The House Ethics Committee Report on Matt Gaetz

Rate this book
On December 23, 2024, the US House Ethics Committee released its years-long investigation into the illicit activities of former Rep. Matt Gaetz. In its findings, detailed evidence suggest that the former congressman engaged in various illicit activities involving women, minors, impermissible gifts, and obstruction of Congress, to name a few.

The 42-page report highlights its findings and provides factual background of incidences with key witnesses. It also discusses why the report was released by the House Ethics Committee, as well as the views of its chairman Michael Guest, who dissented to its release.

Matt Gaetz has vacated his seat in Congress prior to the report’s release. He has sought a restraining order against the House Ethics Committee. He has also accused the House Ethics Committee of violating its own standards by releasing the report on a private citizen, since he was no longer a member of Congress. In his public remarks, he says his actions were “...embarrassing, though not criminal, that I probably partied, womanized, drank, and smoked more than I should have earlier in life….”
