3.5 Realization stars

After her second trial, Grace realizes that these new experiences at The Dining Club have given her a new outlook on who she is and what she likes sexually. At the same time Amber and Andrew join forces in devising a plan to keep Grace from completing the third trial. Andrew has found himself attracted to Grace, and although he considers David a friend. He doesn't want to live his entire life under the conditions of the club. He want to find a nice girl and settle down. He thinks that could be Grace.

In this installment we get a little of David's POV. The reason he's determined to control how his love grows for Grace and what she will experience. But what he doesn't realize is the manipulation he witnessed of his father at the hands of his mother, which colored his view of love, is the same thing that he's doing to Grace. He's manipulating her into doing and becoming what he wants in order to give her his love.

I'm hoping that Grace, though enjoying this exploration, realizes that what David is doing is manipulative and will take control of her experience and what she's giving him.

Probably the highest rating I've given in this set so far - the full 2 stars, though I can't say it's without caveats.  One reason why I'm giving this novel the full two stars is that (finally) we're getting some character motivation in the series - some of the information in this part could've come much sooner. It didn't need to be delayed because it would've helped to know - for example, what David was thinking more along the lines in terms of his relationship with Grace.  David still shows himself to be shallow and has the attribution of "sex = love", though.  Some of the character motivations were repeated on the part of Amber and Andrew's structuring, but I still liked watching their characters interact and reveal more of their respective sides.

It also occurred to me in this that Andrew *does* like Grace (I know why she likes him, but him to her is harder for me to see).  I like how he respects her boundaries more than David does.  Though I'll admit, i wasn't expecting David to let Grace take charge for once in this part of the story, nor did I expect Grace to actually bargain with her decisions.  That was a better route, but I'm still skeptical about how this will go.

We'll see.  I think it's still difficult for me to say where I fall with this series, but I'm pressing onward.

Overall score: 2/5 stars

Gah! I don't know why I am still reading this series. I seriously think I am just curious and hoping that at some point Grace wises up and leaves David. But we don't get too much in this installment beyond more scheming from Amber.

David and Grace are heading to the Dining Club for the third trial and Amber thinks she might just know how to ensure that this is Grace's last night at the Dining Club. When she discovers that someone else might have something at stake in Grace's failure, Amber thinks she has a fool proof plan to ensure David remains hers.

Another short installment that didn't really offer much more to the story beyond what we already knew was going to happen. But I can honestly say that although these aren't getting any better and I am not finding myself connecting at all to the story, part of me is most likely going to continue just to see it through.

I was hoping that after finishing four of the installments that the story would come together a bit and I could get invested with it, even hating David. But nothing yet. Still just in the middle. I am seriously not used to not liking the hero and that is throwing me off completely.

In this book, Grace finally knows about Amber's real motivation, maybe there's finally hope for her to stop being manipulated and so naive. but I can't seem to connect with it or with the characters but I liked Andrew in this one and find myself hoping he'll end up with her because I still don't like David.

"The Dining Club" make me think of all these little erotica series inspired and published since "Fifty Shades of Grey". It seems like everyone wants to throw an erotica story like those at us, no matter the quality. Don't misunderstand me, I'm not saying that they're all bad because there are plenty of great books but it's exhausting to organize the good and the not so good ones.

Well, in the end I'm not really hooked yet but it's still better than "Crave".

SEDUCE is a follow on from CRAVE. We see Grace and David in the second half of the second month's Dining Club antics and about to get ready for third month of Dining Club. What is Amber and Andrew concocting now for the sweet and innocent Grace. What is David's secret that won't let him love a woman as much as he thinks he loves Grace.

This was a 27 page short book that ended too quickly. It's left me hanging in the air with no knowledge of what will happen to Grace and David. Does Grace actually know David as well as she wants or is this going to be the end of their relationship? Why did David choose Grace to come with him to The Dining Club and is Amber going to get her comeuppance.

All will be revealed in the next installment called TOUCH.

David, David, David *shakes head sadly* You have disappointed me so. Really? At this stage of the game, you come to doubt YOUR ability to continue a relationship with Grace WHEN she succeeds? Pffft. I could smack you just for thinking it! And don't even get me started on that little PR appearance!!!

Then there's Amber and Andrew. Amber is still getting on my nerves and Andrew is itching for a smacking upside the head. The nerve of these two!!! Who, what, why!?!?

Okay, so my ranting is done for now (I think).

