When the Fates give you face-to-face advice about claiming your mate, you absolutely listen to them.

Briggs James comes from a pack that is easy to get lost in. When news that the new Paranormal Council was seeking enforcers, he jumped at the chance to join. Although his birth pack was on the up-and-up, he knew too many weren’t, and he wanted to do what he could in order to help those who needed it. When he’s sent to New Mexico on assignment, they realize there’s more happening with the local pride than they knew. But will the council be able to deal with it? Or will they need a little bit of outside help?
Todd Miller is trying to build a semblance of a somewhat functional life. Although he’s learning to feel safe again, he often still wakes up in his cheetah form and wonders if he’s back in the cage he was kept in for three years. He likes his job but wonders if he’ll ever be fixed enough to have what the mated couples he sees in the clinic have. Could someone want that with him? Would he be able to trust another alpha enough to be so open with him?
When the Fates personally visit not only Todd but Briggs as well, the two choose not to fight the fact that they’re fated. It’s likely that the Fates know more than they do, and they need one another now. Will life calm down for these two, or will it only intensify?
Briggs is Book Sixteen in the Paranormal Council Enforcers series. Each book in this series will focus on a different couple, but these books are not standalones and should be read in order as there is an ongoing backstory that won’t be resolved quickly. This is a fated mate story in an MPreg world, and there will be at least one baby. You should expect all the normal shenanigans and remember that sometimes even fated mates need a little help.

It was nice and simple, which is good because I've had a stressful couple of days and anything heavy would have been disastrous for me. This one was on a sweet spot of enough to be entertaining but not too much as to be overwhelming

Briggs by Taylor Rylan is the 16th book in her Paranormal Council Enforcers series. I suggest that you read the others first to get a sense of this very unusual world she has created as well as characters that reoccur in this one. This is a sweet story of an enforcer that finds his fated mate in a man that was held captive and saved but has problems because of it and how he is able to overcome them with his help and love. Briggs James is a wolf who left his family to become an enforcer with the Paranormal Council. They are a large group and while there is no animosity among them, they are busy and somewhat indifferent to their children, so they didn’t really miss him when he left. He was being sent on a mission to New Mexico to check on missing children and why the town they were going to wasn’t “normal” by having any young people around. When he and his teammates got there, they found it very strange but were sent home because the Hellhounds sensed different forces in play that only they could handle. Todd Nelson, a cheetah shifter, was from the pack they were checking out. He had been rescued after being sold by his uncle after his parents died and kept in a cage for 3 years. His younger brother and sister were also found, although they weren’t kept in the same circumstances as he was, and were currently living with Alpha Babek and his mate because Todd often woke up in his shifted state and was afraid he would hurt them. He was getting therapy that was helping but he wasn’t ready to have them with him yet. He is currently working with Dr. King in the Omega Clinic, a job he likes but doesn’t feel qualified for because he was homeschooled and could barely read, let alone work with the computer scheduling appointments. He thought Dr. King didn’t like him because of this, but found out later that he really did. Briggs was walking by the clinic when he smells his fated mate and when he goes inside he meets Todd who doesn’t think he’s ready for a mate yet. Briggs is willing to wait as long as he needs to and when he talks to Master Edison he learns about his captivity and gets the advice to date and take things slow, but not to be passive so Todd will know he wants him. After both of them get a visit from the fates Thomas and Canyon, which is unusual, they take their advice and start dating and making decisions about how to move forward. Todd really feels like he is unlovable and damaged and it takes a while for Briggs to get him to see that he is really strong to have survived all that he went through. Along the way they kiss, have a hot love scene, and then Briggs helps Todd through his heat which leads to the normal consequence of having a baby. The rest of the story is about the pregnancy, which is somewhat difficult, the choices they make, taking in Todd’s brother, and then the birth which makes them fathers and while they are busy they are also happy, especially because they have declared their love for each other. Todd has also seen that he is strong and that he is worthy of Briggs’s love. I really enjoyed this book, as I have the others in the series. This is a very sweet story of two different men who have to go through the ups and downs of their relationship and help each other see who they really are as they find their way to love. Briggs is strong and seeks help when he needs it on order to help Todd understand that he is strong and loved. Todd has been through so much and has a lot on his shoulders with figuring out what to do with his job and his brother and sister, going to therapy for being held captive, as well as having a difficult pregnancy. Briggs is just what he needs to help him get through all of this and sees who h e really is. The other Masters, Alphas, and friends also play a part in the story, helping them when needed and giving good advice. And the “wind” that surrounds pregnant alphas showed up again which always makes me sigh. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like sweet stories about paranormal men who are finding their way as fated mates and how they adjust and help each other as they find their way to love.

