Merry Zoo-Mas

This was an emotional rollercoaster! At first, I wasn't feeling Zu, but it was nice to read about his back story. I have a newfound respect for him.

As far as Chevy, shit is really about to hit the fan, and I'm not ready 🥺

Zu Baby

Zu has so many layers and i like that we got a chance to enter his world. He dealt with a lot and still does. Trying to protect the ones he love while hurting also. My boy just wants love and for his found family not to break up. There were a lot of emotions in this book and not just from Zu. Everyone was dealing with something and i think the author did a great job with the povs for each character. Giving us as readers to really feel the emotions with each character.

One more book to go and I’m not ready.

Moments:
-Dio makes me want to wrap him in my arms.
-Zu and Freckles finally stopped playing.
-Zu got vulnerable with Chevy because that’s his brother.

Another piece of the puzzle unfurled.
Multiple POVs continued, which Tatiana does well.

We picked up where Hurricane Harvey made landfall and nearly decimated the relationship between Zu and Foe. We get a glimpse into who Zu is and his story. In the other installments, I can admit that he was not a very likable character. He came off as arrogant, selfish, and inconsiderate. I’m not entirely sure that he beat those allegations in this book 🤣. There were a few things this book didn’t quite address. His gambling and damn near causing Chevy to lose the juice bar was one of them. We did get to see how he ended up as his brother’s guardian and why their relationship was the way it was.

It seems as tho Zu has met his match in the fiery rider, Freckles but I’m not convinced. She is the damaged pretty girl looking for a place to fit in. I’m interested to see what she’s into back in her hometown. Something tells me it’s about to get messy when her crew enters the scene.

Highlights:
Heavy Chevy and Zaria’s brief interactions.
Freckles riding for Zu’s heart.
Chevy’s speech and gift.
Yana taking every second to remind everyone that she is pregnant by Diamond. (Ok girl, we know lol)
Dio’s crash out.

Listen, bring on Chevy and he bet not die.
I’m not playing Tatiana.

So, I can’t lie, I’m liking this series so far. It has kept me engaged and highly anticipating the next events. I’ve laughed, gotten angry, and yelled “We Only F With Zoo” too many times! The formatting, editing, and flow could definitely use more tweaking because something is terribly off. I see why it’s always women vs. The Zoo because these boyz fall fast and hard. They’ve each finally met their one. I’m looking forward to Chevy’s book. 🧡

So good!!!!!

Whew we really got to get some background about Zeus!!!!!

His love for his brother Dio and how he was trying to give him a better life.

His relationship with Sasha. He wanted to be vulnerable and have someone to truly love.

And his relationship with Chevy! They were brothers too. Regardless of blood.

Loved it and can’t wait to see what’s going to happen with Zaria and Chevy.

I knew it was a story behind Zu

I knew there was a story behind Zu I just didn’t expect it to be that deep. Zu just wanted someone to love on and he wasn’t taking the L this time. I’m just glad Freckles unguarded her heart because they both wanted the same thing. I’ve fallen for each member of the Zoo separately!!!!

I’ll admit it—Zu (aka Zeus) used to get on my last nerve with his reckless ways. But this book... It gave me a whole new perspective on him. Zu wasn’t just wild—he was a man thrown into a position he wasn’t ready for, forced to lead when he was still figuring himself out.

His relationship with his little brother, Dionysus, hit different. Dio was a walking storm, battling demons that had their claws in him deep. Some of the decisions he made... Whew. They had my heart racing. Watching Zu struggle to be the big brother Dio needed—even when he didn’t have all the answers himself—was real. These were two Black men navigating life without parents, trying to survive, trying to be better. Did Zu always make the right choices? Absolutely not. But this Zu? He was trying.

Then came Freckles—Sasha. A woman who wasn’t like the others Zu had known. She had her own story, her own struggles, her own power. A tattoo artist, a beast on a bike, and the one person who could see Zeus past his walls. Their chemistry... Undeniable.

This book wasn’t just about the usual street game—it was about growth, redemption, and family. Zu wasn’t perfect, but he was fighting to make things right—with Dio, with Chevy, and with himself. And by the end? The big gorilla wasn’t so tough after all—he was just a man with a heart that had been through it.

Tatiana Timmons took me through some emotions with this one. And now... I’m ready for Chevy’s story. Let’s ride.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Zu-topia was another fantastic addition to the Zoo Boyz! The story tugged at my heartstrings and I loved Freckles for Zeus. Their chemistry was everything! I understood the struggle between Zu and Dio; and communication goes a long way. In the beginning I felt Dio was being impulsive and by the end, I wanted to give him a hug. I feel like there was opportunity to go deeper in the home life of Zu and Dio, and more on Freckles’ childhood. Nonetheless, I have a better understanding of their characters and I’m eager for Zaria and Chevy!

