She's the author of the Domingo the Bounty Hunter thriller series, published by Thomas & Mercer in 2025. Her historical novel, My MacArthur, was published by Sand Hill Review Press in 2018. She has worked as a journalist in the Philippines, Taiwan, and the U.S.
Author Cindy Fazzi introduces us to Domingo the Bounty Hunter in the first book of her series and it was a marvelous read!! Domingo is a Filipino/America, a legal immigrant who works as a bounty hunter to corral illegal immigrants who have a warrant out for their deportation. But Domingo is a Bounty Hunter who has a heart and along the way he begins writing a book to teach immigrants the ropes of remaining in the US and the various legal ways to citizenship. But he has met his match when he has to bring in Monica Reed who has overstayed her VISA; This story begins in 1998, shifts to 2008 and also to present day as Domingo is confronted by one of the easiest fugitives he has ever had to bring in, but who has also "escaped" twice. This is a story of a girl trying to find her family, and a man who is hired by that family to make sure she is deported and never returns. Author Cindy Fazzi is a fresh voice who captured me from page 1, and Domingo is a character who I really enjoyed. So happy there is a Book 2 coming and hopefully more in the future. How good is this book?? 5*****
Did Cindy Fazzi just create the first Filipino fictional hero in Domingo? I think she just might. I’ve enjoyed this book very much. I’ll look forward to your next novel, Ms. Fazzi!
Overall, this was a 4.5 star read for me. This is very action packed and such an interesting read. I found that I had a hard time putting the book down. Also I am glad to have had more insight on immigration and some of the things that they can go through. Also love that the original title was still within the story!
Now I do feel like I didn't feel as close to these characters as I would have liked, and Domingo I felt sometimes didn't handle situations the best, but I feel the message came across well and is such a great read especially right now!
I can't wait to see what book two brings! Especially if it pulls me in as much as this one did! Thank you to Netgalley, GetRedPR, and Thomas & Mercer for my advanced reader copy!
Danger No Problem by Cindy Fazzi was such a fun, fast-paced read. Domingo’s mix of grit, humor, and heart kept me hooked from the start. As a first-gen Syrian American with immigrant parents, I really connected with his struggle of chasing big dreams while still staying true to where you come from. It’s action-packed, heartfelt, and made me feel seen in ways I didn’t expect.
Thank you to Cindy Fazzi, Get Red PR, and Amazon publishing for the advanced reader copy.
I chose this book strictly because of the title, lol. “Multo” means ghost in Tagalog, so I was thinking this could have some kind of paranormal aspect to it. Because spooky season. It did not😝 Welp, bahala na😌
I did like the message of this book. Especially as a Filipina American with immigrant parents. It really brings awareness to what’s going on with illegal immigration in the US and how many Americans, unfortunately, view chain immigration. It is so much more than black and white topic. Also, whether illegal or not, it’s obvious there’s a divide between Americans, especially those that are not people of color, that were born and raised here, and those that immigrated over. Even though Domingo is a US citizen, you can clearly feel that he doesn’t feel welcomed and has this inferiority complex about it. And you can see the way that people talk to him as well.
What I didn’t like was Domingo claiming that he loved Monica. Why did Domingo love Monica? Because she’s beautiful? Because she’s “half-breed” and she had all the traits that he wished he had? He never actually got to know her except for the short instances that he’d catch her and then let her go. That kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I also don’t know if I’d call this a thriller. More like a mystery.
Overall, I really did enjoy this and I’ll probably continue with the series. The ending was extremely upsetting, but it worked well for the topic of the book.
Cindy Fazzi, the Author of “Danger No Problem” has written an edgy captivating and intriguing detective mystery and thriller full of adventure and action. This is the first of two books in the “Domingo the Bounty Hunter” series. I read both books, and this can be read alone. Domingo (also called Sunday) is “an immigrant turned recovery agent” who takes down unlawful and dangerous fugitives. Domingo also writes notes for immigrants of things to do to stay out of trouble, which will possibly be a book. Domingo has a conscience, and a sense of morality. He also is family oriented and very close to his mother. I appreciate the humor in the story. Domingo’s older mother constantly pressures him to date, get married and give her grandchildren.