One thing you can say about this installment is that it sure got a reaction out of me. It infuriated me to see David doubting HIS ability to commit to Grace WHEN she passes the Dining Club tests (I use the term 'when' because if Grace fails, I will be a very, very, very unhappy reader! Just saying.) Then to have Andrew getting in cahoots with Amber? That just about gave me a coronary! Geez, Amber get your own man and let the woman do her thing. And Andrew? Please, spare me the 'I'm a better man for her' line! Find your own damn woman and be a loyal friend to David.

Moving on. (Apparently my ranting was NOT over)

Anyway, this time around we get to see Grace being more confident in her new-found sexuality. She doesn't get as nervous as in previous installments, but she still worries for her 'relationship' with David. And yes, I used the term 'relationship' loosely, because I am losing faith in David and Grace ever having one. It's ridiculous, that's what it is!

However, I'm still intrigued although I am more annoyed than anything about how things are progressing. I wonder what's in store now that David is having doubts and both Amber and Andrew are determined to sabotage Grace's chances to succeed.

All in all, Seduce was one short, rollercoaster of a ride for me with the usual sensual factor, a bunch of scheming and some surprising new doubts.

I received this title from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange of my honest opinion.

Grace hears the couple from table 3 leave ending their time at The Dining Club and most likely their personal relationship with mixed feelings. One she does not feel so exposed to the excess people, but also with second half approaching she wonders what the woman who quit feared so much that she would give up the man she loved for. She is about to find out when Andrew strips her down and restrains her with the cuffs and chains. All of which she accepts, but balks at the blindfold. The unknown terrifying her if she can not see what is happening.

Will David be able to calm her or will Amber win David after all. I do not think I could go through what Grace does for the man she loves, but I wi tell you I am rooting for Grace over Amber, yet still wondering what she sees in David. Perhaps she should look somewhere else in The Dining Club for someone to love her above his own wants. Can she embrace David's desires for her own. Pick up your copy of Seduced to discover what is happening in the on going journey of sensual discovery Grace is traveling.

A word of warning, if this is the first book in the series you have read you need to start at the beginning with Book 1 Desire, then on to Bound, Book 2, the follow up with Crave - Book 3 before reading Seduced - Book 4. You will not find this to be a stand alone novella at all. As before I recommend you have Touch - The Dining Club Book 5 ready to go due to the fact that Marina Anderson has once again left you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what Grace is going to face next.

You can find this review at My Favorite Things

Seduce by Marina Anderson is the fourth book in the eight part serial "The Dining Club". This book was the same length as the last three, and that was OK this time around. If you remember, I was a little miffed at how short the third book seemed. While book four is also short, I felt I got more meat to my story this time around.

This fourth book will leave you excited, and eagerly anticipating reading about Grace's next trial in Touch

I still absolutely despise Amber, and Andrew will make my hit-list if he really does help her in her maniacal scheme to steal David away from Grace. Grace is getting more comfortable with her sexuality and with the things David is into, she feels he is connecting with her on a much more emotional level when they are there, at the Dining Club. My issue is, they barely seem to see each other outside of the club anymore. Add in the public appearance at a charity event with his PA and I wonder how faithful they have agreed to be with each other and if that has even come up. It would bother the crap out of me, but I'm reading about it, not living it so we're cool!

She's done it again! Marina Anderson brings us the next installment to the DINING CLUB SERIES; SEDUCE Part 4. Netgalley again gifted me with a copy in return for a review. I have to say, my time is not wasted on this series.

In SEDUCE; I really felt like the heart of the story was finally really coming together. We are still following the sexy exploits of Grace and David, but now the secondary characters are finally moving further into the spotlight. Not in a good way, but there they are. You also get a deeper glimpse into both of the main characters; it gives them stronger legs to stand on so to speak.

Grace is faced with wading through her feelings; good, bad and ugly on her own. Who do you turn to when you are in a secretive sexual relationship with a man who holds himself afar until you've passed all his "trials"? What do you do with feelings of jealousy and fear of the unknown; even if it excites you?

David on the other hand is fighting tooth and nail to avoid the truth of his feelings for her. He wants to love her, but only on his terms. Love isn't fair or forgiving so it will be very interesting to see how the alpha in him can/will heel to Grace. I'm infatuated with big, sexy, dominant men who finally realize that surrendering to the right woman is just them dominating in the rest of their lives.

