Certainly different!

As a successful writer of dark murder/mystery novels, Tom Clifton is at the peak of his professional career. Unfortunately, he finds himself struggling with his latest novel and is under severe pressure from his publisher. At the same time, he begins to worry about the state of his mental health, as both of his parents had died with dementia. In order to complete his writing assignment in peace, he travels to his remote and isolated cottage, where events begin to spiral out of control. Why is he experiencing memory lapses and frightening hallucinations? What is the root cause of his deteriorating psychological health? As a writer of dark horror, where does his inspiration come from? These and other questions become clear as this rather short and intense story unfolds. A typical Amy Cross tale, but, in a good way.

A gripping, enthralling psychological horror book that follows a former best selling author, Tom Linton who moves into his holiday home to complete his latest manuscript. But something's been different, he seems to have time slips where nothing makes sense. His perceived reality is one with a fractured conjuring of sanity and insanity.

When his agent arrives and lets him know about the recent developments in his manuscript he is utterly shocked. As the forgettable events begins to rapidly progress, a foreboding darkness takes hold and he cannot shake the feeling that maybe something sinister is happening all around him or maybe he's finally descending into the spirals of dementia.

An absolutely intriguing and fantastic story that kept me glued its pages till the very end. Amy Cross is truly a genius! The narration and plot pace is engaging with the psychological manipulation and dark murky secrets are well done. The unsettling atmosphere combined with unreliable narrator and paranoia crescendo with the echoing intense horror and a dark twisted brutal revelation of reality.

"Typo" is an excellent book that dwells on the psychological horror and the anticipated suspense that keeps you turning the pages.

Very different

Okay, so I begin reading this and it's not making sense , I'm thinking I'll stop. If you get that same thought try to read on because it's quite good. I mean some of this book had me laughing at the comments as they were so bizarre yet funny. I never thought books of this subject make me laugh.
The concept is great. I've only laughed at Dexter's comments regarding his thoughts, plus he gets rid of bad people. Brilliant job.

This book wasn't horrible but I guessed the twist at 18% so kinda made the book less fun to read. The cliff hanger ending threw me off a bit. A bit repetitive too near the end. Over all just an ok book.

Tom Clifton is a successful author but he is having trouble remembering things. He is very concerned since both of his parents had dementia. There is an interesting plot twist.

Interesting Plot

This story was very interesting and disconcerting. I hope I never have the loss of mental capacity that the main character has. Creepy.

Writer / serial killer with dementia. I like Amy Cross because she comes up with very random horror stories. Since her books usually have typos, I found the title amusing.

It's a nice read for a calm afternoon.
