again. So why couldn’t there be a female out there that would say the same in regard to her???? For me, this phrasing made me feel as though women in romance are supposed to be young and obedient, while men can do whatever they want…..no offense, because I LOVE Chantal’s books, but this was a COMPLETE TURNOFF FOR ME. I shut down after this phrasing and had to walk away from the book for a while. While I understand that this is a normal trend going around for authors these days, at least it seems this way to me, I didn’t really feel this way until now. It just seems to take away from the females reading your book. At least for me, I felt called out and like I was in the wrong somehow. Not sure how or why, but I now will be looking to see if this phrasing does it the same way in other books. The only other things I can say about the book are that everyone should go and read it and if you don’t, well you’re the only one missing out. It was a great series starter and I can’t wait to read the next one…..but the one I can’t wait to read the most, if it’s going to become a book, I think is Ghost’s book. He was a surprising character for me that kind took me by surprise on how much I actually kind of liked him by the end……I just hope he’s not too dark of a book! Go read this already…… <3
One never knows what they are going to get when they begin a new series, even one from a favorite author and that is a favorite trope, but I gotta tell you this story is one for I seriously loved. Chantal Fernando has returned to my favorite of her writing styles with this new MC series and the first in the series was filled with twists and turns and plenty of passion and drama that will keep you on your toes. Ora never imagined that that sexy and gorgeous man that blew her mind one crazy night after approaching her at a club and taking her to his hotel room would change her life forever. When she gave herself to the sexy beast that tempted her to be naughty, she could never have guessed that her was the VP of the local MC, the MC that her she happens to be fully aware of because her biological father is the president—even though he has no idea she exists. War saw Ora across the dance floor and couldn’t resist her, but when she was gone the next morning he went crazy looking for her and never imagined he would find her when he and some of his club brothers are escorting a club girl to the local bakery. Now that he has her back in his life and she can’t escape from him again there is no way that he will allow another man to get near her, he’s laid a claim on her and will do whatever it takes to make her his—even when his world is thrown upside down by the truth of her parentage. Can they get past all the secrets of their past and the outside dangers they face in order to have a future together or will they be torn apart before they truly have a chance to have a future together?
War and Ora’s story was fabulous and I loved getting to see these two falling in love. Ora has a lot of pain in her past and even though she has also had a lot of personal and professional happiness. She’s come to her new town looking for something, a connection to her past, but she never imagined that she would meet the man of her dreams and get all wrapped up in the MC life. She is sassy, smart, loving, and sweet and I enjoyed getting to watch her interacting with her friends, War and her father too, but even when she was smarting off to her enemies she never failed to amaze me. War was a bit harder to get to know mainly because he was so contained, but when he opened up and let himself show his soft underbelly, in order to fight for the woman that he loves, we finally see the depths of his soul. His strength, dedication, protectiveness, and loving nature all had a darker edge, but his intelligence and determination made him a perfect match for Ora’s stubbornness. Together their passion soared and I loved seeing how their love developed and grew the more time they were together. I am looking forward to seeing Ora and War in the next story in the series (Haze) and as the series continues to develop because I can see this one become another long running series that will turn readers into loyal followers. Gimme more, Chantal!
Phenomenal start to a whole new MC from the amazing Chantel Fernando -
We have Ora - She moves to town and gets a job with her now bestie Lu who owns a bakery. Ora moved to town as she is searching for her long lost father.. the man she was told didn't want anything to do with her, he also happens to be the President of the Serpents of Chaos MC in town. Ora is a good girl, a good girl who goes out one night to a club with her Bestie.. she decides it's time to let loose and be a Not so good girl for just one night. Ora meets this handsome stranger and decides to take him up on the offer of one night in his hotel room... Only to sneak out the next morning before Mr Sexxxxy wakes up.
War is the VP of the Serpents Of Chaos MC (same MC as her dad) - He has just been released from prison and is set on going to his sisters wedding in town, he decides to get a room so he does not need to drive.. you know cause he doesn't want to give any reason to have to go back to prison.. This is where he meets the most beautiful women he has ever meet.. the first woman since getting released.. he shoots his shot and scores.. only to wake up the next morning alone.
