Needs Works

Depute romance novel by Author Amara Coxx.

The first book of a series, so beware…the writing needs work.
This does end in a cliffhanger. I didn’t see it coming.
The bar scene in the beginning was just as awkward for me as the reader as it was to the characters.
This book was super cute. The banter between the two main characters was fun. Could have gone without the pet names. While the characters were likable and had great chemistry, the spice came a little too quickly.
There is a lot going on in this story. Sometimes I’m wondering on what I’m supposed to pay attention to and care about.

Will give this Author another try in the future.

So, this is a debut romance novel by Author Amara Coxx. The first book of a series, so beware… there’s a major cliffhanger at the end, that I was simply not prepared for! Ha ha. When I tell you that my jaw DROPPED on page 302 of 309 in this book…it took me probably a full 2 minutes to get the nerve to turn the page and keep going. And once I did, I got so wrapped up in the drama going on that I forgot I was close to the end. So when I got to the last page saying “To Be Continued…” I was like NOOOOO!! This book was super cute. The banter between the two main characters was fun. Some of the nicknames used were cheesy, but to each their own. It took me a minute to get into the story to be honest. While the characters were likable and had great chemistry, the spice that goes on right at the beginning threw me off a bit. While I love me some good spice, I also like there to be depth and plot. So I got afraid that this was going to be a book without that… BUT, I was pleasantly surprised. A really deep connection was formed between these two. They obviously had instant chemistry, but they also felt like they could be vulnerable with each other. Then comes in some drama with Warren’s coworkers that they are kind of forced to deal with after only knowing each other a few days, and it was a make or break moment for them. I loved Warren’s family, and Mona’s friends & family. They seem really genuine, so I’m excited to see how those relationships are maybe shown more in book 2…. as well as obviously, what happens with the big cliffhanger at the end.
