So we are no approaching the last trial before the table 5 option opens. Andrew exposes his hand and David is still unsure if success is what he desires of Grace this weekend.

The issues with the exclamation points are still present, this is an issue that bugs me more than spelling errors since my mind can easily over look those. But with an exclamation point at the end of a majority of the dialogue it really messes up the flow of reading. Hard to focus when half of what is being said is being shouted in your head.

Still David is not anywhere close to being a likable character and unfortunately unless Grace walks away from him she is a complete mess of a woman. I think I could somehow come to terms with David if there was a glimmer of something, but he is a bit of a sadist and his fear of love is left limp since you have no back story as to why he is not able to commit.

3 Stalling stars

David is conflicted about wanted Grace to finish the tests. Grace knows what David is up to because of what Andrew told her. David still needs to decide if he wants Grace to succeed and now that the fourth test has begun, he brings up the fifth test. Still not telling her what that means.

Again, I feel like this is being drug out a little too much. I'm not sure if it's because I'm reading the series back to back. Shouldn't it get more interesting, but it just feels long at this point.

On the the next to the last....

still not completely sold on this story. David finally admitted he loved Grace, even though he couldn't say it in a broader sense than right now. Grace pulled out all the stops and found her true calling - running The Dining Club.

my biggest problem with this series, other than it being too short, is the end... you can't tell us Amber & Lucien are up to no good then just go "THE END". I need to know more now, or I simply would have been happy with the plans David & Grace were making, with no further mention of Amber.

an ok little read, but nothing to race out for...

1/2 star.

The novella starts off with Andrew letting Grace know what he wants her to hear. Grace questions him as to his reasoning for coming to warn her:
"Because I care for you and don't want to see you hurt by him. Believe me he will hurt you eventually. He doesn't know the meaning of love."

"And you don't seem to know the meaning of loyalty," she pointed out.

Score one for Grace. Fucking finally. Then she says stuff like this, and I'm ready to smack her again:
"David's very complex, and I don't pretend to understand him all the time, but I love him and I want him to love me too. The Dining Club is my only chance of making that happen. He's made that very clear."

Despite Grace and Andrew's very enlightening conversation, this was definitely my least favorite of the novellas. Some really gross stuff happens here, and we get to see even more of David's manipulative bastard side. Does he have any other sides? Oh yeah, the douchebag side.
"Just remember, if you succeed this weekend I'll be happier than I've ever been in my life before. That's all you need to think about over the next two days."

We also get a little more of Fran's sparkling personality.
Is it some kind of posh gym that you have to be invited to join? If so, and if it's expensive, you're being robbed because you don't look any different from the days when your idea of exercise was stumbling to the tube station early in the morning!"

She also asks--yet again--how David is in bed, and outright tells Grace that she'd "have him" if Grace didn't want him. Yes, after she's gone on and on about how much of a ladies' man he is and how he can never commit to Grace for real. I might hate Fran the most of all the other characters, which is really saying something.

Caress ends on a cliffie, but with a more-determined-than-ever Grace. Thank rob it's almost over.

Grace passed the last trial barely and with a little help from David after Amber and Andrew sabotaged her. She wants to talk to David about his attitude, but after his help and the closeness they shared she does not want to know the answers. Amber and Andrew continue to plot Graces downfall. Andrew comes on too strong when trying to explain some things about the next trial and David's actions, but when he tells Grace he is interested in her she puts his words down to jealousy and doesn't believe him.

Grace needs to decide if she believes Andrew's warnings or to believe in David and her love for him. Caress - The Dining Club Book 6 is a short Novella, but you will not be able to put it down. Who you want to root for is getting harder to decide for. To be honest I am beginning to think Amber and David deserve one another because David reminds me of a spoiled child who isn't sure what he wants. Making everyone miserable because he can not have everything for himself. This is a series that must be read in order for the reader to be able to follow the story line. Don't worry the books are steamy and intriguing and will keep you wondering what could possibly happen next.

Will Amber win David or will David realize finally that he loves and needs Grace as much as she does him? Can Andrew convince Grace to walk away from David and accept him instead? Can Grace make it past the next trial and does David want her to? So many questions still to be answered. Pick up a copy today and if you are wise you will go ahead and get Submit - The Dining Club Book 7 now so you will be ready for Marina Anderson's next on the edge of your seat ending.