FF a couple weeks.. War walks into the local bakery for some sweet treats, only to come face to face with the woman he can not get out of his head.. the same one who left him in the wee hours of the AM after the most incredible night of his life..
I absolutely loved War and Ora. This story is filled with drama, and angst.. I devoured this book in record time.. and I need more..
Ok so lets talk about the twins Skull & Bones.. O M G!!! I loved them.. and I can't wait for them to each find that one woman that is going to stop them both in there tracks.. and Ghost... was not a fan of him at first but Boy oh Boy.. I can't wait for his book..
What an awesome start to a new MC series by Chantal🥰 I got hooked in this story from the start and did t put it down till I got to the end.
Ora decided to leave the good girl behind one night and she has a one night stand with a sexy hot guy she meets at a club. The next morning she sneaks out and that's that she thought.
Until the hot guy walks into her bakery a few weeks later wearing a MC VP cut. The same club that her stranger father belongs to...
War met Ora the day of his sister's wedding. He spent a hot night with her but then she snuck out and he didn't know where to find her. Until he walks into her bakery. And no matter how much he tells himself it's a bad idea to get involved with her, he can't stay away from her.
And when trouble comes knocking he makes sure that he claimed his woman as his, making sure she will be protected at all times. Not just that but it seems like Ora has secrets of her own she's hiding...
This story was hot and steamy and filled with so much action andThere was some drama added into the mix as well, which added that little extra excitement. I absolutely loved it. War and Ora definitely had some amazing chemistry and their story was HOT.
The world this author built made me want to be a part of this family. I loved the side characters. The twins, Ghost, Haze and Lore... this series is going to be a HIt... I can't wait for the next one 🥰🥰
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Let me start by saying I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
War and Ora are meant for each other. I love their relationship dynamic the way Ora gives in when she needs to but also let’s War know that she is a strong, independent woman who doesn’t need anyone telling her what to do, especially if it has to do with her cooking.
When it comes to the brothers in the MC Chantal makes you love them all even the one you think you will hate.
The relationships Ora developed with the brothers, makes you smile. I love the banter between them and Ora, it had me laughing out loud. Then add her two best friends into the mix even better.
One of my favorite parts is when Chantal brought in characters from the Wind Dragons MC series. I hope she continues to do that with other characters as well.
Overall, this book was great, it had the perfect amount of chaos and anger, sex, and happiness.
As I said in the beginning, I can’t wait for the next book in this series. Well done Chantal!
Loved and Obsessed! War is Book 1 in the Serpents of Chaos MC series and I am already hooked.
War (VP of the Serpents of Chaos MC) and Ora meet randomly one night and have a steamy one night stand. Well.... Until they cross paths again and War decides one night was night enough! The pull he feels is visceral. He both wants and needs her. And.... While she doesn't make it easy for him initially they end up changing each others lives for the better. I freakin loved them for each other. But... Was it all sunshine and rainbows? Nope... It is an MC romance story after all. So..... It's dark and twisted and filled with some steam, drama, action, violence, suspense, a found family and twists and turns.
Holy side characters. I freakin love this MC. The brothers have me invested. The different hilarious and twisted AF personalities have me looking forward to what's to come. Chantal Fernando slipped in a few possible future storylines and I need them all like yesterday.
I absolutely devoured this book and can't wait for more of this series!!
5* read. I absolutely adore this authors work and I've really enjoyed getting back into her MC world. I first got into Chantal Fernando's books through the Wind Dragons MC series. It was the very first MC series I ever read and even now I haven't found an author whose MC books match up to this authors. I'm obsessed with Ora and War, but also with all the other characters around them. You just instantly believe and invest in this authors characters. Their story is of course filled with a whole heap of chemistry, with just the right amount of drama. A rollercoaster of emotions I really enjoyed going on it with them. I love this author and can't wait for the next book (especially after catching a glimpse of the next persons book at the end). I've also been obsessed with her fantasy series so I'm basically excited for whatever book comes next.
