Nicole Falls is a contemporary Black romance writer who has taken entirely too long to complete her first project. She's also a ceramic mug and lapel pin enthusiast who cannot function without her AirPods constantly blaring music. When Nicole isn't writing, she spends her time trolling her friends and family while drinking coffee and/or cocktails or checking off yet another of these great United States visited in her quest to see some land! Joy is not a fan of the word no so, her siblings encouraged her to participate in a rejection therapy social experiment. She has to go to the mall and ask random strangers to take awkward holiday photos with her at JCPenney. After being yelled at and rejected by multiple people, Joy is ready to give up until Jasper volunteers as tribute. Can’t Say No To Joy was such a feel good holiday romance that had me cheesin’ the entire book. Joy’s failed attempts were hilarious and Jasper’s eagerness to participate was fun to watch. These two definitely had the chemistry on lock. I thoroughly enjoyed Can’t Say No To Joy and highly recommend you add it to your end of the year TBR.

Hella Fun

I love a comical Christmas story. This book was the perfect read for me. It was laugh out loud funny at times. I especially loved the TikTok references and jokes. When it was time for some action, it got real spicy. Joy’s mission was silly. Her failed attempts were hilarious. Jasper’s eagerness to participate made it so much fun. Their chemistry was *chef’s kiss*. I loved the way Joy went after what she wanted with no regrets. When she said, “You made great decisions yesterday, baby girl”, I thought, “I know that’s right”! This was such a feel good story.

This was a cute story and nice play on the idea of saying no to Joy. Joy is trying to complete a social experiment with something she saw on social media and dealing with rejection but it is not going well for her. Just when she decides to give up she bumps into Jasper who is trying to be more open to trying new things and the story goes on from where he decides he can't say no to Joy which could mean both her and the idea of doing things that bring you joy.

These two vibed together easily and there was the right amount of spice too. This was a short read and I enjoyed it but I would love to see a follow-up to see where this kind of instant connection goes with these two.

Nicole Falls does it again! I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Nicole is a master of novellas. She knows how to give you an entire story without having to rush the story or leave out components that would complete the story just because it's a novella. This story was too cute with the perfect amount of spice. Joy and Jasper find themselves giving each other just what the other needs this holiday season. It's definitely a must-read.

This novella gave me everything I needed and left me wanting more. Joy and Jasper were cute together and their vibe and chemistry was organic and easygoing. I really liked these two together and their interactions kept me smiling. I would have loved to be a witness to their photoshoots.
