Kingdoms of Legacy #2

Legacy of Glass: A Cinderella Tale

Rate this book
The kingdom of Sovar’s Legacy demands balls and glass slippers, and the royal family are happy to oblige. They’ve been finding ways to contain and control the Legacy’s force for generations. Until it comes time for Crown Prince Julius to choose a bride.

Olivia traveled to the capital to work in her aunt and uncle’s business, not to clean their house. But she isn’t going to miss Sovar’s famed annual ball. Anyone is allowed to attend as long as they meet a single condition—they must dance in a pair of the glass slippers that have made Sovar famous. Thankfully Olivia’s only friend is willing to lend her a pair, and the prince even chooses her for a dance. It would be a dream come true if he weren’t so irritating.

Julius is willing to go along with his parent’s choice of bride because he knows his duty to his kingdom. But instead he ends up ensnared by the Legacy along with Olivia. They should be working together to escape, but Olivia is the most infuriating young woman he’s ever met. She’s uninterested in protocol or listening to Julius, and instead of escaping the Legacy, she’s obsessed with saving her friend. Thank goodness duty requires him to cut her out of his life.

But as they’re forced to spend more time together, Julius starts to wonder if Olivia might be seeing something he missed. If so, his duty to his kingdom matters more than ever. But what if his heart is becoming more interested in the infuriating girl at his side than in duty? What if the Legacy’s trap is exactly where he wants to be?

Enter a world where tales of the past shape the enchanted landscape—where glass can bend like a slipper and picking a rose courts danger. A world where the inhabitants must overcome the fabled Legacies as they find romance, adventure, and friendship.

4 stars ⭐️ Clean Fiction - Fairytale Retelling/Reimagined

For the last many months, my parents have been hearing me say “I can’t wait for May 23rd.” My dad had to ask a few times, but my mom knew it was book related. Sorry to warn my parents that I’ll be saying “I can’t wait for August 22nd” now. Only 90 days to go...

But, really, I’ve been so excited for this series and particularly this Cinderella tale as that’s a favorite one for me. The creativity in this series is unmatched and so unique. In this kingdom, their history is the story of Cinderella and because of the remains of that story being in the land (called the Legacy), it’s always pushing and trying to make that original story happen again. For the people of Sovar, that means constantly losing a shoe, mice as big as horses, and amazing glasswork—including glass slippers, of course.

See what I mean about creativity? This series is full of it and I’m so excited for more!

For our main couple, Olivia and Julius, the Legacy is pushing them together. Olivia might not be a technical servant, but she does live with her aunt and uncle and two female cousins—and she’s very good at household chores. When more interfering happens and glass heels are worn, more problems pop up for them.

Before you think the interfering is against them—oh, no. It’s for them being together even though they don’t want to be. They get off on the wrong foot and keep only taking steps with that foot for a while. I think it would be easy to get a bit frustrated with Olivia or Julius—I had a couple moments here and there, personally—but their reactions to an unexpected (and unwanted) event that will change their lives—plus the secrets and misunderstandings—was understandable and I loved when Julius noticed that he and Olivia are similar in their reactions. Didn’t mean I didn’t want to smack him to talk to her nicely or tell the two of them to quit sticking their foot in their mouths (which happened a lot), but it showed there was potential for them.

I did get a little lost a couple of times with all the characters/names and then when Olivia was confused about something too at the beginning, but I just went back and reread it and that helped.

Even though I prefer Cinderella to Beauty and the Beast, I would say I liked Book #1 (and the 1.5 novel as well) a bit more than this sequel, but I did greatly enjoy this book as well. If I could, I would put this one at 4.25 ⭐️. Absolutely cannot wait for Daphne’s story next!