Briggs is the 16th installment in Taylor Rylan’s Paranormal Council Enforcers series, and it’s a heartfelt, emotionally rich story that continues to build on the intricate world she’s crafted. If you’re new to the series, I strongly recommend starting from the beginning to fully appreciate the recurring characters, complex relationships, and the unique paranormal universe Rylan has developed. Briggs is a sweet and deeply moving tale of recovery, resilience, and the transformative power of love. Briggs James, a wolf shifter and dedicated enforcer, is sent on a mission to investigate a mysterious town devoid of children. Though the mission is cut short, fate has other plans—leading him to Todd Nelson, a cheetah shifter with a traumatic past.
Todd’s story is heartbreaking: sold by his uncle, caged for three years, and separated from his siblings. Now free, he’s working at the Omega Clinic, struggling with self-worth and the lingering effects of captivity. His journey is one of slow healing, and Rylan handles it with sensitivity and care. Briggs is a tender, emotionally satisfying read that blends paranormal intrigue with heartfelt romance. It’s a story of two very different men learning to trust, heal, and love—together. Todd’s journey from trauma to self-worth is inspiring, and Briggs’s quiet strength makes him the perfect partner. If you enjoy sweet paranormal romances with fated mates, emotional depth, and a strong sense of community, Briggs is a must-read. Taylor Rylan continues to deliver stories that tug at the heartstrings while celebrating love in all its forms.

This is part of a long series with an overarching plotline, if you read this as a standalone, you may find yourself a bit confused when past events are mentioned.

I'm going to start off by saying that I liked Briggs and Todd's characters and I think that they worked well together as a couple. They helped balance each other out, Briggs provides a cool and steady balance to Todd when Todd's thoughts start to spiral out of control. They have a nice relationship and they try to prioritize communication. The reason why I rated this lower is because I felt like there was a bit of a disconnect with the writing, there was a lot of info coming up but then wasn't further expanded on which left me confused. I understand that there's an overarching plot and that each story leads into the next one, but it just didn't work well for me. I usually enjoy Taylor's writing and I've liked her other stories, I just wasn't in love with this one.

But! I did like seeing Briggs, Todd, and John get their happily ever afters as their own family unit.

What I love about this series is that I know that there will be minimal angst, steamy times mixed with plenty of sweet and a well deserved HEA that leaves my heart happy. This instalment is no exception. Omega cheetah shifter Todd had his life irrevocably changed when he was kidnapped as a teenager. He found a place with the Council after his rescue and is slowly finding his place in the world. Wolf shifter Briggs is an enforcer for the council and after he scents his mate Todd he does all he can to make Todd comfortable and secure. They communicate and work together to ensure that their mating is all that they both ever desire and begin a new life together. This is an easy and enjoyable low angst read with a fated mates romance that this author is known for. Another great instalment in the ongoing series.

Briggs is what most people hope to be; understanding, patient, kind, not afraid to ask for help and attentive!! Briggs is the alpha we love to love and Todd is the omega we root for! Todd has been through so much and his self doubt shines through but what an incredible lovable cheetah. These stories with the rescued omegas tugs on the heart strings but their strength, determination and happy ever afters are heart warming. Taylor has done it again with bringing you into this world and has you falling in love with the characters and completing investing in them! There is not a series I love more than Taylor’s Paranormal MPreg world. Each book I hang on for never disappoints. If you love MM paranormal mpreg with hea’s and some serious tones than this world is for you but start at the beginning, trust me, every book is worth the read!

I am loving this world. Todd was rescued a little back and having to endure a lot in his three years of captivity. When tasked to help out Dr. king at the omega clinic, he is lost as his upbringing didn’t allow anything from the outside world. Briggs is an enforcer with the council and when he and his team went to investigate Todd’s old pack, they are confused as there is no one around. The hellhounds do stay behind as apparently they are dealing with something unknown to everyone else. When he gets back, he scents his mate around the bakery and goes to the clinic where the scent is stronger. He was so excited in meeting Todd that they arranged for a date that night. I loved how Briggs was able to bring Todd up with his confidence after all that he went through. Great world building with it leading up to their happy ever after. I cannot wait to read more from this author,

We're at book 16 in this series and somehow, they keep getting better and better! When Briggs left his large pack in order to do join the council and help others he didn't expect to find his mate. Nor did he expect to meet a fate along the way in his courtship.
Todd is still trying to find balance in his new life after being rescued by the enforcers before Briggs joined. He still doesn't feel completely safe and worries about everything from his new job to his younger siblings. That doesn't stop him from falling for his new mate. Especially when a fate lends a helping hand.
I am enjoying how each couple is benefiting from the example of others and learning to embrace their new relationship easier. It was wonderful to see Todd healing and excepting the help he's needed. Wonderful couple and wonderful family!