The real beauty and surprise of this installment are the secondary characters. Oh what a web we are weaving! I'm bouncing on the edge of my seat waiting to see what evil plans they unfurl. I don't like people who mess with love, but I do love to see the bad be the best they can be. It only makes their fall all the more sweet to enjoy.

1 1/2 stars.

The fourth novella in the Dining Club series has David questioning if what happens if Grace successfully completes all the trials--will he be able to give her his heart and allow himself to become with her heart? For the record, he's still a douchebag.

I like that Grace stands up for herself a little more this time and explains to him:
"Yes, because I love and trust you. This is totally different."

After the trial, which of course I hated, Grace finds that David went to a charity function with a beautiful woman, which I don't even know what to say about that besides I wish Grace would dump him and go for someone who can really appreciate her.

Like maybe Andrew, who seems to have taken an interest in Grace as well. But we find out in this installment that he's a manipulative bastard, too, so I don't know.

This novella seemed to have more substance to it than the previous three, but still not enough. And there was one tiny hot part:
"Don't you enjoy giving me pleasure, Gracie?" he asked quietly.

"Of course I do!"

"Then show me."

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for these books

Review also published here: http://jj13.booklikes.com/post/593528...

I read these first 5 parts straight after each other and now I'm not sure what happened in what part, so I'm just gonna review them all together...

Grace and David have some wicked chemistry, when they're on the same page and not questioning motives, desires, and the future.

I love how Grace is embracing and exploring this new side of her sexuality, although the setting of The Dining Club is highly controlled and intimidating. But I'm not a fan of how David seems to have become more distant since their first visit to the club.

Even more, I HATE David's double standards! Complaining about how his mother used his father's love for her to control him, stopping him from doing the things he loved & doing what she wanted, a slow manipulation over time. He swears he will never let a woman do that to him. However, David knows exactly how Grace feels about him, and he's using that as a weapon against her, to manipulate & pressure her into completing the challenges at The Dining Club.

Yes, she does end up enjoying the things she experiences, but that doesn't make it ok for David to pull the "if you love me" & "you're doing it for us" bullshit. If it's ok for him, then Grace too has a right to do the same.

Although this isn't completely blowing me away, I still want to finish off the last 3 parts in this series.

In Part four, Grace is in the middle of her second trial. She is struggling to understand the way that David loves and that he will enjoy her being in pain. She doesn’t understand that David is trying to show her the pleasure that one can feel through a little bit of pain. Grace is having a hard time wrapping her head around this as she has seen the other woman in the trial give up the man she loves and leave the Dining Club. David encourages her while Amber is secretly hopeful that Grace is about to end this.

The jealousy is mounting and the love is growing. Grace is getting more and more jealous of Amber thus becoming more and more determined to get through each trial and prove her love for David. Amber in turn is even more determined to get Grace to fail. Andrew’s affections for Grace and need to protect her is strengthening even though he is not fully participating in Grace’s second trial . I can’t wait to see what happens next.

David is FINALLY showing some emotions and we are learning why he is so stand offish and cold at times. I am beginning to believe that he truly loves her but is protecting himself in case she doesn’t succeed through the trials. I’m starting to like him more but think I might be rooting more for Andrew because he seems more willing to accept Grace as she is.

I’m still at a strong 4 star for this series and it’s getting quite interesting. I love the play on various emotions that the author is conveying through all the characters Really liking the writing!

Title: Seduce
Author: Marina Anderson
Publisher/Year: Grand Central Publishing. 9/10/13
Length: 35 Pages
Series: The Dining Club #4

Overview

As Grace delves further into the sensual world of the Dining Club, her passion for the devastatingly handsome David grows stronger by the day. By night, their sexual encounters-and the daring new experiences they've shared-both intimidate and excite her. Though the Dining Club has given her and David the connection they were missing before, she wants David to herself and isn't sure she's brave enough to invite another lover into their bed . . . or is she?

My Thoughts

This 4th novella installment continues the journey that David is taking with Grace and we see that while Grace is stronger than David had hoped, which should please him, that's not necessarily what he's realizing that he wants. Grace goes through yet another trial that takes her deeper in her learning about what pleases her and what pleases David in an environment that's so new to her.

Each time we get another installment, i'm left to wonder if Grace will succeed, if Amber will get in the way, if Andrew will realize what he feels and what he'll do about it and what that all means for David. I know that i can't have high expectations since it's just 30 pages or so, but at least it's nice to see that it's not going to be so cut and dry. (kind of makes me wish that i waited for the whole thing to be available in a combined read)

I got this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review..