WAR is SO GOOD❤️❤️❤️!!! I love the drama, the suspense, and the sexiness. It's captivating! I love all the characters. Every one of these Hot Bikers, The Friends, and ClubWhooo is so intriguing I just couldn't stop reading. Sure, I hated some of them, but they certainly kept me engrossed. I love the dynamic between War and Ora, their chemistry definitely kept things SPICY! Super Hot!!!🔥 🔥 War is a very possessive Alpha, but don't be fooled by sweet Ora she gets just as jealous when others show interest in her Man! Love it when she lets the green monster out!!! Of course, everything is not always perfect. Both Ora and War have huge secrets that they keep from everyone, and when they are revealed. BAM.. MAJOR DRAMA!!! I absolutely love this new series and can't wait for the next one!
Full of plot twists!! Ora is semi new to town when she meets War. She meets him and they instantly have a night together and it’s magical. She assumes he’s from out of town since he’s in a suit and has a hotel room. Little does she know he’s just been released from prison, in a suit while staying at a hotel because his sister got married today and he’s in the local MC. The same MC she has been watching from afar. A few weeks later he enters the bakery where she works with a blond all over him. Yikes!!! Although it’s kinda fun to read about him falling for her and the regrets he has in respect to her. I guess she shouldn’t have left him after their night together… I greatly enjoyed these two! I really hope we see glimpses of them in the next story.
Whenever this author writes a new MC series I absolutely have to read it, she knows this genre and always delivers the goods. Her Alpha Bikers are exactly how I like them, Dirty, Dangerous and Deadly.
War book 1 in the Serpants Of Chaos series was thrilling, it set the scene perfectly for this dangerous new world.
War and Ora's story was a real page turner with plenty of action. Their chemistry was smoking and the smexy times were hotttt!!. I loved all witty banter too. An addictive page turner from start to finish. Loved it.
There are so many fantastic characters to choose from, I'm looking forward to more of the brothers getting their own stories, bring on Haze because that ending, OMFG! 👏
Troupes: accidental pregnancy, possessive biker and sweet baker, one night stand, forbidden love, morally grey MC, found family, touch her and X
Thankyou @chantalfernando for the opportunity to ARC another great book.
War & Ora.
Was short but sweet, I fly through every book I read by Chantal. You won't be disappointed. From MC to dark romantacy to MC again but with some Easter eggs from previous serieses and the mention of Sailor moon!! Absolutely enjoyed it.
If you want to get lost in a world of MC drama then this is the book for you. It all starts with a one night stand. War and Ora meet, have an immediate connection and go there separate ways, neither one knowing the other’s links to the Serpents of Chaos. It turns out Ora is the President’s daughter (not that he knows it), and War is the Club VP. Lots of action, the rival club is out for blood, literally. Great characters, I love me some alpha males (and there are plenty of them), dual POV, lots of sexy time, and a whole host of fun times in and amongst. An entertaining, enjoyable story to get lost in. I received and advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book (given by the author)...
A baker and a biker what an interesting couple; Ora and War did not expect so much to unfold after one night together. Ora may be a baker by trade, but that isn’t only who she is, she is also an MC princess and her one night with War a VP from another MC opens a can of worms neither might be ready for.
I really liked the dynamic of Ora and War, they were both looking for a good time initially and ended up with a deeper connection than either could have imagined. War was not going to give up Ora even after learning the little baker’s secret.
I can’t wait to see what lies ahead for the rest of the members.
I'm sorry but this book reads like a person who's daydreaming. Like everything that happens feels so disconnected. The scenes and how they flow, the relationship between the H and h, the drama, the other characters interaction with the main characters.... It just felt off somehow. Reading this book felt like it was the cliff notes version of some popular MC book. Everything was soo to the point it would give you a whiplash. Beside all this, I still finished the book knowing that the writing does not get better. Surprisingly, in the end, I'm still left with the feeling that I want to read the 2nd book just to know what happens because I'm nosy.