Title: Caress
Author: Marina Anderson

Series: The Dining Club #6

Overview

Part Six: Caress

Grace is starting to question her place in her breathtaking lover David's life. While her erotic challenges at the Dining Club have brought her and David closer together, lately his heated commands feel cold and distant, making her fear she'll lose her membership to the Club, as well as David's attentions.

Luckily for Grace, handsome Club member Andrew reveals a few details that will help her succeed in the next sexual challenge. Unfortunately, he also reveals information about David that makes her question everything she's ever thought about him-and herself. After learning David's secret, does Grace have a chance at a future with him?

My Thoughts

While the story should ultimately be getting more complex the deeper we get into the trials, i feel like things are beginning to become more expected. i'm still wondering if i'd have different feelings if i read this all as 1 book vs. chapters each week. oh well. anyway, we continue on towards the 4th trial this week - where Grace is really getting anxious because she knows that she's nearing the end of things at the Dining Club. this means that things will either get much harder and she'll have to push herself or she'll have to decide that she wants to walk away from David.

Andrew continues to pursue her in a way that's even more than the physical stuff in the trials which adds a bit more complexity, but we see that it's not the main focus here which is nice. no need for a love triangle here especially since we have Amber/David/Grace already.

So the story continues - same old same old. i'm glad that we get to see Grace taking risks, i feel like they could be hotter at this stage in the story though.

I got this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review..

another great short story leaving off when one begin..

Grace is on her last table tonight. She is excited because she and David are getting closer and closer with their relationship. David is stuck because he loves Grace, but is weighing is options because he knows he will get bored of her and why cause her the heartbreak. David realizes that amber and Andrew are plotting against Grace and that makes him nervous because if she passes tonight she will have a chance at 5th table and take over the dining club. He knows that amber and him have a good thing going on for over 10 years and he doesn't know if he is ready for a change. it is time for him to think if grace is going to pass this test today or not..

meanwhile Andrew takes it upon himself to see Grace before it was time to go the the dining club. he went to the play that he knew she was going to find out what she likes so he can seduce her. Andrew ended up in Grace's house only to tell her that David was plotting against her and that he has strong feelings for her. grace knew what he was up to and called him out for almost failing for last test. She was mad at him and kicked him out of the house. the only good news that she got out of him was how David purposely made his last girlfriend fail and that this last test goes the whole weekend. Grace is made that David did not tell her that. She is determined to pass this test. she needs David.

Graces test was a hard one. She has to please the twin in less than a half hour. She knows this is hard. When she notices that amber, Andrew, and David want her to fail she remembers the tricks that they like from previous test to get her a one up on the game. now that she only has one test to go she is wondering why David is trying so hard to make her fail. what else could go wrong!

CARESS (Part 6)

The plot continues to roil and boil in part 6 of the DINING CLUB SERIES. With the members of the club circling Grace is beginning to feel the pressure. The feelings of insecurity and doubt are growing within Grace and she has no one to share them with. In this entry of the series we really begin to see and feel the turmoil within Grace. Within this highly erotic and vividly sensual series it has been quite easy to lose touch with the individuals, as the series grows to its close we are in touch with them.

The gift of touch seems harmless enough, but anything and everything can be too good of a thing. It's a lesson well learned at the Dining Club, a lesson deliciously served and enjoyed. In CARESS, the next trial in Grace's future is looming and not everyone is excited by the prospect of her passing another level. But, what's the expression...a wolf in sheep's clothing? The wolf in question is none other than Andrew. I have to admit that I've had mixed feelings about the "staff" of the Dining Club, but this entry really grated my nerves.

Things are not all what they seem and everyone is not the happy, sexy family they have portrayed up to this point. I love the drama and conflict, but I really dislike certain hostesses at this club! These people are all too sexed up if you ask me. You would think that being that satisfied would make them happier. This is a turning point in Grace's journey and she clearly chooses her path regardless of the consequences. It is a delicious read and I'm anxious for the next "meal"!

You can find this review at My Favorite Things

Caress by Marina Anderson, the sixth book in The Dining Club series, picks up where Touch left off in Grace's apartment with Andrew about to spill the beans about the next challenge.

Will his and Amber's subterfuge manage to drive a wedge between Grace and David or will it just push them closer together.

The fourth trial is about to begin and Andrew has told Grace that it's a weekend long challenge. The big question is, will David tell her ahead of time or just leave her to discover it on the day of the challenge.