Main Content-
In this series, each of the kingdoms have the origin story of a fairytale and in this book it is Cinderella; Each of the kingdoms have the remains of the enchantments of the original tale in the land (called ‘the Legacy’) and the Legacy is always trying to recreate the original events; While the Legacy is not a sentient force that can punish people, it can manipulate and influence others to do something to match the history of the land (such as forcing Olivia to be a servant for her extended family); Some people, like the royal family, have learned to seize control of it but are still always going to have a first born son (and most have chosen to only have one child while another country chooses to have many children to not be controlled by their Legacy); While the Legacy can mimic elements from the original history, a happily ever after isn’t promised.

In this book, the Legacy is shown because the people of Sovar are always apt to lose a shoe (and the crown prince is a great finder of lost shoes), the mice can get as big as horses and lizards as big as dragons, or even a widowed father meeting every widow with two daughters in the land; Julius receives plenty of aid from the Legacy in being a charming prince (said to have rivaled the original Prince Charming); In another kingdom, they are known for their mirrors and Olivia has one that is sometimes able to show a person’s true emotions.

Besides a group of traveling merchants, if someone leaves their place of birth, the Legacy of that country causes a side effect for that person (for example, Olivia’s cousin was born in another kingdom that is connected to Sleeping Beauty and Daphne falls asleep a lot).

No language stronger than ‘blast’ or ‘drat’; The fictional world phrase “what in the kingdoms” is said twice; A couple mentions of curses (said, not written); Eye rolling & Sarcasm.

Being held hostage and threatened, Being held at knife-point, Fighting (both training and actually fighting for their life) Stabbing and running someone through with a sword, Being trapped in a mob, Injuries, Pain, & Blood/Bleeding (up to a few sentences).

Many mentions of abductions/kidnappings, the abductors, & ransoms (and the threat of harm or death to a loved one); Mentions of deaths & grief; Mentions of criminals & crimes; Mentions of fighting/attacks, knocking others unconscious and/or stabbing them in fights, pain, injuries, & blood/bleeding; Mentions of a young woman running away from home; Mentions of lies, lying, & liars; Mentions of gossip & rumors; Mentions of a young man making slights towards his younger brother and their mother (even calling her worthless for not having another child that could have helped their position in society); A few mentions of jealousy; A couple mentions of throwing up; A mention of prison.

Staring at lips & Wanting to kiss,
1 almost kiss (lasting a few sentences),
1 kiss lasting a sentence,
1 kiss lasting a few sentences,
Remembering a kiss (a sentence).

Touches, Embraces, Dancing, Butterflies, Nearness, Blushes, & Noticing (up to 2-3 sentences); A bit of jealousy.

Mentions of kisses & kissing; A handful of mentions of lovers & a couple being star-crossed lovers; A few mentions of girls giggling and sighing over Julius; A couple mentions of flirting.

*4.5(subject to change if and when I stop comparing this book to the masterpiece that was Ties of Legacy, lol.)

Content Rating: 5/5
Content Notes:
There's some sword fighting and brick throwing. *spoilers ahead* *end spoilers*
Theme Rating: 4.5/5
Theme Notes:
I've noticed that these books don't have as much of a theme as the Four Kingdoms books do, but there were still positive themes of learning to trust again and love prevailing over all.
Age Rating: 12+

Full RTC!!! For now all I'll say is that I binged this and thoroughly enjoyed it! I think I can also say this is the soonest after a release date I've read a Melanie Cellier book yet!

Oh my gosh, if I get my hands on them! I can’t believe them! You know who you are!!
The above line is a preview on an upcoming rant. Feel free to skip to the character section if you wish to know more.

On a calmer note, this was super unexpected! It kinda reminded me of “The Princess Companion” (except I liked The Princess Companion more) in a lot of ways, mostly in the characters and some parts of the plot. It was an interesting book, with a fascinating premise… I adore Sovar!! So far, this series doesn’t compare to the original “The Four Kingdoms” series. I understand that they’re different series (and the concept for this one is actually really cool), but if I were to compare them, I prefer the others. However, this was still a great book and I totally recommend it!