On this particular assignment, Domingo is asked to find the location of an immigrant, who disappeared twice before, perhaps with a little help. He has to locate Monica Reed, so that she can receive a large inheritance. There are other people that don’t want Monica to receive this inheritance, and others that wish her harm. Domingo uses his resources and finds that this is a dangerous mission with secrets, betrayals, and danger. This is book has twists and turns, high adventure, danger, secrets, betrayals, threats and murder. I recommend that you read this book to find out more.
I received an ARC copy of this book and I had a good time with it. The whole vibe reminded me of watching a crime show, especially with how Sunday went about his investigation and pieced everything together.
What really stood out to me was how much the book talked about immigration in the U.S. It opened my eyes to a lot I didn’t know, and I liked that it was able to cover something serious while still keeping a funny, light tone.
I do wish there was a little more action though. The moments we got were good, but I felt like the story could’ve been more exciting with a few more of those scenes. And while I know this isn’t a romance, I would’ve liked more connection between Sunday and Monica. Justa little more insight into why he loves her, since that could’ve made the ending hit harder for me.
Overall, I enjoyed it and I’m definitely curious to see what happens in the sequel!
Fast-paced, witty, and full of grit Cindy Fazzi delivers another knockout with Danger No Problem and its sequel in the Domingo the Bounty Hunter series. 📚✨ Domingo isn’t your average bounty hunter he’s an immigrant chasing people who broke the system, all while writing his own book. When the elusive Monica Reed resurfaces, Domingo uncovers a web of secrets that could cost them both everything. The sequel raises the stakes even higher what should’ve been a simple case for a lovestruck heiress spirals into danger, betrayal, and life-or-death choices. Fazzi’s sharp humor, breakneck pacing, and heartfelt exploration of identity and belonging make this series unputdownable. If you’re looking for action, heart, and plenty of unexpected twists, Domingo’s story will grab you from page one and won’t let go. 💥🔥
Huge thank you to author Cindy Fazzi, Get Red PR, and Amazon Publishing for sending me this physical copy! 💖
Funny story, I actually read book #2 (Sunday or the Highway) first 🤦🏼♀️. It still worked out of order, but I’d definitely recommend starting here to get the full impact of Domingo’s journey.
In this series starter, we meet Domingo, a Filipino bounty hunter who usually goes after fugitives. This time, he’s after Monica, the only person he’s ever let slip away. Now he’s tracking her down for the third time, and the ride is full of twists and turns and you can’t help but wonder what Monica has gotten herself into.
What I also found interesting is that Domingo is writing a book, pulling from his cases to share insights and advice for people navigating the immigration process. It added a thoughtful layer that gave me a fresh perspective and made the story feel even richer.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It’s unique, fast-paced, and Cindy Fazzi is such a talented writer.
"Americans have many names for you: undocumented immigrant, overstaying tourist, illegal alien, migrant, deportable, removable, wetback, loser, parasite, criminal."
Danger No Problem pulled me in from the first page. It’s a thriller, but what really set it apart for me was how intertwined it is with the realities of immigration in the U.S.
Our main character, Domingo, is a Filipino American bounty hunter tracking down criminals who are in the United States illegally. He uses his own experience as an immigrant to think how his targets think. At the beginning of each chapter we get excerpts of a book he is writing about immigration, both legal and illegal. I love how those excerpts show us Domingo's sense of humor, as well as his sympathy towards people struggling through the immigration process.
Domingo's latest quarry is Monica, a Filipino woman who has gotten away twice before. To him she is multo, the Filipino word for "ghost." When she goes missing and he hunts her down for the third time, Domingo discovers Monica's life may be in danger. His emotional attachment to his target makes it all the more suspenseful.
If you’re looking for a thriller that’s not only gripping but also has a strong sense of humanity, this is the one.