What does Amber have planned for Grace? Will it be enough to force Grace to quit the challenge and leave the Dining Club forever? Will David continue to sabotage his and Grace's happiness out of fear for the future or will he step up and be the Yin to Grace's Yang.

The Dining Club is more than the name implies. It is a place to discover how far you are willing to challenge your sensuality and discover/expand your sexual horizon. This is erotica at its best.

Our story follows Grace as she discovers David, the man she has fallen in love with, cannot commit to his love for her, unless she is able to discover and participate in the kind of lovemaking that makes him complete. The Dining Club provides a series of tests which will expose Grace to BDSM. If she is able to complete the 4 trials involved, David will be able to finally fully commit to her.

The trials, although not extreme, left me wondering how far could someone go to prove love and commitment. Through this serial novel, we come to know our characters in some depth. This serial novel evolves through 8 different insttallments. We ourselves are placed in the trials with Grace, making us wonder how we ourselves would survive each test.

This story is brilliantly written, with full character development and a great plot line. The ending is good but leaves me wondering if the author is considering a spinoff novel or novels. There are characters in this novel I would love to read more about!

On this installment we get to see Andrew making his move on Grace. He wants Grace to start doubting David's intentions during and after her trial, especially now that she's so close to finishing it.

Grace doesn't waver in her resolve to in doing this for her and David's relationship. She has invested a lot of herself into the trials and is not willing to throw it all away on what Andrew tells her. Doesn't mean that she doesn't question why she had to go ahead and fall in love with someone the likes of David though.

She steels her nerves and goes ahead with the next test. Taking some by surprise and gaining some confidence in the process. On unfamiliar ground, Grace found her footing and now is more than determined to see this trial until its end.

I can't wait to see what's in store for her in the second half of this two-part challenge. I have a feeling that it will be a doozy.

I received this title from the publisher in exchange of my honest opinion.

Caress (The Dining Club #6)

by Marina Anderson

This is park six in The Dining Club series it continues from part 5.
Grace has completed the trials she has been given so far, she is now going to attempt to try trial and unknown to her it is a weekend trial. Andrew has came to see Grace to try put her off by telling her that he really likes her and that David won't want her to complete the trials.
David finds out about Andrew's visit and is not too happy about it. Amber is feeling threatened in case Grace passes the trial.
I am really enjoying this series and it has a good storyline to it. I am still not too keen on David and I can't seem to warm to him at all.

Lots of hot sexual situations and things seem to be hotting up now. I will be diving straight into book 7 and can't wait to see what happens.

I received a copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

In Part six, David is away on Business and Andrew has taken the opportunity to visit Grace at a pub and discuss David’s past. As Grace learns what she has feared all along, she is angered and enlightened by the revelations from Andrew. David has mixed emotions and is extremely conflicted as to whether or not he wants Grace to be successful in the fourth trial. He goes so far as to purposely tire her out the night before but he does admit – to himself at least – that he was extremely angered and jealous of Andrew’s visit. As they drive to the Dining Club for the trial , he is purposely evasive about the events about to play out. He gives Grace minimal details and has yet to determine if he wants her to succeed or fail.

I like David but hate him too. I think he has a cruelty to him that Grace in her sweetness does not deserve.

I’m still at a solid 4 star and can’t wait to read Part Seven! I’m getting NOTHING done today!

At the end of the last story, Andrew orchestrated a "chance" meeting with Grace back in London. His specific intent was to shake her confidence in David by confirming her fears. While he achieves one of his goals, it backfires somewhat as she doesn't appreciate his disloyalty to David and loses some trust in him.

Grace is actually becoming more confident in herself and is coming closer to really seeing David as he really is, flaws and strengths. Her feelings for him remain strong but she's beginning to see herself as more of an equal. I'm liking her better but really wish she'd spend some time evaluating just what she thinks she might win if she gets David. I'm also completely divorced from Team Andrew.

The pace of this story was much better and I believe the additional chapter gave breadth to the characters. I learned much, much more about David, Andrew and Amber.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from netgalley. I have already read the first five parts and to say I'm in love with this series wouldn't be true. I'm not a fan of David's character at all. Thanks to his part, Grace almost failed the last part and his relationship with Amber has created a serious issue with Grace. Amber and Andrew are sabotaging Grace so Amber can keep David to herself and Andrew can have Grace.

We also have David unsure how he feels about Grace and how he feels if she would succeed. If you didn't want her to succeed why bring her into this life and push her into this? HMMM??? For some reason I still keep being dragged into this series and waiting for the next one.