So Good!

I enjoyed seeing this side of Zeus! I think this book hit on a lot of heavy topics! There were a lot of battles that were fault! Poor Dio was losing it and he just needed the guidance! Zu finally taking accountability yet still addressing things with Harvey that needed to take place! He also was not about to have Sasha play in his face! Baby that ride to Zu-topics was wild and nasty! Lol but my favorite part was the ending! Definitely shedding some tears! Can’t wait for Chevy book!

Listen I was on the edge of my seat!!

I’ll confess, I have gave Zu a hard time but now I have nothing but love for him!! He has been through a life where he wasn’t properly loved and it showed. He met his match with Freckles and I thought she was suspect at first. Dio man, he definitely needs to get to New York ASAP!! Zaria we need to keep her tail in a bubble cuz why is something always happening to her, lol This book didn’t disappoint at all and in true Tati fashion she got me ready for Big Chev’s book!!

we only fuck with the zoo

The back story on Zu and Dio pulled at my heart strings. For Zu to finally find his person made everything he went through much better. I'm happy that Dio is trying to live better by but I just fell to pieces about Chevy. I hope he finds and fights for love. I am excited for the new members.

2 stars is me being nice. I read the other books in the series. They weren’t terrible, but this one was so far off the mark. I could not connect with the characters. This felt rushed and choppy. The spicy scenes were meh. It honestly felt thrown together.

I’m happy to get a more introspective look into Zu.
I get it, forced to parent and harboring a whole hell of a lot of resentment for it. As much as, Zu works my nerves with his mean antics his love for his brother and best friends warm me up.

I said it once and I’ll say it again. I’m over the women. Freckles was a cute love interest for Zu. She has depth. But I hate that their connection was soooo instalovey and that she is kind of a rebound.
Zaria and her constant damsel in distress is so annoying. Like girl are you coming or going cause what you not gonna do is stress Chevy out lol.

Oh and the way I ugly boohoo snot nose cried over the last 20pgs…..Gotdamn

Whewww chile. This one is hands down my favorite story of the series soo far. I literally just finished it & im kind of struggling to put my thoughts into words but this here was a masterpiece. I don’t know why ppl disliked Zeus prior to this book but I can guarantee by the end of this book they will at least understand him more. Zeus went through a lot & had to grow up quickly and basically become a father something he didn’t ask for. I loved the representation of the fact that men long to be loved & chosen just like women. I loved the growth Zeus went through. I loved everything about this. The ending did choke me up a little bit.

I am going to be honest---I wasn’t really feeling Zu in the earlier books, but this one? This one changed everything. Getting to see his backstory, understanding what really shaped him, and watching him navigate all these struggles? Yeah, I get him now, and honestly, he turned into one of my favorite characters.

With the tension already high between him and Chevy, this latest turn of events shakes Zu to his core. The realization that he could lose his best friend before they even have a chance to make things right? That hits different. And as if that wasn’t enough, he’s out here watching one of his own with the woman he thought was his forever—talk about a gut punch.

But Zu doesn’t even have time to dwell on that because his little brother, Dionysus, is out here wildin’ in the streets, making reckless decisions that Zu has to keep cleaning up—without the crew knowing. And then here comes Sasha, aka Freckles, stirring up feelings in him that he doesn’t even want to acknowledge. Zu has been burned before, and putting his heart on the line again? Yeah, he’s resisting with everything in him.

And then—when his brother goes missing? That’s the breaking point. The weight of his past, his loyalty to the crew, and his desperate need to protect what little family he has left? It’s crushing him. I felt every single moment of his struggle. There were points where I really thought it would all be too much for him, that he’d break under all the pressure. He buckled, no doubt—but he never folded.

And just when you think things might settle? Chevy hits them with the hardest slap in the face yet. But of course, there’s no time to even process that because BOOM—another cliffhanger! And this one? This one has me panting at the thought of someone else being hurt.

Chevy’s Promise is up next, and with so many unanswered questions, I already know that one is going to have me on an even bigger rollercoaster.

One thing’s for sure—we only f** wit the ZOO!!*

As I was reading this book the entire time I was asking myself “am I being gaslighted?” 🤔🤔🤔

Why was everyone trying to make Zu feel like his feelings weren’t valid or like he was the one in the wrong and he needed to just accept what was being thrown at him? Harvey and Foe were wrong affff. Foe wasn’t just an associate to Zu or a business partner. That was literally his best-friend and someone he considered his brother for YEARSSSSS🙃🙃.

For 4 books we watched the author show us how much Zu was trying to change for Harvey and how hard he was falling for her and how soft he got on her. That first night when Foe dropped her off from the party and both of them realized they felt something for each other she could’ve left Zu alone. They weren’t in a relationship or anything so that was the perfect time to walk away but noooooo. Harvey literally played in that man face while falling in love with his best-friend then made him feel like the villain in the story. Was Zu a perfect man? HELL NO! He was actually pissing me off up until his book. However, in this situation I don’t see why he was being made out to be the problem when it was clearly Harvey ditsy ass🙄🙄.