This story still continues. it is a great quick read.

i was a little disappointed at this book because it was more plotting the only thing i loved about it was that their is a villain. that makes it more interesting and made me want to keep reading..

Grace is questioning what would you do for the person that you love? Her best friend Fran said that she should not change her ways for another man. Grace then explains how can you say you don't like something if you have never tried it? Grace then knew her answer. She needed the dining club just as much as David needed it.

Grace is livid when she see's David going to a dinner ball with his assistant. She wants to know why that he didn't invite her? She has only seen him twice since the last time they were at the club.

Amber is planing with Andrew to make sure that Grace fails this time. Andrew has grown feelings for Grace and wants her to himself. Amber on the other hand feels threatened by her presence and was David to know that he will never love a girl and should keep things the way they are and not make them complicated.

The story ends when Grace and David make their 3 table appearance at the club... what is in store?

The Dining Club is more than the name implies. It is a place to discover how far you are willing to challenge your sensuality and discover/expand your sexual horizon. This is erotica at its best.

Our story follows Grace as she discovers David, the man she has fallen in love with, cannot commit to his love for her, unless she is able to discover and participate in the kind of lovemaking that makes him complete. The Dining Club provides a series of tests which will expose Grace to BDSM. If she is able to complete the 4 trials involved, David will be able to finally fully commit to her.

The trials, although not extreme, left me wondering how far could someone go to prove love and commitment. Through this serial novel, we come to know our characters in some depth. This serial novel evolves through 8 different insttallments. We ourselves are placed in the trials with Grace, making us wonder how we ourselves would survive each test.

This story is brilliantly written, with full character development and a great plot line. The ending is good but leaves me wondering if the author is considering a spinoff novel or novels. There are characters in this novel I would love to read more about!

Reviewed for Netgalley. The forth book is finally showing a little more eagerness to reveal the nastiness with are Amber and now Andrew for their own reasons. Grace will have to hold her own if she is to complete her trials and have any hope of holding on to David. Please ask yourselves is it worth it? Grace is doing things she never thought about for this man. Opening up a world to herself but also opening herself to people who could probably smash her life into pieces. I will assume that all parties involved at the Dinner Club are STD free also, as their is no mention of condoms or birth control. They all seem like they are having a free for all regardless of consequences. Again not what you would expect at that sort if establishment, but as we are reading an erotic novel we will assume. This does leave you as a reader needing to complete the series to know for sure what happens next but I'm not sure that's as a result of enjoying the story or just because you want Grace to win over Amber, Andrew and most of all David. We will see.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. Part 4 was just as okay as the first three.

Lets start by saying. Amber and Andrew really add extra that I'm not really sure is needed. David is pushing Grace past her limits and she is learning that she is rather enjoying them once she gets past the initial shock and fear.

David is having moments where he realizes he's stayed single and without love because to him women use love to manipulate men into getting whatever they want. However in this case he's coming to realize he's doing the same to Grace. He believes he can only love her if she's okay with his lifestyle. WEll...uhm hello there are other ways to approach this dude. Secondly he's realizing he's manipulating her into something that she isn't. Hes fallen for her already if he wants her to do these trials yet is fighting it constantly.

They are okay reads and I do enjoy them although they aggravate me a bit. I do recommend them!

Part Four:

We begin were we left off in Part Three.

Grace just finished completing the last item on the menu. Originally she was dining with another couple but during the activities she was left alone. The people who were dining with her chose to not continue with the dining club.

Grace learns more about herself in Part Four. This scares her. Because choosing to stay at the dining club with her love, David, means that there is no way back.

David is in love with Grace and is tired of being alone. He wants someone to share his life with but within in this thought he know that he will tire of his love with Grace, as he has in the past with others. He wants one women who can be his everything. And when he meet Grace he saw that she could be that person.

David and Grace are fighting to be with one another. David needs Grace to complete all the dinners. He needs her in his life.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in place of an honest review.

In this book it looks like Amber and Alexander is joining ranks to break up Grace and David. Amber wants David and is afraid that she might lose her place at the Dining Club. Alexander is falling for Grace and knows that she is with David but he can't help his feelings. I hate to see what happens with these two together.

Grace seems to be doing good at each test she is given. David seems to be backing up some. He loves Grace but isn't sure he really wants her to pass.

