Tristan Malone was an asshole of the highest power. So why had I been crushing on him since grade school? The problem, other than he still saw me as a little girl with braids, was I was dating his younger brother.
Preston and I belong together. That’s what we’ve been told. And I believed them. My parents. His parents. Our friends.
I came to the ’Malones broken, devastated, and pissed off at the world. The last thing I should be doing was messing around with Preston’s troublesome older brother.
But I wanted trouble.
I wanted to feel something.
I wanted Tristan to corrupt me.
Trigger violence, trauma, drugs, drinking, swearing. Corrupt Me is a standalone college dark romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger. It is a full-length novel and recommended for 18+ due to language and adult situations.
USA TODAY Bestselling author J.L. Weil lives in Illinois where she writes Teen & New Adult Paranormal Romances about spunky, smart mouth girls who always wind up in dire situations. For every sassy girl, there is an equally mouthwatering, overprotective guy. Of course, there is lots of kissing. And stuff.

She is the author of the International Bestselling Raven & Divisa series.
Plot: 3.5/5 • Smut: 2.5/5 ———-> Knowing you’re in love with your boyfriend’s brother for years must have been hard. The boyfriend being a cheating asshole who knocks up one of the girls he’s been cheating on you with? Harder.
This really doesn’t have much plot or climax. There’s like on nitty gritty scene, but that’s about it. The rest is just Tristan being overprotective the entire time. Literally for years. It’s endearing.
The smut wasn’t much, but it was good. Maybe it was because of the build up to it that it was good? still on the fence about it.
This was a really fun read and easy to power through it! I liked the main character and especially her relationship with her best friend, they were most definitely ride or dies and that gave a lot of light hearted moments at times.
It was a little slow to get into though as it was a case of the reader not fully knowing what was going on but once you start to get into it, you learn a lot about the main character and her life. This would be my only thing as at times I felt like I was missing something.
There was a lot of twists and turns, this book really does have a lot of tropes and wasn't what I was expecting when it comes to the brother of her boyfriend trope.
Overall, an enjoyable read and I do like reading her contemporary as much as her fantasy.
I don't know if I would consider this a dark romance. There is spice, a love triangle, and a pregnancy. **Spoiler the pregnancy isn't with the fmc** I feel like we were missing a lot. Especially with who Everly ended up with. The timeline of the past seems off because they talk about something that happened 6 months ago and never explain that but then they finally talk about what happened with her mom. I like Everly but feel like there was no growth. She went from doing what one person wanted to do to another. The spicy scenes were nice
This book was honestly just fine. It was not the best or the worst book although on more than one occasion you/your/you’re were used incorrectly which is not great as far as editing goes.
The characters were fine but while there were cute parts, steamy parts and action-packed parts they still kind of fell a little flat. There is a lot of build up to main part of the plot and honestly it’s just kind of underwhelming but there’s a HEA 🤷🏼♀️
To say this hit every mark in dark would be an understatement. Ever, Tristan, Sam and Preston took me for a ride I will never forget. Betrayal, forbidden love and more were had in the story. Would love to see more from each character in another book. Kudos to the author on another great novel.
I loved this although there were one or two things I found a little predictable. No matter how much she tried to make you hate Tristan it's just never happens but it is easy to hate Preston. Harper is confused but knew from the beginning who she loved and chose someone else so really she was the problem. Of course there is the protective best friend Sam to keep it fun.
This was a fun read if you enjoy dark romance, there was banter and mystery. I always enjoy JL Weil's writing. This was however a bit different than my usual reads but I recommend this book if you want banter and a headstrong fmc.
Honestly, I found all of it cliche and the FML was so clueless it was unrealistic and hard to like her. The only reason I did not DNF was bc it was one of my books listed to finish for the year. I found myself skimming toward the end. Save yourself the time.
This is the book that I didn't know I needed at a time that I needed to get lost from the world for a while. The characters are fantastic and the steam level is high. I look forward to more from this author.
This romance novel was great. I had a great time watching Ever and Tristan get it right together! Preston … tho wow!! I loved all the playful banter. Not dark with the right amount of spice.
I love J.L. Weil's books. This was a sweet yet spicy read. It has everything: a dark and brooding MMC, brothers fighting for the girl, and enemies to lovers.
I loved this story. It had ups and downs and the character development... As we learned their secrets. Perfect. Would have loved more spice but the tension was perfect.
I had really high hopes for this one. The premise itself was solid, but the execution fell flat for me. It felt rushed and generally like the story dragged.
This book was good. It wasn't the authors best read tbh and I've read most of her books. Loved the storyline and thought it could of gone further with more drama and action
