And what is Cora’s Gift?
This book really touched me. The author's love of animals and family is evident. Some of the descriptions of the horses that are injured will be difficult for animals lovers to read. I don't normally cry when reading books, but I did a couple of times with this one.
On a side note, it was lots of fun to read about my hometown and the surrounding areas.
This book is a enduring story of a family that has had great loss. That loss, created a beautiful bond between siblings. The siblings and their children, have a tight family love that transcends all. Even extremely challenging situations. In a hearty story of love and loss. You will cry and you will laugh with the Tagger Family and the Tagger Heard.
GR. Had penned a novel about a family that owns a horse ranch that try to raise and train to the best of the horses ability. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
A family story that revolves around a herd of horses and the story of how the family saved them. Emotional and full of love and a western style gathering.
What a jewel of a book! This was free when I picked it up. It is still free on Kindle Unlimited. Even at full price it is only $2.99. I think it is well worth that and then some.
This wasn't an action/adventure kind of book. It is family centric and thereby the love of horses that the family holds dear. Get out the kleenex as there are a couple situations that will cause wetness on the cheeks, but the love of the horses and family make this story move. As it was, I couldn't stop reading. I needed to know what would happen to these horses and this family.
The story takes place in contemporary times with computers, cell phones, and facebook. That makes it even more relatable. Even for those of us who down't own ranches.
I finished this book too late at night to start the next book. But as of this morning I have already read nearly halfway through. I love this family. I love the horses and the horse rescues that are brought into the story.
Do you love horses? Do you love people who want to care for or rescue horses? This book/series is for you!
I got this book free on my kindle. Being a horse lover I thought it would be a good little book. I think I had tears in my eyes almost the whole time reading this book. The author's descriptions of the 12 horses was heartwretching! But the way all the children pitch in and help save them is great. Even their acceptance of Cora whose husband had bought the 12 horses as an anniversary gift tor her. I'll be looking for the other books in the series.

This was an easy read. The heart of this story was about horses, so if you like horses, and romance stories this would be right up your alley. I'm not that big into horses so this was not a "fantastic" read in my opinion.