About the plot:
Well, that was exciting! There were plot twists and moments of tension and parts where it all slowed down… it was a really interesting plot and kept me hooked. I liked the mystery/adventure part, and it was nice to see them put all the pieces together. Overall, good plot!

Characters:
My favorite part!

Olivia: Olivia was a great fmc. In fact, I liked her more than most Cinderella fmc’s, which is a win in my book. She was still similar to Cinderella (ej. Mildred), but she wasn’t going to fall in love with someone just because he’s a prince. She never said it in those exact words, but the sentiment was there, and I love that for her. I liked her determination to help her friend and the part where she stopped the fight between Lord A and Lord B? Amazing, I was sooo proud of her!! I loved seeing her royal side, but she was always grounded and down to earth.

Julius: … He’s complicated. I shall start by saying he was not charming in the least. We’re constantly told how everyone (but Olivia) thought him soo charming, but we never actually see any evidence of that. So, although we were told repeatedly that he was quite charming, I was never actually charmed. He was also not very down to earth. He wasn’t uppity or arrogant or anything like that, he was simply ignorant on matters concerning the common populace. He always tried his hardest, though, and I’m sure he’ll be a good king one day. And he earned a lot of points in that last scene, what with his absolute lack of hesitation. So, he was great, but I don’t love him.

Daphne: Let’s just take a moment to appreciate Daphne – hands down the best character in the book. Sure, she only appeared in the second half, but from the moment she appeared she was noticing things others missed and spitting facts. I can’t wait to see more of her in her own book, but so far, I’ve noticed that she is really intelligent and really sensible. She hides behind a mask of sleepy incompetence (and most fall for it), but she notices a lot of things and is quick to take action. I love, love, love her.

(⚠️ Spoilers Ahead ⚠️)

(⚠️ End of Spoilers ⚠️)

❤️ Romance:
- Clean/No spice
- Nearness
- Noticing
- 2 kisses
- Remembering kisses

I was really looking forward to this book because of the banter and the rivals-to-lovers aspect, but it was honestly a bit of a letdown. It wasn’t so much banter as it was almost constant miscommunication. While Julius’ POV helped me understand him a bit better than I would have otherwise, I still sided with Olivia most of the time. Like, he got mad she didn’t do that thing he forgot to tell her to do. What does he think she is, a mind reader? And also, OLIVIA HAS A LIFE. I was so annoyed every time he was surprised/annoyed that she wasn’t in her bedroom (what just waiting for someone to come get her to do something?) or that she had plans. Like, sorry my plans are an inconvenience to you 🙄. Come on! They did fall in love in the end, and it was pretty sweet. I was vindicated when he didn’t spare Marigold a glance (albeit irked he trusted his parents in the first place) and also when he protected her. So, it wasn’t a bad romance at all, it was actually pretty adorable, but my standards were high, and it didn’t quite meet them. I wanted to swoon and half fall in love with them myself, but it’s a miracle Julius and I are on friendly terms. Still, I’m rooting for them and I’m glad they got there happily ever after.

⚠️ Content Warnings:
- There’s a force called the Legacies that tries to recreate the original fairytales, and things don’t always go according to plan.
- Magic mirror
- Almost walking off a cliff (we’re in Sovar, what did you expect?)
- Bribing
- Injury
- Lies
- Abductions
- Ransoms, etc.
- Fight scenes
- Hitting people with bricks
- Running people through, etc.
- Person falls off cliff (survives, albeit with injuries)

Note: I may have missed something, so feel free to let me know if I did.

Honestly, not much content to speak of, except for one or two fight scenes and of course all the magic that comes with this kingdom (not called “magic”). Aside from the fight scenes (which included running people through, hitting them with bricks, etc. (it wasn’t super descriptive, but I definitely winced several times)), it’s clean and generally acceptable for all ages (discretion advised).