Multo focuses on Domingo, a bounty hunter who makes his living hunting down undocumented immigrants who’ve committed crimes. Filipino himself, Domingo is hired to find Monica Reed, an undocumented Filipino woman living in the shadows —except this is his third time working on Monica’s case because she escaped from him twice before.
Told partly in flashbacks, Domingo recounts his previous experiences with Monica and the shady people surrounding her. I was completely engrossed; the turn of events in the last third was a great, unexpected surprise!
Multo means ghost in Tagalog which aptly describes the existence of a lot of undocumented immigrants living here in the U.S. I really enjoyed this book because it educates you on immigration law and is a layered and engaging story.
I really appreciate how immigration law is at the forefront of this novel.
The story is timely, nicely paced, and sharp. The author has a crisp writing style that fluidly channels the personality of the main character. I had an opportunity to meet the author and she is amazing! Looking forward to more stories by the author and more adventures with Domingo.
This book was weird. If I hadn't won it in a Giveaway, I probably wouldn't have finished it. The writing wasn't anything impressive, the topic was strange, and the mystery was underwhelming.
One aspect of this book is that Domingo is writing a nonfiction book for other immigrants about how to best survive in America. This is a narrative device that does practically nothing for the story other than giving the author a chance to chat to the audience. This could've been used very effectively to give deeper insight into Domingo's character, but we didn't learn anything extra about him or the story during these moments. And it's not like the act of writing the book was built into the story either; at most, Domingo would offhandedly say he got some good writing done, but it doesn't impact the story or influence the overall narrative in the slightest.
My biggest problem with this book is that I was just really not vibing with the politics. I understand that Domingo was primarily targeting actual criminals. At some point, he gave us a list of people he'd found and deported and they were, like, drug crime lords. Fine. That's great. But he also talks about being sad when he has to deport a veteran for a relatively-minor infraction. This book came out two years ago, and it's not like I can blame the author for not being able to foresee how nightmarish and Nazi-like ICE raids and the treatment of undocumented immigrants has become these days. It's just unfortunate that this is the political climate I happened to read the book in. I know he's not technically ICE, but it's too close for comfort.
Abolish ICE and, on a more personal level, don't request books from the Goodreads Giveaways about iffy politics.
Domingo was not a very engaging character to me. All of his insecurities about being an immigrant felt surface-level, despite that being the only details we were given to build a character. I get the intention, and I respect that the author was pulling from her own experiences, but I don't think they were translated well into Domingo himself.
I also did not like Domingo talked about Monica. I don't know if this really counts as a spoiler, but if you want to be completely blind about the story, skip the rest of this paragraph. We're told repeatedly that Domingo is in love with Monica, but nothing about the story supports this. He barely knew her; I think they actually interacted for a full week at most. For what it's worth, I — the reader — also barely knew her, so it was hard to care about her as a love interest instead of a woman who had a lot of bad things happen to her. Being treated as a love interest made her worse, actually.
The whole mystery itself was weird at its best moments and unrealistic at its worst. The story played out in two very distinct plotlines that ended up having very little to do with each other, both of which had bad guys that were cartoonishly evil.
I just didn't enjoy reading this book, and, unfortunately, my biggest problem is with the concept itself. At the end of the day, this one just wasn't for me.
I won this book through a Goodreads giveaway in exchange for an honest review. Thanks to Amazon Publishing for choosing me.
This was heartbreaking, intense, and devastating. I wasn't expecting to be so emotional, and yet here I am. This book hit so close to home. I recently watched my mother become a US citizen after living in this country for decades as a resident. I saw the pride with which she took the oath, and I know how much it means to her to officially be a US citizen. I know how much it means to me for her to realize a life-long dream of hers. I also know what it feels like to be discriminated against because of where my family comes from, what we look like, or how we speak. Monica's story has been engraved on my soul forever. She's unforgettable.
Domingo's notes for his book are extremely accurate. The way he explains things and the way he's so direct and blunt leave no room for misunderstanding. I wanted to hate him for deporting immigrants while being one himself, but he won me over. He isn't a bad man. If anything, he's doing the job most of us would prefer not to do. He goes after the criminals, not the innocent. I respect him. Immensely. His story will be in the back of my mind forever.
