This extra-sized conclusion answers all the mysteries! Who is Holiday? What motivates the killer? And who will be the last victim? Plus, Two Face and Batman meet in their first battle ever as Gotham City transforms from a mere rat’s nest of gangsters to a deadly haunt for costumed criminals.

In the end i was wrong as usual about my prediction lol. So there was two holiday killers the first is gilda Harvey's wife. The second is alberto falcone who was believed dead and who killed maroni only. It seems that harvey went out one day with the intent of killing but it was alberto's day so that makes harvey innocent of that. Carmine falcone is killed by two face who goes after vernon as well and kills him. A great graphic novel that i enjoyed immensely.
Day 125: The final issue and another Halloween. Man, the beat down Batman put on Holiday/Alberto Falcone was vicious! On top of Alberto already being a small man. How he didn’t spend his first month of confinement in the infirmary I don’t know. Then he basically takes down his whole rogue’s gallery at one time. Eight of his toughest foes. And I want a poster of that “trick or treat” splash page.
I don’t know why I waited nearly 30 years to read this. The only problem was reading it one day at a time. Which, I guess, is better than an issue a month. But I could have devoured the trade collection in one sitting. Definitely one of the best story arcs for Batman and a nice addition to his early days. And that final reveal? Holy sh!! Batman!
So, it's one twist after another. Harvey Dent is Two Face. But it wasn't Two Face who offed Maroni. I was thinking it must be Vernon, Dent's researcher. But no, it was Alberto Falcone! Wtf? Alberto was dead. Well, according to Alberto, he faked his death. He was Holiday because Daddy didn't have tome for him. Carmine didn't even know his son's birthday was Valentine's Day. Because of the lack of love and confidence, Alberto made a name for himself. He is now bigger than Falcone ever was.
But Two Face settled scores too. He took care of Carmine. Then he confessed to Gordon and Batman. He is now at Arkham Asylum with all the other wack-a-doos.
We get this interesting ending where Jim ponders life. He believes in Gotham. Batman ponders life and believes in Batman. Two Face believes in Gilda.
And Gilda finishes this journey off. Much like the wife in Presumed Innocent, we learn that Gilda was the first Holiday. She began the murders to set up Falcone. Harvey would investigate, convict Falcone, and she and Harvey would then be able to have time together. As she burns the evidence, she ponders that Harvey must have picked up the killings once she stopped. She believes that Alberto is lying about being Holiday.
We are left very much in the dark about who did what. Love it!

I went into this 13 issue series not knowing anything pertaining to story elements, outcomes, characters etc...
At first I hated the artwork, but then I had a complete 180 and loved it as I moved through the issues... lol.
I didn't know this was a retelling of Harvey Dent's origin story... I had no clue that we would get to see the main members of Batman's rogues gallery. Literally all the big villians are here & play a role except Penguin, who shows up for only one page at the end. I loved the interaction between Gordon, Dent, & Batman. I also loved what I call the "Bat/Cat Rooftops" interaction, in stark contrast to the trash we were served up in 2019/2020.
As for the mystery reveals in issues 12 & 13 - I was truly able to guess them both. The one characters return & involvement & then the final ones confession at the very end of 13. So good! I can't believe I never heard the details of this series before. However, I did not guess the fates of the bosses & some of the other twists as well.
I rarely give anything 5 stars. To me it's nearly unattainable, complete perfection. But taken as a whole this series was really incredibly good. I can't believe I didn't read it when it was released in late 99.. I'm giving the 13 issues as a whole 5/5 because they truly are the best comics I've read in the past 2 years. Cheers!

Batman disguised as a guard with Gordon when transporting Maroni has one of the coolest Batman looks. Tim Sale fucking crushes the design of The Dark Knight.
Two-Face breaks everyone out of Arkham Asylum... except for Calendar Man. Hey, flip of a coin.
All the villains go to Falcone's place. Harvey kills Falcone. And then kills Vernon. Then turns himself over to Gordon, but not before telling them that there's actually two Holiday killers. Batmnan notes that Two-Face killed Falcone on Halloween, therefore...
Harvey Dent/Two-Face is Holiday.
But what if... Gilda was Holiday this whole time?

An overall great series - random ending but still, Batman at his finest, essentially the boring plot accelerating parts of Dark Knight are based on this story, the Falcone/Maroni feud, Harvey Dent becoming Two Face, it’s the same thing but the villain isn’t Joker, it’s Holiday, a Calendar Man rip off which they even joke about by having a Calendar Man/Holiday feud - good to lean into the silliness of it.

what a finale!!!! intense, gripping, and shocking, THE LONG HALLOWEEN finishes with a bang. i’m so insanely impressed by this series, and that plot twist at the end had—or should i say has—my jaw dropped. i believe in the long halloween supremacy.
Gostei bastante da história, não estava nada à espera deste final. De todo. A ilustração tem os seus pontos bons e maus, mas no final acabei por me habituar ao estilo.