Conclusion:
To conclude, this was a really good book! It’s true that my standards were high, and it didn’t quite meet them. I was expecting more from the romance, even though the plot was great. However, in general, it’s a very enjoyable read. I had a lot of fun reading it, and it’s one of the better Cinderella retellings I’ve read so far (for another amazing Cinderella retelling, I recommend “Kingdom of Cinders” by Deborah Grace White). I definitely recommend this book and this whole series!

I got the villain wrong! Shocking! But that's okay.
This was super fun. I thought it would be Daphne's story. But she makes an appearance!
Olivia & Julius were super cute.
So were Marigold & Cade!
And there's a Bess in the book!!! Love it!
Very sweet, quick read!

This book honestly felt like it *might* have the best one in the series. I also loved the Ties of Legacy book, but this one was amazing in a different way. Also, the cover looks amazing.

I love Cinderella so any fairytale retelling of it immediately catches my attention. This is probably one of my favorite Cinderella stories so far! I love the unique twists that Melanie Cellier puts into her stories, as well as the humor and romance that accompanies them.

Julius and Olivia cracked me up. They start off on such a wrong foot and it was hilarious watching them. They both grew so much over the course of the story and it was so fun watching them realize how much they loved each other.

The plot was full of surprises and twists that I didn’t see coming! I’m really looking forward to the next installment in the series!

even better than I’d hoped it would be

This second book in Melanie Cellier’s new series was even better than I’d hoped it would be. I especially loved that Olivia’s family all supported her (unlike the original Cinderella). All the little pieces pointing to Cinderella, including the giant mouse, were so much fun.

Unique Twists on Old Stories

I’m really enjoying the world building in Kingdoms of Legacy and can’t wait until Avery finds out more! I am also tempted to seek out fan art of Mildred…

This is a fun twist on Cinderella, where her family loves her, even if she acts like a servant, and following the fairy tale story is not nearly as important as being true to your own story.

The Legacy of the classic Cinderella tale continues to search for the girl with the glass slipper. Too bad she can't stand Prince Charming.
In this fresh spin on a beloved fairytale, we watch as our main couple, Olivia and Julius, are forced into a fake relationship for the sake of the Legacy, and set off to uncover a mystery.
But as they start to have feelings for each other, they begin to wonder if the Legacy is pushing them together, or if everything they've ever dreamed of is right in front of them.

⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ (4.5/5 stars, rounded up to 5)

I really enjoyed the first book in this series, but I was very pleased to discover this one was even better. After all the backstory needed for the high concept of the first story, I was a little worried this one would be confusing, but it was actually really nice, and easy to follow along with. I loved our main characters' banter/relationship, and I feel like this book really showed what could be done with such an amazing premise, and I was very happily surprised.
(I will say I would recommend reading this series in order, because we do learn certain things about the Legacy that would be confusing without the prior book to give you a little bit of backstory and explanation there.)
Our two main characters were really fun. I thought Julius was very humorous as a Prince Charming who didn't know what to do when someone wasn't naturally charmed by his prince-liness. And, also, I liked how she wasn't your typical Cinderella character, and she was willing to do some research and figure out what was going on in the story.
The side characters were fine for the most part-- I really enjoyed seeing Daphne again (so excited for book three!), and Cade was very fun. A few of the other characters weren't my favorite, but that's alright, and I was happy with how things ended up working out with them.
I really enjoyed seeing a Cinderella story that wasn't just 'so this is love', and instead had a lot more banter. There were so many parts I was smirking at with the humor-- overall, it was a really good time. (Spoken like a true enemies-to-more reader, I know.) I liked seeing how their relationship progressed, too, and so, yes, I was a big fan of them together.
In a lot of ways, this story actually reminded me of The Princess Companion by Melanie Cellier, which is my favorite fairytale retelling, so that was very fun for me. *all the heart eyes* If you enjoyed that one, I think you should consider giving this one a try.
I feel like this was very quintessential clean fairytale retelling YA. I don't feel like there was much content to note-- it's a romance, and there is some violence, but nothing that was personally upsetting to me. I don't think I would have any trouble recommending it to older teens-- but of course, everybody is different and has different taste.
This book (as well as the first book in the series) is available on Kindle Unlimited (at the time of posting), and I would definitely recommend checking it out, especially if you like Cinderella retellings, but you're looking for something new.