The sixth installment of this book picks up in Grace's apartment with Andrew trying to talk Grace out of going any further. Some of the issues that he brings up are things that have been bothering Grace already about her relationship. However, Grace is not willing to admit this to Andrew and instead tells him there is nothing she wants more than to complete the trials.
I keep reading this series because it has definitely pulled me in but yet I keep hoping that I will see something redeemable about David. I just can't figure out why he ever brought Grace into this if he's not sure he wants her to succeed. As it stands now, I'm not sure if I really want Grace to succeed if it means she will spend more time with David.

Ahh we return again to this series that I cannot seem to stop reading. Poor Grace has to go through these trails for David who is in my opinion an idiot. I get that David is troubled or a bit damaged but come on man what does a woman have to do to prove that she loves you. He sends her mixed messages all the time trying to sabotage her as well as help her in the trials. I just want to cold clock the guy. Gracie you can do so much better... and let us not forget Amber that woman still grinds my gears.

I am a glutton and I am onto the next book in this series so that I can see what happens to Grace and David. Great editing done with this book and still a bit stuffy at times but it grew on me.

What goes on at the Dining Club is quite the erotic tale. At first I felt that Grace was being manipulated by David and even being forced into doing things that she wouldn't normally choose to do however, I think she does enjoy it. What I hate more and more is every time David tells her she has to do something or else he will leave her. In this installment you begin to understand a bit more about David and why he is the way he but it still doesn't make me like him any better. I think he is cold and a manipulator. I don't believe he is capable of love but there are still two more installments so we will see....

Im assuming this is a series, but the author to me submits more effort as the story goes on. Im not really sure at this point if Grace really understands what she wants. It seems she takes everything in strides, even cunnilingus to women when she doesn't want to. Even though she gets turned on, it still makes me slightly quesy to think this may not be what she wants but what she thinks she must do in order to keep the man she loves. His selfishness knows no bounds, and I keep reading because really at this point what do I have left to lose. Plus the author writes about a fifth table. Thanks for allowing me to read this book.

Well I am at least glad to see that someone has told Grace that they appreciate her and care for her, without expecting to give their all, and nothing in return. Finally Andrew, maybe I can put some hope in you! However, I unfortunately feel that Grace will not likely leave the childlike man known as David. I am beginning to think maybe the woman didn't complete all the trials on purpose. Maybe they saw he was a douche and didn't deserve them enough so they gave up. I know I would have!

I was asked to review this for Netgalley.

This is book 6 of the Dining Club series.

I am getting rather frustrated at the way David, Andrew and Amber are treating Grace. One moment David is all nice to her and wanting her, then he is using her body to get back at her for having Andrew in the apartment. Andrew on the other hand, ought to know better than to lead the poor girl on. I don't like Amber as she is too spiteful and manipulative in her ways of keeping David.

Now to see what Grace gets up to next on her task in Submit (Book 7).

Okay now I'm officially upset. Grace is definitely acting like a battered woman. She makes excuses for David's behavior and gets mad at her friends (mainly Andrew) when they try to talk to her. But her friend can't just be her friend for frienship's sake...no. He has to be interested in her. Anderson is really grating on my last nerve. This whole weekend-long trial better be over soon because I'm getting ready to throw my Nook out the window.

In this book Grace and David move forward in the Dining Club to table 4. Grace is starting to worry a little about David's feelings for her especially after her discussions with Andrew. She continues to be strong and face any challenge that comes her way. These challenges are harder and the competition is fierce. Another good read. Well Andrew has shown all his cards in this part of the series. He has told Grace exactly what he feels and now Grace is convinced that he is only out to ruin her relationship with David...but has he managed to put doubt into her already confused mind?
Grace is even more confused by everything but decides to return and see what tasks will be in front of her!
Another good part to this series and looking forward to the next.

I am starting to get the whole picture of this book series. I wish that all of the dinning club was in 1 book and I think it would make this a better story for me. I am still debating if I like David or not. Grace is growing on me as a character. Amber is a witch and Andrew I use to like but now I am not sure. Looking forward to see how this story wraps up.

I have resigned myself that all I can do is enjoy the sexual escapades in this book, that's it. Grace is hopeless. David should never be allowed near women again, and the rest of the characters can be blinked out of existence for all I care. I just have to enjoy the nervousness of what Grace is in store for next every time she enters the Dining Club.
