One month—that’s how long it’s been since the System arrived bringing the apocalypse with it. Iain could list out the number of ways he’d survived one catastrophic event after the other, but it would just remind him how tired he is. Sadly, the old saying is there is no rest for the weary.
That isn’t to say there haven’t been high points, because he’s had more than a few. One of the latest and greatest of which was dealing with Robin’s ex-husband. That’d been a genuine pleasure. The thing is, those events are already just dying embers in the dark, and there is a lot more unpleasantness on the horizon.
How does he know?
Easy. The System let him in on a world altering secret then dumped him in the middle of a political situation that’s bound to shake parts of the Universal Collective to its core. Worse yet, he knows there’ll soon be hell to pay, and he’ll get stuck with the bill once again.
At this point, the question is, just how many times can he dance with the devil without getting burned?
Ken Lange is a current resident of the 'Big Easy', along with his partner and evil yet loving cats. Any delay, typo or missed edit can and will be blamed on the latter's interference.
He arrived at this career a little later in life and his work reflects it. Most of his characters won't be in their twenties and they aren't always warm and fuzzy. He is of the opinion, that middle aged adults are woefully underrepresented in fiction and has made it his mission to plug that gap.
So the title of the book is based on one small part of the story. It is possible that this part of the story was used as it is a redemption for Hannah. I genuinely wonder how many people wrote to the author about wanting Hannah dead, that he created a small redemption arch to explain away her behavior? Anyway, I personally still want her dead and gone as she has been a heinous character from the beginning and her personality still didn't change that much after New Tyler.
Again, catching the two different spellings of the character Adrain/Adrian. Is this character going to have any development or are they literally left in for the LGBT+? Genuinely want to know.
Good storytelling, some interesting adventures, but not much in the way of plot development. Felt very much like a filler book or side book to pick up until the actual sequel is written. Magnus has his trial but it is so glossed over, makes the character feel like an afterthought.
Anyway, the book is better than the review I am writing; even I recognize not much good is being written. A lot of dark stuff happens.
Oh!!! Rufus has a major part, so we get to read about murder kitties!!!!! Weeeeee!!!!