This book is a little emotional. I want Grace to win but what is going to happen with her relationship? This is getting more and more intense. The author stops the story at the right time to make you want to read the next book. I don't know how many books there is but I have to read them all.

Grace is struggling with her feeling after two visits to The Dining Club. She knows it is wrong and she shouldn't be enjoying her time there but she is, she cant stop thinking about what they do to her body while she is there and when she thinks about it she gets more excited about what happened there! She tries to talk to her friend about it but finds that she cant without giving away the secrets that she needs to keep to herself!
Amber has realised that Andrew has feeling for Grace and they come up with a cunning plan to try and get what they both want...will it work? The feelings between Grace and David are becoming very real no matter how much that confuses David.

I am looking forward to the next part to see what the hell is with table 5 and to see if David will ever admit his feelings.

SEDUCE (The dining club part 4)

By Marina Anderson

This is book 4 in the series and continues on from book 3, Grace is going through the task for table 2 and she must complete the task if she wants to continue her relationship with David. The Dining room is an erotic club that the females must eat at every month starting from table 1 through to 5 for Desert they must complete a sexual test to move onto the next table the following month.

I am still loving these books and I am growing to like Andrew rather than David, Grace is doing very well with all that is going on and Amber is still feeling threatened.

Very well written and still with lots of hot sexual situations and I am going straight onto the next one.

As Grace prepares for the third trial, she becomes more introspective, focusing on her own feelings as opposed to just pleasing David. He, on the other hand, is grappling with the realization that he loves Grace. Now what?

Amber and Andrew's roles may create a wedge in the whole mix. My money's on Grace as she knows what Amber's true motives are and is prepared for this schemer. Andrew cares about her too much to see her harmed and David is his friend.

The tables are turning here...I think! In any event, this story just got more intriguing. I'm going to wait for the sixth book before I read the next one because I have a feeling I won't be able to tolerate that cliffhanger.

2 out of 5 for this reader folks!

DAVID makes me so angry and I hope that Grace passes all these trials and then tells him to stick it where the sun doesn't shine! Then I hope Grace goes and has naughty sex with a naughty guy who doesn't treat her as a throw away, but savours the gift SHE GIVES HIM when she submits!

HOT SEX .. YES
INSECURITY .... YES
ASSHOLE and ABUSIVE JERK .... YES
KICK ASS VILLIANS .... YES

I love the smut, but it's the promise of something explosive that make the smut HOT and BELIEVABLE and ENJOYABLE!

SIGH .. I really want to love this series ... I am struggling!

This was an ARC given to me by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

In this installment I still am a little disappointing that I don't see Davids character branching out any more than it has in the last three books. His whole ideal that sex is the key to everything irks me. The fact that he is still having trouble accepting she could go all the way irks me. He just irks me. I understand he doesn't want to be manipulated by a woman but he can't do the same in return and expect it to be Okay. Sorry my review is short but with a short read, you can't say much without giving it all away.

This is the fourth book in the Dining Club series, and it is necessary to read the other three in order to fully appreciate book 4. During this third test, we see even David questioning whether or not he wants Grace to succeed. Of course his reasons are totally separate from Amber's reasons. Now we also see that Andrew may not want to see Grace succeed either. Poor Grace, everyone is against her for their own selfish reasons. Once again my only real complaint is the length of the novella, but you are immediately sucked into the action and want to know what's next. Fortunately I was able to read the first 5 right after another without waiting.

I received a copy of Seduce courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for a review

In Seduce, Grace is deciding that she might not be as opposed to the whole scene as she first thought. I'm glad we finally know why David is such a dick, but he has some serious mommy issues, and seems to be taking them out on Grace. Wishy washy much? How he can't see thru Amber is baffling my mind, but it seems there is a huge communication problem between Grace and David. Pretty sure I wouldn't be okay with the PA attending a function that's so public, when the arm candy should be the GIRLFRIEND! But Grace is developing a bit of a spine at this point

I can't read until all out hate waiting
Ok so I am not a huge fan of novellas. I ended my affair with Beth Kerry and H.M. Ward due to cliffhangers. So I decided to collect this series before I gave it a go and read. Wow I loved it! Now I am dying for caress I hope Grace ends up with Andrew. It drove me crazy that David manipulated Grace into believing he would give her a happy ending if she completed these trials. Then to second guess? I am a fan of sexual self discovery but this guy is cunning. Let him stay with amber and give Grace and Andrew their HEA ..