EMOJI REVIEW!

I enjoyed this book, though not quite so much as the first one in this series. This is unique among Cinderella retellings in that the majority of the book takes place after the legendary ball once Olivia, our Cinderella, becomes reluctantly engaged to Julius, our Prince Charming. The two of them then have to discover if they actually want to get married since they don't know each other well and first impressions were not favorable.
As heir to the kingdom of Sovar, where everything is forced to model itself after the tale of the original Cinderella, Julius is well aware of his role. His ancestors believed they had figured out a clever way to subvert the Legacy: by holding an annual ball where every girl has to come in a pair of glass slippers, except on the special years the crown prince turns 21. On those years, only one maiden comes to the ball in glass slippers, and she is the prince's chosen bride, pre-selected by the king and queen from among the noble girls of the right age. It's Julius's turn and he thought he was prepared to do his duty. But on the night of the ball there is a terrible mix-up and he finds himself engaged to Olivia, a commoner from the country who wasn't aware of the special rule, instead of the bride his parents had picked out. He and Olivia reluctantly agree to an engagement while the royal scholars search for a solution, and Olivia will learn to be a princess in the meantime in case no one can figure out how to get around the Legacy and safely break the engagement without magically devastating the country. As they spend time together, Olivia and Julius discover they might make a good partnership after all, especially as they try to solve the mystery of what happened to Julius's original chosen bride...who is still missing after the night of the ball.

I’ve been so excited to read this one! The cover is stunning and I love it so much! Olivia is a lovely character! She is brave, kind and determined! Julius is delightfully awkward! He grew into a wonderful man and really became the man and prince he needed to be! The two of them are hilarious together and I loved and laughed watching the two of them! It was delightful! Oh my goodness! This was so good! I loved it! The twists and turns were so fun! I can’t wait to read the next book in the series and find more out about Daphne! 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Quotes that I liked:

🩵 Julius's face softened. "You're my betrothed, Olivia. If I think you're in danger, I'll always come for you.”

🩵 She had already chosen Julius, and she would continue to do so every day, despite the difficulties that came with him.

🩵 "Will you dance with me, beautiful lady?" he asked, amusement dancing in his eyes and brightening his smile. “And then would you be mine forever?" “Yes." Olivia put her hand in his willingly this time, giving him her heart along with it. "And yes. I will gladly do both."

We met Olivia briefly in Ties of Legacy. She's the girl Avery gave a mirror to in hopes that it would help her on her journey to the capitol. She also happens to be the cousin Daphne mentions at the end of Legacy of Roses. Seeing her journey now is a lot of fun! She's different than Rosalie. She's not tricking the Legacy. Rather, she's already in the middle of one. However, she's just as furious to find herself pushed towards a man the Legacy chose for her. Despite the connections, her story stands on its own merits, and I loved every moment.

Olivia and Julius have almost no chemistry at the start with Julius' uncharacteristic awkwardness and Olivia's determination to find her abducted friend. However, they develop chemistry as the book progresses, which makes them an entertaining couple to follow.

The plot cleverly weaves together the elements we know from Cinderella while being subverted enough to be a unique take on the story. It kept me hooked the entire book, which meant I couldn't put it down and ended up staying up all night to finish. The characters have great chemistry, and this is one of the best enemies to lovers I’ve read in a while. I'm as confused as the characters why the cliffs keep appearing, but I love the mice. Highly recommend!

Looooveee this book!!!

Favorite quotes
"Ive long suspected you weren't blind to Olivia's charms. I'm fond of her myself."
"It's not just her charms," Julius snapped. "I've worked my whole life to be the perfect Prince Charming I have to be, but recently I've realized how far short of that ideal I actually fall. But Olivia fills in the gaps I lack. Together, working as a team, we're far more effective than the empty illusion I was managing on my own. I don't just want her, Mother. I'm better with her by my side."