I was so happy to finally see Todd het his Happily Ever After. And Briggs was the perfect mate for him. I loved there story, how attentive, patient and understanding Briggs was with Todd, who still suffered from nightmares and symptoms of ptsd from his time in captivity. These two were so sweet, and I loved that the Fates took a more personal role in their meeting and mating. I just love this whole world and I never get tired of reading about all of my favorite characters and seeing cameo's from past characters. The only thing I wish we had gotten to see was a resolution to Todd's missing baby sister; I hope we see that in a future book. Can't wait for the next story in this world, and especially for the Fae characters.

Since we met Todd I have been hoping to see him meet his mate as he is such a cutie who just needs some support to find his self confidence after everything he has been through. The hurt/comfort trope is heavy in this one as Todd is still very actively trying to rebuild his life after being rescued with the addition of his younger siblings needing him.

Briggs’ kindness and patience is everything he needed and I adored that the fates actively involved themselves to make sure Briggs and Todd found their way to each other. This was some great storytelling.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Fated knows what she is doing!

Briggs was one of my favorite books in the series. Fate brings Briggs his mate Todd who was one of the rescued omegas. Briggs helps Todd heal from his past trauma as they build a bond and family together with a little help from othes characters from previous books. I love how the uathor blends new characters with old ones and you get to keep up with their lives too. I recommend reading the others in the series before reading this one as it is part of an ongoing series. If you love mm, paranormal, shifters and a HEA, then you will love Briggs and the rest of the Paranormal Council Enforcers series

Love blossoms again... and the mystery deepens..

Briggs and Todd have been working next door to each other for months, but a chance meeting changes everything. Their pairing is unexpected, and Todd is still recovering from traumatic events from his past and wondering how to get his act together enough to take care of two younger siblings. Fortunately, Fates Thomas and Canyon appear to assure them that theirs is a fated, love match, and they eventually get their HEA. Meanwhile, the mysterious events of Todd's former pride have uncovered new mysteries... what happens next?

Briggs, Todd and Found Family

Reading this book I had my legs in the air and kicking my feet. Since we were introduced to Briggs I have been waiting for his book. Todd seemed like the perfect match for him. The growth we see in Todd from when he was first introduced to now is one that I hope all injured omegas get to experience.
The spice was just perfect and I love the connection of Briggs and Todd

This is a paranormal shifter romance with mpreg, the sixteenth book in a series that should be read in order. I loved the story of overcoming for this little cheetah shifter Todd and his mate Briggs. The only frustration I had was that I didn’t get more of the overarching background plot because it only focuses on these two, but I’m hoping we get that in the next book so continue on I go! The author is a good writer and writes beautifully crafted HEA for our enforcers!

I think the was the most beautiful hurt comfort romance of the series. Todd's captivity had left him feeling insecure and he genuinely could not see how anyone would be able to love him. Briggs being a wolf enforcer really showed his softer side caring for Todd and coaxing him into finding himself and his confidence again. I just felt so comfortable while reading their romance.

Good 3.5*

Briggs and Todd make a nice couple.

Todd has suffered so much, and given his captivity at such an early age, his trauma is an incredibly horrific one. Briggs does his best to help him through it enough to begin the life they both deserve.

This had so much potential to me, but then several threads were started but never followed through on, which sadly left us hanging.

This is the 16th book in this series. Todd and Briggs are one of my favorite couples. I've been hoping to see Todd get his HEA since he was rescued. I feel like Briggs calmed some of Todd's anxiety throughout the book. The two balanced each other well. It did feel a bit rushed, but overall, I was extremely happy with the book and the sneak peek at who might be in the next book, and I can't wait.

Council Enforcers

Briggs gets his man! The Council Enforcer series is one of my favorites. Every book is filled with love, action, and babies. There is a wonderful cast of characters that return again and again and we get to know them better as time goes on. I highly recommend reading this series.

I love how Briggs didn’t want to rush Todd after everything he’s been through and was very understanding. They both got a push from the Fates. I enjoyed following their mating and I can’t wait for the story arc to continue.

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I really enjoyed this book and thought that it was another good addition to the Paranormal Council Enforcers Series. I thought that Briggs and Todd were great together. Poor, Todd didn’t have a smoothest pregnancy, as his emotions were completely out of whack which is understandable after everything he’s been through and now that he’s bonded he knows that he’s completely safe and happy with Briggs, he’s able to feel a full spectrum of emotion and he won’t be punished for it, like he would’ve been when he was held captive.

I wouldn’t have complained if there was more action and adventure like the earlier books in this series but I think the down time is what Briggs and Todd needed. Briggs is so attentive to Todd’s needs and he’s more than happy to reach out to others if he doesn’t know how to help him. I’m looking forward to reading more from this series as it continues, as well as more books from Taylor in the future. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.

******I received a copy of this book because I’m a member of Taylor Rylan’s Patreon. I happily reviewed this book and I would do so even if I purchased it myself. My thoughts and feelings about this book are completely unbiased******