There's a lot of hate in this book from some of the characters, immigration is a hot topic right now, and Cindy Fazzi does an incredible job of writing about it authentically. This is the first book I read by her, and it won't be my last. Her writing style hooked me from the very first word right up until the last one. She weaves a story that isn't easily forgotten. It will keep you up because you'll want to know what happens as Domingo unravels the mystery of his current target. She manages to enrage you, sadden you, make you laugh, and then break your heart all while leaving you in awe of the novel she wrote. It was definitely a roller-coaster of emotions for me, and it was totally worth it. I traveled around with Domingo as he worked his case. I sat beside him as he worked out the details, walked with him as he followed a lead, spent time with him as he visited his mother and felt his pain, his happiness, his confusion and his sadness as his case came to a close. I'll be thinking of Domingo and Monica for a long time. I'll carry them with me always.

Sunday or the Highway
As a bounty hunter specializing in immigrants who do their status dirty, Domingo has had his fair share of dicey jobs. From traffickers peddling drugs, guns, and people to murderers and other fugitives, Domingo loves nothing more than putting the bad guys away. But his life’s not exactly fun and games.
A seemingly easy case involving a lovestruck young heiress turns out to be anything but. Tessa Woodridge, a fast-food chain CEO, hires Domingo to find the undocumented parents of Julian Alondra, the love of her life. When Tessa was eight, fourteen-year-old Julian saved her life. She always believed they were destined to be together.

These stories were really interesting. They are mysteries mixed with the politics of US immigration in a fictional yet relatable way. I enjoyed the mysteries of both stories with Domingo trying to hunt down criminals but also help families find loved ones. Domingo was a relatable character in many ways, and I enjoyed watching him piece things together over the course of these two books. The politics involved in both stories might be a bit much for anyone who uses reading as an escape from the real world, but the author does a fantastic job of using real information to help immigrants become legal citizens!
Cindy Fazzi’s first book in this series introduces us to Domingo the Bounty Hunter, and I found it to be a marvelous read. Domingo, a Filipino American and legal immigrant, makes for such a compelling character. On the surface, his job is to track down undocumented immigrants with deportation warrants, but what really stood out to me was his compassion. He isn’t just about the chase—he’s writing a book to help immigrants understand the legal paths to staying in the U.S., which gave his character so much depth.
The real turning point comes when he meets Monica Reed, a woman who overstayed her visa. The story moves through 1998, 2008, and the present, showing us how their paths continue to cross. Monica may be one of the “easiest” fugitives Domingo has ever had to bring in, but she’s also the one who keeps slipping away. What unfolds is not just a cat-and-mouse story, but also one about identity, family, and belonging. I really enjoyed how the book balanced the chase with heartfelt moments, making it both thought-provoking and entertaining.
Domingo/Sunday is a Filipino naturalized as an American citizen who is proud of his origin but wants to be seen as an American and fully fit in society although he does not feel totally accepted because of his accent and his color. He is a bounty hunter of criminal immigrants but he has been involved in locating the same person, Monica, three times. Hes father was in the Army and in the CIA and at first did not want to recognize her as a daughter, which was all she wanted. Later on in life he seeks for her help as he needs a kidney transplant, however, there was more he needed... Domingo will do his best to find her, after letting her go the two previous times, to fulfill her stepmother's wishes and will be faced with a horrible crime. Danger No Problem is an interesting read either to understand better how an immigrant feels or to enjoy a good mystery full of action. I thank the author, her publisher, and NetGalley for this ARC.