"Are you really so sad to be left behind with just me?" Julius asked in an affectionate voice, clearly already knowing the answer.
Olivia pulled back so she could smile up at him. "No, of course not. I'll miss Daphne, but I always knew she had to leave eventually. And it's amazing how much easier it is to watch people go when there's one person who's promised never to walk away from me."
"Never," Julius vowed in a solemn voice.

Super Creative Take on Post Ball Cinderella

I throughly enjoyed this fresh take on Cinderella that focused on events after the ball. There is so much to do during the betrothal from learning to be a princess to trying to straighten out miscommunications with the prince to solving mysteries. The tone is fairly playful and light throughout. Legacy of Glass flew by in a blur of sweet, funny, and mysterious moments. The best friends and animal side kicks were amazing. Characters from previous books in the series made cameos, but there were no spoilers and this book can definitely be read on its own. It contains a clean no spice romance and brief non gory fighting. Readers who enjoy fantasy, clean romance, mystery, and friendships will have a great time reading through Legacy of Glass.

SO GOOD.

I usually dislike Cinderella retellings because Cinderella can often be an annoyingly discontent or delusional pushover. I also don't love the love-at-first-sight-but-don't-know-her-name element of it. None of those issues here! This Cinderella is smart and courageous without being stupidly independent or arrogant. I particularly loved how Ella has to STUDY with the queen to fit in - finally, someone didn't gloss over the fact that a random commoner wouldn't automatically have the skills to manoeuvre in a court setting.

This series is delightfully self-aware, swoony without being nauseating, and just green flags all around. Melanie Cellier is a genius. She's even more of a genius when you realise she has an entire different series of fairytale retellings and yet she's executed both contrasting styles in fresh ways.

Okay, so I REALLY did not expect to love this book as much as I did. Cellier is outdoing herself with this series!
This storyworld is so interesting. Whereas the kingdom in the first book tries to deter the (supposedly mindless) Legacy, the people in THIS kingdom try to follow it as much as possible.
This is an enemies-to-lovers, accidentally-arranged-marriage Cinderella retelling. Being enemies to lovers, it does have some Pride and Prejudice “first impressions” vibes. I loved the self-discovery arc on Julius’ part, and Olivia’s coming into her own. Both the arcs and how Julius and Olivia learn to support one another are beautifully encouraging. It’s amazing the heights you can reach when the mindless Legacy throws your best laid plans for a loop.
I recommend for ages 19 and up for sweet how-did-I-get-stuck-with-you romance.

I love Melanie’s newest fairytale series! This one was fantastic! I found the plot enthralling and couldn’t put the book down! The world building is well written. I love the aspect of the legacies influencing/interfering in the kingdoms and the characters lives. So unique and creative! The enemies to lovers plot was chef’s kiss! I like it when the characters truly dislike each other in beginning like Olivia and Julius. Instead of one being secretly in love with the other. I loved how their relationship developed. The romance was clean/sweet with plenty of tension and swoony moments. The mystery woven it in was intriguing and kept me glued to my chair. I cannot wait for Daphne’s story next! Highly recommend this retelling of Cinderella!

Another great installment to the Kingdoms of Legacy series. I'm glad that we got to see more of Daphne and I grew to love both Olivia and Julius. They both got off on the wrong foot but, overtime, they grew to genuinely love the other. I really enjoyed the way Sovar's Legacy caused them to lose a shoe, or made the animals grow really huge. Melanie was really creative in the way she caused the Legacy to alter the landscape and actions around them. I'm interested to see how the next few books will play out with Avery now knowing how to break the Legacies and I'm definitely curious why cliffs always spring up around beautiful gardens, which is definitely something that doesn't happen in the original tale. I'm excited for Daphne's story and I can't wait to read it next!