What I also didn’t understand is how was it that Zu and Chevy were friends/ bestfriends from high school for over a decade and him and Harvey were friends from childhood as well and yet none of the guys EVER crossed paths with Harvey or knew about her? 🤔🤔🤔. It’s not like Chevy had two different houses or anything. All of them came to that same house.

This may be an unpopular opinion but I was actually cool with Foe and Asia’s’ relationship🥴. The author making her have 2 kids out of the blue and foe didn’t want any kids and one of the kids dad being someone who wanted Foe dead seemed so thrown in there. It’s like she needed us to not like Asia so that was thrown in.

I liked Zu and Freckles relationship they seemed to mesh well and be what each other needed. The race at the end was cute.

Babyyyyy… ZU-TOPIA had me in a chokehold. YAAAAASSSS!! Growth? Elevation? Accountability?? BRAVO. Standing ovation. I read this in one day, one sitting, legs cramped, water untouched, responsibilities ignored — and I regret NOTHING.

The way this series went from “Umm… okay?” in book one to “EXCUSE ME?!” in book five is wild. Tatiana must’ve said, “Lemme stop playing with y’all and actually start WRITING,” because these last few books have been good good.

Zu… wow. Look at my problematic king stepping into emotional maturity. I don’t wanna say I didn’t like him before, but I also didn’t like any of them like that, so… do with that what you will. But THIS BOOK? This grown-man, taking-accountability, carrying-the-weight-of-the-world-on-his-back Zu?? Yeah… I see him. I SEE HIM. Knowing what he’s been through and what he’s trying to protect his brother from? Whew. My chest got tight a couple times.

And let’s talk about the humor! This one was FUN-NY. I had a couple moments where I literally cackled like an auntie at the cookout. But the drama?? The romance?? The fiery, passionate, “ma’am are you blushing?” sex scenes?? Tatiana was not playing with us.

NOW. Chevy. When this man stood up and gave that Christmas speech? I sat there blinking fast like, “Girl… are you crying behind a street romance book?” He made a thug tear up. A THUG!! You know it’s serious when the hood starts getting emotional. LMAOOOO.

Seeing him open up and stop pretending to be Optimus Prime was beautiful. I NEED to see how Zaria unlocks the rest of that man in the final book because I KNOW that man got layers like an emotional onion.

Overall? Zu-topia ATE, LEFT NO CRUMBS, PACKED THE TUPPERWARE, AND DROPPED OFF PLATES TO THE NEIGHBORS.

Tatiana, you did THAT.

see i liked Zeus in the first chapters of the first Zoo Boyz, and then spent all my time hating him books 2-4. His book was a nice dive into why he was the way he was, but I still don’t feel like the ends justify the means. He’s still wildly unlikeable. I actually found myself more empathetic towards Dio than Zu reading this book.

The back story with his parents felt unfinished and lacked depth. I like that enough was told to parallel his experience of loss and grief with his Dad to Chevy, but beyond that I felt like there were big holes in the story that left us with an inability to truly empathize with him as a character with a traumatic past.

I did love to see the story unfold between him and Freckles. They were cute. Freckles story/background story also lacked depth and we weren’t really able to comprehensively understand her guarded ways. Enough was said to “get the picture” but I think the book would have been better if the author took the time to build the characters backgrounds so we can feel their impact.

That racing scene was definitely giving Love and Basketball. “You made a fool of meeee, tell me whyyyyy” but it makes sense that he would take his knee brace off and dunk on Freckles because he’s an unlikeable selfish man, like Q was! I said what I said!

No matter the critiques, the story is interesting enough to continue the series, so I am eager to read Chevy’s book.

The Pen Game Queen!!

These is so much to discuss but I will NOT go on and on. Let me tell you I cried, I got mad, and definitely laughed. This here was an amazing read.

Now I knew there was a lot to unfold when it came to Zeus, but never would have thought it goes back as far as it did. Childhood trauma is hard to overcome. If it’s not addressed it just gets pushed to the back of mind and cover up- exactly what happened with Zu. He had to be come that father figure to his brother Dio and was still trying to figure out who he was. Dealing with his mother mental health, the lost of his father and Dio becoming unhinged was a lot but to add to that you had Chevy issues! With Chevy, it hits different and it is taken a toll on Zu and the others - Diamond, Preach, Foe and Harvey.

With all this Zu, I’m so happy he was able to find LOVE!! It started off rocky with him and Sasha (Freckles), but they were able to figure it out as they were meant for each other! It took for Zeus to take her to Zu-Topia for her to understand the feelings he had for, but at first it went over her head lol. However, she figured it out before she truly lost him, cause babe I HOLLERED when he put her out. But they both have that flare that only the two of them can handle.