If you’re a fan of Criminal Minds and Dog the Bounty Hunter, this book will hit the sweet spot between crime, chaos, and heart. Danger No Problem takes readers on a wild, fast paced chase as a determined bounty hunter tracks down an undocumented immigrant on the brink of inheriting a fortune. Cindy Fazzi delivers a clever mix of suspense, grit, and emotion, balancing adrenaline-fueled scenes with moments that make you question justice, loyalty, and compassion. The pacing keeps you hooked, and the characters feel raw and real, each with their own motives and moral gray zones. The only reason it’s not a five star read is that a few moments could’ve dug a little deeper into the emotional stakes, but overall, it’s a thrilling, cinematic ride that crime drama fans will absolutely enjoy.
I really enjoy this book and the story. I was pleasantly surprised! It took me a little to get into but when I did I was really interested in the characters and what was happening. I really enjoyed Domingo (MMC) and his story. It was nice to learn about his immigrant background. It taught me a lot about some of the things that immigrants experience here in America. I also felt like I learned more about the whole process of immigration. Domingo trying to find Monica was a really good story. I was so intrigued with what had happened. I wish I could talk about the end result but I don’t post spoilers lol! Overall I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it!
It was the first book that I have ever read by the author. This is the first book in the Domingo the Bounty Hunter series.
This book deals with the sensitive topic of immigration and I feel like the author did well covering this. It shed a lot of light on what immigrants go through. This book had a lot of twists and turns which I absolutely loved. I love seeing Domingo challenged by Monica. The fact that Domingo was writing his own book was a great little addition.
The story line was very well developed and I loved that the characters felt so real and authentic. I definitely give this a 4 out of 5 stars and I can't wait to read more from this author.
Domingo aka Sunday because the name Sunday is more Americanized. Domingo is a bounty hunter or rather a criminal illegal immigrant hunter. Domingo hails from the Philippines, he is a naturalized American citizen. He is currently seeking Monica Reed for the third time. Domingo is working for the Reed family again. He has quite a history with the Reed family, Leonard Reed hired him the two previous times, Mrs Reed (Leonard's widow) has hired him this last time. This time around Domingo is having a hsrd time locating Monica whom he named Multo (ghost). Domingo never gives up. This was an exciting action thriller, Domingo is a very likeable character. This was a very fast paced and engaging story.
Danger, no problem. Such a fitting title. Domingo is a naturalized citizen and also a bounty hunter of criminal illegal immigrants. This was quite a unique take. It was filled with action and following clues. The multiple timelines kept up the intrigue and thrill while Domingo was following less exciting clues in the present moment. It’s a great mystery that has so many places to go with an interesting character like Domingo and his unique occupation.
This book feels especially relevant, given the current climate of aggression against immigrants. Relegated to second, third, fourth-class citizens, they face an often hopeless future in the land where they’d sought refuge. In this case, it’s a woman born the illegitimate child of a “hero” military pilot. In fact, he is infinitely less of a person than she, though he’s enjoyed all the wealth and glory, though he denied her acknowledgment except when he needs her organs for his continued existence.
Well-written and heartbreaking, this is a book that stays with you.
This detective cat mouse chase detective book written by Filipino-American is astounding. The book has covered some Filipino culture and parallelism. Also, the amount of detail and depth of the characters and the story about Domingo going after Monica Reed is packed with action, a bit of satire and emotion. The nuances of the story and the characters are the reason why this book is worth reading.
This is a well-written action/adventure thriller starting a new bounty hunter series. I enjoyed the main character, Domingo, and his relationship with his mother. He has a big heart and in addition to hunting immigrants that have committed crimes, he attempts to help them too. His pursuit of Monica Reed, who escaped him twice before, brings to light a few very interesting twists in the story.
I received a gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.
This book was such a fun time! What a great introduction to Doming the bounty hunter. This book is action packed with some humor laced it. This is a perfect book if you’re looking for a good time with never a dull moment!
I was so intrigued by the idea of this book and was so thankful to get the eARC from NetGalley!
This action-packed story was full of tense moments, heartbreak and appropriate levity. Cindy Fazzi writes in such a way that I felt like I was part of all the families involved! She didn’t make you question whose side you’re supposed to be on but rather made you see that there is a way to sympathize and empathize with everyone. And I think that is such a unique gift!
I cannot wait for more from this author and this series!!