What If

What if Cinderella and the Prince were forced into an unwanted betrothal? In Sovar, where Ella once wed the prince, the pumpkins grow large, the mice are the size of cats, and shoes tend to get lost.

When Olivia enters the ball, she is surprised to be thrown into the legacy’s plans for the prince’s ball and shocked to discover that she is going to be the prince’s bride. Now she needs to learn all about court, find her interfering friend who got her into this mess, and navigate her relationship with Prince Julius.

With clever nods to original fairytales, but a sweet and adventurous plot of its own, fairytale fans will devour Legacy of Glass.

Cute retelling of Cinderella w/ a pinch of mystery

“Legacy of Glass” is a sweet retelling of Cinderella, woven seamlessly into the wider world of the Kingdoms of Legacy series. Melanie Cellier gives familiar elements a fresh twist, while still capturing the magic and heart of the original fairy tale. I’d call it a bit of a deconstructed version.

It’s light, fun, with a pinch of mystery —a perfect read if you love “clean” (read non-spicy) fairy tale retellings. Liked this one even better than the first book. Guess I’m off to read book number three now, since I need to finally know Daphne’s story.

I'm so happy with this book! Melanie Cellier's writing just keeps getting better and better. I loved how she put a completely different spin on Cinderella and I loved the humour, misunderstandings, and plot! I loved getting to see Daphne again and I cannot wait for her book! I loved Olivia and Julius - they were so hilarious together! This book had everything I could have wished for in this Kingdoms of Legacy series and I cannot wait for all the other books in the series! This was truly a great, cozy read for anyone who loves light-hearted fairy tale romances with a dash of danger thrown in!

Very different Cinderella tale

Julius, as crown prince has to go to a ball where the Legacy will choose his bride. All eligible women in the kingdom are invited. This is where the fun begins! Marigold invites her friend Olivia to go with her, for a good reason . This leads to discovering a diabolical plot. Mildred is a good addition as a side character. I love all the Legacy books, and this one does not dissapoint. Twisty plot, slow burn clean romance and unsuspected villian.

This book was sooo good! I still really love the unique idea of a Legacy, forcing people into a fairytale against their will. I also really love the dual POVs. The Four Kingdoms books were so good, but it's nice seeing the princes get character arcs too!

I had so much fun. The unique magic and stories with the backdrop of Cinderella really drew me in. Julius and Olivia were both great and I loved them both, and swooned with them together. The side characters were funny too. I loved Marigold and I'm super excited for Daphne to FINALLY get her own story!

What a fun and unique take on Cinderella! 😍 I’m giving it 4 stars because for the first 40% of the book both Olivia and Julius kept taking what each other said completely wrong, and there were so many misunderstandings and irritated feelings for no reason… 🙄 BUT once they finally started connecting and stopped assuming the worst of each other, I became invested and couldn’t stop reading! The plot was engaging and suspenseful at times, and I absolutely loved the fun cast of characters.

Happy release day! This was so much fun to read! This series has such a great premise, what with the legacies and all. Mildred the Mouse is an amazing name. Daphne's role in this book was smaller than I expected, but I'm eagerly looking forward to her story. I really wish that we knew what caused the cliffs by the end of this book, but as long as we know by the end of the series, I'll be happy.

Love love love this series

I can't say how much I absolutely adore this take on the classics. It was an absolute genius idea. Like reading an old friend and a new adventure all at once. I still think it's stupid to label the perspectives, though! Hope there's bonus content available. I want more!

Cinderella Legacy

Super cute! I loved how this had hints of the Cinderella fairytale while being open to be its own story! It was low angst and cozy. Once our main characters started to communicate it was so sweet! I liked the way the miscommunication was presented.

No spice (just kisses)
No explicit language
PG Violence/gore
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ cute and fun

Couldn't put it down

Another great installment in the Legacy series. The Cinderella story has been done a hundred times, but this story managed to put a new twist on it, largely through the addition of some quirky supporting characters. A little danger and mystery provide the background for a slowly developing romance, following an inauspicious beginning