Can we touch a little on Chevy and Zaria! If they don’t get together lol. I’m TEAM CHEVY all day and I pray he doesn’t give up. I will not get to deep into them until I read his story lol..

But before I end let talk about Chevy PLANTS!!! I HOLLERED!!

It’s A Zoo Celebration

Cortez is like a dam bug that won’t disappear not matter how many times he escapes being stepped on!!!…He is craving for someone to put an end to his existence!!!…
Chevy is a very deep person and he had me in my feelings over here all through this book!!!…I love how he loved on his crew and I knew he was doing it so that they can began to heal from the traumas life had bestowed on them and to make sure some were not consumed with the actions of the streets!!!…
I’m so happy that Zu found someone that had just as much steam as he did and did not require as much as Harvey needed!!!…Foe was definitely the best person for her and I’m glad all was able to see it and there is no confrontation btwn the crew!!!…
I love me some Zaria & all her feisty personality!!!…She is ALWAYS willing to make you chase or fight her because she is not going down easy!!!…
I can’t wait for them to get their hands on Cortez and I truly hope Zaria is going ti be okay!!!…I need her and Chevy to finally get on the same page!!!…
I’m happy for Diamond too!!!…Preach is ALWAYS coming with the smoothness to soothe the wounds of those around him!!!…
Dio is such a tormented soul and definitely struggles with mental health issues!!!…I hope the move for him helps him to heal mentally and emotionally!!!…

TT KNOW SHE WRONG FOR THIS!!!

Zeus is a big brother/pseudo-dad to Dio. Dio is struggling bad, lost in the streets and Zu is trying to make things right. Finally sharing the family secrets with Dio brings them closer and allows Zu to make peace with his past and be a better man. That includes opening himself up to love with Sasha/Freckles. While I’m glad to finally get a better understanding of Zeus, I STILL DON’T LIKE HIM! 🤷🏾‍♀️ He is very selfish and that’s just a character flow period. I know TT wanted fans to give him a chance but I just don’t vibe with him. Glad he finally got love though. Foe and Chevy are still my favorites. My gawd if I don’t hurry and get Chev and Zaria’s story. Zaria deserves to get her chance at love and my goodness Chev needs a healing. I absolutely love how TT created this telepathic connection between Chev and Z. They way they just innately know one another is crazy. I CAN’T WAIT!!! 5/5 ⭐️s.

The next installment of the Zoo Boyz is the backstory of my absolute favorite…Zeus. From the outside, he appears to be heartless, but once you know the history, you realize that he’s just misunderstood. Not only is he raising his brother Dionysus after the death of his parents, he’s also trying to wrap his head around losing his girlfriend to his friend. As if that isn’t enough, his best friend is sick and running away from the Zoo.

When life is at an all time low, he meets Freckles and is trying to find out her real reason for being there.

The more I read this series by @authortatiana is the more I fall in love with it. The whole Zoo-mas broke me down, but I understand that it had to happen. My favorite character was Chevy and my least favorite goes to Cortez. Like, why is he still breathing, is the question? The breakout character, Dio was real busy in this book and I can’t to read more about him.

Zeus I have to say was definitely a miss understood individual. I loved his story because I didn’t see it playing out the way it did. It’s crazy how all these men are so close but none of them other than Preach are open with the struggle they really have on their backs. Our childhoods play so much on our mental health. Zeus felt like his family didn’t show him love to him not knowing how to give or receive love all while becoming a parent to his younger brother. He was really a lost little boy in a man’s body trying to navigate the world through foggy glasses. His best friend could she him but it was up to him Zu needed to see his own vision. There are a few parts that threw me for a loop. I’m so glad that Dio came out and played a lot in this book. However, Dio could have been put the Zoo boys on to everything. Everyone so worried about not being a burned to the next person only causing more shit to pop off.

I have no more tears...

I can't. If this book hit like this, I can only imagine Chevy's book. My eyes still leaking. Why did Chevy have to do Christmas like that. This man has always put others first, with the exception of when he's bussin' on someone. I mean he handpicked 3 men at their lowest and gave them something to live for...he has to have a redemption arc! Ok, enough of me ranting. This was Zeus's story. He and Sasha/Freckles definitely had their special connection that started with a race and ended with love, but seeing how traumatic things had been for him, plus left with the task of raising his brother, and Dio crashing out just kept me wiping my eyes. I hope we see a little of everything in the next book. Why does Cortez keep popping up, and why do I feel like all roads lead to Toussaint for a reason? I need a little recovery time before the last book...maybe an hour or so. Happy Reading Y'all!💋 Zoo over everything!🐺🦁
