When Claire Dalton’s mother, Maggie, begins dating the charming Gideon Cole, Claire’s life takes a dark and terrifying turn. A former military officer turned university football coach, Gideon seems too good to be true. Claire’s gut tells her something sinister lies beneath his polished exterior. As bodies start to pile up around campus and Gideon’s grip on her family tightens, Claire becomes convinced he’s not the man he claims to be. With no one willing to believe her, Claire must uncover the truth herself.

Claire embarks on a journey to protect her family and expose the monster lurking within their home. What begins as a battle of wills turns into a fight for survival when Claire discovers the chilling extent of Gideon’s past. Operation Sentinel, a clandestine military experiment, didn’t just make him stronger—it made him unstoppable. Now, he’s hunting Claire, and she must rely on her courage, resourcefulness, and unbreakable love for her family to outwit him before it’s too late.

In this gripping psychological thriller, StepDad explores the thin line between trust and deception, love and manipulation, and the lengths one young woman will go to protect the people she loves. Perfect for fans of intense, character-driven suspense with a heart-pounding climax, StepDad will keep you on the edge of your seat until the final, breathtaking showdown.

Good read

Its a good read but halfway threw this novel it just reminds be of Amy. The coach doesn't die. Its a totally different story but if you read Amy it may just remind you of that . Clair and her family are almost killed by her moms new boyfriend. He's killed a few college students. I like!d that it was interesting though and never a dull moment.I will be reading book two I need some answers like what happen to Eddie and what did Briggs find out about dear old step daddy.

This was a pretty good read. Intense and sad. People should've listened to the MFC. She knew something was wrong. You just didn't know how wrong it was going to go. And the ending. Oh my. You'll have to read it to find out.
